Dennis,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I've also thought of relocating the stuff in my room to the basement and using the empty space to build the layout, but I am not sure if that would fly.Smile

Rich,

Sorry to hear of your uncle's passing.  I missed that earlier.

Jim, How about a "narrow shelf layout" up towards the ceiling ?

Good evening all,

John/Hudson - Sorry for your loss.

I hope all those who are sick, or have family members who are sick, get well soon.

CNW - Congratulations on being an uncle.

Fife - I'm not a NASCAR fan, but those are pretty sharp looking cars.  Thanks for posting the photos.

Greenprobe - That is quite the dilemma to have.  I hope you can come up with something to save the PW layout.

Today was another fine day of relaxation, except for the hour-long teleconference I had to sit it on.  I completed the renovation on my Lionel Dobson house.  It is now a few inches shorter.  I need to do some touching up to it, but I should be able to post pictures tomorrow.

Good night,

Joe

Congratulations Uncle Dougy!

I'm not really worried or upset about the re-orginazation at work, 'cause this one actually makes some sense.  I've been working with tooling for, and development of, new product for a little over a year now.  I've been reporting to a manager who is responsible for production.  Doing both new product work and production support is like trying to travel north and south at the same time.

The EF (entertainment factor) of this re-orginization went up a couple of notches today.  I told my current boss about it this morning, and got a deer in the headlights reaction from him.  Nobody had told him yet that I was being reassigned!  So I stir the pot a little more by sending out a e-mail to the involved managers and HR asking very politely when the re-orginization will be taking place.

What bothers me, is the way it is re-orginization being rolled out.  We've grown so 'lean' that we are all busy enough that details like this get lost in the shuffle.  No malace was intended.  You can sit and stew about it, or fix it & move on and enjoy the entertainment along the way.  In the end, things like this really don't matter.

Prayers of hope, encouragement, and healing.

All for now.

Big prayer request.  Bob M. is not working his big telescope but is in the hospital.  Was carried to cardiac but then found out they need to remove his gall bladder.  I suggest Dennis put him to sleep and I will "snatch" out his gall bladder. ShockWhistling

Back from the lake house.  Almost finished equiping new console for pontoon.  Will install on next trip up [Monday or Tues].  Had some rain but needed more.  Got some here too.  Mowed grass Monday.  Can't tell it now.  Hot and humid.  Record temps and dew points as if it were in LA around New Orleans.  Heat indexes to hit 110 or above by the weekend.

Mom is now in hospital bed in her living room.  Likes it there as lighter and can see out two windows and front door.  That is when she is not asleep.  Not eating.  Only a few sips of Ensure.  Choking and gagging a lot.

Wifey going to lake house tomorrow night with friend from work.  Might get some train time in as I will be home with Burg [low maintenance].  Finn does great at the lake house.  Different "animal" there. Laugh

Will get to read forum later.  Busy day tomorrow.  7:30 meeting in Raleigh tomorrow AM.  Then by Dunkin Donuts for coffee [4 lbs], Lowes for an airless paint sprayer, Rolesville to greet the YMCA campers at Rec Dept and then Finn to Vet for his boosters.  Dinner tomorrow night at famous steak house in Raleigh [free]. Dinner

Popcorn and Coke Zero time.

Chief - Prayers for your mom and our friend Bob Angel

Doug M - Congrats on the new Uncle title.

Jim (Green 97) - maybe we can make some moeny selling whale repellent to the Fifer Evil

John (Hudson) - around here - a hint of lightning and if you are slow to react - one waits in a long line at the boat ramp to get out of the water. Again - sorry for your loss.

Fifer - the cars are great - especially that #5 car - but what is with that #18 car? Looking to have a bad boy in the mix?

Good morning all,

I am not sure what the weather will be in SE Indiana, maybe some rain.  Could have used a thunderstorm last night to cancel out our game as we played our worst game of the season and lost 5-3.  We went from 1st to 3rd and looked terrible doing it.  We might win one game next week, but that will be it.  The Chief does have interesting school board meetings, based on the media reports.  I had the regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a foggy 68 degrees. Going up to 84 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is a busy day. Lots of chores to do and an errand to run. I don't think there will be any train time today.

Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

 Hello all,

Hudson, my condolences.

Chief and Sub Bob, Prayers for your needs.

Fife, nice cars. I'll watch for you on the 25th. I'll be driving a  Dark Blue S10 Blazer w/ 19' Camper.

Probe, Sounds like the Toy place is in the Hardware store that closed a couple of years ago. After your reply I realized we didn't take time to stop in Berlin last year. We stayed to long on the beach and wanted to beat the crowd at our favorite restaurant. As for the AF layout. How about a 3rd level?

Busy here. Getting camper ready. It hasn't been out since last year. Four new tires today. Lots of tread left but getting cracked.

Prayers for  all who may need them

Mornin' boys.  'Tis hot.  That whale photo and story seem a bit contrived.  I've read accounts of whales bumping boats out in the ocean, but nothing of Moby Dick attacking a sailboat.

dwiemer - Actually got to spend a whole afternoon with RP on a security detail a few years back.  Have to figure out how to scan the photo and post it here.

Good afternoon Ya'll from Partly Cloudy Cape Ann Taxachusetts,

We got some rain overnight but nothing to write home about.  Temps continue in the mid to high 80s this week.  Took the family out to dinner last night at Bugaboo Creek to "officially" celebrate granddaughter #1's actual B-day.  Granddaughter was thrilled.  Smashed everyone into one vehicle (not mine), a 7 passenger Nissan Quest along with all of the stuff we took with us.  That sucker has impressive space, utility, and comfort.  Worth a strong look for anyone interested in acquiring a minivan.  And the Quest has impressive power, standard, even when fully loaded.

Lucky thing Chief has been so busy.  If he read half of the stuff we have been writing about him or had time to respond, some of us would have to enter the witness protection program.  Laugh

Chief.....continued prayers for your Mom and the family.  Hang in there, buddy.

SubBob.....prayers, brother.  Not fun.  We all are pulling for your complete and speedy recovery.  We'd come visit you but would probably be screened out by security at the hospital front door.  "Mr. M., there was a bunch of disreputable-looking and disruptive knuckleheads downstairs looking for you, but we've got them in custody.  One of them kept babbling on, something about your needing grits with red eye gravy and sweet iced tea.  Had to tazer him because he kept protesting 'Don't you know who I am?' "  Whistling

SJ......hope Granny is making great progress.  Continued prayers.  I can picture her standing out in the yard yelling "Hey, Jimmy, get with it!  It looks like a five year old cut this grass!"

HudsonJohn......prayers for your loss.  I spent a couple of days pondering what you said about losing someone who was like a second father to you.  I lost that person last year after a 45 year run.  I miss him.

MikeC.....SIL and partners-in-crime took in the Celtic/Sporting soccer game at Fenway last night.  He was disappointed, was rooting for Sporting.  Capacity 36,000 jammed into the old park.  Sorry your team lost last night, could have sewn up a first place finish for the season.  Sad

Roy.....love your posts, and glad to see that you are able to spend some time closer to the (Texas) ranch.

Chuck......no mention of your health club visit yesterday?  How lonely was it?  Wink

Banks.....re camping.  We have similar plans with family.  Wife not happy.  Vermont is on the schedule.  My wife exclaimed: "An outhouse, no private showers, no a/c, cooking and cleaning, bugs, no queen-sized bed?"  I think she is presently looking for a nearby Holiday Inn.  A couple of miles from Lake Champlain.

Uncle CNW.....nope, that doesn't sound quite right, Doug.  Congratulations on your unclehood. Re your upcoming trip to Michigan's upper peninsula....beautiful, unspoiled country.  Iron Mountain is up there, in the middle of nowhere, has an Olympic-sized ski jump worth seeing.  Don't try it on roller skates, roller blades, or a skateboard.  In other words, don't pull a Brent. Smile,Wink, & Grin

JimSP.....Ohio hasn't been wired yet for a decent internet connection.  Big Smile

Fife.....great whites sited off Gloucester, about 10 miles out.  A giant specy of non-indigineous jellyfish stung 130+ on a NH beach.  Pirate  Meanwhile, the MA governor is in Bagdad (?!?) spending taxpayer money instead of staying close to the ranch and doing something constructive about closing a massive budget defecit.  We need jobs and fiscal responsibility, not political grandstanding.  Banged Head

Rich.....  packing?  Yuk!!!!  Moving.....mega-yuk!!!!!  How are you going to transport the HD?

Pat.....I am trying to convince my FIL that moth balls and poisons thrown down the chipmunk holes will have little effect on the vermin.  Only your suggestion will work: C-A-T.

Later, gang.

Prayers for all in need and our loved ones and friends.  Special prayers for Lady James, Chief's mom and Bob now.

Read that the Stolen Valor law was ruled unconstitutional by some judge?  He said it interfered with free speech.  The bad guys win another one.  Seems to be a lot of that lately.

Well, already took out the trash including about half the bags of debris from the basement.  Watching Rizzoli & Ives, which is a pretty good show.  Tardis will be ready in an hour or so - ttfn!

Bob,

         Angel

I wanted to work on cleaning the AF cars that I bought today, but ended up going to Best Buy twice instead.  On the first trip, I bought Little Big Planet for the PS3 (love it) along with a card to put $20 into my PSN account.  Used that to download Jet Moto and Twisted Metal 2 so I don't have to use my originals or spares.Big Smile  After I got home and fired up the laptop, it wasn't detecting the power supply even though it was plugged into the laptop and the wall outlet.  Back to BB.  Naturally, it was fine when the GS rep tested it.  It is working right now, so I am not sure what was going on earlier.

Oh, before I forget, I bought an AF 740 handcar from the "enemy" last night.Shock  It looked too nice not to take the chance.

Brent,

You should look into getting Little Big Planet once you and The Q adopt the kids.  It is rated Everyone, and I am having a blast with it.  I wasn't sure I'd like it, but I am glad I got it.

Sorry El Brentro.  I learned from the first wife.  Separate in lots of things including bank accounts.

Off to the lake house.  [about to die.  Angus Barn served shrimp and munches.  Then salad.  Then ribs [pork], prime rib and shrimp with potatoes and string beans.  Then they walked out with desert.  A little cheese cake, little pecan pie and a little chocolate pie on each plate.]   Later
