HI GUYZ,

Was a HAPPY YORK adventure.  Started off with Thursdays walking off getting thrown under the bus by BRENT, felt better by walking through the second Hall.  Found BIGFOOT at Scenic Express.  Saw him in a very nice diarama they had there.  Also purchased coal loads for Weaver 4 bay hoppers for $5 bucks each got 5 of them.  Went home, came back down on FRIDAY and PAM and I had breakfast with JANICE(ROYs) WIFE, ROY, JELECTRIC, AFRAY, HUDSONJOHN, JOHNSON, at Round the clock diner.  GOOD EATS and NO ONE gad GRITS.  Went to show and walked and walked and walk also did a lot of BSing with GUYZ I new.  I picked up a Matchbox 1:43 GTO for BRO and that was it.  Had a CTT pics with GUYZ and will post tomorrow.  BSed more with GUYZ and left at 4 PM.  WIFE and I had a nice dinner in Harrisburg.  Picked up 20 bags of Ready mix concrete and came home.  Tired and full belly took MINNIE for walk and fell asleep by 930.  Slept well.

  Sigh

Then spice it up with some of your good humor like you use to do. Thumbs Up

Morning.  Chilly but warming fast.  Back to a warm spell, then chilly early next week and then back warm again.  No deer hunting until next weekend as busy doing Mayor stuff for a weekend and week.

I'm off later this afternoon to Charlotte NC to the League of Municipalities Conference [free meals and all].  Will not be back until Tuesday afternoon.  Will keep an eye on you Yanks with the laptop.

Have a great weekend.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....

It is a gloomy, 48 degrees. Cold and damp. Going up to only 53 today with cloudy skies. Suppose to warm up next week.

Today is an easy day. I have to finish my train project. Some chores around the house. Then, I can relax. Maybe do some reading. Lunch and a nap will be nice.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Looks like Ma & Pa Junction website is gone. I can't get it.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Howdy guys - well it was a long day.  We tried to do a TARDIS ride on the yahoo messenger, but it was screwing up - people couldn't see posts etc.  It got very frustrating for us all.  Char has a cold, Chewy is doing pretty well, Mom is doing well, and the kids are fine.  I stopped at HD tonight on the way home and got a new Ridgid brand shop vac along with some "fine dust" bags for the drywall mess.  Good job on the floor, RT!  Prayers for John, Banks, and Spanky and their families.  TARDIS is ready, so let's get flying!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

SLEET.  Sleet sleet. Laugh Laugh

Good night and sleep tight.

PS: for all you "sleepless in Seattle", go to your local pharmancy and buy their brand of Melatonin.  Start with 5 mg tablet.  Natural sleep aid.  My Dr. recommended it and it works.  For all you "wide eyed", if 5mg does not do it, take two.  Then next time, buy the 10mg.

It's beem a really active day for me. I was on my feet most of the time. Plumbers came in and did their thing and I now have hot and cold running water. That feels great!

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

KRM, 8N, and all, Space Mouse was / is  (haven't seen him in a long time) a great contributor to the Model Railroad forum.   If I recall correctly, without going into a bunch of details, he helped Jeffery out some model railroad things. I'll leave it up to Jeff if he wants to elaborate.  If there was a Presidential position on ANY trains.com forum, SpaceMouse was the man for the job. Jeffery has had the "Spacemouse for president in his sig line for at least the last 4 years that I can recall.

It has nothing to do with politics, or Jeffery abusing his position as a moderator.

I don't understand why people have to  nitpick on forums about such petty stuff

I guarantee that half the people on this forum and any other forum for that matter, wouldn't have the balls to say half the stuff  they type to that persons face.

Good evening all,

Just a quick glance at the forum today.  Not much time.

Jeffrey, glad you got some professional help on the hot water heater.  Sometimes when all else fails, that's the best thing to do.

D.Baker, yes the wall was finished way back in late July I believe.  They did a good job on it but it caused me a lot of aggravation while it was under construction.  I lost two 50 year old Italian Cypress trees in the process.  However, my backyard is a lot more secure now and I never have to look at that neigbor again.  The cost was just about double what we originally thought it was going to be but that's water over the dam now.  Just don't ask me to share cost with neighbors in the future on anything.

I'm still pondering if I will be physically able to be part of the carpet central layout this year at Cal Stewart.  I hate the idea of having to make three round trips to Ontario counting set up on Friday and the show on Saturday and Sunday.

Got to run, more later,

Ray

Well I know have a 32" monitor man is it ever nice. If you have never done it and have a 32" TV you should really try it.

I have a 37" TV. I know for a fact even a 25" monitor won't fit under my layout where my computer equipment is.

48 degrees, it stayed gloomy all day. We had our big meal early, Almond chicken for me, couldn't eat all of it. I'm not sure what granny had but it looked like veggies. Tonight's snack was home made banana splits. I still have lots of banilla for the thingy crew...S.J.

I've had that for a long time. Nobody has ever called me on it.

*

In a five and a half hour running battle with Mr Murphy, no enough pipe and a couple of broken pipe fittings two plumbers got the water heater installed. Not to mention they were in very cramped quarters. Those guys earned their pay today! It took about ten minutes for the tank to fill. I held off on turning it on as I wanted to let it sit for a bit and see if their were any slow drips. During this time I went to see if my toilet was working. It was not. There was a very small trickle of water going into the tank. It might have filled in about three hours! I played around with fill valve, heard a pop and it went to working. Just had a piece of trash caught in it. Then a new problem cropped up. The little copper fill pipe that fills the bowl and holds the flush flapper in place broke off at the base. If it isn't one thing it's another. The toilet still works IF I put the flapper in place manually. I got to looking at the filler tube and noticed it's inside diameter. I thought 'You know, if I JB Weld a piece of PVC pipe inside there so a quarter inch of the PVC sticks out and then JB Weld that end into the hole the fill tube broke off of it should work and that work fix the problem of the flapper as well. I showed the tube to my father and all he said was 'Macgiver strikes again'. We then went out to his machine shop and dug around and found a suitable piece of PVC pipe. No JB Weld or any other glue good for metal in a very wet location. So off I went to Lowes to get the glue. Got home and turned the water heater on. It hasn't been turned on long but the water coming from the hot side of the kitchen faucet is warmer then the cold side. We'll see what happens in an hour. As for the toilet repair, I may do that tonight or I may do it tomorrow. I have the little fille hole in the bottom of the tank plugged off with a ball of aluminum foil right now. Other than that the toilet works more or less normally.

Aloha. Looks like it is clearing after a grey and misty rainy morn. Congrats to the Detroit Tigers! Prayers for Tyler and Hudson's mom. Hope the contractors didn't come back, Bob. Kev, those old chainsaws and leaf blowers always work better. I wish I still had my dad's chainsaw. Huge, heavy but it worked well.

Drove out to the western part of the county this morning to check out a series of barn sales but found nothing interesting. Ate lunch at the diner Bill Murray frequented in Groundhog Day.Yes My big news is I signed up the youngest to go back to the local school. After testing, I think he needs more help than I can give him. Tomorrow meeting with his brother about doing better in college. Fun never ends! Wink

TGIF Yeah

Only 900 miles for business this week. Sure wished I had been able to make it York. I did get to visit one of my favorite train stores in Wheeling where I purchased the new PE reefer for my daughter's layout.

As I perused the new Lionel Catalog, I see a new controller that looks very much like a CAB-1.  Unclear how this will help the Legacy situation for small locomotives. Have you noticed that the Legacy system is only found in sizable locomotives?

Looking forward to running the trains this weekend.

Got my 1962 Homelite that I use to cut logs and pulpwood as a teenager.  Still runs but is HEAVY.  Was one of the first aluminums.  Been great.  Keep it as a "Keep Sake".  In fact, it was sitting right next to the big Stihl leaf blower that someone stole.

Chief, My old neighbor in Plainfield had one of those and yeah they are heavy. Stick out tongue

His looked like this. Is this what you have??

The old Jonsered 49SP was ahead of it's time and is very light weight and had vibration handles and will still out cut the new Stihl Jim next door has. Way back then it was over $300.00  Wink  It is getting hard to get parts if you were to need them so some day i may need to replace it. Nope not tho.

Jeffery, did you consider a on-demand water heater? They don't take up much room at all. Huh?

I thought about that but all the ones I've seen are gas and I don't have gas in my home. Also those systems cost nearly $900 here.

Jeffery, They make them and they are not that bad. $269.95

Jon, I am still using my 34 year old Jonsered 49SP chainsaw. It is one bad machine and has cut tons of wood over the years. The only things I have done to it are replace clutch housing with a power mate setup and a new bar after I bent the original, I also replaced the fuel lines for the reasons mentioned by Banks.

Got two big Stihl chainsaws [one at home and one at the lake].  Lake neighbor [one who is always in $$$ trouble] will buy them, use them once and sell to me for half to one forth the new price.  We all laugh.  Got a cheap Polland.  Its light weight and I cut small stuff with it. They didn't want that heavy thing. Then I have the pole saw for my weedeater.  Love it.  Works great for trimming and sawing up to 4" or 5" stuff.  Take one of the sections out and use it as a saw trimming saplings and etc from shoot lanes in the woods.

Has turned off fair and really warm.  At Town Hall for a few.
