Prayers for your Grandma, Dennis.  RT sounded great, just wanted to talk about the locomotives he ordered Smile [:)]  He's at a good hospital, which helps.

Got a little progress made on the basement, on the wall down the side of the stairs.  Builder put in a post at the bottom and it is way out of plumb on one side - so I'll have to shim it before I sheath the end of the wall.  No big deal.

TARDIS is ready to go - gotta get another slice of that pie before SJ eats it all!  Tongue [:P]

Now we gotta get Dennis there!

Long weekend. HS team won their football game Fri night. Took my son and one of his buddies to the lake to wakeboard Sat afternoon. They are getting pretty good. Spent today doing some hobby work and watching TV (NASCAR and Cowboys - how 'bout them Cowboys - eh!)

Prayers for RT!

Finally got hold of my Aunt in Akron Saturday midday and she is doing as well as can be expected. She was in good spirits and is using a walker to get around. That was good news! She is the family matriarch. However - found out my uncle (my aunts' youngest brother) has luekemia. Ugh. No word on that yet.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Morning to All,

Prayers to all that need them, especially RT.  Not too busy this weekend. Spent most of Saturday reclinerizing trying to catch up from the week.   Busy week coming up.  At least two late nights with Back to School Presentations.  The BOY was home for the weekend.  That makes three in a row.  Too much drama and contention.  He is still at the age where the only thing he thinks about is partying and friends. Out all night,  sleep all day.  Makes the Mrs and I nuts. Wishe he would focus his attention on finishing the thesis and getting a JOB.  Dad's National Bank is about to go belly up.  Cannot afford to keep him in the lifestyle to which he aspires.

Have a great day.

RT:  Prayers for you.

Dennis:  Prayers for your Grandmother, and your family.

Brent:  Hope things are well with your family.

Sir James:  Prayers you kicked that bug.

Good day at Church Sunday!  Keyboard player and Singer, used to tour together professionally, really good.  RF interference took out one of the wireless mics, will need to trouble shoot that.  Kids really enjoyed the live band.  Bride has agreed that I should be there every week for awhile to get things organized, and put a team together.

3-1/2yo asked why I was with the rock-and-roll band?  I told her making them sound good is what God wants me to do.  She want's to come and watch.  I was lobbied about playing as they didn't have a bass player, but my place is behind the board.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and clear 52 degrees. Going up to 83 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run and then the dog goes to the Vet for his yearly shot. I know he gained weight again. Vet will not like that.  Speaking of gaining weight..... I have put back 40 pounds that I lost 2 years ago, before my surgery.  That's a good weight to keep.

No train time today. Maybe tomorrow. Need to get busy again with the scenery. Build a mountain with 3 tracks thru it. Two levels.

Dining car is here and it's breakfast time. Cheerios today.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Morning all.  Got luncheon meeting today.  Breakfast cooked [red hots and toast].  Now enjoying coffee until time to go to Town Hall and meeting in Raleigh.  Waiting to hear from guy that is selling Lake House.  He is going to lawyer's ofc to see if we can move up the closing to this Thursday instead of the next Thursday.  Should know by noon.  Hot and humid.  Mow this afternoon as rain coming tomorrow afternoon.  Chat later.

GOOD MORNING

We have bright sun this morn and 70s forecast all week. Thought now would be a good time to  check the furnace, it worked. Sound strange? Not really, its a 92 percenter and has so many shut offs I need to know its working. Opened my OGR  yesterday, thumbed it, and yawned. I hope CTT sticks to classic articles as it was intended, last two issues were great. Enjoy your Monday.S.J.

         rtraincollector,

That ia a awesom engine,  I have the whole set... and for 175 bucks?!?! Wow that is a deal... They usually sell those engines for about 450. bucks! They had a set (Black Diamond) on ebay.. here recently...but he wanted the going price 500.00 bucks...that was the starting bid noone bought it. Anyhow enjoy that engine... Also.... taking the wife shopping...that is a good thing, but you have got to learn a trick of the trade though..  take her to a train store say you just want to look and while u are looking she will shop round and want to buy something. For instance I get those train catalogs from lionel at the hobby store and my wife looks at them. The other day she was looking at the Volume 2 Catalog of Kline by Lionel and found the Empire State Express...She called me into the room and said she wants that engine and tender and all the cars that go with it. That will be my second TMCC fully functional engine That I have. The first one is The Black Diamond (Norfolk Southern).

Morning all.  Prayers for RT's rapid recovery and for the others with illness in their families. Glad Fife and Sir James are feeling better.

Got an unexpected and thoughtful gift in the mail on Saturday: a loaf of homemade zucchini bread from jefelectric and his bride! Now I know what everyone was raving about... it is delicious. Doesn't taste like vegetables at all. Wink [;)]

Hope today goes well for everyone. Hope I can go to York someday. Looks like fun.

FIFE,

I don't know about the ENOLA YARDS?  I will be at YORK with the wife and afterwards she wants to do somethings in HARRISBURG and go out to eat.  If she doesn't go for some odd reason then I'm in for railfanning.  But this is the one time o year she loves to go to YORK, so she can buy my Christmas presents.

As far as the pic goes for YORK, as I said before I will be there only on Saturday.  A big maybe for late, after 4 on friday?

Good Morning Peeps...

The other day something strange happend In Burlington, Nc that hasnt happend for a long time. The smell the diesel smoke was lingering in the air as the sun came up. The roar of Diesel engines were heard from off in the distance! I heard people shouting weird things.. back and forth to each other... (Are we all ready back there brake man....   ok big E we are all buttoned up back here we are ready to roll... Ok dispatch do we have a clear outbound track...  Engineer please wait for my signal... Engineer you are clear to roll....) The roar of diesel engines got louder as they progressed closer. Then I could feel a slight rumble in the ground through my shoes... then I saw it...  Two Burlington Northern GP38 Diesel Locomotives (numbered in succession 7514 and 7515) pulling a string of cars...along with a extended side vision caboose (Burlington Northern)...came roaring by (Woo Woo) blowing their tremendous air horns. As they continued on their way...to where I dont know.. I couldnt help but wonder how strange it was to see Two Burlington Northern GP38 Diesel Engines, since they had the merger with Santa Fe. Also to be pulling a caboose, I thought that was a lost Art??

I set up a temporary layout on the floor in my building, I couldnt stand it no longer, I had to get my dose of diesel smoke in the air...  rtraincollector sorta gave me the idea when he was talking about his temporary layout... so now I can get my dailiy dose of diesel engine smoke once again. Sorta like a Starbucks Frapp...  actully, no this is a better fix...

Everyone enjoy the rest fo the day....

Good Morning dudes and dudettes!

RT - Angel [angel]

Dennis for your Grandmom - Angel [angel]

Up to 90 today, looks like we've dodge another bullitt for the moment, however, I won't believe it until Saturday.  Sun is out and a slight breeze.

Didn't get the bike out yesteday, had to move the contents of the storage shed out of storage, saving me the $85/month to go to the bike instead.  Moved a lot of stuff and immediately put it all on Moparts.com, which is a Mopar web board/trade & sell site.  Spent most of the day doing that and rearranging the garage to fit most of this stuff.

Did get out Saturday night and went to get a lottery ticket (yup I hit it!!! a whopping $4.50).

Other than that, not much.  Mom got out of NC yesterday morning and then made it back to NJ about 8:30 last night.  Glad there wasn't more damage to my northern bretheren. (and most of youze giz are NORTH of me....Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]).

Hey Dennis, make a deal with ya...you go in April, I'll really consider joining TCA and meeting up with ya.Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Talk at ya later!!

Godd mornin', ya'll,

Hannah's remnants hit us Saturday afternoon.  Got about 5 inches of rain with the highest winds of 55 mph in my town 3 AM yesterday, clear and sunny by 7 AM!  Glad everyone was relatively unscathed.  I have been struggling trying to keep up with the Pot posts, seems like I'm 5 pages behind every time I blink.  Ike heading for Texas?

Had family over Saturday evening despite the bad weather and enjoyed a great fish picata my daughter made with fresh catch right off the docks in New Bedford MA.  Olive oil all over the place, making cleanup as time consuming as the meal prep.  I am not a fan of either mushrooms or artichoke hearts, but my daughter always comes up with some recipe that keeps me eating and liking the stuff.  The fish and rice ingredients were stellar, better than grits with red eye gravy. Dinner [dinner]  Dessert was sinful, pastries she gets at small bakeries no one has ever heard of.

Patriots season in jeopardy with Brady's injury.  Now we get to see if the other 53 can step up and overcome this challenge.  Red Sox closing on Tampa Bay with a 3 game series beginning tonight at Fenway, 2 behind in the loss collumn.  Injuries!  But many are back (Lowell, Matsusaka, and Beckett) or are close to it (Colon, Drew, Youkolis). Thumbs Up [tup]  5'7" second baseman Dustin Pedroia is lighting em up.  AL MVP?

Had to laugh at Mitch's dilemma with son.  Banged Head [banghead]  Join the club, especially with the Bank of Dad issue.  For you guys with younger ones, daughters and sons, they never seem to leave home totally independent and self sufficient.  Always come up with some new disaster to contend with.  Some serious and others easily fixable but many the result of sheer stupidity and poor planning.  I may be wrong on this, but in my case I am beginning to look in the mirror as the cause of this lack of financial independence and self sufficiency. Sigh [sigh]

RT.....I am praying for your speedy and total recovery.  This has been quite a whirlwind year for you with both downs and then ups.  This too shall pass.  Too many work hours?  You didn't seem to take a break all year. Angel [angel]

Everyone seems to be or has been sick lately.  Never found out how Chief bounced back so well.  Fifey and wifey under the weather, as was Dennis, Sir James, Brutus' son, Don's Chris.  My prayers everyone gets back on track health wise.

Dennis.....hope you got some great video and pics of the 4 year old B-Day party.  If I had known you were serving pizza, I would have pro bono served as your videographer.  Pizza is one of my food weaknesses.  Prayers for your Grandmother.  Bet she has had an interesting 96 years....automobiles were hardly a commercial product when she was young, nor were airplanes.  Think of it....she was 57 when we put a man on the moon.  Wow! Wow!! [wow]

Rich.....you need to get one of those vintage bicycle baskets and manual bell ringers (cha ching) to mount on the handlebars of your Harley to move stuff back and forth from the train shop.  Bet no one has those "options" mounted on their Harley! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Chief.....glad to hear all is moving along nicely with the Lake property.  My water skis, Off, and Pepto Bismol are packed and ready.  Just don't know if my car can handle Southern back roads.  Can't wait to see a pic of you posted on SPF with your Moses Staff in hand......or do you look more like Buford Pusser in Walking Tall, or The Rock in one of the sequels? Whistling [:-^]

Roy....prayers for both your Aunt and your Uncle.  Many of us are in this boat, aging grandparents, parents, and relatives with health issues up front and center.

Brent.....hang in there buddy.  How's the Beemer gas mileage these days of the extended commute?

DougM.....Cubbies are starting to give me ulcers like in 1969 when they folded like a deck of cards.  The White Sox are hanging in there.  And the Bears came through yesterday.  Great time to be a Chicago sports fan.  You and I may have some interesting matchups to discuss in the coming weeks.

Got to run,

Jack

RT, glad to hear that you are home.

Busy day here today.  Got new generator wired, gas to be connected on Thursday, then get startup by distributor.

Put the last coat of Urathane on some train shelves I am building.  Have to finish first and then assemble in place as I can't build them and then get them in the basement.

Guess well have to take a picture each day and have Brent blend them together, what say Brent?

No comment from the chief on the house warming party?

Hey Peeps..

Just wanted to chime in again, had some more train time today... thats always enjoyable. Its off to work again tonight. First night back from the weekend..(work nights). Getting ready for the train show in Raleigh this weekend...(Saturday and Sunday) at the fair grounds. Will be my first time ever going to a train show.  Tommorow someone is supposed come and look at the floors in my building they built. Soft spots and where the boards meet up with each other at the joist.. they seem to be bowing up..(The ends of the boards) if you step on them...you feel like you are teeter-tottering. I have only had the building a  little over a year...and if its doing that now what will it be in 5 years?

RT- May God be with you in Augusta...Our prayers are with you.

Cheif are you going to go to the train show in Raleigh this weekend?

Hey RT - glad you got home okay and sorry to hear about the test and the windshield.  Hope everything turns out okay - thanks for the phone call!  Well, I found out the balance on one of our credit cards and the planned trip to Disney is not exactly compatable with that, so we will be enjoying some train and Christmas ornament restrictions Sigh [sigh]  Don't know why we want to go again next year anyway, we were just there back in February.  It's a big planned family get together though - at least so far.  I had some preordered stuff, but aside from that I guess it's just going to be odds and ends now and then until some time next year.

Buckeye:  Thanks for watching my back...Bride sent it to me...and I only checked the .gov site...

Brutus:  I'm in....Will that thing get Monday night football????  2-games tonight!  I'm with you on the restrictions.

Opened up GG-1 seems like more of a fixer, than I thought...No light bases, disconnected horn, and bent relay connector, at least the horn, and relay are there.  It's clean on the inside now...all cleaned and re-lubed, now on to the electrical.
