Good evening guys.  Long day and another one tomorrow.  My legs are killing me from all the work, but it could be worse, I could be the one on the table.

Pat, reminds me about the interview that Katie Couric had with a sniper.  She asked if he felt anything when he shot the enemy?  His reply......recoil!

Rich, it has been quite hot here too.  I had hoped we could catch up before you vacate the area, but it seems like it is going to happen too soon.  Good luck with the move.

God Bless,
Dennis

Afternoon all.  Early meeting and then to Town Hall for the ending of the "Y" Summer CAmp kids' seeing exotic animals from one of our citizens [he has lots and has done a show at the White House, BUSH, Good Morning America and Disney stuff].  Then to the office for a few and do some signing,.  Took Finn to Vet [puppy shots] and then back with Burg [yearly].  Not taking both at the same time!!!!  Now to get ready for an Angus Barn dinner.  Then off to the lake house.  OH!  Didn't I tell you?  Wifey's friend can't go so now I can go. Whistling  Wait a minute!!!  Who paid for this place? Disapprove  Later.

Sunny and hot again today.

Chief - was that your school board flap in Wednesday's USA Today?  Maybe 6 column inches on page three including a picture.

Doug Murphy - a trip to God's country!  I'm jealous.  Be sure to treat yourself to a pasty or six while you are there.  Laito's, a few miles west of the Big Mac on US 2 had good ones - if he is still open.  Probably been 20 years since I've traveled in that area.  My dad's uncle used to have a cabin on Lake Michigan at Naubinway.

The EF remained high at work today.  Yesterday's e-mail caused a plant manager's staff level meeting this morning. Evil  Yup, I'm stirring the pot all right.

All for now.

Good evening all,

It was another hot one here.  Spent the day running errands with the wife, mother-in-law, and two of the kids.  Played some wiffle ball with my 7y/o son in the morning before it got too hot.  He won as usual.  Spray painted some craft items for the mother-in-law in the afternoon.  I also snapped some photos of my Lionel Dobson remodel.  The photos are uploaded to that thread.

Pat - Those were some great remarks.

For those facing tornado threats - Hunker down and don't try to win any photo contests.  Those of us who live in NW OK know what you're going through.

Good night,

Joe

 Hello all

Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes.

They released me from the hospital last night. I was following up on some other outpatient stuff on Tuesday and started to go thru the motions again like last summer, only worse. They had a nurse check me out, called for an ambulance ride (#3 in the last year or so), took me to the emergency room at the heart hospital (#5), and admitted me (#3) . Since they did all the heart work-up last summer, they only did the enzyme test several times that night which came back negative. Emergency room doc decided to do an ultrasound and a hydascan (more fun w/ radioactive isotopes) yesterday. Ultrasound came back negative like last summer, but the hydascan finally figured it out. Gall Bladder (cholecystitis to Dennis). The nuclear medicine unit at the Heart Hospital gets a big tour of the 'scope in the fall. They don't do that stuff there do they discharged me last night, but before I left between the unit there and my doctor's office I had an appointment w/ a surgeon set up for today. I am scheduled for surgery next Friday at 3PM which is good because I am going thru my "phases" almost constantly now.

So how is your week going?Smile,Wink, & Grin

P.S. NavyJack - hope you made it ok thru the tornado warning

Morning, heading in for another long day.  Bob, glad they figured it out.  Now to get that taken care of....one less thing to worry about.

Pat, one more story of life back in Hackensack....the local PD was doing a stake out with 3 detectives in a unmarked car.  Right across the street, a local thug was attempting to rob a Chinese restaurant.  The thief fired a round in the air as he was leaving the place....the cops fired over 100 roundsDead  Guess he won't rob anyone else!

Have a great weekend everyone

Good morning all,

It is HOT in SE Indiana with temps already near 80 heading north of 90 today.  Thunderstorms and heavy rain wiped out any interest in soccer practice for me last night.  They may have practiced, but traipsing around in six inches of water really does nothing for enhancing soccer skills.  Stayed home and read latest issue of CTT.  I liked the article on the 1960 Lionel offerings.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast with an added doughnut.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

 Mike C. from Indiana

PS  Bob, glad to hear they found the cause of your issues.

Good morning all,

Likewise for the heat here today.  Today is our daughter's 9th birthday.  She has one more day of theater direction before their show tomorrow.  We will take her to the Olive Garden for dinner tonight.  It is her favorite place to eat which is odd for three reasons: I am Italian and know how to cook real Italian food; the wife is a trained cook and makes outstanding Italian food; and lastly, our daughter is allergic to wheat (contained in most flours used to make pasta and bread).  If she eats wheat her skin breaks out a little and becomes itchy.  We can control it with medicine, but I don't think its worth the hassle.  She loves the salad, and no doubt she will ask to have some breadsticks tonight.  We may allow her since it is her birthday and just preload her with some Benadryl which keeps the itching at bay.

I hope everyone is feeling well and having a great Friday.

Mornin' Fellas.

Buckeye - It is supposed to hit 103 here in MD tomorrow. If I wanted to live in Death Valley I would have been committed. This is simply INSANE! Not 5 months ago we had 60+ inches of snow on the ground... oh to harken back to the blissful days of winter...

huh...

what is that?

seems there are a few guys in white jackets here...

Bob,

        Glad you're back.

I'll take this heat over snow any day.  I don't need any more winter weather to make that baseball-sized hole in the Sunfire's rear subframe any bigger.Blindfold

The laptop started acting up again this morning.  I can't figure it out.  The power supply is outputting its rated 18.5V, but the laptop doesn't even acknowledge that the power supply is plugged in and just runs off the battery.  Any ideas on this?

I just picked up an AF green 718 mail car.  RT will probably be after me now.Smile,Wink, & Grin

Nothing much new today. Just told the boss when the surgery is scheduled. Turning as many wrenches as I can before they wont let me for a few weeks. Trying to get the brakes done on the Jeep. Since I may be in town for a bit, figured this might be a good time to sell it.

Unfortunately, every time I eat I go thru my phases. Wish I could just forget about eating for a bit. It's taking everything I got just to change the rear brakes. Taking a break right now. A lot of fun when it's hot and humid and you already have a condition that makes you sweat. As Laz says, stay frosty.

Aloha! Hang in there, Bob. Praying for you. Decided to avoid the hours-delay on I-40 west near Ashville and travel Savannah>Atlanta>Chatanooga>Nashville, staying somewhere in KY. Then Louisville, Indy (hopefully avoiding Brickyard traffic) and finally Chicago. I'll probably regret the routing. Sure like the drive though. Thought of both 8n and Charlie plotting out the UP trip, ya hey...

 Hello all,

Hot and humid here, still getting the occasional teaser rain. Really need an all day soaker.

Son got oats finished. sold 'bout half of them for $2.30/bushel. Enough to cover cost. The rest will be feed and about 1/2 of what remains will cover cost of fuel for fall plowing. May bale straw tomorrow.

Getting ready to travel to Delaware Seashore State Park. Four new tires on the camper today. May or may not get to check in before we leave.

In case I don't..............

Fife, I'll be lookn for ya

Sub bob, prayers for you too. My Mrs was having issues a few years ago. Several medium size gall stones were removed. Six months later she had another "attack". Endoscopy revealed severe acid reflux. Now much better after treatment.

Howdy guys - just getting ready to go visit the in-laws tomorrow.  It's their 50th anniversary celebration.

Bob - my wife when through that, glad they figured it our and hope the days fly past you and you are all healed up in no time.  They thought she was having a heart attack too, but luckily her doctor spotted it pretty fast.

Nice chats with RT, then Jeffrey, and then Sir James tonight.  Said "Hi" to Doug too, who is also packing.

Tardis is ready and I think I will take some pee-can icecream again, just to be ornery!  Laugh  Pat, are you driving or is it Mike?

Could be the power jack where you plug in the charger cord. This is a common failure point, the internal solder connections crack and the laptop will only charge intermittently and eventually, not at all. There are several places online that will do a repair for around 100 bucks.

Doug,

It is a bit frustrating when things like this happen.  I was looking at Acer until I read some bad things regarding the customer service.  I eneded up with a Compaq CQ50 series.  If it does need an expensive repair, I'd probably just save for another.  Upgrading is good.Smile
