Evening all.  Just returned from a house warming which is owned by a wonderful young Southern Lady.  Her Mom from Texas [born and bred in LA  not he crummy city but the great SOUTHERN state] cooked gumbo and some crawfish.  FULL!!!!!!!!!  Plenty of sweet ice tea and potato salad to chase it with.  Dinner [dinner]

Now off to feed the girls [deer].  I'm sure they are waiting.

Fifey, the Peek is enjoying first dog status in doggie heaven.

Burg the Lab is enjoying the first dog status as only child now.

Later.

Buckeye,

"Sparky, I've heard of Mizell Trains where are they located?"

They are in Westminster, a suburb to the north of Denver. http://www.mizelltrains.com/

This mornings newspaper had a short article written by a sports reporter for LSU.  He couldn't believe seeing the huge icicles that hang on the rocks in the road cuts.  He also was amazed that the only clothing we wear are Scarlet and Grey.  Do they make clothing in other colors?  He also said that everyone scowled at him when he wore his hat with the letters LSU promptly displayed.  (He should be glad he wasn't wearing a hat with an M.)Dead [xx(]

Good evening all,

It was cloudy and rainy in SE Indiana today.  My dad and I went to the Great Train Expo in Indy today.  Most of the space was taken up by layouts (which were nice to see), and there were very few vendors and very few carried Lionel.  It looks like more and more of my acquisitions will have to come from eBay or TCA meets.  We also went to the home of the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" as I had to exchange some items acquired at Christmas.  While we were there, we spent some time at the museum as well.  There are some truly interesting displays there.

Northwoods Flyer, love the Wide Gauge sets in your picture.  I have seen a MoPac set and I think it is one of the best looking Flyer sets.

There was a little extra on the dining car for breakfast this morning and lunch was enjoyed at Steak'n'Shake.

DonB, congrats on joining OTTS!  Make sure you take your responsibilities seriously:-)

Lisa-in-NC, good to hear from you again.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Finally got to the coffee pot, son was working on science project for school on laptop.  Nice pick Northwood Flyer!  Love those old trains!  Vintage stuff!  Don and Dougsnotagrump, glad you are not underwater!  Where is Mitch?  Hi RT, see you were posting here, wondered if all was well?  Mike, Steak N Shake is great!  I love those fries too.  CSX, hope you are okay?  Take it easy and keep in touch!  Roy, homemade cinnamon rolls are the best - with that white icing, yummy!  I ditto Fifey, Nick - nice benchwork and love that sliding shelf idea.  Howdy, Lisa, Mel, Sparky and of course Doug and Sir James, my icecream buddies.  Doug, another thought on the derailing - are your couplers too tight for O27?  I had that with one of my docksiders, the coupler would literally push the car and/or loco off the track in tight curves.  Sir James, glad you got your trains running - lots of good info!  Buckeye, I think UPS delivers on Saturday don't they?  I know they did last month, maybe just a seasonal thing?  Good luck with the project guys (Chief, better watch your back man!)  Hope I didn't miss anyone, but I read all the posts and really enjoy keeping up with you all.

Wet and cool in St. Louis and sinus is killing me.  Worked 6 hours OT today.  Son's team did pretty good today, but still lost 28 to 10.  I hope that's the only game I miss.  We have some more OT this month, but not on the same days or times of games.

Going to the mall tomorrow with family as my wife wants to spend some $$$, she just got a nice little raise at work.  I hope to pick up the Railroad Tycoon boardgame.  It sounds really cool and the reviews I found online sound good.  If I get it, I'll post some pics and info.

Oh, I almost forgot, I got a Joke Calendar for Christmas.  Today's joke - Not from a dictionary:  Definition of "Withdrawal" = How a Southerner talks!  LOL

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening everyone.  Went to see "Charlie Wilson's War" last night.  Pretty good film based on a true story.  Tom Hanks did a good job IMO.  Today I watched both debates while checking on football scores every now and then.  Not a repub or dem...still not sure which way to go.  Dem debate all about change (edwards and obama) vs. experience (clinton and richardson).  McCain and Romney were entertaining to watch bash eachother.  Got nastier than the football game the next channel over at times Black Eye [B)]

Thanks buckeye.  Ill definately take you up on that LHS tour.

Question for all ohioans - Who the hell is this Bob Evans guy? Laugh [(-D]  I swear there was a sign every rest stop on 80 and 71.  Good Food?

Funny hearing about that LSU reporter.  What do you expect when you go into ohio with enemy colors on?  Reminds me of the time I went to spain a few years ago.  I brought one bathing suit on the trip to wear.  AMERICAN FLAG SWIMSHORTS!!!  Didnt realize that wasn't the best idea until I put it on... got myself a nice plain blue pair instead.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Wet and 37 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Took the family to the CHIPMUNKS movie last night...and it was pretty darn cute.  The CGI was outstanding and seamless.  Then we went to CHEEBURGER CHEEBURGER, nice time but pricey.  Today, change oil in car, more laundry, "plant" trees on layout.

Chief - I can't remember you posting about it, but it is a good seat PEEK's in...

BDT - Best regards with the boy; take care of yourself as well.

Morning to all

Sign - Welcome <img src=" border="0" /> Northwoods Flyer !!

I have been negligent about reading the forum and posting.  Been really busy at work and worn out from this stupd cold.  Still coughing and hacking.  Might have to break down and call the Dr.  Got up yesterday AM, fell asleeup in chair after breakfast. Went back to bed and slept until noon.  Went out shopping with the Mrs. for a few hours, had dinner when we got home and then I fell asleep during the debates last night which is not normal behavior for me.

It should be a fun run up to Super Tuesday, hope it makes these long winter months go faster. I am grateful to the citizens of Iowa who stood up last night and said "enough is enough" in both parties.  Change is needed, I pray that it will happen.

Jon - I too will be interested to see how Huckabee makes out after Iowa.  He is a great public speaker.  Change is definitely needed.  So many things need to be fixed and there is gridlock in DC.

Oh my what a glorious victory for WVU. My son is a 2007 WVU grad.  I thought it was great that they hired Bill Stewart for head coach too.  You could really tell that the players love him.  The whole coaching staff did a great job preparing the team.  Let's hope some of the potential recruits saw the game and the emotion and will stay committed to WVU. Rich Rod bailing on WVU and going to the Big M, just gives me one more reason to despise the Wolverines.

It's a new year, mitchie, and a doggy-daddy's gotta do, what a doggy-daddy's gotta do.  Like yesterday morning for instance... Oldest princess left another obscene pile of towels in the basement unfolded, which were dumped on her while she slumbered.  She's still not talking to me.

Good morning from the N.C. mountains.

I do believe Spring might be here, it has warmed up to 34F and I see the sun shining on the top of Beech Mountain across the valley. Snow should be melted in a couple of days. [Ski Resort owners are praying for cold, cloudy days, skiers from deep South are plentiful and the local Orthopedic Surgeon is working two shifts].

The last snow was a very fine and dry type. So after watching the wind blow it all over the place I followed nature's practice and used the leaf blower to clear the front walk, patio and car. My wife wanted to have me committed!

Searching the vendors such as Mullet River Model Works for a source of kits or assembled units of cars built from 1917 to 1927 of Southern Railway steam era Cabooses in O scale. Units that survived until the late 1960s. Tongue & groove woodside, four-window, center mounted, braced cupola [not extended], 10 window sash in the cupola---2 each side, 3 front and rear. Many available in HO including brass and plastic, but over the years have found nary O scale Southern Ry in the configuration noted above. Many southeastern roads and the NYC as well as others ran the same style caboose.

Nothing to run here except Thomas and Percy round and round the little oval that circled the tree. Almost railroading!

Great to hear from Lisa who is in Madison-Mayodan, N.C. working on improving the population of her Madison type passenger cars.

Good morning - prayers for your son, BDT and Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Mitch, go to the doctor!  I had pneumonia once and this sounds pretty much like what I had except I would have like cold sweats too.  Mom came over to check on me and took me to hospital - probably saved my life.

Nick, I love air hockey and I'm not too bad at it.  Last time I played though was with a BiL who doesn't like to lose and he literally skinned my hand from hitting too hard and going over the puck and into my hand more than a few times.  I hung in there long enough to beat him and then I have refused to ever play with him again, thusly demonstrating my superior maturity and really making him suffer at the same time, now and forever!  I'm sure he loses sleep about this as he is unable to change the record!  I always tell him we'll play in a little while, but never get around to it Mischief [:-,]

Wish I had some ham, biscuits, bacon, waffles, grits or other good food.  Our cupboard is getting bare so I was stuck with a poptart.

Good luck at the train show, Sir James.  John Baker, you need to make shortcuts on your desktop so you don't lose the really important links Smile [:)]

Dewey, sounds like a billiant solution to that dry snow!

Grits at Waffle House are not good - that butter stuff ruins them.  But they have good waffles and also really great hash browns Dinner [dinner]

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
