100 Great Northern brass steam, plus some brass GN diesels and electrics along with 2 GN gas electrics. The majority of the rest of the brass are camelbacks (an addiction I picked up) and miscellaneous articulateds. Then there are a lot of zamac steam, diesel and 3 electrics, plus the usual plastic locos. Forty years ago my goal was to someday own 100 GN steamers, after getting a sale list from a fellow in MIssouri. He had for sale about 4-5 GN Pacifics and I thought that must be great having not just one of a particular wheel arrangement sitting in the engine facility. I was finally able to accomplish my dream.
In narrow gauge brass, 5 EBT Mikados and a pair of articulateds also.

I gues I'd have to agree with the other folks you have basically said they have wayyyy too many locomotives. (I do.) But, I also agree with the person who asked if you can ever have enough. [:)]

I have... a lot. It's a disease. [:I] But, it keeps me out of trouble. For the most part.

Of the fleet, maybe a half dozen are on the work table in various stages of having details added or other work done. Another dozen are in the same shape, but in boxes left over from a previous household move. One is on my computer desk. The rest are in their boxes, stacked in a bookcase next to the work table, waiting for their turn....

I have a huge roster of... 1 (or 2) locomotive(s), depends on what you count a permanently coupled B unit as. My Athearn Genesis CB&Q F-3s will get superdetailed this year. They have a more than likely chance of joining a Proto 2000 0-8-0 or 0-6-0 steamer when I go to a large train show this summer (it will be lettered CB&Q also.). I'd like to buy a few Santa Fe engines after I build a layout, since right now I'd like to model Galesburg, IL with Burlington and AT&SF power.

I own over 20 for a 2 1/2 x 5 ft N scale layout. Some are farther along than others, but that's part of the process, and there is no rush since an operating session only requires two or three.

The thing is, I like detailing engines, so I have different "sets" of engines, from different roads and different time frames. For example, one set is a pair of GP7s an a GP30 in a mid '60s Southern paint scheme, while another set is a Clinchfield GP38 and GP38-2 as they would have been in the late '70s.
