Reclinerized from about 10 PM.  Gang just went out for a pee.  Now off to bed.  Yvonne [caregiver lady] called and said Mom had not urinated nor had a bowl movement in over 24 hours.  Thinks her kidneys have shut down.  Not eating anything solid and just a few sips of Ensure every now and then.  Refuses to swallow her meds [probably can't as she has gorter growing inside her neck].  Think it is a manner of time.  Hospace nurse asked if we wanted her to go to hospital [het IV's] and if stayed home, have a hospital bed for her.  Yvonne told them, "No, "Miss Emma" said she wanted to die in her home and in her bed."  How do you pray for your Mom to die and not feel guilty?  Got to stop the "suffering".  Yvonne says she says she is not hurting so that makes me feel better.  Good night all.

PS: we got RAIN here and at lake house!!!!!!!  Thank the Lord. Angel

Chief, there isn't a way.  But suffice it to say, that your lack of selfishness is wanting what is best for her, not what's best for you.  Went down that rode a couple of times, and as much as I would have liked to have spent a few additional moments together, would want it at the discomfort and pain that would have been required.    No matter it doesn't make it any easier, either.

Our prayers our with you and your family!!

Good morning all (again),

It is sunny for now in SE Indiana but more rain is predicted.  I ran the 10E upstairs in the attic last night.  The cloudy weather combined with a big box fan made the area tolerable.  Very good run with NO pileups.  It was very relaxing and made me realize I need to do this more often.  Finding the right balance among soccer, trains and racing is always interesting.  I enjoy all three, but I sometimes I lose focus and just concentrate on one area.

While the sermon was overly long yesterday (and a bit wandering), it did force me to rethink some aspects of my life.  That is a good thing.  Sometimes we need to hear His message, and we just have to listen (and then act on it as well).  Perhaps this is the too heavy for Monday morning.

I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast as it came in from "Points East".  TBIL after soccer practice.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Again, prayers for the Chief and his family.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning.  Got rain here and in the lake area.  [Praise the Lord]  Hope we get more.  Just found out [actually feeble mind forgot] no County Commissioners today.  They are at the National Conference in Reno.  Spending our tax monies and laying off a few employees.  I'll have to have a chat with them.

Thanks for all the concerns and prayers.  Best group of friends here.  What makes this forum unique.

Grass to mow.  Seems good as have not mowed in weeks due to no rain.  Been a month at the lake house as drier up there.  Picked some beautiful cantalopes yesterday.  Will eats some for breakfast.  BTW: slept till 8 this morning.  No interruption by the gang.

Where is "Jack Rabbit" [Rock Island] and Buckeye [who cares if he is missing? Smile,Wink, & Grin].  Taking a summer break.  We know that LAZ is shoveling coal on the old railroad.  Rich, hope all is going well.  Bob, drop in here and give us a word.  Glad to see the AF Okie is still with us.  Ken, is this your first visit to the Pot?  If so, welcome and thanks.  Hudson is still hanging with us.  Thanks to Doug M, Doug W, RT, Mike, Chuck, Shake and Bake, Pat, Dennis, Sturg, Kurt, Green Probe, Navy, Charlie, Fifey, Brent and others.

BTW: forum is acting up here.  Gets to a point and just holds.  Then suddenly responds.  All my other forums are running great.  Must be the Yanks blocking the pipes so info can't get through.

Good Morning from Hot & Steamy Florida!

Up to 95F and 90+% humidity....wonderful Banged Head

Angel for your Mom, Chief...there is no way to ask for such a thing, but I know it’s hard to let go.  God takes care of everything...

That being said, after many years of suffering from strokes, my Uncle past away Saturday afternoon.  He was 77.  I’d say almost 10-12 years ago, he had a stroke and had been in failing heath since.  My Aunt ran their business and tended to his needs.  Thank God that one of her sons stepped up to help.  Mom was there with my Aunt, that was a good thing, her timing was “good”.  It’s a tough thing, but he is really better off now.

Funeral plans are still pending.

Sunday, I had the honor and privilege to escort some steel from the World Trade Center from the FL/GA border to Daytona.  It’s heading to Bradenton, FL for a future memorial in Manatee County.  Met some great guys, firefighters all, to pay tribute to their 343 fallen brothers.  Even met a few guys from Jersey (Long Branch FD).  I’m so lucky to be part of this Brotherhood of Firefighters!

Things are progressing with the move, I’m a little behind schedule and the Princess and I need a sit down at her request.  More issues, unfortunately, and they don’t concern her per se..

GregM – congas on the job!

John, wish I could have been at the Ice Cream Fair...next year, for sure!

Fife – Looks like an invasion of red trucks this week for you......be careful out there...Smile,Wink, & Grin.

Angel – for those I’ve missed and for our intentions....

Check back later!

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Mornin' Fellas.

Chief - Angel I don't know what to say, other than I wish you and your family the best. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Got the rest of the windows trimmed out to the wall and caulked on Saturday, also got the baseboards hung. Looked very nice. Then Sunday FiL came over and we painted, cut, and hung the mouldings around all 14 windows... tired, very, very, tired. Now need to caulk the mouldings and baseboards then give them a coat of paint. Next have to caulk and paint the crown moulding (I hung it before painting... ugh), then paint, cut and hang the ridge moulding. Still on target for completion this weekend.

CHIEF  ... God bless you buddy in this time of sadness in your mother's illness ... here's a couple little verses that may make you feel a bit better .....

May it make your sorrow Easier to bear knowing there are others who understand and care

There's magic in a Mother's touch, and sunshine in her smile. There's love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile. We can find both hope and courage just by looking in her eyes. Her laughter is a source of joy, her works are warm and wise. There is a kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace, And we see the light of heaven Shining from a Mother's face.

We'll always remember that special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace, she always gave us. Her being there for us through good and bad times, no matter what. We'll always remember her  because they'll never be another one to replace her in our hearts, and the love we will always have for my Mom  .

Sunny and 81, suppose to have rain before morning.

Not a busy day, just a few errands and goofing off after. I had my banilla but got plenty for the Tardis ride...S.J.

Chief......I am sorry I missed a few days on the Pot.  Your Mom has my continued prayers.

I read your question and I have no answers, nothing that would ease your pain or lighten your burden.   A feeling of total helplessness, a son's love for his Mom, and the selfless wish only for her comfort and peace.  There should be no feelings of guilt or shame in these, for they are human and admirable qualities.

Chief,

          Angel

Bob,

        Hope you are feeling better.

Brent,

You must feel good to know that the sunroom is almost done.  If I was closer, I'd do whatever I could to help.  I probably crossed through your and Fife's area going to and from OC.

Even though I was on vacation last week, a trip to Toy Town in Berlin, MD proved that my Flyer itch wasn'tBig Smile  I came out with a nice freight set headed by a 282 Pacific.  I'll get pics asap.  I also spent the week planning an AF layout, and I really want to make it a reality.

Regarding that "situation" I was dealing with before I left, it has been resolved peacefully.

ChiefEagles

How do you pray for your Mom to die and not feel guilty?  Got to stop the "suffering".   Thank the Lord. Angel

Chief, I'll give it a try.  Most gracious and Heavenly Father, We would like to thank you for all the many blessings that you have brought to the Eagles family through the life of Frank's mother.  She has lived a long, full life and as she comes to the end of life here with us, we pray that you would take her in your time, and surrounded by your peace and comfort.  Please also comfort the Eagles family in the grief that they will endure.  May this grief be tempered by the knowledge that Mrs. Eagles knows you as her personal saviour and will be with you in paradise.  May her legacy be one that people will remember her love for you and for her family.  We ask these things in Christ's name...amen.

So sorry you are going  through this.  We will continue to pray for you and your family.
God Bless,
Dennis

Guess the weather was sunny and hot.  Not really sure.

We spent the day hopping from doctor's office to hospital, to doctor's office, to doctor's office.  Tests and pre-admissions stuff.  The good news is that my wife is 'go' for surgery next week.

Chief - pray what is in your heart.  This is probably one of those times when there is only one set of footprints in the sand.  Let the Lord carry you.

Scored a 200 series chassis for parts on E-bay yesterday.  Dual axle magnetraction, 3 position e-unit, and a horn with a rusty battery holder.  Getting closer to having enough parts for an all powered ABA set up.

All for now.

 Hello all,

Crazy busy here, Went to Hill Climb yesterday Did better but still lousy. The wide tire made more difference than I thougt it would.

We've been getting some teaser rains. They help some but a day long soaker would be a real blessing.

Son started to combine oats this PM but one of those teaser rains put a stop to that. looks like it will be an exceptional crop though.

Chief, continued prayers for Mom and you.

8N prayers for your Mrs also.

Fife, I'll be crossing the Bay Bridge on the 25th and 30th. Will you be in waving distance?

Probe. I'm familiar with Berlin MD but not  TOY TOWN. There is a large Antiqe Mall in the Downtown I visit when we go to Assateque Island. Where is it located?  Mrs and I will be spending next week at Indian River Delaware State Park and odds are good we will make a trip to Assateque.

Past my bed time.

Prayers for all who may need them

Prayers for you and your Mom Chief.  Dennis, RT, Wes, Don, and a lot of others have sure offered some great prayers for you and I'll just have to echo what all have said so well.  I pray that she will be in comfort and soon at rest with our Lord.

Char had another biopsy today - I "got to" sit there while they did it.  Her hemoglobin is down again, now to 8.8, so they gave her one of those shots and did extra labs.  She is fatigued, but otherwise doing well.  That was most of my day today, back to work tomorrow.

Tardis will be ready shortly guys, so let's get going!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
