Brutus

Just read that the guy who stars in the new Twilight movie wants to be the next Dr. Who since David Tennant is going to move on from the role.  David was in one of the Harry Potter movies and so was this guy.  Could be interesting I guess, but I think this new guy is too young personally.

Stars still out.  Buckeye, Jon and crew might not make it over the mountains.  Mountains usually stops them.

Good night all.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

PS:  Fife, have not gotten the email from you????  I do have it second hand.  Strange.

Good Friday Morning......Yes, it is that time again, when the biggest riverly in sports takes place tomorrow.  It is not the Yankees and the Red Sox and it is not North Carolina and Duke.   According to the Sports Authority ESPN,  the Ohio State - Michigan is NO. 1.  http://espn.go.com/endofcentury/s/other/bestrivalries.html

So here we go, when all the people in Ohio stand up and say:

BEAT MICHIGAN!!

and then we

say

O-H !!

Buckeye--not to worry, I believe the Vienna Boy's Choir could beat Michigan this year.  The best news of the weekend will be if the Hawkeye's can beat the Gophers in the final college game to be held in the Glad Bag dome in MPLS.  Next year the Goofers will be outside in their brand new setting, the way football should be played!  Even better news: the Twins will be in their brand setting in 2010, outside--the way baseball should be played.

I'll be cheering for the Ohio State TUBA player, HE is the most important person tomorrow  Smile

Whew! 15 degrees this morning and feels like 3. Good thing I'm not going into Chicago today.  Brad, I'm impressed with your fortitude - waiting in any line outside in Minnesota in a month that isn't July is impressive. Brutus, my daughter went to see that Twilight movie at midnight last eve. featuring that kid - he's not replacing the Doctor. A girl at a publicity event was quoted saying he'd  made a great Dr. Who... Laz, thought of you when I spooked some deer - including a good-sized buck - across a rural road out here last night. Off to Ohio tonight if we can get through the snowbelt around Lakes Michigan and Erie.

Good morning all,

It is cold in SE Indiana.  We got the new furniture delivered yesterday ( a couch and two chairs ).  Wife is happy.  Wallet is empty, but she talked about getting some trains so this may make it all work out.  Read the new CTT last night.  Some very good articles.  I will have to write some more someday.  Work was busy but productive yesterday.  Had a voice mail from last night that I got this morning saying a column was missing from report I sent.  I checked everything.  Sent e-mail saying their "instructions" were vague (actually wanted to say a lot more, but was diplomatic).  Really disappointed as the person commenting was one of the few people I thought had their act together.  Depending on what they say, I could probably add some info fairly quickly but it is frustrating to constantly work on the same "stuff" over and over and over and over (well.....you get the point).  Thanks for listening.  I had the normal fare on the dining car.  I hope everyone (including certain people in a certain governmental organization at a certain level of the governmental hierarchy(and this is by no means a reference to certain mayor who frequents this forum although I hope he does as well)) has a good day.

May go see the movie "Bolt" and a high school play this weekend.  Also have a family get together on wife's side of family on Sunday, weather permitting.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Brutus, beacon is lit.  Pork Tenderloins from Storie's are loaded up and ready to go.  Nobody can eat more than one!  I will even drive.

Thank you Mike C.  Will be a great day except Buckeye slipped in again.

By gosh, by golly.  Mistletoe and holly.  The grass that is not under trees is white, roof tops white, pine and cedar trees are white.  Snohio fell.  Foggy now.

Now to cook some real breakfast [no oatmeal nor cream of wheat in this house].

God bless all.

Good morning from central North Carolina.  Woke up to snow flurries this morning.  Not too much, but a dusting here and there.  I hope sometime this winter we get a snow as deep as where the good Lord split us!  :)

Good morning from the soon-to-be frozen state of Minnesota!  It's a whopping 15 degrees here at 9:45am this morning.  Grab your swim suit - it's HOT TUB season in the land of 10,000 lakes!

The little miss and I will be working on a simple layout this weekend that we will bring to her classroom this coming Monday.  We're going to keep it really simple by covering a 3' x 3' piece of 1/2" plywood with a white felt/cotton material and then tacking down a circle of O-27 track.

I'll be reading the forum-recommended book - "The Mighty Santa Fe".  When we get to the part where the dusty attic sheet is whisked off of the layout - my daughter and I will lift the sheet off of our small layout revealing a Santa Fe engine and passenger cars.

I'm hoping to recruit the classroom teach to snap a bunch of photos with my digital camera.  I'll post them after the event!

Have a Great Day everyone!  It's FRIDAY by the way - Wahoo!

One thing about trains: It doesn't matter where they’re going. What matters is deciding to get on.

Brrrr...  Gettin cold here too.. only going to 82 today, then really snap down by Monday, 72.  Guess I will have to winterize the house this weekend.

Plan on going to the Cal-Stewart meet this tomorrow.  A bit expensive, but there isn't much to pick from here.  Need to check on a few things have my shopping list mostly for parts.  Thinking about getting a Greenburgs, we have this antique show here once a month very well attended.  And other vendors tell me trains always do well.  So was thinking if I had a "reference" for people to look at they be a little more prone to pay the price.  I want to sell some of the MPC stuff I have, and upgrade it all.  Also going to be looking for some peoples and information for Doug dagrump.

Got the information from FIFE, going to start getting my car ready for its vagabond.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Jim, please don't embellish the last big blizzard.   It was only 22 inches of snow, not 2 feet!  Exaggeration such as this gives all of us Buckeye’s a Black Eye.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 63 in what might be not only the prettiest day of fall, but of the year.

Brutus ---->Happy B-Day

All righty then.  Looks like I'm getting some good feedback on the Coffee Pot Interchange program.  I've given this a lot of thought, so here's the standards:

A)  You have to be a poster in good standing.  Since this is the first time we are trying this, I want folks to feel comfortable with where their equipment is headed.  For some of you folks who would like to read and not post, perhaps now is a good time to walk in the door and chat a spell.

B) You gotta have a layout.  Preferably something that will be up at least for the duration of this interchange.  If all you have is a Christmas platform, that's fine too, just understand you are being asked to have it up at least once a month for posting on SPF.  Annnnnd, it should have some scenery.  Even if it's just a two foot area, the idea is to have the interchange cars "passing through" some type of setting.  If you don't currently have a pike, but get one up and running before we are through, we can always "reroute" some of the cars your way.

C) Each participant will contribute one piece of rolling stock.  We will be tracking the progress of each car as it heads cross-country.  The car should be something equated with yourself. (Example I used: my "signature" car on my layout is LIONEL's 9600 series Hi-Cube boxcar.  And since I model predominantly Chessie, I will be sending out my #9600 Chessie boxcar.)  No cabooses.  Oh, and once the rolling stock is in interchange, it's out-and-about to until the journey is through.

D) On the first day of the month, participants will "route" the "intercahnge" car to the next closest participant.  Once I have a list of members who want to do this, I will map all the destinations, and we will decide how we want to "forward" the car (USPS, UPS, FedEx).

E) Participants will be asked to post one picture incorporating the interchange car on Sunday Photo Fun during that month.  It can be within a train, part of a scene, just somewhere on the layout.  Don't wanna see any pics with my boxcar laying on your pillow dressed in a nighty...eh-eh.

If you want to play along, send me a PM (include your address and email please) and I'll coordinate this event.

If things go smoothly, we might open it for ROUND II.Wink

I went back and found it, (two pages at a time)

It's up to 22 degrees now, but gas is down around $1.50 - at least until the other countries start ramping up again and supplies go back down.

NO CTT for me today, but did get an "OUTSTANDING" year-end review at work, which was totally cool and may result in some more train $$$ Big Smile
