10-4 on that quote from NH.

Ms. Mookie , I agree with what you said. A lot of them ( good ol boys ) tend to step on their tongue , then try to walk away. HEE HEE.  We got a lot of rain the past 2 days and the washes are runnin' full . Still some people think the cars can swim .  Glad we live on the ridge line, as water and whatever else flows down hill. There is a (stupid motorist law ) for the ones who drive into the water . Usually 800.00 U.S. $ for a rescue .CBS had a film on one this afternoon.  Quentin, dont' get a flash burn from NH.

As noted on another thread - the rain may pack a bigger wallop.  Get ready to duck.

Hot roast beef sandwiches?!?!?!?  Stand Back!

We topped out at 1 degree above our record for January 7th:  71 degrees was our recorded high for today.  With rain coming in later tonight, and scattered showers in the morning.  That will make for a bad first day back for TUESDAY PRODUCE for the new year.  Yuck!

Supper is on the warmer bar:  leftover spaghetti casserole from last night, and there's also open-face roast beef and turkey sandwiches w/gravy.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Up to 55 here - from -17 last week.  The snow is rapidly disappearing.   Considering that at this time last year we'd had little or no snow.....

Saving the leftover spaghetti casserole for supper.  For lunch today:

Your choice of open-face roast beef sandwiches w/beef gravy, or open-face turkey sandwiches w/turkey gravy and either gravy on the mashed taters.  There is also some sweet green peas w/carrots diced up in them, cole slaw, garden salad, and applesauce.

Desserts today:  chocolate cake w/chocolate icing, homemade chocolate meringue pie, yellow cake w/white icing, or blueberry muffins, fresh out of the oven.

For anyone who hasn't made it there yet, check out the new edition of Trackside with Trains, as Kathi Kube is the competition for Mike this week.

Mornin' folks!

Thanks for the breakfast CW!

The warming front has taken hold, low was only 39° F this morning, and the high is supposed to be in the low 70° F today.

Check back later on for lunch....

Jim - we got a tinkle this morning at 3 am.  All it did was lightly freeze on our drive and walks.

It was in the high 40's yesterday - very nice.  I sent it your way.  Should continue to melt today, and then 30's this weekend.  We will pay dearly for this nice weather, wait and see.

Tree - the Driver can drive me to work at 5:15, go on to his work a total of about 4-5 miles, work from 6 am to 10 am and then call me when he really wakes up.  I can tell by the silence and then the chattiness that he has arrived!

South of here - I am sending (from yesterday) on BNSF two NS motors with a full freight.  Go horses!  This is just for your viewing pleasure.

Yep, good mornin' Mook, it is a cloudy day here in Chitown with good chance of thunder storms and hail here with hights (now get this) of 65F or higher, breaking an all time record from way back in 1907!  No snow on the ground here now since Saturday afternoon (on Friday we still had about two inches).  With temps in the sixties, even the brown parking lot snow is likely to be mostly gone by the end of the day.

I'm here!!  Mutt, thanks so much for getting Mookie's coffee and beagle for her!!  Yeah, not sure if the powers that be were doing maintenance this morning, or what, but I couldn't get in the door at 5:30 this morning.  Oh well, I survived, after only getting about 4 hours sleep.

Along with the bagels and bear claws this morning, on the warmer bar, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, hash browns, peaches & cream oatmeal and toast.

Hope you all had a nice weekend, and hope some of our patrons on the west coast will be able to make it back in today (if they have power back in their areas, that is).  And I also hope everyone has a very good morning!

Not entirely, but let me get you a cup of coffee and a beagle.

CW tried to get in earlier, but apparently either the forum was down for whatever,

or our computer didn't want her to get here.

Mutt's got the spaghetti casserole finished, and out of the oven.  Garlic bread is toasted, and the garden salads are ready and in sitting in the cooler.  So, grab a plate for the caserole, and a bowl for your salad, and grab some garlic bread.  EVERYTHING'S READY AND WAITING TO BE EATEN.

Joe and Lance, containers are ready for you guys to take to work tonight.  And if anyone else in on third shift, feel free to fix containers to take to work tonight.

For everyone's SUNDAY DINNER today:

Mutt is making his grandmother's Italian spaghetti casserole.  Along with it, we'll have Texas garlic toast and freshly made garden salad.  Desserts will be the usual cakes and pies.

.....47 degrees here before 8.

I wonder how disappointed one might be {no matter how good the equipment and records}, when playing our 33's and 45's now....After listening all these years to the CD's concept.

I have 2  digitally mastered 33 records that cost 15 dollars each eons ago and I would be anxious to hear them again now after all the years to see what they "sound" like.  They go back perhaps two decades or more....probably more as I purchased them when I bought a Marantz receiver and I haven't even had that now for 7 or 8 years...!

The wife is moving furniture around in the family room and I'm looking to see what all it requires to do the same to move the stereo stuff....Hate to think of trying to do that.

Good Sunday morning!  Joe, thanks for fixing the coffee, tea and juice this morning!!

At 6:39 here this morning, we have a temp of 54 degrees, going for a high around 64.  Still have a chance of a few sprinkles or drizzling rain (20%), and will be cloudy all day.

Larry, have you seen, in catalogs, the "turntable" that will let you turn your old LPrecords, 8-track tapes, and cassettes over to CDs?  Wonder how many 45s you could put on a CD.

Joe, could you fix my omlette w/sausage, green & red peppers, onion and cheese, please?  With this head cold I seem to have picked up somewhere, instead of not having an appetite, I'm hungrier than usual.

Everyone have a great morning, and after breakfast, I'll be working on the SUNDAY DINNER menu.

The software, etc, is available that will allow you to connect your existing turntable (or other audio device) directly to your computer and create music files.  My daughter is already working on a list of the LP's I have that were hers and of which she wants digital copies.

You can even set it to leave in or take out the characteristic "pops".

Hawaiian, please.

Just above freezing here, and it can't figure out if it wants to rain or snow.  The rain gauge shows the first liquid precip of the year, but I think it's snow melting into the collector.

Had a nice visit with daughter and SIL, and got my late Christmas gift - a record turntable and the software to turn my old vinyl into digital files.  This'll keep me busy for a while just figuring out what songs I want from what albums.  And I've got well over 130 albums to work with....

Hey Dan!  Long time to see/hear!!  Where you been hiding?  Work?

Here is the SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST MENU:

1.  Anchovie
2.  Canadian bacon
3.  Cheese w/extra cheese
4.  Goetta
5.  Hawaiian
6.  Mushroom
7.  Pepperoni/sausage/mushroom
8.  Supreme

For dessert tonight, we have all the cakes and pies that I baked yesterday.   You know, chocolate cake, yellow cake, white cake, apple, cherry, chocolate and pecan pies.  Think there's even a blackberry pie or two there also.

Think we're still getting light rain periodically, probably will for the rest of the night.   You all take care, and have a great evening.

Well, the warm front is supposed to bring temps to the upper 40's today. (Laughing as he pours another cup of coffee) But hey, at least the below freezing temps at night are over for a few days.

Two days ago we had a high of 9 above...lol.  At 40 the jokes of 'Get out the shorts!' start flying!  Laugh [(-D]
