Where has everyone gone?  This place is getting quieter.

That could be interesting...but I doubt it somehow.

All I know is I'm not giving up and going anywhere.

Hello everyone.  Sorry I haven't been in today; been feeling a little bit under the weather today.  Nothing serious, probably have caught a  virus.  Just a general sick feeling in the tum-tum.

I made two things for supper tonight:

1.  pork chop abracadbra and
2.  vegetable beef soup w/cornbread

Think I'll  fix myself a bowl of soup, and then take it easy the rest of the evening.  You all take care.

Well, life's just been nuts.  Fortunately, things are winding down a bit at work, and the regular RR season is about over, leaving only "Polar Express."

And I haven't even gotten any of the work done around the house I promised myself I'd do.

Bad accident this morning - SUV rolled over (I'm guessing he swerved to miss a deer, but we'll never know).  Only one occupant, and we delivered him to the helicopter alive, but he later succumbed.  Kinda puts a damper on your day.

Soup and cornbread - comfort food.  I'm in.

This poor soul's example is a sobering reminder of the importance of practicing safety in all arenas of life as we know it, particularly when it comes to driving. Safety begins with each of us.

Happy B-Day [bday] Larry!!  Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday] Happy B-Day [bday]

Hope your day today is going better than yesterday.

Thanks for letting me know your preferred birthday menu Larry!!  Here is the BIRTHDAY DINNER FOR TODAY:

Pot roast, mashed taters, lima beans, cole slaw.  Annnnndd, for DESSERT:

GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE (actually,  two  whole sheet cakes have been made).

Thank goodness I had plenty of help with the decorating!  I am definitely not up to being on a ladder yet!!  It takes me a half hour to walk two blocks!!  But, the good news for you all is:  as of today, I will resume full cooking/baking duties here in the Diner.  Hope that pleases you all!!  (Of course, it'll take me all morning, after I get breakfast going, to work on the lunch menu, and then all afternoon, for the supper menu.  But I'll enjoy getting back into the swing of things.)

And Larry, once again:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

And if I may chime in, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Larry! Happy B-Day [bday]Happy B-Day [bday]Happy B-Day [bday]Happy B-Day [bday] I think I will contribute a batch of my chocolate chip cookies with mint/chocolate chips for desert after dinner tonight. I seem to remember that Tree once told me that he likes cookies that are made using mint/chocolate chips.

Dan and Ray, thank you both for your contributions to the noon and evening meals!  It's greatly appreciated!!

The next round of roast, taters, carrots, etc., are now on the warmer bar, along with leftovers from Dan's lunch.  There's plenty for everyone!

Joe and Lance, there are containers made up, and in the fridge, for you all to take to work tonight.  As usual, your names on the the containers.  And you even have some birthday cake for dessert tonight.

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL:  Thank you all so very much, for keeping things going in here, while I've been recuperating (and continue to recuperate).  Starting this Thursday, I'll be going two or three days a week to outpatient physical therapy for extra work on the knee, to get it working even better.

Have a great evening, everyone, and keep up the good work around here!!

Good Wednesday morning to one and all.  Joe, thanks so much for making the coffee, and juice this morning.

On the warmer bar, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns and home fries, bagels, bear claws, and some fresh fruit.

Here in the Metro area this morning, we have very cloudy skies, no sun shining yet.  Believe there were some areas in the outskirts of the Metro, who did wake up to fog this morning.

Do I have any requests for lunch menu today?  Other than leftovers from supper last night.  Looks like it was a very slow night in here.

You all have a good day, and take care.

Good morning everyone.

How about meatloaf with peas and mashed potatoes for lunch? Dinner [dinner]

By the way, the weather is really changing in my area. We've been getting cold nights and even some rain, too.

Meatloaf for lunch is an excellent idea. When I was a kid I used to turn my nose up at meatloaf, my Mom would make it every once in a while as it was one of my Dad's favorite dishes. I have since then discovered that left-over meatloaf when it is cold, makes the one of the best sandwiches for lunch. Dinner [dinner]

It's cold and wet here in Sioux Falls, and we have a gray, overcast sky. We had gotten better than three inches of rain here since Saturday night. I got up this morning at 6:30 and our temperature then was 49 degrees. I don't think it will get much warmer than that today.

Well, looks like meat loaf w/peas and mashed taters is the suggestion for today's lunch.  So, I've got it all made, along with some salad, corn, and applesauce for lunch.  Everything's on the warmer bar, so come help yourselves, and enjoy.

Looks like we may be in for a little bit of bad stuff tonight, and in the morning.  Hope everything has cleared up, by the time I have to leave for my PT.
