Good Morning everyone.  Sorry I have been away and too many pages have passed to read everything.  I did read a few pages and notice some of our better halves have dealt with some health issues.  Mel, glad they were able to close that ASD.  While it is perhaps the easiest heart operation, it is still big surgery.  Good to hear all the ladies are doing well.

Chief, Kim had told me you had called.  Glad she caught you up on things.  Has been a bit crazy here.  Had a manufacturer rep come by to see me yesterday and brought lunch for the entire OR.  I was not able to go out as we were still operating.  I was able to get a cold sandwich and some tea.  It has been a busy schedule and with the latest events, it makes for some long hours.

My bride is working today, so I am home with the kids.  As mentioned earlier, I have been a bit busy and the grass has gotten out of hand.  I was trying to figure out how I was going to get it done and when I returned from the hospital yesterday, the lawn was done.  Some upstart landscapers had come by and offered a good deal for the property.  May have them do it for awhile till things settle down and I get back to my normal routine.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and week ahead.
God Bless,

Dennis

Good Morning

First things  Don B. Mich. rarely has high humidity,we get rain snow and sun and down around Lake Erie some very thick fog. We get a little fog here from time to time but its chicken feed compared to along the lake. Your BB is in good hands, some very good people work at the service center.

And Dennis, Mich is going to outlaw Dr. perks like you just discribed, too many Drs. are just pushing the reps pills.

Chief  If my little family was not here I would have moved  somewhere south myself. I have got to the point of hating snow, cold is ok snow sucks.

We have a beautiful morning going to low 80s, with the usual t.storm forecast attached. Also going to use one of those steak house gift cards today, but early enough for banilla later..S.J.

Good morning Don, No my friend does not work for Disney but he has been a collector for over 40 years probably. I identify with the Hot weather comments. About 105 in Glendora yesterday. Our pool was about 82 with no heater too. We went walking this morning at the local park where they have a lot of shade trees to walk under. That was about 7:30 AM and it was alreadly too hot to walk on the street so we drove to the park. One of your buddies at AGHR posted something on the other forum about the ATSF 3751 maybe coming to San Pedro again this fall. Some people thought that the Private rail car association was going to run a 26 private car special behind 3751 from L.A. to San Diego but it sounds more likely that they will just go from L.A. to San Pedro down the Alameda Corridor. I don't think the station in San Diego can handle that many cars. Stay cool, Ray

Good afternoon, I've had a busy couple of days and didn't get a chance to post much yesterday. Had a Church committee breakfast in the morning, yard work in the afternoon and then out to dinner and to see Brigadoon at the Fulton Theater in Lancaster, PA. BTW the Fulton is the oldest continually operating theater in the USA, 155 years. While standing in the lobby chatting, a forum member called me with an electrical question on his layout. Think I solved his problem OK.  Don?

Today, no trains yet. Did yard work this morning and then stained more logs for my DH project. Maybe run some trains later.

Glad to see folks are on the mend.

Hope the Buckeye crowd have a good day at the show today.

WAR!!!!!!!!  YANKEE GROUNDHOGS!!!!!!

Came back from pond and drove up to garage.  Saw big groundhog at greenhouse just inside fence.  He ran under tractor/boat shelter.  Sneaked around the shelter and no groundhog.  Walked under shelter and there was a groundhog hole behind the tractor.  The rascal has burrowed underneath my tractor and has a second hole behind some plywood leaning against a big work bench.  Time to die!!!!

Brent and all.....went to Ruth's Chris in NYC about 30 years ago.  Yummy, and that's coming from a Midwesterner born and raised on that corn fed beef.  There are a lot of exceptional steak houses. but I can't recall any that are better than RC's.  Morton's in Chicago comes to mind.  The Beverly Depot in Beverly MA too.  I don't load up on appetizers.  The steak never tastes the same back at the ranch as a leftover, unless you are one of my dogs.

Hi all finally made it back as I now have my putor at home up and running again.  All is going good. Been working at the V.A. here in columbia now for about 4 weeks. Did about 20 hrs of O.T. last 2 weeks so this coming pay check will look good buty the next will be even better as I will do another 20 hrs of O.T. and I work the 4th so that will count as 2 days work so I'll be getting almost 3 weeks pay in a 2 week period. Not to much else happening will drop in later

Afternoon All!

Great news on the job RT!

Worked at local Habitat house today...Soffits, and metal fascia.  Met some great folks...one is a stay at home dad, with 2-children about the same age as ours, so we're planning a few get togethers!

Brutus, LAZ, Sir James...whoever has the keys tonight, I'm in!  Looks like the storms have passed, so it should be a great night.

Howdy All.

This heat is a major pain, although it has cooled a LITTLE bit. It's down to 106*, kinda weird to step outside and hear absolutely nothing except an occaissional a/c unit kicking on or off. No mowers, leaf blowers and very few cars out and about. Hopefully it is going to start cooling off tomorrow or monday. Hope Don doesn't try to stay to long with his outside job today.

Great news about all the family members doing well after various surgeries. Thumbs Up [tup]

Later all, got some "honeydo's" to catch up on.

Woa! WOA! I said WOA!!!

20 Mule Team

What a day!!!  The OTTS Tour of the Western Reserve Model Train Museum in Willoughby, Ohio was an outstanding success and I know I speak for Chuck, when we say a big THANK YOU to Tom and his crew.  They have done a great job and are running some fantastic trains.

This morning I headed out to the barn at 4:00am and hitched up the mules after feeding and watering all of them.  Chuck, riding shotgun joined me at Blueberry Hill as we headed north.  The law was out in force as we headed up the concrete trail.  We spent over two hours at the museum.  We took a ton of photos and videos which will be posted later on Sunday Photo Fun.

If you are in NE Ohio it is worth stopping and seeing the trains.  Their web page is: http://www.wrmrrm.org/default.htm

Hey Kurt, I think Sir James has the keys?  I left it at his house last night after he kept trying to feed me that green-ham sandwich Laugh [(-D]  Ran for my life!

Just goofed off today.  Read some, watched some tv, took family to Kung Fu Panda (pretty good Kung Fu movie), ate out at a local sandwich place, and now watching My Man Godfrey - good old movie!

Sounds like the OTTS outing to the Western Reserve Model Train Museum was a success.

It was a beautiful day here today, spent the last 2 hours or so sitting on the back porch. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.

We had an eventful day, Went to Logans Steak house and I had ribs, I know but my wife had a steak so that counts. Then we went in the mall and then across the street to  some stores. on the way home we stopped at our daughters house. that is the way we do our local outings now. one round trip  if possible. Down pours of rain and hail all around but missed us. We got a little rain.

RT it sounds like you have settled in nicely, I hope everything keeps going well for you.

Brutus, fire up the thingamajig I'm ready.   S.J.

Figured it out.  The groundhogs are Ohizioans burrowing into NC to get away from Chuck and Buckeye.  Really want in bad.  Guess you can't blame them as Ohizo is not a good place to reside. Whistling [:-^]  They are really wanting GRITS and sweet ice tea. Laugh [(-D]

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 80s.  After going to the YMCA for weights this morning, the wife and I took the day off and went to Indy.  I wanted to show places where I go in downtown Indy and nearby sites.  Went to some small town stores on Massachusetts Ave., Borders on Washington and Meridian and antique store near Fountain Square.  First time I had seen a lot of toys in an antique store including trains but they were kind of pricey.  Went to the Speedway Museum for a little bit, and checked out some outdoor play equipment for the grandkids.  Watched Netherlands and Russia play in the European soccer tournament.  IRL quals were rained so Manning starts way back.  F-1 is on Fox early tomorrow so I will have to tape it and watch while I eat breakfast.  Friday night swept the house and watched a show with the wife.

I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car this morning.  It is good to hear all the sickies are on the mend, and that the OTTS gathering was a success.  It is also good to hear the Indiana airdrop of groundhogs has proven successful in NC!  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a foggy 56 degrees.. Going up to 78 today with a chance of rain later. Hope not.

Well, the OTTS tour, yesterday was a great success. The Western Reserve Model Railroad Museum is a great place to see. Met up with Spankybird, there, and he gave Buckeye and I the Grand Tour. They have a lot of trains. Much work is in progress.

Today is an easy day. I plan on taking it easy and relaxing. I will run trains , later, and watch the baseball game. Indians need to win.

Dining car has arrived and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good Morning,,,,,,,,Looks like almost everyone but Brutus slept late or already up and gone. Brite sun this morning, low 80s for the week. I have no sunday plans yet but its early  enough to find something. It use to be on these kind of weekends we would pick some place to go, but we all know what the price of travel has done to everyone. Of course we got a windfall of S.S. money in Jan. of 2% that should cover the increase of gas and food. So why should I complain, right.     Enjoy your Sunday.........S.J.

Noon all.  Early Church and SS.  Then a nap.  Keeping watchful eye out for groundhogs and listening for 4 wheelers at the pond.  Illegals into Rosyville are treated to a big bang.  As for coycotes, someone has imported them already.  They get the same greeting as the groundhogs.  Now if we could get or Feds to do the same for those crossing into the US illegally.  You legal, welcome.  Wife packing for the beach.  Expecting more rain showers this PM.   Later

Howdy Y'all!

Was a nice morning.  Kids still insist on getting up at 6:30, even when we can sleep till 7:30.  Great church service, but bride was not feeling well.  We skipped Sunday School and went to dinner and home.  Raining right now, but that is OK.  Have to return to church as I have to fill in for "Lights".  Also, we are having a Low Country Boil tonight, so plenty of good food to go around.....just keep your fork! (other Baptists will know what I mean).

Hoping it is a bit easier this week.  I have received a bunch of resume's for the position at the hospital.  Time to weed through them.  We are looking for folks with plenty of experience, but you'd be amazed at the number of folks still in internship trying to get an interview.

It may be a little while before I can check back as things are a bit hectic these days.  Till next time, may God continue to bless everyone here.
