SO, Has anyone bought any cool trains lately? Speaking of slinging mud, I am almost finished with wiring up my switches and hope to be working on scenery soon. For some reason, a line from "Stripes" comes to mind....."Lighten up Francis". Anyway, hope the peace returns soon.
God Bless,

Evening all. Busy day. Town Hall till 12:30, rush into town for County Commissioner's meeting, rush home for dinner and hear shot after dark at deer lease as I am getting in truck to go feed them. Rush to lease, unlock cable and hear voices hollering about me being there. Gets all quite at the double wide at the top of the hill [where the hoodlums live]. Even there hateful dog is quite. All but two are in prison [girls and boys]. I bail out with S/W in one hand and maglite in other. Can't find anything. Rush to Town Hall for Board meeting. Popcorn time. I'm hungry. Got early elected officials brakfast and then meeting and lunch with Legislature member. Then TRAINS!!!

Howdy folks, wet and warm in St. Louis with serious storms just North of us right now. Can't get on email right now, but Sir James just go ahead and email any time. I'll get to them in a few minutes I hope. Had to uninstall trial version of office from this computer and then install our licensed copy (2003 - oh well, still works great). Got a new "cheap" laptop. It has VISTA, which I am trying to get used to. Also, wife called around and found some great rates on airplane so wife and kids will come down to Florida while I'm in training and on the weekend we will all spend 2 full days at Disney. Anything new there Doug M? I know you were just there a month ago.
Gotta go for a little while so TTFN - computer updated....
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Well it's off to LA tomorrow. We're supposed to do the Golden Globes for E! but now I don't know what is going to happen.
Got some train running in today, enjoyed the 65 degree weather and basically did nothing. I'll let you all know how tommorrow comes out. If we go. I gotta beleive if we do a show it will be a really slimed down version. No red carpet, no stars, no parties. Not much to cover. Unless we cover the empty red carpet for 10 hours.

UhOh, better take all sharp objects away from the Buckeye fans. Two years in a row! Go for a "Hat-trick" next year.
My train budget is taking a big hit this week, washer took a dive and the repair would not be cost effective. So of course this means a new washer and the 20+ year old dryer is to be replaced as well. It won't match new washer, to me this is irrelevent, oh well you know the old say: If momma happy, everybody happy.

Well I notice no posts from Buckeye. I assume he is in mourning (or hiding?) after the shellacing the Buckeyes took from LSU.
There is a bit of a bright spot. This means less toy trains for Ohizo and more for the South since Ohizzo's economy will be going into the dumper for 2008.
My sincere sympathies for the Ohio crew.

OSU fans,
Sorry that the game didn't go your way. The team is young and will be even better next year.
That said, I have a few questions. A member posted a note containing the following. Note that I have edited it a bit, not to change the meaning in any way, but in order not to repeat the more inflamatory portions. This required re-ordering certain portions for clarity:
"Buckeye, They better be careful or they are going to start losing Scholarships...OSU's grad[uation] rate for football was [deleted] ... well below the NCAA's requirement... "
1. Where did the member get his number?
2. Is his number accurate?
3. Is anyone going to question it?
4. Whether accurate or not, what benefit has OSU received fom its being published in a public forum?
We all realize that the post was part of the member's ongoing obsession with a certain Big Ten school that he doesn't like. By giving him a "free pass," the rest of you become accessories. Is that what you want? That's as clear as I can make it.

Roy...I'm just glad we didn't play USC. The sun is coming up in the east this morning over Buckeyeland and it is a very warm 56 degrees. Yes, the big moan you heard was from Buckeyeland's faithful fans. With a metropolitan population of nearly one million, the Buckeye football team is an obsession with the majority. In the summer they follow the Reds and in the fall the Browns, but they follow Buckeye Football all year around.

I hear ya Doug. Our dryer took a powder last week and then my Subaru died on the way to work yesterday. Over heated even though there was plenty of coolant, so I am not sure what the issue is. Probably not good (or cheap). It never rains but it pours.

Tried to log on yesterday AM and forum was down. Busy day at work did not get home until 7:00 PM. Feel asleep in chair during football game. We have started interviewing for the new school. We will have about 30 positions and I have well over 100 people who have applied to transfer. We are trying to interview after school hours and it will be making for some long nights. Have to have a roster put together by mid-March. Time flies when you are having fun.
Have a great day.

Early morning news says no Golden Globes. So stay at home and play with trains.

Mitch: Sounds like a thermostat or water pump. Easy? Not sure, but the thermostat part should be cheap. I'd try that first.

' mornin' from Jax, where (thankfully) College Football season is OVER, and if the Jags can managed to get beaten in Boston, I may be able to hear more NEWS than LOCAL SPORTS!
A big sorry 'bout that to my friends in the Buckeye Nation...just like the Mets (whom I dislike) there is always the fabled next year..
Big Blue still hanging in there, as well as my beloved Devils..Leading the pack in the Atlantic (again). No more Yankees/steroid stories (no Roger is not REALLY a Yankee, just a hired hand to off the Red Sox. Yup, it was that obvious.
Up to 74 today, a little fog a little rain and I hear it record temps back home in the North East! Could youse giz keep it up there until I get back? 'preciate that....
Went to bed early so nothin' happening on the train front (ok, bumped my post count and got some train stuff in..ok, I'm good)
Hey Brent, I took no offense on the Rutgers (obvious) thing. Hope we're still friends....
And Mitch, glad you're better, let's pray you have no head gasket problems...
OK, COFFEE TIME...

Yes the Buckeyes went down.

The Garage project continues. Roofing Metal that was to be last Thursday will be in this Thursday; great after I start back to work. Went to get garage door, got it home and took inventory of parts only to find it had been pillaged of parts, crazy the box was still strapped! Another trip another door, hopefully get it installed today before the rains start.
Doug – maybe a 99 cent can of spray paint to make them match? Just kidding. No I know what you mean. In our 29 years of marriage, we’ve gone through 3 washers and have the original dryer. Wife said if anyone is in the utility room looking at the washer and dryer, I hope they are doing laundry.
Going to go. Be nice
May God bless
Jim
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear 56 degrees. Going up to 71 today ( ? ) , with some rain later. This weather is strange, but nice.
Well, it looks like Buckeye will be in mourning for awhile.
Had a real surprise this morning. Looked out the front window and the front yard was full of black Angus steers. About a dozen or so. The farm north of us has a big herd. They went thru the woods and broke thru the tree line fence. Called the owners and left a message. After a few minutes, a pickup came down the road and herded them towards home. Big steers.
Today, I am busy around here. Have some things to do. Not planning to go anywhere. It will be a quiet day, except for the beginning. Maybe I should have had a steer roast. LOL
Dining car is here and waitress is looking for the steers. She'll be back and then, breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
Good morning all,
It is still warm but cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s for now. Condolences to the Buckeye fans and congrats to any Tiger people out there. It would have been a good night to run trains, but all I did was weights at the YMCA and trying to sleep. Not much else going on. It was the usual fare on the dining car this morning. At least traffic has been light on the way into work. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

GOOD MORNING ALL,
They lost, oh well, I got to go to bed earlier than I expected.. Couldn't stand the suffering(mine). The storm missed us, we have had rain most of the nite and now.In the 50s today and then down it goes. A good train day. Later,,,,,,,,,Sir James
That was a rough one...not as bad as last year though. We just couldn't keep that level of play up for 4 quarters. At least we started out very strong. Still a very good season, and the first time OSU has ever been to two back to back Championship games. Go Bucks!
Wes
Good Morning. Sorry to all the Buckeyes out there....While not a LSU fan, I do like it when a SEC team does well. Interesting morning and now I find myself with a light schedule for most of the day. Funny how things can turn around so quickly. May everyone have a blessed day,
