Wow!  That was a quick remodelling job!  Looks good in here!

Nice day today - all the favorites on the grill!

Absolutely!  I can accomodate pretty much any of those requests.  Since it appears the 'dinner rush' is over I'll put the leftovers on the warmer bar and get containers ready for those who need them.  Note to MC: no salsa in the Gator Juice, but a nice Picante sauce has been known to warm up persons that are feeling a bit chilly.  There's some in the back near the GJ container.

Okay, looks like we've been moved again (and only after 9 months)!  Guess we'll all adjust to the change.  We have before.

Dan, could I have an extra large beef burrito deluxe, enchilada style, with some chips and con qaso dip?!?!  Sounds like that would hit the spot right now.  Along with a tall glass of sweetened iced tea, please.

Ed, and everyone, the therapist told me today, that I'm ahead of schedule in my therapy!!  Not too sure about that, myself, but he is the expert, so I'll go with what he says.  I may even be off the walker and back on my cane, when I go back to the doctor, for my post op visit, next Tuesday.

Everyone have a good evening, and take care!!

Bergie seems to be suggesting that we start a new thread whenever the season changes.  I'm not sure I understand what the problem is with a long-running thread like this.

Geez, I go on a weeklong tour and the place gets completely remodeled!!

Been busy here, currently in Seymour, IN, on my way to Atlanta with a load of beer boxes.  Had a loaner truck last week for about four or five days, Did not care for it, and my back was in pain for half those days.

I'll pass on the Mexican dinner, Dan, don't need to blow the back wall out of the sleeper!!

Glad to hear you are healing up fine, CW, wish you well on your continuing recovery.

To the sleeper...

Good evening everyone.

(Orders two soft-shell beef tacos)

Speaking of something train-related, does anyone know what a "beanery" that serves trains crews were like? I remember they were called this name because they often served bean soup as part of the menu. I remember in Portola, CA there was a restaurant near the ex-Western Pacific (now Union Pacific) railroad yard that was open 24 hours a day and kept it prices low due to payment from the railroad to keep it open at all hours to serve railroad crews. (There's got to be something similar in Dunsmuir, CA, since that is also a crew change point on the ex-Southern Pacific I-5 line.

I see that there was a late rush today.  No matter, we've always got extra!

I guess I'll put the lights on a motion sensor.  After a few mins of quiet they'll turn off and if the door opens (even the kitty door) they'll kick on.

Glad to hear that things are going well for you CW.

On a sad note:
Sunday I was railfanning in FDL and met another railfan.  His name was Alan and we chatted for a while about trains, life, and nothing at all.  I left the yard around 3 PM or so.  Today I heard that he was killed while railfanning there several hours after I left.  God rest his soul.Angel [angel]

Be careful out there folks, please.  I don't want to lose any more friends.

Have you contacted the police about the man's name?  According to an article in the Northwestern the police said he had no identification on him and they did not know his name.

Good morning! It looks like I'm the first one in the Diner this morning. I've got the coffee brewing and I've mixed a fresh batch of orange juice. I'm leaving a large assortment of rolls and donuts from the local bakery here on the counter. The donuts should go well with freshly brewed coffee.

I hope everyone out there has a good day!

That almost made me cry, My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

A bagel and some tea for me, it's a very dreary rainy day here in Florida...Kind of reminds me of a Jimi Hendrix song

What a sad story. How could something likethis happen? Hope he wasn't despondent and went there to commit suicide.

Dan, so very sorry to hear about your new railfanning friend.  That is so sad.  I'll be remembering his family and friends, count on it!!

My knee seems so much better this afternoon.  I'm walking a little bit straighter on it, and not having to take as many pain pills.  That I'm very thankful for, as they put me to sleep, very fast!  Don't remember the dosage, right off hand, but it seems that about a half hour, 45 minutes after I take one, I'm falling asleep, and I don't like that.

Brian, I'm with you, as far as figuring out why we needed to start a new thread so quickly.  Maybe on of these days, it'll be fully explained to all of us.  And I sure do miss Mookie being in here.  Hope she comes back very soon!!

I'm working very slowly on supper for tonight.  Beef and noodles w/salad, home fries, green peas w/carrots, and a couple of Jell-O salads.  Should be ready and on the warmer bar by about 5 p.m.
