SPMan, do you have sleep apnea then?  Glad you came through the surgery.  I had an appendectomy about 2 years ago now and spent a lot of time playing with Lego's.

Cold nights and cooler days - I think it got up around 70 today?  There was no OT scheduled this weekend, so I set up a doctor appointment for an eye checkup.  Now they offer OT!  D'oh!  Oh well, gotta get the peepers checked.  Then, Saturday night we have a birthday party to attend for some friends' kids.

Started working up plans for my next layout.  This is fun Thumbs Up [tup]

GOOD EVENING ALL

Forgot again. Not a nice day here, damp, windy some rain and 58.

The nite oxygen thing SPman is talking about is what my Dr. is checking me for but I don't see him about my test until Tuesday. I hope nobody sees the sleep tape. I was in the train room today but didn't run anything. I saw a shipping list on the other forum so maybe the train store will be getting some new Lionel to look at soon. Enjoy your Friday.

Brutus one full container of banilla left, better hurry....S.J.

Good evening all,

The beacon for the Tardis is lit.  Beam me up.  I could use a respite from all the talking past each other tonight on the debate.  No moose skinning tonight, but not "gored" by one, either.  I am just "Biden" my time.  I hope everyone has a good day.

SP, that is "no good".  Three days each of three times being in the hospital for that.  Now we catch it before it gets that bad.  I have it every year.  Know what to look for.  Treat it with meds and stay home.  BTW:  Since then, neck surgery and 6 by-passes.  A little leg injury is nothing.

This store is arranged different from any ohter one I have worked.  Actually arranged to make since.

Have fun working tomorrow, Chief Laugh [(-D]

Doug - most of my stuff is in tubs and covered to keep dust out in the basement.  I actually got my transylvania trolley a couple weeks ago I think.  I think I might tack some track down on a long board, put stops at either end (tombstones?) and decorate the ground with some kinds of folliage and just run the trolley on our island between the kitchen and livingroom.  I bought a big fake pumpkin last year, so it could go through a kind of tunnel, too?  I might work something up this weekend.  I can't wait to see what you do this year, you inspire me every year!

Banilla sounds good, guys the TARDIS is on and warmed up (it's only 50 degrees here right now).  I will pick you all up in a little while, have to go buzz a golf course on the way Wink [;)]  Mike can drive again, but we need to not land on Doug's deck since he just cleaned it I guess!

Well, worked late, but was able to watch the "show" tonight.  Chief, She Did It!  Of interest now, NS is sponsoring the debate coverage and it is a joy watching the commercials while all the talking heads discuss the events of the evening.

God Bless,

Evenin' All,

My latest toy arrived today, just finished putting it thru it's paces. Passed with flying colors, Atlas B&O (best & only) GP9 w/EOB, TMCC & RS. The EOB with 128 speed steps is sweet, runs just smooth as silk even when it was going slower than molasses in winter. Only thing that would have made it better would have been in a passenger paint scheme as opposed to freight. Thumbs Up [tup]

Brutus, Remember those plastic bones, I'm looking at something special for those suckers. Hopefully I can still find more of them at the dollar store. Pictures forthcoming upon completion. Mischief [:-,]

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  Long night for the soccer teams.  At last report, the boys were losing 1-0 on the road (never heard the final as I was busy driving the Tardis, which BTW is great in the turns and down on power on the straightaways (like every other racer that has been built since the dawn of time)).  As expected, "my" soccer girls got pounded by a very good team.  It did not help that the starting goalie had the worse night of her career.  She could not stop flying grits last night.  There were other events associated with the game that were unsettling as well in terms of who played, who didn't, and how long people played.  It was a very strange game.  More bad news occurred on the local and national scene as well.  The local football coach "resigned" for personal reasons, of which the town is speculating about in a variety of ways.  Rumors floating around during the game cited all sorts of reasons, some serious and some frivolous.  The sad thing is how the kids are affected, both his own and the ones he coached.  Also, Helio Castroneves, two time Indy 500 champion, was indicted on tax fraud and evasion charges today.  That is not a good sign.  I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope (really hope) everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 55 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Received a wireless communication that a Southern "force" has taken position just 2 1/2 hours away.  I'm pretty tired from setting up a picket line all night, and trying to amass forces along the north shore of the Po-to-mac.  Actually, if I were free one day, I'd head to Ashland to colaborate about rail.  I did take a couple hours last night to watch Sar, I mean the VP debate.  Did anyone else find themselves covering Biden with their left hand...?

cheapclassics - Helio probably just "misplaced" that 5.5 mil....

Wes - the oil companies have re-educated the American public into being happy about gas at $3.27.  DRILL NOW! DRILL NOW! DRILL NOW!!!!!!

On the homefront, we lost 4 souls (2 troopers, 1 EMT, 1 accident victim) in a horrible Medivac crash in Southern Maryland this week.

Morning all. Grey, damp, cool here. Weather reflecting how Cubs and Sox are playing. I'm annoyed I seem to have another cold. It's homecoming weekend at the h.s. with a patsy scheduled for tonight's game.  Spent some time browsing a LHS in Woodstock yesterday - didn't pick up anything.

Mornin' boys

56 here going up to 83 today, and it's Homecoming Football night for the Princess.  I plan on being there, but I'll be wearing my I survived my 30th Class Reunion (a different High School of course), just to tweek the locals...I know, I'm evil...Evil [}:)]

Fife - I saw that.  Next to New Jersey's Medi-vac (North Star & South Star), Maryland's Medi-vac is the pride of the US.  A 16 y/o accident victim survived not only the inital MVA, but the air evac crash.  Pilot was retired MSP.  Prayers to those in that incident.  We loose more good people everyday, in public service.  You may want to check www.firefightersclosecalls.com lots of good info (even for you guys in blue...).

Watched Pinks All Out on Speed last night, as they were at my old Home Track in Englishtown, NJ.  Mopars were well represented....

LTS tomorrow and not sure what after that.  I should get started on the engine compartment, as Sunday I have to attend a party for a co-worker that's taking the plundge (poor guy).

See ya later!

Temps are a little cooler, in the mid 80's and near 70 overnight, can give the air conditioner a little rest.

Just got off the phone with the insurance man, homeowners insurance is due, $2600.00 for the year with 40% down or $1100.00 due in a couple of weeks. What do these insurance people Pirate [oX)]SoapBox [soapbox]think that most people are made of?  Looks like the holidays were stolen by the Insurance Grinch this year!!

Good mornin', ya'll, from sunny NE Taxachussets,

Overnight temps later in the week forecast for high 30s, first time this Fall in this neck of the woods. Sad [:(]

Sorry for the downer tone of yesterdays' post.  Last night's debate got me out of my funk, feel much reassured after watching.  Whistling [:-^]  Fife, my left hand got tired, used cardboard and duck tape on the screen.  Was tough getting the adhesive off the screen so I could watch something truly productive and meaningful, like the MLB playoffs.

Just to add to what others have posted about fallen police, fire, and safety men and women. We lost 6 firefighters in Worcester a few years back.  They entered an burning abandoned warehouse with no regard for their own lives on a report there were homeless people trapped inside.  There were no folks in the warehouse, but the firefighters didn't make it out.  Prayers, and every day.  How many of us could ever muster that ultimate level of selfless courage?

Glad to hear our knee/leg challenged members Wes, Chuck, and Chief are continuing to make great progress.  Chuck has graduated from quiet and low key, to frustrated, to train room separation anxiety, now near angry.....train room access soon to follow?  Was surprised Chief capitulated, followed Dennis' advice, and paid his Doc a visit to check out his sledgehammer induced "swollen leg"....wonder if Doc's gender had more to do with this precautionary measure than a rational concern for his own well being . Whistling [:-^]

SPMan/Ray..... prayers for your sister's complete recovery. Thumbs Up [tup]  Super outcome on the eye surgery. Thumbs Up [tup]  Now you can replenish your trains parts inventory with all the stuff you find on the train room floor, once you get the green light from the Doc.  Brutus/Jim.....good luck on the eye test.  Study hard. Big Smile [:D]

Sir James.....aren't you getting frustrated with all of the medical tests that tell you what it is not, rather than what it is?  Actually, that may be good news.  We're all still waiting for the video from your "sleep" test.  Wonder what it will be rated. Whistling [:-^]

Still no fish pictures from Laz to go with the fish stories.  Must still be out on the net looking for the correct indiginous species. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

ANJ/Rich.....a few minor fixes on your post purchase HD glitches and you will be back in business, no problema.  My dog trainer has 3 bikes.  She rides the Yamaha and the Honda for serious, longer distance cruising, and the HD closer to the ranch.  Buys nothing but used so she can have choice and always a backup.  Some may consider that wasteful overkill; but with the shorter riding season up here, you can't afford to waste what precious time you have.

Memories of Englishtown NJ and the Summernationals.  Guy who rebuilt my motor won Superstock E with his white over white 69 Hemi Charger with a 10.86 et.  I may be dating myself with the classification and certainly with the et.  Can you guess what year that was, based on the (high) et?

Lee.....why not just put a lock on the garbage cans to counter the ingenuity and dexterity of the racoons?

DougM.....White Sox and Cubs' losses, doom and gloom from this ex Chi-town boy.  Beginning to think I too will join previous generations of Americans and won't live long enough to see the Cubbies finally win a world championship and end a century long drought. Banged Head [banghead] Sad [:(]

Chief....Lucy being the pup she is, consider yourself lucky and that teeth marks on the cordless phone were the only damage.  My female Dobie when a pup did a thorough number on the Comcast remote.  I placed the wires, circuit boards, number pads, and assorted other pieces in a plastic bag, took into local Comcast office for the $40 replacement.  When the sevice folks stopped laughing, said I topped the charts that week for "what went south with my remote" stories.  Gave me a replacement for nothing.

TGIF and wishes for a great weekend to all.

Jack

Brutus, no I don't have sleep apnea.  When I was in the hospital my blood oxygen level apparently went below a safe level.  Since then it has always been good.  It varies between 90 and 98 depending on how I breath or exercising or resting.  Personally, I think my doctor is being over cautious with the oxygen therepy.  I have been on it for 10 months now.  I have no problem without it during my waking hours.  I would like to get off of it so I can travel without any problem.

Chief, if you only need o2 for 3 days each time then you must be fine with your breathing.  Glad to hear it.  Sounds like you are a real veteran with all your past battles in the health care department.  Continued good luck and good health to you.

Sir James, good luck with the oxygen test.

RockIsland52,  My sister came through the surgery and is doing OK.  I will talk to her soon.

I went into the DMV yesterday for my License renewel and passed the test.  Yippee!  I was a little worried because I won't get my new glasses for about three more weeks but my license expires on October 13th.  It has only been a little over a week since I had the cataract removed.  I only missed one question on the written test and that was a dumb mistake where I new the right answer but checked the wrong box.  Now I can get back to working on my trains.  Ray

Good Afternoon everyone!

Chief, sorry I didn't get back with you.  I got the message that you had called late last night.  I will try over the weekend to catch up with you.

EDW, Yeah, amazing how bad congress can foul up the works!Wink [;)]  These things are cyclical and we will get through this.

Jack, I remember that fire.  Was several days before they finally found the last guy.  Was started by a homeless guy with a candle as I recall.  That one really stunned the whole community.

RT, not sure how a blockage could dissappear like that, but it could be a few scenerios...If the camera angle was off, it would look as if there was a blockage where the artery became tortuous.  Another thing that does happen, arterial spasms.  If it happens while you are on the table and they see it, that is one thing, they can give meds and fix it.  If it happens while you are in everyday life, you could have chest pains, potential clot formation do to stagnation, and even a infarction.  Best bet is to stay on top of things.  If you start to have pain in the future, don't try to wait it out, go get checked.

Well, again, I am here, waiting to finish the schedule.  Have a dryer to fix, and two birthday parties to take the kids to.  I may never get it all done.  Oh well.

Have a great weekend, and may God Bless,

Dennis

SPMan/Ray.......I used that excuse on my wife; but she laughed, wasn't buying it!  Said I wasn't as smart as I thought I was.   BTW, she aced it.  Whistling [:-^]  She sat in a desk across the isle from me.  I have steadfastly maintained these past 20 years that she copied my answers and did something untoward to me when I was answering that one question I missed.  Got distracted and checked the wrong box.  Yup, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

RT......great news!  Your hot streak remains intact.  Go buy a lottery ticket tonight.

Dennis......yes, as the news accounts went (and to the best of my memory), a homeless group had nowhere to go and had taken up residence in the abandoned warehouse.  Left a burning candle which started the fire.  Locals knew they were living in there, hadn't seen them leave, and warned the firefighters.  Everyone was equal in the eyes of the firefighters, both great and small.  I'll let everyone judge for themselves if that was heroism.  Seems like the word doesn't measure up to the ultimate price they bravely paid for complete strangers.

RT - that Dennis guy is a fine gentleman, I owe him a dinner and he never snuck any grits in on me!  If I had to have someone cut on me, I'd want him to be there passing gas (or whatever they call it) on the heart/lung machine Laugh [(-D]  Missed talking to you and Sir James tonight.  Got off work and family went out to eat for a belated anniversary dinner (only about 1.5 months late) and then had to shop for a birthday present for some friends' kid.  We're running tomorrow too, so maybe Sunday?

Sir James, I'm gonna hit the way back circuit and come get some banilla, so I hope you left that key you know where Wink [;)]

Oh - Trainz shipped my witches brew car/platform and also my Santa gateman from Lionel!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
