Got home last night and wired up the crossing gates and after a few "challenges", got them to work with the 153IR.  I'll have to get another one so it works with both tracks.  And, surprisingly, I can still solder!!!

Laz, That's not a quake, now this is a quake:

The U.S. Geological Survey said Monday's first quake measured magnitude 6.6 and struck at 4:30 p.m. 50 miles west of Lhasa, more than 1,600 miles from Beijing.

The second temblor measuring magnitude 5.1 hit about 15 minutes later, some 60 miles west of the Tibetan capital, it said.

Now that would really mess up the house.

Evening everyone.  Beautiful Ohio fall day, but tomorrow we are to see rain which means I can't sneak out and play golf.

Nothing exciting, can't wait to put Wes in the car and head east to York.

Nothing noteworthy in Roger's Corners.

I am beginning to think that a DVR is the best thing ever invented.  You can blow past all the commercials for the politicians.  Most likely they will catch on and pass a law making it illegal to blow off their commercials.  Of course, if the Chief were on TV I would record his commercials to make my video, "America's Funniest Southern Mayors".

Need to go run trains.

Evening y'all!  Had a good day.  Finished early and was able to have lunch with my bride for a change.  Just got notified a auction I won will arrive on Saturday.  Wife's side of the family will be here when yet more trains arrive.  I am sure that will get some discussion from the MIL.  Of course I have no problem with setting her straight.

Planning on a early night as I have some cases starting dark early and will be heading out at 0430.  Also have a appt. to catch up with internal med. guy.  Need to get some things checked out and run yearly tests.

Rich, nice avatar.  I have to dig through my old photos from HFD.  On another subject, did you see my post to your regarding the Jersey Central engine on ChooCHoo Auctions?  It is a H16-44 in Command Control.   SOmeone has bid on it, but it is still a low current bid.  I have one and it is a good engine.

To all you Ohio folks, I don't envy you with the political commercials.  It is good to live in a state that both votes in like manner and is considered off the schedule for these political pundits.

Anyway, Hope everyone has a blessed night.

Evenin' All.

Everybody getting ready for the BIG debate? I promised the better half that I wouldn't throw anything at the TV and would try to watch my language, should close the doors & windows and turn on the AC. Don't want to teach the neighborhood youth a new vocabulary.

Looks as though any additional expenditures for choochoos and their accessories are put on an indefinite hold.

Good evening all,

Well, gentlemen (since it has been a while since the ladies have been here), eat your hearts out as I (and the saucy wench in the kitchen) entertained over 20 of the loveliest ladies (and one of their brothers) in the world this evening.  "My" soccer girls were at our place tonight for an after practice pizza party.  We ordered 5 20" party pizzas and 4.5 of them were gone by the time the festivities were over.  One of the coaches was here as well.  It was a wonderful evening and every body had a good time.  I hope everyone has a good day ( I sure did ).

Keep on training,

Evening all,

Just got home from work, spent most of the day in training and not the fun kind.  It wasthe annual HazMat Refresher.  Going back over incident Command, and responding with  Level A turnout gear.  It is OK so long as it's not for real.  That gets exciting fast.

With market taking another dive retirement in the next year is fading fast.  I feel for those who are relying on investments for retirement income.  Guess that is why Chief still works!

Going  to knock off some studying before the debate starts.

May God bless

GOOD EVENING ALL

We had a sunny day, low 60s,rain expected before morning. I didn't do much today just got a hair cut and of course the grass needs one too, but warmer weather near the end of the week is what I'll wait for. I found another engine I forgot about, a MPC Berk. in Southern green, a real beauty and that one is not going in its box just yet. It might have thirty minutes run time at the most. Well its confirmed, Dr. tomorrow morning for sure,I was looking at next weeks events by mistake this morning. Have a good one.

OK Brutus fire up the Tardis, I got banilla and cupcakes...S.J.

Evenin' all

Yeah, Dennis I did see that CNJ, but I really am not into the diesels- yet.  I have 5 diesel in the roster - 2 Beeps, 1 Boxcab, 2 Alcos & 1 Texas Special, the rest are all steam.

I've had that picture for a while, at Christmas I'll post that avatar when the season comes.  I'm planning to go up to NJ the day after Christmas and spend the week, come home New Years weekend.  The princess and I will be going, the wife and son will be staying home (I have a lot of vacation time).  So I hope to see the "guys" at the firehouse.

Lost again at softball 17-8 I went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Jack, I haven't picked up the bike yet, haven't had time to do so, and the wife and I are currently at odds about the princess (don't ask Banged Head [banghead]), so she's stays away from the bike.  I'll be riding solo for a while (and for now, that's ok Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]).

Well, time to listen to the "lies", I wish someone would really tell it like it is.  Maybe I should runLaugh [(-D]

See ya tomorrow!

Evenin' Fellas.

Was kindly reminded this evening that I've not been around lately. Everything is fine here. Just very busy with work.

Wes, Buckeye, Fife, and who ever can meet for dinner next Thursday how about 7:30 at Isaac's Deli:
Carlisle Commerce Center
2159 White St.
York, PA 17404

If that works shoot me an email to confirm and I'll be there.

Probably never will get caught up on the 'Pot, and I'm sorry for that. Hope all are well/healing and I hope to get back more often.

Buckeye and Chief - Do we need to seperate you two again?

Brent,

I'm sure Buckeye and I will be there!  I asked the doctor if I could walk without crutches that weekend, and she said no...I kinda expected that.  Oh well, it will keep me from spending too much.

HI GIZ,

42 and cool here I can see my breath this morning, to get to 68.  I ran my Legacy with Lionel grey FEF and NP RS11 and Sante fe FTs all ran good with new Cab2.  The only thing that I noticed was the red lites on the Legacy were still flashing after overnite charge up.  This should have been green lites for 100% charge in bateries.  Even though on the Legacy screen showed all charged up.  Anyway NO PILE UPs.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s.  Sorry I missed the Tardis run, but we were cleaning up after the party.  Also I misplaced my keys in the haste to get everything ready and some time was spent finding them.  Checked eBay and did some Second Life as well.  I had cinnamon bread as a change of pace on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning!

Spent some $$ with Jeff at the Train Tender for the GG1.  Nice guy, and really knows his trains.  Finally, I can get these last 2-projects completed.  182 Crane and 2332 GG1.  I guess I'll need to find another project...??Whistling [:-^]

Rain here so no outside painting, but I have plenty to do inside.

Good Morning everyone.  Hope everyone is doing well.  I stayed up last night to watch the debate.....not impressed by either choice.  Would prefer to vote for Sarah, but will take the better of the two choices.  They are saying that Iceland is on the verge of bankruptcy, and all the markets are way down....looks like a long winter ahead.

Well, I have a patient in the room, so I will try to check in later.

With good planning a down turn in the stock market doesn't have to delay ones retirement plans. The market is for "long term" investments.  A financial expert told me many years ago not to invest money in the stock market that you will need in the next 10 years.

Mornin' boys.  Partly sunny & 46 here in the Mid-Atlantic region (s'posed to start raining over night).  Gotta wait til the sun swings around to the front of fifedom to finish painting.  The bottoms of my heels are killing me.  Will pop the door off it's hinges and strip it tomorrow.

Did get some train time in last night while listenin' to the debate.  Got my cement retaining walls into place, and used our MTH Premier SD40-2 (the proverbial "bull in the china shop") to check the clearances.  Really coming together.

Morning all. Grey, warm and drizzling here today.

Rich for President!

Mike C, I was just thinking how long 5 pizzas would last with a team of teenage boys... ;)

Missed my conductor friend on my late scoot home.  Have to take care of another parking ticket from the outsourcer in my commuter lot - I get one each week - the issuer can't count. I have to call a number, fax my 'paid' reciept and get it off their books. Ridiculous. I have an interesting meeting later with visitors from University of Glasgow. Hope you have a good day.

Had to laugh at your post because it's shared by many of us, and our train interests are not represented in the Emergency Economic Stabilization bill.  My 87 year old FIL called yesterday and wanted the dope on the additional $110 billion supplementals, tax breaks, because he doesn't have a computer and access to the net.  He then observed that he strongly approved of two of them:  sections 308 and 322, for the rum industry (est. impact $192M) and Nascar track builders ($100M). Wife grabbed the remote last night and flipped on the Mel Gibson/Rene Russo movie, RANSOM.  Kind of appropriate.

Good Morning,

Trees were cut down yesterday by my neigbor on the west side of the property line, no more worry about metal building getting hit by falling tree during a strong storm. Tree cutters tore up grass a bit on my side with their truck, raked the area after truck moved, just lost some crabgrass or weeds so no problem for me.

Went to doctor yesterday, he wants me to get routine stuff done like X-ray and blood work, also an colon-scope test.

Going to paint the landing area window frames again, paint has fade marks in it.

Train show in Dearfield Beach FL next saturday the 18th of October at the Amtrac/Tri-Rail Station.

I keep asking myself the same question...LOL!

It had a rusty frame, so it's a complete restoration.  I sandblasted the superstructure, and have been playing with the paint.  I just ordered a new boom, and cable, so maybe I can get it wired up by the weekend.
