Good Evening

Oh boy I get to drive, bottoms up. I can fix RT just won't stop and pick him up. Oh but he's got the treats. Darn thought I could fool them. Could have if he didn't bribe with those treats. It's 34 warmer than its been all day. Well no trains but a lot of looking at them today. Have a good tomorrow...S.J.

Uh oh, S.J. is driving - gotta get out the storm racks for the table so our beer steins don't slosh over.  Brutus, congrats on the switches!  Met the bride after work to celebrate the 23rd birthday of one of our student ministry worship leaders. I was the oldest one there by 20 years at least. LOL. I enjoy the 20-something's energy.  I thought I had it good filling the van with ethanol at $1.81.

I think I told you all I got AT&T's "U-verse" over the summer - a form of TV over IP. It is great. 200 channels. Can record four shows at once. Watch anything recorded on any of the TVs. Cheaper than cable and dish here.

Beacon is on!

I'm in trouble now - next year is our 20th anniversary and the bride has got an idea we better celebrate 'right' - which means elaborately and expensively ;) after she saw the video of a marriage proposal stunt by one of our programming guys at the main church. Be amazed by it at  http://acomplicatedwoman.blogspot.com/

Good morning all,

Another cold day in SE Indiana.  Where is the global warming????  Belated Birthday Wishes to John F!  Spent all day at work gathering and massaging data for report.  Thought I was nearly done when I looked at the formatting requirements.  Looks like another day will be all shot to h---!  Dennis, your movie is finally coming to Greensburg.  I will be encouraging people to go see it.  CASA is Court Appointed Special Advocate, which is a volunteer position that deals with child custody cases.  The CASA functions as the advocate for the child and does interviews with all affected parties.  The only compensation she gets is mileage for travel.  Weird night.  Had the swearing in ceremony for her at 5, supper at Frisch's at 6, home after 7, crashed for a while, watched "Private Practice" at 9, eBay at 10, bed at 11, and could not sleep.  Up at 1, did a little work project, finally got four hours sleep, and slept on way into work.  I had the regular fare on the dining car.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning from central North Carolina!  Kind of cold this morning, in the mid to upper twenties.

fifedog: The USS Nashville is an amphibious transport dock ship.  Not very glamorous, but very important with a beach assault.

As for the “old” layout, I don’t use it as much as I should.  Time and energy have been the biggest constraints lately.  I’m still dreaming of having a permanent layout some day.

Morning all from Southern Ohio

Cool and overcast this morning.  Stopped by Wally world and picked up the paint to refurbish the 593 tower and picked up a couple of cheapy clamp on work lamps for my picture “studio”.

DougM – Good luck on the anniversary!  I am notoriously bad at picking gifts.  I usually ask some of the bride’s friends for suggestions.

Mike C – CASA sounds like a good cause.

May God bless

Jim

Good Morning All

Cloudy and 34, should be 40. My wife got locked out of daughters house this morning (at the side storm door), so daughter runs home from work(not to far)and the front storm door was locked too so neither could get in. They managed to pry the side storm open but I don't know how much damage they did. And so another day begins. With the house to myself till 3:30 I wonder what I should do today,,hmmm.

Have a safe one...S.J.

Cold and snowy..two deer on the pole...getting cold and ready to head home...been spending hours while in the blind thinking about different ideas for the layout.

Thought of SJ yesterday morning while eating my waffles..I noticed that the maple syrup I was about to use was from Posen, MI where SJ had mentioned to me he used to hunt....headed back to the woods.. I'll be back to civilization on Sunday..

Good Afternoon from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 36 degrees. No sunshine. No snow.

Today is a good day. Feeling much less leg pain. I'm about ready to take the big trip down the basement stairs. Hopefully on my feet. Wife said I have to do it with her here. She'll be back later. I need to run those trains.

Well, Dining car was here for breakfast and departed for the stops in Ohio and Indiana known as " All Points West ".

Y'all have a great Thursday

Hello from Minneapolis.  It's sunny and windy with a cool 27 degrees.

Got up early to stand in line at TARGET to purchase the wife a music CD put out by a local radio station for charity.  Got there at 3:50am ... yep, you read that correctly.  3:50am!  I couldn't sleep fearing that I'd over sleep ... so I got up and stood in line.  I got the limit of 2 CDs.  They sold 35,000 in less than 30 minutes in the metro area.

I could use a nap!

Have a Great Day and run your trains if you find some free time.  Ran my Marx 666 last night - smokes like crazy!

One thing about trains: It doesn't matter where they’re going. What matters is deciding to get on.

HI GYZ,

Just got done taking the dog for her walk when my BROTHER called and told me about a BIG BUCK sunning himself down by his house.  I told him I wanted to see it. He lives about a half a mile as the crow flies away from me .  So got the dog walked down and low and behold saw a big beautiful 8 pointer laying in the field across from his house under the trees.  We spooked him out with a doe and he was a real wall hanger.  About 18-20 inch spread and about 12 -14 inches high, about 200lbs.  Made my nite now for some WINGs and YUENGs.

WELL, KISS MY GRITS!!!!!!!!

Raised and ready.

Snohio in November in my part of NC is unusual.  Twice in one week, never heard of.  ShockWeatherpersons are saying possible raid by BUCKEYE, JON E and CREW. Sigh  Snohio from midnight to 7 AM per computer model.  Will not stick as low will be 33 and high today was high 50's.  Then more of those crazy clouds blowing by dumping "popcorn" snow during the day like Tuesday.  Now that is funny.  Sun shining and snohioing.

Now for some train time.  Later.

PS: got a great nephew on the way.  This server is crawling.

Tried talking to DirecTV again this afternoon, interestingly I got different version from two days ago, wish I could talk directly to a manager and just be done with it.  I ran into town after my latest conversation and talked to the owner of the store where I want to buy the new TV and he gave me a few suggestions to see if we can get the ball rolling.  I will stay with DirecTV because (except for the storms) they've been acceptable......... sort of.  I just don't have any other options as I've heard even worse stories about DishTV, maybe I should just buy more trains and forget about TV.

34 in St. Louis.  Wife went and got keys for truck, checked it out with the guy at the body place before they closed.  I took rental back and picked up truck but it is already dark out.  From what I can see, it looks like they did a good job.  Chilling out with Chewy while the family watches Survivor.

Howdy All

still cold, down in the low 20s tonite and 31 tomorrow. I did let the Hogwarts X make a few laps today, good smoker without choking you to death. On the otherhand most of my day was just being lazy. Nothing new to report so I shall save space and go. Could save a lot of space if the chief could see to read. Or clean his screen.

Banilla is waiting....S.J.

Just read that the guy who stars in the new Twilight movie wants to be the next Dr. Who since David Tennant is going to move on from the role.  David was in one of the Harry Potter movies and so was this guy.  Could be interesting I guess, but I think this new guy is too young personally.

Sir J - on the way.  I need some banilla after having a lunch of nachos Dead

Evening all

I got the 593 stripped, primed and a lot of the color coats on.  I think it is going to turn out OK.  Good low key day around here.  Got a 748 Footbridge from the UPS man.  It is really nice.  I took a few pics and will post them Sunday.

Fife – I got the email about the exchange.  I think it is going to be neat.  What are we going to use for a car?  I’ll donate one, but it would be “S”.

Chuck – PLEASE be careful going down the stairs!

Jim F – How is Chewy?

Take care

May God bless

Jim
