ON SECOND THOUGHT, I'd like to have a BLI NW-2, BLI heavy Mike, and a BLI Santa Fe 3751 Northern, too. To see these locos at a train show with no money to buy them is pure torture-once at a GATS show I saw a BLI E-7 in CB&Q silver streak paint...[^][:D]

About 70, all eagerly awaiting the completion of the new layout. Now I finally have enough space for them. My wife understood we had to find a layout room with a house attached. We found a house with a detached garage/workshop (26x36). Have been finishing it since August. This will be a big change from the little 10x14 room I used to have.

A lot of Rio Grande and SP, but my UP roster has been growing. Also a few BNSF, NS and CSX for variety.

Sounds very similar to my situation. We found a new house (with room for trains at the insistence of my wife) and I started construction of the Siskiyou Line in May of 1991. Been having a great time, and the layout's now going on 14 years old.

I model mostly SP but I have need for almost 70 locos for the layout to run all the trains as planned. Am most of the way there at this point, with just a bit to go.

Since I model the 1980s progressively as 20 years behind the current year, in a few more years, Rio Grande power will start showing up mixed with the SP power as the Rio Grande purchase of the SP happens on the layout.

At last count, about 76, all but 5 have DCC in them, but the others have issues to be worked out before they see decoders.
Not bad considering the layout (modules) are only 24 ft long!

Actually, I had posted the number of locomotives that I own but then I had second thoughts as I didn't want to seem like I was bragging and then there is always the potential for theft. It has happened before from posts on other forums.
