Ready when the food is!

I did find a fun slide I didn't realize I had.  Back in '93 my parents let me borrow their camera and go to Neenah to take pictures of 'train stuff'.  At the time they mostly had things put on slides.  I was helping them sort out a box of things and we came across some of these slides.  One of them was an ex-CNW GP9 FRVR 4506.  Kinda made my day.

Okay, I've got supper ready.  It includes everything I fixed for lunch today, along with leftovers from yesterday:  roast, taters, carrots, and the Mexican Fiesta that Duff also contributed last night.

Joe, got your lunch for tonight taken care of.  It's in the fridge, with your name on the containers, as usual.

Now, everyone grab a plate (or 2), head on over to the warmer bar, and fix your plates.  I don't want any leftovers tonight, o.k?

Dan, glad to hear you found some very nice slides.

I'm a bit late in showing up this morning, but I've got the coffee brewing and I got your favorite coffee cup out of the cupboard, Mookie. The coffee should be ready in a few minutes. And I've got a fresh batch of orange juice ready for pouring.

On the menu for breakfast this morning: Oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage links, raisin bread and cinnamon rolls, buttermilk pancakes and french toast with plenty of maple syrup. Chef [C=:-)]Dinner [dinner]

I hope everyone out there has a good day!

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  We are now getting rain, and are under a Tornado Watch until 10 a.m.   Supposed to be very warm (predicting a high of 85 here in the Metro area), and high winds.  Hopefully, I'll make it back home from rehab, before the late afternoon round starts.

Ray, think I'll take some oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, and buttermilk pancakes for breakfast.  Woke up HUNGRY this morning.  That hasn't happened for over a month, now.

Think I'll fix some open-face roast beef sandwiches, mashed taters and gravy, green beans, sliced carrots, and cole slaw for lunch today.  Will also work on some pizzas for supper tonight.  Figured we have some baseball fans around here, who'll be watching the game tonight, to hopefully see Cleveland go on to the World Series, and that'll be a nice supper for you all.

Uh oh, weather radio is going off.  Better go  see what's happening.

....Temp now 67.6 and a bit windy.  1" of rain overnight and we sure can use that....and we too are under some weather threats until 10 and as I note, that time just passed.

Partly sunny today and more threats this evening of severe weather.  Overnight destruction down south west of us shows tornado action that ripped up plenty of homes.

Almost all of Indiana is in the moderate threat for this evening and later tonight.

Windy and warm and some sunshine seems to be it for today, before the threat really moves in this evening.

Will take a cup of joe and roll for breakfast chased by my 2 new friends.  Viaidion and Ultram had my shoulder rebuilt tuesday and I fell VERY MUCH ALIVE right now.  Can not use my right arm for 6-8 weeks and also have 6 months a rehab ahead of me.  I ended up with 3 torn ligaments and 2 torn tendons and a busted humorous head inside the joint the worst part is I hate is feeling useless right now.

Good luck with the rehab Ed.  I hope all goes well!

I'll try a cup of coffee this morning (first one ever!) and see if that fully can wake me up.

Mookie called Epilepsy and having a seizure and face planting onto CONCRETE Memorial Day with my arm straight out in front of me.  I dislocated it to the rear and messed it up big time to the point I had to see the Team Docs of the Bulls and White Sox for it to get fixed right.  Thank God for Medicare and Medicaid to pay for his bill.  His presurgical consult was 2K alone that was hat he billed Medicare.  What was supposed to be a one hour surgery normally took 3 hours to do.

Ed - oh my goodness.  We have enough aches and pains in getting older without adding injury!

Well sounds like you had good medical care and now mending.  At this rate, we will have to open a wing of the diner for recuperation and rehabilitation!

Speaking of rehab, I got home about 1/2 hour ago.  Ended session with big ice pack wrapped around knee for about 10 minutes or so.  Felt pretty darn good!!

We are under a tornado watch until midnight.  Looks like some thunderstorms may be on their way into our area.

Got the pizzas out of the oven, and on the warmer bar.  On tonight's menu:

1.  Canadian bacon
2.  Cheese
3.  Mushroom
4.  Goetta
5.  Pepperoni/sausage/mushroom
6.  Hawaiian
7.  Supreme
8.  3 dessert pizzas, with apple, peach and cherry

Everyone have a good evening, and those in this weather pattern, take care!!

Joe, hope you all don't get what we've been having wewather wise this evening, the NWS

Radio has been going off since about 4:00pm. Tornado watches, severe thunderstorm warnings, and Tornado Warnings.

We just got out from a tornado warning about an hour ago, with more to come tonight.

Seems there is another set of severe storms following the same path this

one has taken. Damage reports are starting to come in now, but so far there doesn't

seem to be anything major; thankfully.

Ed, hope your ReHab does go well, just keep at it.

Mook, if we do open a rehab wing here, I hope I get  some help with it! As it is,

I've already got one to work with.

grampaw pettibone, I haven't seen, or heard "Far Out" used for a LONG time,

just wondering if you might be a big John Denver fan?!

Good Friday morning, everyone!  Glad to have survived all the wild weather we had here, yesterday afternoon, and last night.  Several buildings in the East End of the city, were damaged, but thankfully, no serious injuries or deaths have been reported.  But there sure is going to be a lot of cleanup going on, after daylight!!

Tom, are you by chance a John Denver fan??  He's about the only one I remember ever saying "Far Out!"   He was definitely one of my favorite singers.

I've got all kinds of doughnuts and danishes laid out on the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  chocolate covered long johns, chocolate covered, cream filled doughnuts, glazed and cake doughnuts, apple, peach, cherry, raspberry danish, bear claws, and even bagels this morning.

How did everyone else manage through the night, with the storms and tornado watches/warnings?!?!  Definitely hope that everyone is safe and sound this morning!!

Wellll, Morning glory and how yall is?? CW, I never heard Denver use the term. It is a holdover from back in the 60s for me, along with a few others we old fogeys used to bellow all the time. I am a creature of habit and ain't above dropping such rarities as those, and maybe a kopasthetic or two from time to time. We expect rain today for a change, which will be much appreciated. Gotta go check my possum trap and see if there will be anything for supper this evening.

Joe - the local bank is putting up their Xmas Tree?

Mutt - I am almost sure I heard Dan say he would help in rehab.....

Mid October and we will be sunny and mid to high 70's on Sat.  Toot!

Little bit country.  Car hit a horse on the county road yesterday.  The horse hit like a deer and smashed in the windshield and bent the frame and dash so the driver was trapped.  Car caught fire.  Sheriff deputy and passerby pulled him out.  Burned foot, but ok.  Horse and car both went away, permanently.  Probably felt like he hit a train!

Mischief awaits!

....How much we can count on the weather folks for the long range forecast is questionable....but...they are saying this part of the country will have warmer than average temps. and above average precip. this upcoming season.  Anyone's guess just what we might get.

Two nights ago as the weather system was working it's way towards us we received 1" of badly needed rain.  Last night, when the really bad stuff was to get to us....we had a bit of wind...brisk, and just .2" of rain overnight.  We got off easy...nothing of storm in our immediate area.  Moon was shining here last evening...

Still a bit windy this morning and in and out sunshine and it was 62 degrees as we started our day.

Mookie, if you like, I'll fix up some to-go containers for you to take home for your and Driver's supper tonight.  Let me know, and it's taken care of.

..............Yes, C W....we're glad it managed to miss us.  Somehow those kinds of storms moving in from the southwest or west, do so, quite often.  Seem to split just west of our county sending the nasty stuff north and or south of us.  But not always.
