Mornin' Fellas.

It is not Fife's b-day! LOL! He keeps his aging process private. (I'll have to try and get that info through other means)

Not much going on around here. Trying to get some lose ends clipped before they get out of control, I really need to get a PDA! Took Susie-Q out for a small dinner last night for our anniversary. If she is feeling up to it we have reservations at Ruth's Chris this Saturday. According to her doctor she should be up and about by then, we'll see. Have to call John Deere today to check on the tractor. Hope to get it back soon so I can mow the yard before the next rain, its getting rather tall again.

JACK,

CONGA on your 500th post.  As far as my DOG running with me,she runs with me in the early spring and fall on an old railroad bed that is a rails to trails conversion.  It is about a mile from my house and runs from a gate to another gate a distance of 1.8 miles.  We do this alot at those times of the year.  In summer it is brutal there, lots of horse and deer flies, just biting you up.  Real painful.  So I run my local back roads without my dog.  I do take her on 3 walks a day for a total of about 3 miles.  I wish I could have that backpack on her with OL MIL or maybe get BRUTUS to follow me with DA TARDIS?

Good Morning Gentlemen:

Happy B-day's to Fife and Sir James.  Happy Anniversary to Brent.  I am glad to hear your wife is feeling better.

It is a beautiful day in Chicagoland.  After the bad storms during the weekend of June 7th, we have been fortunate to have outstanding weather in our part of the country.  I am down to 14 days of restricted movement!  I can't wait to get back to my normal regimen.  I have already signed up for a bio-mechanical evaluation with a golf fitness therapist.  While I will not be allowed to play until the fall, I hope to get myself in better shape during the next 90 days.

For all of you CSX fans/stakeholders, High Noon is rapidly approaching.  Here is an article from today's Journal:

Everyone have a good day.

GOOD MORNING ALL

A big THANK YOU to all that posted birthday greetings, Brutus, that giant red post knocked me off my chair. You my friends, should have seen the cake and fire, for safety reasons they took the  cake outside before lighting the candles. When the kids starting roasting marshmallows I realized my wife might be right about me being around too long. But it was fun. I also ran my 2025(set with 2400 cars) which was a birthday presant from my parents in 1949. Its an annual event and after all these years it still lites up and runs without a rechargable battery.

RI-good response to your daughter, sadly I was  not given that option. In fact I didn't even get to vote on the issue. At least the Chief let me vote three times for him.

DonB, nice layout, very neat, mine started that way but I just  kept adding things.

Everyone enjoy this day and stay well.....S.J.

Laz --  good job on the running Thumbs Up [tup] I admire your comittment to staying fit.  My brother who is very close to 70 and still runs with his German Shepherd, he used to do marathons but now just runs for the fun of it.  Our youngest son is in training now for the Twin Cities Marathon in Oct, it's his first.  He ran cross country in high school and hated it but did well, his main focus was being a really fine golfer.  It's funny now, he rarely plays golf but now he is huge into running and cross training on his bike.  For me it's walking and spending cruising time on my motorcycle enjoying the back roads of this beautiful country.

Does running toy trains count as being physically active?  I hope so as that's another great joy, maybe it's good for mental health Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

So many roads, so little time.

Brent, sorry I missed it, but happy anniversary.  Also, happy birthday to those who really do have them pre and post today.

Not busy with cases, but am with paperwork.  I'd rather be doing just about anything.  Do have some mowing to get done this afternoon if the weather permits.

Laz, I used to run and stay fit, but after an injury and then a bunch of made up excuses, I have joined the too big for my britches club.  I do need to get back into it.  Always felt good and full of energy when I did, not anymore.

Hope everyone has a good day.
God Bless.

Dennis

Fife - Knowing how concerned you are as a good parent, this made  all the local TV news today.  And thought you should be aware to ensure the Princess's are not putting themself in danger.

"COLUMBUS, Ohio — New Albany-based Victoria's Secret is being sued by a California woman who claimed she was struck in the eye by a decorative metallic object that flew off a thong she was trying on.  Macrida Patterson, 52, claims her cornea was severely damaged by a defective "low-rise v-string" from Victoria's Secret's "Sexy Little Thing" line, according to The Smoking Gun. The lawsuit was filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court.  Patterson's lawyer, Jason Buccat, told the Web site that a "design flaw" with the garment was to blame. Patterson, who works as a traffic officer for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, said the accident caused her to miss several days of work.  Her lawyer said that Patterson's injury will affect her "the rest of her life."  Prior to the lawsuit's filing, Victoria's Secret officials asked to examine the garment and the decorative piece, but that request was rejected by Patterson's counsel."

RockIsland52, re basketball score I gave up the Lakers for dead before the game started.  I watched the first half but tuned to another channel after that.  Too painfull to watch.  It just proves you can't play with one star against a team with at least three.  The Lakers will never learn.  If you want to play, you have to pay (for better players) Ray

SP......i have spent much of my life in Chicago.

So despite the many professional sports teams we had (Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Black Hawks, the Sting, the Bulls) there was an absence of championships that would make a cynic out of anyone.  Except for the Bear's single Super bowl victory over the NE Patriots 22 years ago and the MLS soccer team, the Sting, who won indoors only.

Michael Jordan had no true magic until Phil Jackson convinced him that teams win titles, individuals don't.  For most, it is difficult to recall the supporting casts of the 6 Bulls championships other than Scotty Pippen.  You may love or hate Phil Jackson, but he has a penchant for doing more with less overall.  And while Jordan's points per game average dropped, his championship rings began to come.  The supporting cast could not win without Jordan, and he couldn't win without them.

When I moved up to NE Massachussets, I brought this losing drought with me.  I saw what winning can do to the human psyche when it disappears.  Celtics fans, for example, would go absolutely nuts at every lost game, let alone an entire lost season.

Since 2000, Boston fans have been treated to 3 NFL titles, 2 MLB championships, and now 1 NBA trophy in about 8 years.  True Bostonites are a spoiled bunch, as if the Bruins and Celtics glory from decades past would go on forever, uninterrupted.

Twelve months ago the fan concensus was to run head basketball coach Doc Rivers out of town.  Today he is a genius.  I sure am glad he straightened out his act so quickly.Whistling [:-^]

Fife and SirJames......Now that b-day the dust has settled.  I saw that Just For Men "Touch of Grey" commercial on TV last night and wonder how it's working for you guys.  I'd ask Brent, but I think Susan has him doing the whole enchilada and he's a blonde this week.  And with all the fertilizer flying around Chiefdom, his hair has turned green, good for the punk vote.  BTW, Susan doesn't use bullwhips on Brent.  She found some discarded BMW spark plug wires he forgot to throw out, uses them every time he gets behind on the car repairs he has conveniently forgotten to mention in a few days.  I think he likes it.

Evening all,

Nice day again, with just a few short rain showers.  Spent the day at the museum.  Some interesting pictures to catalog.  Some real old ones, late 1800s & early 1900s.

Brent, You have good taste in restaurants.  Ruth Chris is my favorite.  Don't get there very often as there are none local.

On the Bus trip to Jim Thorpe on Saturday, I won two of the prizes on the way home.  Each was for two tickets to Brigadoon at the Fulton Opera House in Lancaster.  Taking friends along Friday evening.  It has gotten good reviews.

Happy Anniversary Mitch!  0

Nothing going on here, worn out from work and just veg-ing and watching the tube.  DougDaGrump, I really don't want to know!  A buddy went to see The Hulk and said it was great comic book fun.  He's a big comic book reader, esp Marvel stuff, and just went on and on about the all stuff they put in there for the true-fans.  I might take the kids this weekend!

Mel, don't worry.  Everything will be OK.  This bunch of no goods can pray up a storm.  No joke.  We have gotten several through some tough time.  Even got RT a job and new house.  Will be praying for her.  Tell her to read Isaiah 43: 2 and 3.  It came up in a Upper Room devotional just before I had my by-passes.  I knew that was a message to me.  I went in knowing everything was going to be OK.  One of Dennis's buddies will be taking care of her.

HOWDY ALL.  Yanks, what is the plural for You'al?

Weedeated the pond bank and and sprayed the path.  Found the back cable had been unbolted and 4-wheeler hand been in.  Threw the two locks away [Raleigh's and mine].  Will put up a crimped cable and lock.  Word is out in both neighborhoods where he will ride by to call me or PD if they see him.  Then went to 4 PM Regional Transportation meeting.

Got home and wife had cooked before going to choir practice.  Country style steak, gravy, rice and squash. Dinner [dinner]  Ate the whole thing.

Rest and TV time.  OH, all you'al. Laugh [(-D]

Chewy had a haircut and spa treatment today, so she is ultra-chic!  Sporting a pretty pink bandana too.  We'll be over in a little bit, have to swap some clothes first.  TARDIS is warming up and I have stocked up all that Old Mill that Laz ordered!  Plenty of rootbeer left over and I kept a piece of that Apple Pie safe in your fridge, behind that old ham.  When are you going to throw that out, anyway?  After you nearly killed Kurt and Doug too Laugh [(-D]

Hey, prayers for Mel and Brent's wives for sure.  Hang in there guys.  My friend Greg Neiman is having surgery tomorrow as well, so he's on my list too.

Morning to All,

Up especially early today. Someone in our bedroom (no names mentioned) was snoring rather loudly this AM so I could not get back to sleep. Last the night we went to see West Side Story in a classic film series at the Gettysburg Majestic Performing Arts Theatre.  They show classic films every Wednesday night all summer on the big screen in the restored Majestic Theatre, beautiful place. Cheap too at $5.50 a person.  So far this season we have seen the original King Kong and To Kill A Mockingbird.

As promised I have uploaded the video clip.  Kind of long at 6 minutes, so it is really too big if you are on dial up.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny, 53 degrees. Going up to 76, today, with a slight chance of rain, later.

Today is busy. I mowed the back yard last night. Now, I have the front and hill to do. Much trimming is needed. Weeds are growing. Maybe, I'll get some train time, later.

Big OTTS tour is scheduled for Saturday.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s again.  We are having spring in the summer time now.  Go figure.  I believe the proper plural English version of Y'all is the Hoosier phrase, "You guys", which works for both genders.  Rough day yesterday.  Missed out on an item for my collection...again.  Getting to be a little frustrating.  Soccer game was long evening.  All four of us started the game (me and the 3 kids) because there was only 11 of us.  One sub did show up (TG!) and it was close in the first half, but we got blown out in the second and lost 5-1.  Work was long day as well.  Lucas found out his girlfriend's family changed their mind again and are moving to Texas.  Talk about a roller coaster ride there.  I evidently practiced too much because my legs were dying last night, and we have a make-up game tonight, and two of the kids can't make it due to work.

Thoughts and prayers going out to the ones having surgery today.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning as the "saucy wench" is taking care of one of the grandsons today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
