...Central Indiana has a heavy overcast sky and just a bit misty at times this morning. 37.8 degrees at the moment. Nothing severe or snow to happen in our area today and that's a good thing.
It really is Friday but doesn't seem as important to a retiree as to the 5 day a week worker...But looking at my watch, I can confirm {to myself}, it really is the weekend.
Quentin
Yeah! Friday!
Coffee and bagels for me please. Thanks CW!
Got a little rain and some more coming today, but still not enough to make a dent in the drought!
Going on a road trip this weekend to the Great Train Expo in Winston-Salem, NC and then to the Replacements china and tableware warehouse.

Cw - I am here and ready to rock. Brought some headache pills with me - I too had one this morning. They are rampant right now with sinus infections and I just can't seem to shake this one. Doctor said to rest and drink lots of fluids - so I think we can do both.
Here it is Friday already. Have mixed emotions about that. Like a little time off, but haven't recovered from the last big time off. Think I have the January Blahs!

Good Friday morning, everyone! So far, feeling much better this morning: headache has subsided quite a bit this morning, and that makes me feel better! Hate going to sleep and waking up with a headache!! Our rain is out of here, except for maybe a few sprinkles this morning. Temps aren't supposed to go very far today; currently about 44 degrees, and high today is to be 45.
Emma and Cannonball, glad you both stopped in last night!
Coffee is ready, juice freshly made, and hot chocolate, hot tea and hot cider are also ready.
On the breakfast menu this morning: danishes, doughnuts, muffins, bagels and bear claws.
Mookie, got your coffee mug down, rinsed and ready to pour coffee in it, as soon as I see you comin' through the door! Even have a couple of 'beagles' on a plate, all ready for you! And I'll meet ya over at the rocking chairs, for a quick girl chat!!
You all have a great Friday morning!!
tree68 , Is that the one at Mc Cormack park on no. Scotsdale rd. ??
If so ,the park is an interesting place to see and enjoy. Hotels and resturants close at hand. Maybe we can link up when you are there. I am 65 mi. from there, but no problem to meet a Diner patron and a conductor to boot. I just need your schd. eta.
Respectfully, Cannonball

Hi everybody. I know I have been a little scarce (well more like MIA) but I decided to take a little study break and pop in for a visit. I am currently studying for finals and trying not to have a panic attack. I have my first final (spanish) tomorrow and then I'm off to Deleware on Saturday for a track meet. College really does keep you busy. Nice thing is I get a week off after finals and my mother is coming out to visit me. We are planning on taking a day trip to Cape May (in Jersey) to go bird watching and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good trainwatching spots or train museums anywhere between there and Trenton.
Well I think I'll grab myself a pork chop and run off to my cave and study.
Everyone have a happy Friday.

I'd rather not go, but duty to family and all. I do plan on checking out the live steamers there, though. There's one that runs in a park in Scottsdale, and a club that runs on Sunday afternoons on the north side of the city.

Eolafan, just one word: YUMMMMMMY!! Maybe I'll make beef stew with all the veggies and biscuits for tomorrow! But, for tonight, the other Crock Pot full of pork chops, taters and onion is ready and on the warmer bar. Along with all the desserts!
Joe and Lance, containers are ready for you guys to take to work tonight! You both even have an assortment of the desserts on today's menu.
Been raining pretty good around here. From 3 p.m. to about 4:30, our weather radio was going off like there's no tomorrow. Our area is still under a tornado watch, and south of us, from Hardin and Larue Counties to down Bowling Green way, they were under a tornado warning. Someone in Elizabethtown, KY in Hardin County, emailed pictures of the flooding they've had to our local meterologist at WHAS tv station. Hope my relatives down there are all right.
Speaking of people doing all right, wonder where Mudchicken is: haven't seen him around lately, that I can recall.
Everyone take care, and have a good, safe, and dry evening!!
Light but steady rain here in Aurora right now and getting a little cooler (42F now) out, so it is going to be one of those evenings to stay inside and keep warm and cozy. My better half is cooking a hearty beef and vegetable stew with biscuits, finished off with chocolate chip cookies for desert....YUMMY!!!!

Got a little rain here in NC, but still in a severe drought conditions
Any who.....Mexican dinner was great last night thanks!
And those Magic Pork Chops sounds good for lunch today! Thanks CW!
Got a call from dentist office and they owe us $64.50 for over charging a few months back, now ain't that nice....
Later,
We're getting light rain right now. Supposed to have some ugly stuff come in later this afternoon, and evening. Supposedly, all the mess will be out of here at or around midnight.
Mookie, wondering about your post this morning Of course, I stay half the time, anyway. As evidenced to the next paragraph.
Larry, got an email from Willy during the holidays. He's been very busy, and hasn't had a chance to get in. Sorry I forgot to mention it earlier. He asked that I say "Hi" to everyone for him.
The first huge Crock Pot of Pork chop abracadbra w/potatoes, onion and other side dishes are ready and on the warmer bar. The other Crock Pot is cooking on low, for supper tonight. Man, does this kitchen have a very tempting aroma coming out of it.
Desserts are: sliced apples w/caramel sauce, chocolate cake, and apple and peach cobblers. Also have plenty of ice cream, if anyone wants any on whichever dessert offering you prefer.
Phoenix at the end of the month. Flying out and back. I'd take the train, but I don't have time this go-round.
I should have some time to do a little train watching, though. I'll have to do a quick search - I think someone asked about that not long ago here on the forum.
Nice and sunny today. There's snow in that there forecast, though.
Speaking of forecasts - where's Willy? Don't recall him being around lately.
...Nice sunny January morning here....About 40 degrees now. They have said a bit of off and on rain today, but doesn't look like it's here yet.
Good Thursday morning, everyone! Hope everyone had a good night last night. Larry, glad to hear that things have calmed down up your way!!
Coffee, juice, hot chocolate, hot tea and hot cider are all ready this morning.
On the warmer bar this morning: oatmeal, toast, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs, with fresh pineapple in the fridge.
Working on getting the meal for today on in the Crock Pots: pork chop abracadbra w/red potatoes and onion, with corn, broccoli, rice and cornbread as the other side dishes.
Hope you all have a very good day, and I'll be in the kitchen if anyone needs anything.
Well, I can stop leaning over now. Still a tad breezy, but a far cry from the 30+mph sustained winds (gusts to 50) the airport was carrying all day. Highest gust on my weather station was 30 mph, but I'm in a rather sheltered location.
Time to rummage around for a bedtime snack.
Doghouse, sorry about that: guess when I was proofreading, I missed my typo!! I knew it is spelled with a "j", and it is right next to the "h". Maybe I need to get my eyes re-examined.
Everything is replenished on the warmer bar, so everyone help yourselves to a little bit of everything on the warmer bar!! Desserts are on the counter.
Cheerokee Woman, absolutely perfect menu for today, just what the doctor ordered. Fajitas with a "j" though.
CW thanks for supper tonight.larry hope things settle down for you.Time to go get matt off the bus.
tree68 wrote:Man, it's nuts here - neighboring department just called for more help for a roof off a firefighter's residence. The trees and wires are falling like dominoes - and the wind's supposed to continue until this evening.
Welcome to the club!
You out did your self today CW, that Mexican Fietsa is just the ticket for my tummy!
Ole!
Larry, hope things calm down soon for you all in Upstate New York!!
Dan, never been shot (with a gun) and hope I never am; like you, I'd rather have the shot for the flu (which I get every year).
On today's meal menu: WEDNESDAY MEXICAN FIESTA DAY. On the warmer bar:
cheesy quesadillas, beef & bean burritos, beef burritos enchilada style, enchiladas, fahitas, tacos, cheesy beef nachos, fresh tomato salsa, and black bean & rice tostadas.
Desserts: creamy mango dessert, chocolate cake w/white icing, and yellow cake w/chocolate icing, and fruit cocktail Jell-O w/whipped cream on top.
Moo-
By a .22 once but with a needle for the flu no. In hindsight I'd have taken the latter since the former led to much bleeding and angst...but that's another story.
