RT, go for it.  Great buy and great set. Thumbs Up [tup]   Now for Storm report.  WHAT STORM?  Actually the good Lord looked after us again.  Got 3.25 inches of rain, filled the pond and it is flowing over the spillway, no wind damage and sun came out at 1 PM today.  Everyone is saying we have more wind in a big thunderstorm than this storm.

Might move the Lake House closing up to this Thursday.  My stuff is approved and ready.  Guy is moving this week.  So if his lawyer gets the work done by Thursday, away we go and will own the plac by this coming weekend.  Approve [^]

Got two more end of train devices.  On some cars, the body screws are now under the trucks as they are "enclosed".  Screw driver will not fit under the trucks.  I use the windshield sealing tape and it sticks the the body on tight.  Now I have enough train cars to do end of train devices on all types of trains.  Set those cars aside for use on a "modern type" train.  Don't use them on "older type" trains as use cabooses.  Also use a caboose for a long coal train that has to back into a coal mine.  NS does that to have eyes for the engineer and it has a little whistle to warn for crossings.  NS backs some trains 35 miles into a hollow in the WV mountains.

Later.

Evenin' boys.  Well, HANNA is gone (appears to be over Manhatten now), and pavement is already dry.  My efforts to keep the water out apparently worked.  Basement is bone dry.  Four plastic bags of play sand, who knew?  Actually, I slept through the day, as I've come down with some type of bug with oldest princess.  Good luck to our friends in FLA...IKE appears to be a sob.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It's a beautiful, sunny 55 degrees. Going up to 80 today, with sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I am doing a few chores and then enjoying the weather. I'll have to start the mowing in a few days. Grass is growing slowly. Not too much rain lately.

Two Nascar races today. Ball game. Lots to watch.

Dining car has arrived and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning from the Heart of Buckeyeland.  As Chuck said it is going to be beautiful day.

Ran trains this morning.  Working good.  All switches turning, all engines moving and no derailments.

The Central Ohio Garden RR has their open house today.  They have about 20 RR open to the public.  Baby Buckeye and SIL need to be picked up at the airport, so I don't know if we will get a chance to see any layouts.

Chief......I was really hoping that you would get chance as Mayor to tangle with that hurricane.  I imagined that we would see news photos of you imitating Moses standing on a rock parting the waters.

Mornin' (cough) boys (sniiiiiiiiiiiiffle).  Sunny & 68 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Fifey's-wifey rolled over and announced she's coming down with this bug too...not much gonna happen in fifedom today.  Except watching Nationwide race and Ravens vs Bengals at 1, afternoon games at 4, Magnificent 7,Britney at MTV awards, then NASCAR race tonight.  So, fire up that LAZY-BOY!

Buckeye - I think History's Mysteries showed that Moses had a big bag of grits that he flung into the Red Sea...

88 - Guess who has afternoon court on Friday, October 17th...? Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]  Looks like I won't hit YORK 'til 3.  Perhaps I'll just go Saturday, we'll see...

  HI GIZ,

Well we finally got rain yesterday from HANNA.  2 inches in my rain gauge here in MILLERSBURG, PA.  We'll take it.  Spent yesterday at gun show in HARRISBURG with BRO and FRIEND.  Nice time didn't buy anything, just looking at stuff.  Saw a few newer SOCOMs there a nice NAVY one with collapsable stock.  Pricey!  Went for wings and stromboli and Miller Lites afterwards.

BUCKEYE, glad to see YUZ GIZ gotta a cabin at PINCHOT ST Park.  Hope you asked for the ones with the wood floors?  The others will feel like being at home with the dirt floors.Wink [;)]  Glad to see YUZ GIZ will be there.  I'm planning on Saturday with my wife.  But maybe can make it after 4 o'clock on Friday afternoon?  Don't know yet, but as time gets closer maybe get there walk around with YUZ GIZ and then go out for supper?  Stay tuned.

All b good or b gone,

OH YEA forgot to tell YUZ GIZ,

I contacted LIONEL on Friday after school.  Talked to TECH GUY, about problems with my Cab2, and is sending me a RA number to send back the Cab2.  Said something is wrong with the board inside and will be sending me a new Cab2.  The Cab2 won't stay on with the rechargable batteries and the regular batteries.  Then I did get it to stay on the backlite wouldn't stay on then I would lose all graphics.  Said it was internal problem and they would just send me a new CAB2. FYI.

Good Morning

Wow we have real live rain this morning, not a twenty minute downpour but real rain. I know some of you have had a whole heap, but we have not and we need it. All the rain in the south I'll bet those boxes of instant grits are exploding all over the place. The day is young as they say so I will see how it goes. Enjoy your sunday....S.J.

Morning all.  Fifeydom, get well all.  REB airforce headed to Ike.  Drop more grits to take him down a notch or too like we did Hanna. Wink [;)]  Got to go repair Pam's neice's [good one] golf cart.  Her dad is, OH well never mind.  All battery posts are corroded horrible.  Metal frame that holds batteries is being eaten away with corrosion.  One ring connector on positive was eaten away so he just put bare wire under nut.  It burned the post off of the battery.  I will clean batteries, metal frame, put petroleum jelly on posts and cabel ends and crimp on new ring connector.  Next project please.  Hope all have a great week.

Strange you would say that.  I carry what we call a "Moses Stick" [Rod] in the back of my truck.  It is actually the shaft of an old patio umbrella.  Pretty long and big around.  Used it yesterday morning to unstop some plugged ditches to the pond.  I use it to move big snakes along so they don't have to die.  I also can use it to crack some skulls of tresspassers at the pond property [so I don't have to shoot them]. Shock [:O] Can pry big rocks aloose and lots of things I can do with my Moses Stick.

checking in before heading to the "sports park".  It is a place our church has to provide sporting opportunities for the local people, but we control the people and make sure everyone behaves.  Anyway, we are erecting a 110 ft. cross on the grounds to remind people who is in charge.

Chief, glad you made it through the tough weather.  Lets hope the next few temper down before they hit.

God word my 96yo grandmother is in the hospital with bladder cancer.  She has had a long life, so at this point, it is probably better for her to just be made comfortable vs take any treatments that will knock the life out of her.  Better to have a year of feeling well then two feeling horrible.

Took daughter to Toys-R-Us today for a birthday gift.  While there, I see that they are selling Lionel "G gauge" "Harry Potter" sets.  I am glad to see them selling Lionel, but wish it was O-gauge.

God Bless,

Dennis

Good evening,

Glad to hear that everyone made it through Hanna OK.

Fife, Nice to hear you guys are recovering.

Dennis, It’s a sad situation with your grandmother.  Pray that her last days are comfortable.

Chief, So when is the big lake house warming party for the guys and gals on the coffee pot?

I can't believe that Buckeye and Wes are coming to York for one day.  They probably will only get through half of the buildings and will probably have to take some money back home with them, what a disaster.

Speaking of York, it sounds like we are having a hard time getting a group together for a picture with the guys from CTT.  Any suggestions?  I expect to be there all day Thursday and Friday, possibly Saturday.  I don't plan anything for that time frame.  Have all the dates up to 2014 posted on my computer desk.

I heard the Chief was going to come, but decided to stay in Roseyville to guard against a takeover by the Raleigh politicians.

Good evening all,

It was a cloudy cool day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s.  Watched both the IRL and F-1 races.  Both had wild finishes.  Hamilton won the F-1 race, and Helio won the IRL, but Dixon finished second to win the championship.  Manning salvaged a top ten, but was never a factor.  The Princess was 10th or 11th.  Sarah crashed out again and Milka led her first laps,  Finally fixed an old light for the wife.  Spent some time last night doing Second Life.  Church had 150 year celebration at fairgrounds.  Long mass today with lots of priests and choirs.  Lots of people there.  Too many.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  Fire up the Tardis and cruise by SE Indiana, please.  Just make sure there is lots of chocolate on it as I could use a flight of fantasy.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

EVENING ALL

Sunday turned into a nice day. We got some much needed rain and then the sun came out. Before the end of the first quarter the Lions were behind 21 to 0, so turned it off and took a nap. Looks like I may have quite a few sunday afternoon naps. Spent some time this evening outside with the neighbors, came in at dark, which is coming around faster each week. Working souls time to get ready for Monday, me I'm ready for Brutus to pick me up. Banilla is waiting......S.J.

RT is in the hospital due to chest pains.  Seems to be doing OK now.  May go home tomorrow AM.  1-803-776-4000  Ext 1-3550 [he's watching TV right now]

Fixed niece's golf cart.  SIL and hubby rode with us to the Lake House for a viewing and back.  Good trip.  Buying up stuff for the Lake House [have to have an extra set of everything so you don't have to pack before going and unpack when you get back].  Went to the Lowe's up there [a big one] and checked out new storm door and some other things we want to do.  Now to wind the old clocks [one was my Granddaddy's] and rest.  Luncheon meeting tomorrow.  Buying up stuff for the Lake House [have to have an extra set of everything so you don't have to pack before going and unpack when you get back].  Went to the Lowe's up there [a big one] and checked out new storm door and some other things we want to do.

Evening all,

A nice night out.  The windows are open and listening to the crickets.

We had the grandkids and both daughters here today to celebrate the eldest's birthday. I had a lot of fun playing with the kids.  It was so nice we were outside all afternoon.

Buckeye and Wes - hope you have a good time at York.  Maybe next year I can join you.  With the ebay going to paypal I may be cutting back on train buying so I may have a few dollars to spend.

Chief- Great news on the new place.  IS it going to be a vacation home or your primary residence?

Dennis - I will pray for your Grandma.  BTW, I've heard some very positive things about the movie.

Well time for evening prayers and chill out time

May God bless

Jim

Wow, glad I checked back in before bed time prayers and reading.  Will lift RT up, ask for guidance for his Docs and for a speedy recovery for him.  Scary stuff chest pains.  Don't ever take it lightly.

Sturgeon-Phish, thanks about the movie.  We have been getting a positive response.  It is in God's hands now, hope He uses it to great effect.  I think it will entertain as well as minister to folks who see it.  It would be great if Hollywood finally gets the message that they can make movies with a positive message and be family friendly and still sell tickets.  It always seems that they just want to out do the previous success.  Success is great, but at what cost?

I have been contemplating York and TCA membership.  Think I will go for it over this next year and try to catch up with y'all then.  Would be nice to meet in person some of the guys from here.  Would also be great to be in the Thick of it regarding this hobby.  Hopefully I will have scenery done by then too.

Well, it is late.  May God Bless each of you this week and a special healing for RT.

Dennis
