Happy Father's Day to all the dads!!

Brent, the thing about using Easy Pass or E/plate(used mainly on rental cars) here in Florida is that you must go through a dedicated Sunpass Only lane, if cash accepted at the Sunpass lane Easy Pass or E/Plate don't work at that lane. The turnpike tolls down here in Florida are some what complicated compared to the rest of the U.S. There are two exits that I know of that Easy Pass won't work at and they are; Okeechobee Blvd.(exit 99) in West Palm Beach and Yeehaw Junction just north of Fort Pierce FL.

Been working around the house some today, hung the trim work on the door upstairs and worked on the track lighting in the kitchen area. Have a problem with the track lighting after taking down the lights and re-hanging them, four won't work for me now, changed positions on the track lighting and that didn't help, checked to be sure I didn't knock out the power at the track lighting connector, have power but lights won't come on. Checked things with the multimeter I have, power and wires in the light fixtures are good to go, seems like they don't want to make proper contact in the channel system. Track lighting is almost 20 years old, maybe I need to replace the system with something newer like flourenscent lighting.

My wife seen a small kitty outside on the backporch this morning and wants to feed the little guy, we might have six cats a few days.

HI GIZ,

Nice day here today at 85 less humid and just a great day to be here.  Thee HIGHLITE of the weekend was to go down JELECTRICs on FFriday nite and meet the one and only BUCKEYE RIVETER, along with MRS. BUCKEYE.  Was quite the event.  JOHN and his wife met me at 7PM and we solved all the worlds problems in JOHNs beautiful backyard.  Then the doorbell rang and it was the one and only BUCKEYE and MRS BUCKEYE.  We promptly went down stairs in JOHNs train room and ran trains for about two hrs. while dicussing a certain SOUTHERNER.  Great time and JOHNs layout is superb.  Said our good bys and left for home arrived here back in Millersburg at about 1110.  It was a pleasure meeting you BUCKEYE and hope YUZ GIZ can make it for the YORK MEET sometime?

DON BAKER the swing on my BB is from center rail out at 3.75 inches.  That is of course on 0-72 fasttrack.

Went to gun show yesterday, saw a SOCOM but was way overpriced.  Still on the lookout.

 B GOOD or B GONE,

HAPPY FATHERs DAY!!!!

As Laz noted, A special meeting of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the OTTS was held Friday evening.  We were graced with the presence of OTTS member #1, in the person of the Honorable  Buckeye.  Instructions were offered in proper prototypical operation by Hizoner Buckeye.

At the conclusion of the session the Pennsylvania members were presented with "Buckeyes" in recognition of our assistance in repelling Southern aggression.

Happy Fathers Day!

CSX - prayers for your Mom.

SOunds like a great time, Laz, glad you guys solved the problems of the world!

Went to see the early show of Indiana Jones, but it was sold out.  So, we went to lunch and blew some $$$ in the arcade first.  Saw the 1:30 show and it was packed, people were coming in, looking around, and leaving.  I guess they didn't want to split up?  Movie was pretty good and I thought they did a good job of updating it to the 1950's.  We stopped for icecream on the way home and now we're just hanging out.

EDIT: Posted at the same time - great pics, guys!  Looks like a great visit!

Sir James, thanks for the update, I'll be looking for the check.

OTTS Guys, it looks like y'all had a good time.  Hope to have such a gathering down these parts before long.  I know it is a bit of a ride, but we have 4 spare bedrooms.  Also have plenty of deer and vermin to toss some lead at.

Chief, looking forward to photos of the find you have.  I have a box of old NYC paperwork from the house of a engineer (mechanical) who designed bridges, etc.  It was a house we did a drill on when I was with the FD.  Have to dig it out and inventory all of it.  Also got a book from a PRR engineer (type that drive the engine) on operating instructions for the GG1 (1:1 scale).  Always neat to check out things of such historical value.

Well, it was a long day with church.  Message was great, but I was on main camera duty and had to stand in one position without a break the whole time for both services.  Back and legs hurt.  Time to hit the sheets.  Hope all have a blessed week ahead.

Dennis

Happy Fathers Day, guys!

The day started nice & bright, had plans to get to the Suns game in the afternoon, rain, thunder & lightning put a crimp in that idea.  Wound up hanging mirrors, pictures & such for the princess.  Had a great dinner at Maggiano's, Chicken Parm, Italian bread, spaghetti, mozzarella slabs and onion straws.  Very full.

Saturday's stint at the Train Store was pretty cool.  Cleared the legs on a customer's layout, made a landing strip for another customer and ran trains.  Helped sell some train goodies....people are getting a head start on the Christmas layouts.

Dennis, up in the air about Jersey right now....if I can make it....I will!!

CSX-hope Mom is feeling better, I was in the hospital for severe stomach cramps, they though I had diverticulitis, came out negative, they still are unknown as the causes..

Jon - prayers to you your family and neighbors - dry out soon!!

Evening all.  Everything fed.  Tired but don't know why?  Hardest thing I've done all day was run trains.  Oh!, another find [from FIL].  I have a 1939 atlas of railroads.  A state on each page.  A listing of the RR's with in that state.  Lots of RR's back then.  Popcorn time.  Good night all.  Clocks to wind.  [wind them every Sunday night]

Its been a longtime since I posted but I just got too busy.  The weather is breaking for a few days (maybe) so I am going fishing for a few days although the water level may vary depending on the lakes I decide to try.  Basement is nice and dry and I ran a train last week.  Check you all later.  Smile [:)]

Good morning everyone.

I can't believe that Chuck didn't have a comment about "Buckeye's picture".

It's off to breakfast, then fitness center and finally yard work if it doesn't rain first (I can always hope!)

Have a good week.

Good morning all.

It is a cloudy cooler day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s.  Took it kind of easy yesterday but still was busy.  We had my dad over for lunch after church.  We got take-out from a little dining place in town.  I trimmed trees along the property line and did some weed-eating.  I edged the sidewalk later on.  My wife and I watched a DVD, "Dan in Real Life".  It had Steve Carrell in it.  I do not like him, but it was one of his better efforts.  The movie itself was a waste of time.  I did get one pleasant surprise yesterday.  I got two American Heritage magazines in the mail (they had been sent to my dad's place), one was the regular issue and the other was the Invention and Technology version.  Both had railroading articles.  The I&T issue had one based on talking about really sophisticated railroad modeling, with a three rail layout being in one or two of the pictures.

I bacon and biscuits on the dining car both yesterday and today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning All

Chief, Talk to local Edison and try to get electricity in Rosyville,Then you can get an electric clock and no more winding. You could even run your trains without riding the bicycle generator.

Hi Dennis, I think IRS sends a letter first then the check.

Well I was enjoying an evening e-mail chat with Brutus last nite around 10 and out  of the Blue this big ole thunder storm comes rolling in. This is our rainy time of year,July and August everything dries up, but I do not recall having thunderstorms every freakin day like this. No plans for today, wife is kid watching, so I don't know if I want a burnt egg breakfast or settle for cereal. Enjoy your Monday.....S.J.

Thanks Rich, I enjoyed that.  Been to a number of those places.

Kinda slow day today.  Son is at Vacation Bible School, wife is out spending money as she doesn't like to be around the house when maid is doing her thing.  I have  a few erands to get done this morning and a in-service to the anesthesia department later.  After that, I can get out of here and enjoy some family time.

Sunday photo fun was great as always.  Hope to contribute..one of these days.

Have a great day!

God Bless,

fifedog:  I have been doing pretty well.  Went to Branson, MO over Memorial Day weekend and caught a few fish.  Table Rock Lake is about 12 feet over normal.  I built a few buildings over the winter/spring and am about tapped out on scenery.  Its not very polished but it is pretty good.  I think I have hit bottom on buying trains for a long while.  I just can't find something I really need since I got my MTH Premier PRR Decapod retrofitted with TMCC this last spring.  Fortunately for my wallet I have restricted my self to PRR steam and have plenty of inventory (5 locos, 50 or so freight cars and 9 passenger cars to run.  Hope all is well with you.  I may try to wet a line later today.  Smile [:)]

Good mornin ya'll from cloudy, wet, and dismal Taxachussetts.  Was 60 at 6am and won't exceed 71 today, though we are promised a brief shot at sunshine this pm before some more serious weather sets in.

Got spoiled on Fathers' Day.  Got "#1 Grandpa cap and t-shirt"  Then taken out with the family and granddaughter to Uncle Pete's in Revere MA. for some of the best BBQ yet since moving up this way 20 years ago.  I went conservative:  BBQ chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, baked beans and mashed, with a side of hot corn bread.  Daughter found the place on a show called "The Phantom Gormet."  Weatherman Al Roker visited and raved, and he's no lightweight when it comes to food, though his consumption has been scaled back.  Then back to Daughter and SIL's place for some fresh pastries and real coffee and Espressos.  I was still beached 4 hours later and had trouble timing the commercials and the Celtics/Lakers game on TV.  Though the ladies room was close by, my stomach was rebelling at the onslaught.  And the baked beans.....well, you know.

My real Fathers' Day gift arrived in the mist and the rain this morning.  The landscapers showed up and did their magic.  Now I am responsible for keeping up with the additional progress they made.

Next weekend it will be time to set up the kiddie pool for granddaughter: a round inflatable job 30 inches deep, 15 feet across, complete with filter and solar cover.  Water temps hit 80 degrees if it is left covered.  But overall it is lightly used if the weekends' weather over the course of the Summer does not cooperate.  The chemicals and disposable filters can get pricey over the season too, to keep the water pristine for such light usage.  The oppressive part of our summers is short up this way.  But on the putrid days, even the elderly let there hair down after a few frosties and climb in with the kiddies.

It's quite entertaining to watch some of the petrified parents begin by sitting 3 feet away from their precious little one(s) in the water.  The entertainment value is in seeing them getting drenched by the taunting little ones and constatly admonishing the little devils, without result. Worth all of the expense and maintenace work.  Though I did break down last year and put a table with chairs and umbrella next to the pool so they would be comfortable as they were getting tortured.  It takes a couple of visits until they realize that, with a constant watchful eye from a safer distance, the little ones are not going to drown nor can the fretting parent get drenched from the safety of the deck.....until I bought some SuperSoakers for the kiddies to put the parents back withing firing range, even when on the deck......can't wait to see how long it takes the parents to comandeer those.

CSXect, hope the Docs got a handle on your Mom's malady and she is on the mend.  While both diverticulitis and diverticulosis are extremely painful (stomach cramps is the best way I can describe it), the irritation can be cleared up quickly and reoccurance reduced through simple dietary adjustment.  There is a ton of useful info on the net on these two disorders.  My MIL has not had a reoccurance since she was hospitalized for same at the age of 83.  her issue was found to be fruits and vegetables with seeds, and nuts.

The pictures of that special meeting at Jet's all appear to have one aspect in common: recycleable aluminum cans.  You all might get a kick out of the consistency in the photos if you look more carefully.  There are definitely some righties and some Southpaws in the gang.  Is there an statistical advantage of one over the other like there is in baseball?

Got to run.  Thanks to those thoughtful and generous folks who posted on SPF.

OK Guys, you may have seen this before, but sometimes we need a laugh.

DennisWink [;)]

A redneck was stopped by a game warden in Central Missouri recently with two ice chests full of fish.

He was leavin' a cove well-known for its fishing.

The game warden asked the man, 'Do you have a license to catch those fish?'

'Naw, sir', replied the redneck. 'I ain't got none of them there licenses.  These here are my pet fish.'

'Pet fish?'

'Yeah. Every night, I take these here fish down to the lake and let 'em swim 'round for awhile. Then, when I whistle, they jump right back into these here ice chests and I take 'em home.'

'That's a bunch of hooey! Fish can't do that.'

The redneck looked at the warden for a moment and then said, 'It's the truth Mr. Government Man.  I'll show ya. It really works.'

'O. K.', said the warden. 'I've got to see this!'

The redneck poured the fish into the lake and stood and waited.

After several minutes, the warden says, 'Well?'

'Well, what?', says the redneck.

The warden says, 'When are you going to call them back?'

'Call who back?'

'The FISH', replied the warden!

'What fish?', replied the redneck.

Moral of the story: We may not be as smart as some city slickers, but we ain't as dumb as some government employees.

You can say what you want about the South, but you never hear of anyone retiring and moving north.
