THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE ALL DID EXCEPT WE INVITED EACH OTHER. EXPECT TO BE TREATED JUST LIKE FAMILY, EXCEPT FOR THE PART WHERE WE HAVE TO EAT GRITS! I AM CERTAIN IF YOU POINT OUT THE PART OF THE HERD YOU WANT THINNED OUT, WE CAN CRANK UP THE OBNOXIOUS FACTOR AND DRIVE THEM OUT IN SHORT ORDER.

I would get suspicious that they are passing your name around amongst themselves on the golf course when you get a call from an OB/GYN to come in for an appointment.
Morning!

Spent yesterday plumbing. Only a HD 2-tripper! Drain pipe broke at laundry tub. Discovered after I removed floor tile preparing to cut-out the floor, break was above the floor. DOH. New PVC cleanout, and drain installed, now on to the drywall patching.
Brutus: Meant to turn beacon on last night...too tired. Plumbing and children don't mix. Especially when the youngest won't let you out of her site. Putting tools back into garage was drama. Great news on the new car! I'm leaning toward the 2008 v2 Ringling Bros. Dining car. I pre-ordered the yellow one. I think the white one needs to be on the list.
Morning all. Have been up and running for the last few hours. Did my daily reading and then tackled the dryer. I would have done the dryer yesterday, but son would be there to "help" and with some of the things I needed to do, that could be bad. To test the thermostats, you remove them, place them on a cook top at temp above the rated temp and see if they open. Long story short, the heater element is broken. I still checked everything else. Bad part is that the replacement is on backorder.
I did thumb through some train magazines and a guy at work handed me a DVD of some rails in the south that I need to check out. I think it is on Seabord and ACL. Lots to do today, and I am on call. Hope to get to it if they leave me alone.
RT, thanks for the kind thoughts. I think you are a fine gentleman too. Been missing the Tardis trips lately, but someone has to work. As it is, I had to cancel my elk hunting trip. HOpe to make it next year. The way gas has been, it will probably cost twice as much to go next year.
HOpe everyone has a great weekend. Be safe and run some trains.

Mornin' boys. Sunny & 55 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Have to wait a little bit for the moisture to disappate before I can get back to the business end of my paintbrush.
Dropped off oldest princess for her S A T test this morning. If it were a Scholastic ATTITUDE Test, she'd score a perfect 1600...

I wish you werer too. trained those guys in the store and they were good listeners. Also asked questions. That means they paid attention. They can handle themselves. We could be train watching and photoing. BTW I ride up US1 to the store instead of I95. Have not found your secret train "intersection".
Morning all. Off to the store for the day. Hope all have a great weekend. Wes and Chuck, good luck with the leg things. Mine is better. God bless.

Well the weather GIZ here yesterday said beautiful weekend NO RAIN. Guess what its raining. TOM DA WRONG does it again. Seems to NEVER GET IT RIGHT. Oh well, cool and rainy here today at 45 then to get to 63? Had a great fire with wife and dog last nite. Burgers and OL MILs at the outdoor fireplace. Great time. Then came in to run trains for an hour. Watched last part of the baseball game til I fell asleep in recliner. GO RAYS. There manager JOE MADDON, is a friend of mine we played football together in high school and worked a few months in a juvenile detention home. Nice guy, wish him all the luck.
BRUTUS, sent you my fishin photos.
KURT, when I try to access Shutterfly and click on pic this comes up....
We're sorry; the system has encountered an error. Please try again.

Here ya go Laz! Looks like a lot of fun to me! What kind of line did you use?
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Kurt - good news on the drain! Been there with the kids, they get over it after a while, but then you miss it! I'll go back to Dennis' last day off and pick him up tonight, then swing bye and get the rest of you guys. Too early to think about it too hard now though. Have to go get cleaned up and we've all got eye doc appointments this morning. I've got to rearrange stuff in the garage and see how I can fit those metal shelving units around the place to the best advantage. Two will probably go downstairs to my workshop and two remain upstairs. I am thinking of redoing our mud room across the whole garage and I want to reverse the hookups and plumbing for the washer and dryer so that the dryer has a short vent to the outside instead of going all the way across the room behind the washer. That's a project for after I finish the basement though!
Gotta go - more later, everyone have fun and do something with your trains today!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 50 degrees. Going up to a cool 64 today with sunshine.
Today is a good day. I am walking better. Did some steps w/o the walker. Worked out well. Still can't get down to the train room. I have been told that there " will NOT be a layout in MY living room. " I wonder about one in MY half. LOL
Dining car was here and I had breakfast. Cheerios.
Y'all hqve a great Saturday.
Chuck
GOOD MORNING
I was slow to get up this morning, but at least the sun is shining.
Laz nice fish, you will need diecast flatcars for that load.
Of course Sat. is football day so I think the trains may have to wait. Enjoy your day......S.J.

Laz......while you were fisin', we were out shopping for your Christmas present. Thought another B unit or two might be nice, prototypical. The exercise has planted a question in my mind. Why does the F3 2343 corner so much lust over the F7 El Capitan? Enjoy.

Brutus, thanks for posting the Laz fishing pictures. He was probably in shock after catching a fish and lost his mind !
THANKS JIM for the fishin pics. They were loades o fun to catch and we did release them when we was done, so they could spawn and then die. But what a great time we had. Next year we go up on OCT 3-4-5th can't wait. Today up in PULASKI NY it was 40 degrees to start the day a bit chilly. THANKS AGAIN JIM. I guess I'll have to start a photobucket?
SIR JAMES, I need that aqurium car Lionel came out with a few years ago.
JACK, those B Units would look great on the FT ABA. Problem is they are going for a C Note on Ebay. I ran mine last nite and is still one of the prettiest set that I own.

Missed other things today - so I get to rest, watch football and read the paper between napping. Hmmm, sounds pretty good - except I'm sick... ;) I'll get up for the homecoming dress-up...
Doug, I feel pretty much the same way, though my sickness is due to what the White Sox and Cubbies are doing, self destructing. At least I have the Red Sox in the hunt. So many were predicting the Angels, but the guys at the ends of their batting order aren't getting it done. Plus, your pitching can't give up close to 5.5 runs a game and expect to win in the playoffs. A lot of folks may not have noticed, but Boston has a sound defense and some team speed to balance out the rough spots.
SPMan wrote:Jack, I thought that was a pretty good excuse for missing one question. Actually I thought I missed 3 or 4 but was either smarter or luckier than I thought. Either way I'll take it all the way to the bank! (Or should that be under the mattress with current finanacial jitters?)
SPMan.....not to be redundant, but you have to be on a high with the way your eye issue has turned out. Waiting a few weeks before you can crawl around under the layout is a very small price to pay in the exchange.

Laz......Set up a fish stand out in front of your house to fund the purchase. Your two powered A units were a good move, make a second dummy B unit feasible without wacking passenger cars from the length of the consist. So you can afford to wait until one more comes along. I was searching for pics of something else late last night and came across the FT pic. Got me to thinking of changing my postwar SF Warbonnet F3 fettish. So many choices.
Evening all. Twice I have typed a long post and the hotel's computer suddenly "eats" it. Their room internet service is down. Tried to call the Holiday Inn national help desk and it is busy busy busy.
Fife, understand from Fifedum princess you are still on your perch. Ashland VA is a good place. Grace is dispatching CSX and has trains backed up for miles per some nut with a camera. One of those Buckeye know it alls.
Amtrac coming through Ashland VA.
Hitting the road at noon for Lake House. Wife and her sisters went to Clarksville VA to Fall Festival. Loved it. No under the gun to get painting done before I get there tomorrow. She says sisters are bailing out on her now it is time to work. Figured as much.
Off to room to rest and sleep. Have a good one.
PS: Rock, reason it took Laz so long to get pictures posted is Shutterfly was not letting him super-impose a fish on to a picture of himself with out streached hands.
PS: PS: Finally, they have it fixed. Been complaining since late yesterday evening. Someone else complained and I did this AM to owner in the loby. Was blocked when I got her this afternoon and Holiday Inn national help desk was busy busy busy. Bet it was a national thingy. On laptop again.
Rock, look at this.

Chief - Come to think of it,the little one came out (whilst I was 30 feet up) and said some guy who she couldn't understand was on calling my cell phone... Guess we need an ENGLISH-GRITS/GRITS-ENGLISH dictionary in fifedom.
cnw1995 - Here, cough on me, Doug-a-roo...
Laz - are you and BRO holding same guppy...
Went to eye doc and got a new prescription - $200 bucks gone for 4 exams for me and the family and one pair of glasses. They priced out a new script for my wife at $500. Oh well, it's just money I guess. She wants to check another place and see if she can get a better price. I spent the rest of the day putting some metal shelf units together and bolting them to a wall in the garage and then taking some others apart and moving them down to the basement. Also moved stuff around in the garage into the new storage I created. Hey - apparently the wife thought I did a good job!
Doug, hope you feel better soon. I have some cold Blue Moons for you when you do
Howdy All
Doug get better, us old guys are suppose to be the sick ones. Cuddle up to something warm like a bottle of Old Tennis Shoe or some other brand you like. I did the laundry which for two people is not a big deal, Wife stunk up the house canning beets. Then on to football. The Buckeyes are playing now but not at their best so far tonite. Brutus I have no insurance for eyeglasses and mine were around four hundred if I recall correctly. Oh well fire up the thingy and lets go somewhere warm...S.J.
Good evening everyone. Was a busy day, got to SEARS Parts store and picked up a heating element for the dryer. Turns out as of 25 October, they and 47 other Sears Parts stores are closing. Hate that. Now everything will be done on the phone or computer. Add shipping to it all.
Had a nice conversation with His Honor this morning. Hope things picked up at BPS. Then, son had Chinese lessons and before I could help with the birthday parties the kids were to go to, I got called in for an emergency. Pretty tired. I am either coming down with something like Doug, or I am just at the point of exhaustion. Heading for bed and hopefully a full night of rest.
Rich, ChooChooAuctions has a Jersey Central H16-44 with command with a starting bid of $155. I have this engine and it is very nice. Not sure if you are in the market. These are known as the "baby trainmasters".
Doug, hope you get to feeling better soon. I have duty tomorrow as well. Not sure if I will be on lights or camera.
God Bless,
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Dennis, went to see "Fireproof" last night. Good movie. Nice that you got a train scene in it although that was pretty dramatic. I saw your name in the credits. Pretty impressive. Although I recognized Kirk Cameron right off the bat, some of the other main players looked vaguely familiar. I guess I could IMDB them to find out what else they had been in. The "Wrath of God" scene was pretty funny. "My" soccer girls tied a game they should have won today. Not a good way to end the regular season. Wife and I went shopping for some new furniture today. We also went to the fairground where they were having a home improvement show. I also mowed the yard and the wife and I got the house work done as well. I plan to wash some vehicles tomorrow. I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast this morning. I hope everyone has a good day. Brutus, the beacon is lit for the Tardis. Extra bacon and biscuits are on board for everybody.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Ran trains tonite after church and dinner with wife and BRO and SIL. Watched movie on HBO, JODY FOSTER in a vigallante movie sort a reminded me of Death Wish with CHARLES BRONSON. Pretty good save for the end. Then went downstairs ran trains for an hour, NO PILE UPs. Great nite in the MILLERSBURG YARDS. Ran my MTH NIAGARA, NYC F3 ABAs, and Lionel NP RS11, and of course the ABA SANTA FE El Capitan. All ran great!!!!
FIFE you are correct about DA FISH. BRO caught his the day before and we weighed it but didn't have the camera because of the hike. So we took this pic because of how close it was to mine. GOOD EYE .
