Hi GIZ,

Beauty of a day here today at 53 this morning even can see my breath.  Ran a nice easy 3 miles today.  Later GOLF agaist BRO then wings and beer.  Big news in GOLF, TIGERS out for season.  Rest of the season in doom?  He does have that much of an effect on things.

  MEL prayers for your WIFE.

DENNIS and JON thanks for the kind remarks on my running.  And you know its never to late to start.  Don't have to do it everyday, every other day is good.  Start out walking then throw a couple of short runs say two telephone polls then walk again.  You'll feel better.  JON running of trains will get you in shape faster.  LOVE that one LOL!

  MITCH HAPPY ANNIVERSORY!

CHIEF watched the HISTORY CHANNEL and had the Vampire Cat of North Carolina on at eight oclock.  But they didn't say anything about ROSYVILLE.  Thought that was where it originated?

BUCKEYE, later at 9 oclock on same channel they had THE GRASSMAN of Eastern OHIO.  Boy YUZ GIZ must be related?  Who woulda thunk it NC and OHIO MONSTERS?  YUZ GIZ have your own MONSTERS.

Going to dig out and put in a landing for shed today just a small 6X 6 then put down pavers.

  HAPPY FRIDAY EVE!

B GOOD or B GONE,

laz57

Mornin'

OK first off, it's YOUSE GUYZ (that's NORTHERN!!) or if you're in a hurry it's youse.

Prayers for Madge & Susie-Q....it'll all be good soon!!!

Happy Anniversary to Mitch & Brent..sorry I'm late...

Happy Birthday to SIR JAMES (and the secretive Fife), if I missed one, sorry - Old Timers, ya know...

Lost 2nd softball game on Tuesday 11-15, I got a hit after subbing, almost threw a guy out at 2nd base, I double clutched it.  It was right on the money too!!!

Moved the bulk of the stuff out of the apartment, spent most of the night sorting and trashing stuff...so today Mrs Devil and Son#1(and only) will finish up the little bit I left 'em.  Friday we'll be cleaning the rugs..fun fun fun.

Softball tonight, we've had 2 rain outs already, spotty thunderstorms in the area (like the one we had last evening), hopefull we'll play tonight.

Got 2 Williams Southern Pacific F-3's, they don't work, just waiting for Bachmann to allow me to send 'em back (they are used..)so I can find out how much they cost to repair..

Have a good one guys, See ya later!!

EDIT:  Just noticed my post # 666 - appropriate...very appropriate

Mornin' boys.

Chief - Y'all = YUZ GUYS  DA!

Unless you are in Baltimore, Gaithersburg, or York, then it's GRINGOS.

88/RRCharlie - Best regards with the womenfolk.

dbaker - That Victoria's Secret thing actually made the news in the Mid-Atlantic region.  53 year old gal trying on thongs...another sure sign that the Apocolypse is near...

mitchie - Congrats on the School, and the Anniversary.  (wasn't sure of the order I should have placed them)

anjdevil - I stopped all official celebrating after 40.

and RockIsland - I use an old rusty machetti to get my "do" real close.  Won't be needing Touch of Grey, unless I'm worried about hair in other places...

GOOD MORNING ALL

Still chilly 56, inside the house it's 68. I'm hoping for some sun today. Not a lot planned for the day, a short trip to the store for drugs. When I turned this thing on this morning there was a whole heap of jokes, most from a friend that must have not read his e-mail for awhile, some of you received a selected few. I try to figure which can be sent to whom without offending. So I am off to see the drug dealer at Meijer store. Later All,,,,,,,,,,,S.J.

Mornin All.

It was miserable hot yesterday, the digital was reading 102* and they say it will be this way at least thru saturday. I'm ready for fall already, at least you can dress for cool weather and still go outside. Shock [:O]

Up early and finished packing for trip to museum tomorrow, will be shorthanded so taking a bunch of stuff just in case I need to cover any extra tracks.

Fife/Don, That news story just begs the question: was the individual involved, as some folks are prone to do, practicing the old adage of "10# in a 5# bag". Laugh [(-D]Black Eye [B)]  I know it ain't PC but I'll bet a whole bunch of others were wondering.

OK, let's try this.  Good morning Y'all, Youse, Yaas, Youse Guyz, Yuz Guz, You Guys, All Y'all.....(must select one).  Chief asks a trick question to get everyone using Southern lingo and we fell for it. Banged Head [banghead]

Brent and Mel......Susan and Madge are in my thoughts and prayers for full and speedy recoveries.  The route to the quickest recovery for them is to be forced to hang around you two:  "He's driving me nuts.....must get better asap to escape this torture!!!!!"  My wife would have me doing several Dairy Queen runs a day.

Fife......re the V.E.D's (Victoria's Explosive Devices) in your house getting all knotted up in the laundry, you didn't mention if they were your thongs or Fifey-Wifey's. Whistling [:-^]  Pink, must have been your's, but you didn't mention color either.  And I think we have to set some ground rules on the Pot to cover subtle jokes.  I'm getting tired cleaning up beverage spray on my monitor and keyboard, and the burn of a carbonated beverage coming out the nose,  when one of you slides in an excellent but subtly sarcastic observation or comment.  The frequency is increasing.  V.E.D.'s is a good example.

Mitch......how is it you had an anniversary and no one knew about it?  I think Jim (Brutus) was the first to congratulate.  Happy belated Anniversary wishes.  Thanks for the Youtube video of the new school digs.  The grass needs to be cut= the bad news.  You have grass=the good news.

MikeC.....my SIL took me to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro (Patriot's home) for a Revolution game last Fall and the place was packed.  Soccer more popular than people think.  Sorry to hear that Lucas' GF is off to Texas.  Hope this does not disrupt his studies at IU this Fall.  Once upon a time we older guys, before they had phones in the dorm rooms, had to accumulate a million quarters and use a phone booth (remember those?) on the dorm floor.  Cellular has eliminated all that, plus, for example, the Verizon to Verizon on a nationwide plan make the calls essentially free.  I recall a call from Cleveland to Chicago was about $10.50 per hour.  Bankrupted me and severely limited those midnight pizza deliveries.  Yes, you younger guys, pizza and phones had been invented.

Laz.....from the sounds of it (no sounds) your stitches are holding, no infection issues.  From a strictly medical science point of view, must be the healing effects of the Old Milwaukees.  Your advice on resuming running to those sedentary for a few decades was right on.  Slow and easy, preferably walking, at first.  Might I suggest a physical first and investment in some decent shoes?  Get the dog into the act.

Rich.....ever been to Atlantic City?  That always seemed like a better/quicker alternative than flying all the way to Las Vegas for the Metro New York folks.  We've got at least 3 casinos within 2 hours drive time from my place, though I don't gamble and have never gone.  Lots of stuff I'd rather invest in, like trains.

Have a great day, ya'll.

All of y'all sounds about right or just plain old y'all.  I was born and raised in the South but have been away so long I have to learn the langauge again when I go back.  Temp predicted for over 103 today here in the San Gabriel Valley.  Going out to visit a friends large train layout tonight . I don't know the dimensions but the trains go out of sight when you're watching.  He is a huge Lionel Collector.  Has the largest PW collection probably in Southern California and maybe one of the largest in the Country.  Should be fun.  Ray

Good Evening

RI52-I forgot to mention I already have a "touch of gray". But I still have a whole heap of it.

I had an enjoyable day after my short trip this morning, I sat down to watch the noon news which I did not get to see. The wife of #2 son and grandsons came to the door with a box of 30 White Castles,oh joy it was hog heaven. DIL does not like them but the boys do, my son and I started them out  when they got there first tooth. we wanted to make sure they could chew the pickle. Needless to say I skipped supper as I can still taste the onions about every five minutes,, thats a sign we got a good batch. Alka seltzer is keeping it all under control. Maybe some banilla later when the guys drop by. So we then played with the trains said goodbye and took a short nap, well after all I am old now......TTFN...S.J.

DougM.....ever get that a/c fixed in your car?  Hope you didn't have to fund repairs by peddling yourself on the street because the a/c would still be broken. Big Smile [:D]

Sir James.....before I was married, I showed up at my future FIL's door with a box of frozen White Castles.  He was one of those Dads who had death stares, and no one was good enough for his precious princess.  That night the two guys sat in front of the TV watching NASCAR and gorging ourselves.  Initially, wife-to-be and MIL-to-be couldn't figure out why Death Dad was being so cordial towards me.  Dinner [dinner]

J&J John....even with the Doctor's green light, go easy.

Doug!  I tried to pick you up, but your wife waved us off and yelled something about family fun time?!  Laugh [(-D]

Jack - I heard that!  Take it easy is my motto.  Walking is good when you have screwed up tendons before, don't want to overdo it.  Most of my walking is either at work or pushing a lawn mower, though.

Sir James, did you save us any of those sliders?  The onion burps are nature's way of spreading the word about sliders [;-)]

Laz, the TARDIS can land anywhere, don't need a special landing pad?  Thanks though!  Watch those stitches!

Waiting to hear about my friend, teacher and co-worker, Greg N.   He had robot assisted surgery today.  All should be well.

Kurt - Sorry about that sudden turn in the TARDIS, I was trying to avoid a Metalusian Battle Cruiser.  They nearly got us with their interociter beam, but Laz threw out some chaff (crushed empties) and threw off their targeting!

Nice video Mitch, liked that song a lot!  That looks like a very nice school

Chuck, I made the mistake of fertilizing my yard last week - now I need to mow it....

Neat car, Tom!

Rich - 666!!!  Booga booga!  There is a traditional dance you must now do before you can post again, just FYI.  I think Fifedog holds the record on that one?

DougdaGrump Laugh [(-D]  I think you might be right!

Ray - take some pics to share?

Sir James - I was worried about going gray, but the gray is going as fast as it came.  I don't know where it goes, but it's not on my head anymore?  Just bare skin Laugh [(-D]

Well Brutus, I got what they call salt and pepper, but at least I got. Yep we got some left but me and those two little guys did a fine job on those nice warm sliders.

RI52- best way to heat frozen sliders, let them thaw then about a  25 second zap in the micro wave. That way the bun stays soft.

Good night all.  Rock has figured me out.  Worked hard most of the day at the pond.  Came home and then off to Town Hall to sign checks so some folks could get paid tomorrow.  Home again and hit the shower.  Then watered garden a little to give it a boost.  Watched TV from 9 to 10 [History Channel] about locomotives.  Then watched a movie on TCM [China Doll].  Now to bed.  Dr's apt tomorrow at 10:15.  Since I need to do a blood test every 6 months, means no breakfast until after I get out of that.  Off to bed now.  God bless and prayers for all.  Any word from the heart operation???

Morning to All,

Had a good night's sleep, did not hear the buzz saw coming from the other side of the bed. Made a fresh pot.

Thanks for all of the kind words about the school.  It has been a great thrill watching things come together (and a pain in the butt sometimes).  I think they finally got the alarm system issue resolved.  Alarm was sending all sorts of weird codes to monitoring company. It appears that the installer had programmed one of the codes wrong, so the people on the notify list have been getting all sorts of calls about trouble and runaway conditions.  Technician was either too stubborn, or too stupid, to call and talk to the alarm company so we dealt with several weeks of calls at 1:00 AM and threatening messages about fines due to a runaway condition. The alarm system was calling the alarm company every 3 to 20 seconds jamming up their phone lines.

Heading to the Philly area tomorrow for a wedding reception.  We are at an age where our friends kids are getting married. Four weddings on our calendar in the next few months

Take care,

Mitch

Mitch --

Thanks for the video clip, nice job with the photo's & music -- YEA iPhoto & iMovie, simply the best.

The school really has a welcoming feeling and openness that I like a lot. The warm colors and lots of light are the just the best, the design team did an excellent job. I spent my last 18 years in a wonderful new classroom that had no windows, I really liked that room but I really missed windows A LOT.

It's going to be great to see the kids again and watch their excitement with the new facility.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 80s.  Even though we lost 3-2 last night, the game was a more positive experience.  I played the entire 50 minutes and was still standing.  I played better and was able to stay up with people more.  Grandson was holy terror the entire game, screaming for his mommy almost the entire team.  My wife was finally able to settle him down some, but wow what a noise!  Work went well yesterday.  Hopefully it will be a quiet day today.  I have an open wheel double dip this weekend with F-1 on Fox and the IRL on ABC.  Tomorrow will be a shopping day for various items.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning all.  Getting ready to go to Dr.  Mike, don't think I could play 5 minutes much especially 50.  Wow.  Mel, still praying for Madge but she will make it OK.  Thanks for the report.  Give us another one as soon as you can.  We will be waiting but know she is going to be OK.  Little warmer today but still low humidity.  High humidity tomorrow and Sunday but chance of showers [we need rain now].  Have a great Friday.  God bless.

Good morning from beautiful Southern Ohio,

Sunny and 62°F.  I am off till July 5th on vacation.  I am really looking forward to some time off.  We are not leaving until next week so I am going to try and get a few things done around here before we leave.  First stop is around LA for a convention, bride wants to go to Channel Islands with some free time.  Then who knows.  Any recommendations on things to see?  From there we are going to Hawaii for a few days.

Mel - prayers for your wife

Buckeye and Chuck - I am disappointed I could not join you for the OTTS tour as there is an important meeting I cannot get out of.  Maybe next year, or like you said a carpool to York????

Fife - I can see it now a label on thongs, "Improper use may result in injury to user and surrounding persons"

Mike & Laz - You are an inspiration to the ones getting letters from the AARP

Got to go help with a funeral.  I will check back in later

May God bless

Mornin' Fellas.

Tired. Was up most of the night due to Susie-Q 'hearing' things... she's on Oxycodone for pain. Got a call a few minutes ago that 'someone was in the house working on a ladder', asked her if she had started the laundry... 'Yes'... go check stand at the bedroom door and see if the sound you hear is coming from the laundry room... 'OK. Yes it is the dryer.' Whistling [:-^] Going to be a fun day at the office! I will call every so often just to make sure she is OK, maybe I should ask her father to go check on her?

The procedure went well. She came through OK. A few minor complications, all non-life threatening.

Mel - prayers for Madge.

Mitch - nice work on the video... maybe you have a second calling? Happy Anniversary! Also what rolling stock were you eyeing up at my place?

Picked up a book on Wine. It has everything from how to grow grapes, to making wine, to tasting, to storing, and has info on all the different areas that are known for wines. I'm thinking of planting some vines after I cut down some trees this fall. Seems grape vines make for nice hedges so I could use them to line the yard... Big Smile [:D]

Mornin' boys.  Sunny, pleasant, and 68 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  One more night of work, then I'm off 'til the 1st.  Lots to do this weekend before we shove off for VERMONT.  And I haven't even plotted the "flight plan" that runs us next to rail as much as possible.
