Aloha and good evening. Ray, we fished off Hilton Head Island near the shipping lane into Savannah. Not too deep. Lotsa sharks. Biggest one caught was 39 inches. None of them was happy when caught. All thrown back. I was skunked but had fun. I used live bait - pogies they call them I guess. Small, squirmy.  I also just used cut up fish chunks. We're fortunate with the weathe here. Hot, little rain so far (just a few thunderstorms). Bob, condolences on the loss of your priest friend. Another week of beach time.

Doug, that explains the shark story.  I'm behind on the coffee pot.  I thought you were still in Illinois.  Went to the ocean yesterday on the Southern California coast and went out on a fishing pier at Oceanside, Calif.  I got that out of my system in a hurry.  It looked hot and dirty.  No one was catching anything to speak of except some small smelt and one sting ray.  Only respectable looking fish was probably a surf perch that looked like about a pound or more swimming in a bucket.  I think I'd rather fish in the surf than off one of those piers.  It would be cleaner and cooler at least.

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore, 82, Clear, 58% humidity.

It was a hot one at the Ice Cream Festival today. My wife's store took second place for local (NJ Shops). I went to the Wooden/Classic Boat Show which was a couple of blocks away. Spotted a guy that I worked with carrying a lighthouse figure with a solar light mounted on it. I snuck up to him, tapped him on the shoulder and in a deep voice I said, "Hey, did you pay for that!" With a scared voice as he was turning around he said, "My wife paid for it." When he saw me he started laughing and said that he owed me one. His wife was hysterical.

Navy Jack, it was not as hot as your temps, but it drained us all. My wife is sound asleep.

S.J., You are right. Everything taste good when you use Banilla. I am eating some now.

Thoughts and prayers to all in need.

Hot in Saint Louis today - I think the heat index was 105 or 110?  Worked 5 OT this morning, then picked up some drywall at Home Depot and got my son and nephew to help me carry it to the basement.  That should be enough to finish the bathroom except where I need to do some plumbing behind the shower stall.  Boys will help me on the basement tomorrow - organizing all the supplies that are left over and the tools that got piled up while we moved stuff to the garage.  Progress is being made Thumbs Up

Bob - prayers for you my friend.

Greg - congrats on the new job!  Sounds pretty great to me Thumbs Up

Ray - sounds like a fun ride, hope you don't get sick!

Pat - RT might know the scale?  He has some Lionel Nascar stuff?

Chief, hope you got a good steak dinner, one hot dog is not enough for a day!

Harold - I have one MTH engine and it runs fine, but others have not been as lucky with the older PS1 versions.

Doug - are your kids Shark Boy and Lava Girl?  Ben is Spidey, right?  Sounds like a fabulous vacation Thumbs Up

John, too bad SJ didn't enter his Banilla in your festival, did they have a contest for ice cream too?  RT won a house decoration prize a couple weeks ago Smile

Greg - tomatoes are hanging in there, but not doing very well as far as I'm concerned.  I think they should be a lot bigger by now.

Tardis will be ready shortly, I can hear some pings from the beacons coming on - Banilla: Don't Accept Any Substitutes!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s.  Had a brief thunderstorm roll thru which knocked power out for a while.  My dad and I went to the Indiana Live Steamers track near Camp Atterbury for a public running.  They have a nice setup there with a very long and scenic ride.  After riding the trains, we visited a small outdoor collection of WWII weaponry.  I washed and waxed the PT Cruiser tonight.  Vitor Meira had a horrible qualifying session and will start dead last tomorrow at Toronto.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening all,

It was very hot today, but I hardly noticed since I spent most of it in the house.  Father-in-law took my 7y/o son fishing again.  He goes back to FL tomorrow, but I promised him and my son I would take my son fishing.  I have no clue about fishing, but at least I'll be with my son.  The mother-in-law will be around for another six days to help out.  I am very blessed to have great in-laws.  My wife needed to take it easy today since she is still recovering from the C-section nine days ago.  We went bowling this evening as a quasi birthday party for my son and about to be 9y/o daughter.  All three of our kids were born in July; our wedding anniversary is in October.  If you do the math...

I am looking forward to church tomorrow morning and completing the airport part of our layout.  Good health for all those in need.

Regards,

Joe

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy and humid 70 degrees. Going up to 84 today with rain coming.

Today is an easy day. Time to relax and enjoy the A/C. I think I will run trains this afternoon.  No Nascar race today. I think there is a ballgame. Not much else is going on.

Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning all.  Been real busy on call and will be till Monday.  Have to go in and make rounds after church.  Already done with morning reading and prayers....Yeah, lifted some for a few here in need.

We have a friend who's husband is deployed and so we will meet them out for lunch after church, (and for me, after rounds).  From what SWMBO has said, it will be BBQ today.

Looking forward to getting back to work on the layout.  So many projects that need to be done on it, not sure where to begin. . Guess it will be just pick one and go with it.

God BLess,

Good morning all,

Right now it's a comfortable 77 and partly cloudy; however, today's high is 102.  I woke up at 0515 with the baby.  He was very bright-eyed today and I enjoyed that time with him.  Saw the in-laws off this morning.  Father-in-law had an early flight; mother-in-law was driving him to the airport and going to see other family.  She will be back in a couple of days.

We're hoping my wife is not too sore this morning so we can all attend church.  Service starts in about two hours and she is still in bed.  She just took some pain medication so we'll see how she is in a bit.

Started the morning with a healthy bowl of cereal and now the cinnamon rolls are in the oven.  They are very tasty with a hot cup of coffee.

Joe

Good Morning from the Jersey Shore, 84, 62% Humidity, Windy, Cloudy, Going to 93.

The day started off with a wake up call by the Police Department at 3:45. Someone was prowling around with a flashlight and they wanted us to check our cars to see if anything was missing. Nothing was missing. We have a really good Police Force.

Dennis, I hope that your rounds are routine, enjoy the BBQ. Thoughts and prayers for your friend who is off to Iraq.

Mike, Sounds like you had a great day with your Dad. That WW2 Display sounds interesting.

Joe, You do have great In-Laws. Best wishes to your wife and the baby. Any questions about fishing, I am sure that there are a number of us here that can help you out. Have fun with your son and the Airport.

Greg, Good luck to you and Aaron with the business.

Brutus, Good Luck with the basement project. Our tomamtoes are just hanging, I feel that they should be bigger also.

Doug, Enjoy the rest of the Shore Yacation. This past week we have been invaded by sharks at the Jersey Shore. At first the talk was they were Dolphin, but it was confirmed that they were sharks.

S.J., I will pass it on the congrats to my wife. The Key Lime Pie Ice Cream was real good. Banilla base. One of the competitions is for the best Banilla, from the State to go to the National Competition. They lost by a couple of points.

Chuck, Dining Car brought Bagels with a "Smear" for breakfast.

Thoughts and Prayers to all in need.

Everyone, Enjoy your Sunday

Pat - RT might know the scale?  He has some Lionel Nascar stuff?

Thanks Brutus. I don't know if RT would know the scale of the Lionel NASCAR replica die-cast race cars. As I understand it, they haven't announced it yet. I assume they will be the same scale as produced now by Motorsports Authentics of Concord, N.C. RT - do you know?

Morning all.  Back from Sunday School..  Hot and humid.  Think we might have gotten a half of an inch of rain.  Will mow grass tomorrow AM before County Commissioners.  Then have Mayor's Assoc. BASEBALL [the true American sport] game at the Mud Cats stadium.  Hot dogs, hamburgers and fried chicken [all American foods].  Got a double suite reserved.

Speaking of steak, horrible.  Pam told me Texas Steak House which we love.  Got there and no Pam or her sister.  Called and found out Texas Road House [which I do NOT like].Banged Head  Then ordered steak medium rare and it came over done.  Thin thing too.  They took it back and apologized.  Everyone had finished when I got my new steak.  It was thicker and rare.  Ate it anyway.  They have a poor menu and poor tasting steaks. SoapBox

Everyone remembers Finn at 8 weeks.

Now look at him at 14 weeks.  Twice as tall as Lucy and as tall as Burg.  BIG boy.

Everyone says you can sit and watch him grow. Shock  He is going to be a BIG boy when he gets grown.

Garden to pick and etc.

Hope all have a great week ahead.  All you workers, keep up the good work.  My SS check came right on time last week. Approve

Sorry, John, I must've chased all the sharks north to Jersey. Nice day at the beach with the youngest. The bride even gave me the extremely rare priviledge of getting to clean myself up first whilst she takes the youngest to the pool. She must see something she likes in the one of the shops.

Belated congrats to Greg on hopefully a great new job.

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,

Spent the day getting caught up on chores and I cleaned and waxed the 18' Boat. Planing on going out to Lancaster County Pennsylvania on Thursday with my son and my brother in law Dan expressed interest in going with us. We are planing on going to the Rough and Tumble Museum, in Kinzers for the John Deere Days, Friday/Saturday. On Thursday we are planing on hitting Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop, Plus the Pa. Rail Road Museum. We will also hit the Toy Train Museum, since we are planing on staying at the Red Caboose Motel. We will adjust our schedule to get the most out of the few days.

Fife, Sailing, Steamed Crabs and Beer sum up a great time at Chesapeke Bay. Good Luck on your swim test.

Chief, The last time I ate at a Texas Road House it was terrible. "Forgit About It'. Finn is really getting big.

Doug, The sharks are fun to hook and release as long as no one gets hurt. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Thoughts and Prayers to all in need.

Good afternoon all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  It was a surprisingly good day despite a Mass that was interminably long.  I must have prayed well enough as Vitor moved from 26th to 11th and moved up one position in the points.  Wife, Lucas and I celebrated the good fortune as we went to see "Inception".  A very good, complex film with events occurring at several levels.  Again, this is something Dennis W. would not do, but still there was a clear, moral purpose to the plot.  It is a very long movie.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Howdy guys!  Big storms came through here all morning, but it's quiet now.  Got the boys down in the basement for a few hours and we cleared out about 12 black trash bags full of junk - mostly packaging, cut-offs from drywall, and stuff like that.  Swept up almost everything - just have to go over it with the shop vac now.  We organized the remaining building materials and the tools and stuff, too.  Then I took them out for icecream, gave them each $20, and took them to the Gamestop.  Lunch for me was a banana split Smile

Tardis is ready and the skies appear clear now, so we'll be ready in a few minutes.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening everyone.  John, thanks for the thoughts.  We did have a great lunch and the kids went with our friend to spend time with her and their two kids.  Wife picked up daughter tonight and son will sleep over there.  They are having a good time.  Also gave bride and I a chance for alone time and we watched a movie called "Book of Eli".  Good flick, but with some language.  It did have a great scriptural message.  Tonight, after church, came home to get a phone call from some friends in DC.  He is a secret service agent and they are looking into adoption.

Chief, your "children" look like they are enjoying life.  You and Mrs. Pam must be spoiling the stew out of em.  Looks like the baby is going to run things before too long.

Gotta run, hope everyone has a blessed night.

Good evening all,

Brutus - I am envious of your dinner selection.  I had a leftover BBQ chicken sandwich.

The family and I made it to church today.  It was our first service with the newest addition.  Afterwards, ate some lunch, read the newspaper, enjoyed some coffee, and the Yankees game.

Eventually made it out to the garage to work on the layout.  I started the modification (reducing its length) to the Lionel Dobson house.  I was able to cut it apart with a fine tooth hack saw.  It worked pretty well and I removed about three inches from it.  I still have to smooth the edges and glue it together.  I had created a thread about this modification a few weeks ago.  Once I finish I will post some photos.  I also worked on the airport a little.  I finished the surface by fitting some thin pine on top of the tunnels.  I painted it green to simulate grass.  I laid some sandpaper to act as the runway.  I need to add more detail and I will post photos of it as well.

Just got the kids to bed.  Now its time to relax with the wife.

Good night,

Joe

Evening all!

Back from trip to TN and local time off. The family had a great time. Got four girls up at same time on wakeboards for a new record. No issue pulling them all up at same time - boat's got a lotta torque. Would have tried 5 at once but couldn't gin up another ski/wakeboard rope. So 5 will be goal next year. Three of them (all boys. all girls, and mixed) at a time wakeboarded that way half the week once they figured it out. They got so good at this that only once in 2 days did one fall on startup and only because the others answered ready when that person was not ready. It was great fun.

Been very very hot here, but a bit of cool down this evening with some T-Storms in the area.

Hope all is well with the gang.

Regards, Roy

Sunny and 90's today.

Stopped in at the LHS Saturday and found a surprise waiting for me.  My jet powered RDC had come in - earlier than expected!  That thing is just stupid cool. Pullmor powered, makes plenty of ozone, geared for high speed, jet spool up sound when the power comes on.  Must have sweat off about a pound up in the attic playing with testing it.  Looks like something E.J. Potter would have built if he had dabbled with trains.

Hudson685 - I agree.  You can't really make a judjment on somebody having never met them.  Rumors are just rumors.  The next few weeks will be interesting.

GregM - congrats on the new adventure.  Hope it works out for you.  My sister and her husband live in Uniontown.  I'll make it a point to visit when we are in the area.

My wife's pre-operation appointments are tomorrow.  Hopefully all goes well.
