Good morning everyone,

It was a nice weekend here. My parents went out to dinner last night and I had a few people up. We finished watching the Bourne Ultimatium, ate Pizza Bagels, and played XBOX360. All in all it was a good night.

Update on my leg: I can finally walk on it without crutches!!!! I only need the brace in school so I don't hit it into anything. I went to therapy and my therapist told me to use one crutch under my left arm, and I swing the crutch and my injured leg at the same time. (This is so I don't lean to one side.) I need the brace for 4 weeks, and then I will be off of it.

Morning. It's warm here - all the snow melted. I'm tired. I was video-director for church services - a long day so far. The bride's drama sketch went well though. Had a most enjoyable time running trains last eve with train buddy Rudy. Gave Percy a very heavy train and he didn't derail. I think Doug is right: that there is something wrong with the track - but jeez, three out of four corners... I'm going to check the couplers too as Brutus suggested. I think Percy is OK but not his trailing car. I had one bad-ordered car with MPC-era trucks to set out.

Question for all ohioans - Who the hell is this Bob Evans guy?   I swear there was a sign every rest stop on 80 and 71.  Good Food?

Bob owned a farm in SE Ohio and he started a small roadside diner that served saugage sandwiches from the pigs that he raised. The food was so good he expanded.  End of story. 

Good news for today;  the weather is mild, and my youngest boy  got released from the hospital this afternoon, after an 11 day stay;  and that being the third hospitalization within the last month.

Tonite I have the peace of mind knowing that he is on the road to recovery... I stopped by the Hobby Hut in Moorhead, Mn on the way home from the hospital, and picked up the current CLASSIC TOY TRAINS issue,,, so  tonite I get to fall to sleep in my own home, reading a great mag......

Hey Bob N, how do you hook up the TVS units? I have about 15 but don't want to waste one by hooking it up backwards if possible.  Just for your info, I blew out a capacitor one time because I shorted out a circuit by accident, yes a small capacitor will sound like a tiny firecracker going off, luckily it was not a train related item that this happened to.

Just found this Forum again!

 John B, Air Hockey has a table that has lots of tiny holes in the surface. A fan blows the air through the holes that lifts the "puck" ( a flat plastic disc). Each player has a paddle and uses it to try and knock the puck into the others goal. Due to the lack of friction the puck flys around the table when hit.

Brutus, Your BIL ought to play my lad (age 9) he plays rough! I predict the first air hockey cage match.

Posted some pics of the gamesroom in photo fun. Put up my collection of Lionel tack today including the 100th anniversary clock, I've not put the batteries in for the sounds yet.

Well as expected I brought nothing home, My friend bought a new williams DT&I GP something for $149.00. A fair price I think. The show was in a neighborhood school with very little parking,lots of people and a two block walk on flooded sidewalks from the snow melt.Tried walking on the grass that was wetter which explains the flooded sidewalk. Reg. gas today was $3.07-09,I got ethonol for$2.77.Jimtrumpie-good tip on the flyer smoke fluid, thanks.  Sir James

Kurt- yes I think it was a GP38, I just didn't want to be wrong. I almost bought one too, probably will be sorry later although he may still have one next week at the little TTOS show. And just maybe. Got to keep an eye on Grayson he's starting to print on a half page just like the Cheif. I tell you they are up to something. The only thing I eat at the Waffle house is peacon waffles, never had anything else there.

Still warm.  Fed deer and they came out before dark with me at the truck standing and watching.  More cleaning upstairs.  Things looking good.  Glad I bought those storage cabinets.  Fits right under layout and drawers are big and deep.  Later.

Well its either a Flying Yankee or a Burlington Zepher It is more than likely made by MTH as the Areostream is a MTH product.

Thank you! Yes, it is MTH, as the picture is from their website. Someone else was asking where they could get the Aerotrain, so I looked on the MTH site to see that, and saw the other train in the same picture, but it was unidentified. I've seen photos of it on other layouts, and was always intrigued by it. Now I know what to "search" for. Thanks a million! And thanks for the welcome!

It was warm and rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s today.  We took down all the Christmas decorations today.  I finished the Monon book late last night.  I watched San Diego finally win a playoff game.  I had a little extra on the dining car this morning for breakfast.  I hope everyone has a good day.

It has been a much warmer day here in Wisconsin, but overcast and very thick fog.  The temp got up to around 40 today and it looks like it may stay warm for a while.

 I have been playing with my digital camera today.  I can't believe the amount of time I can eat up trying to learn how to use new technologies.  I still can't get a picture to post in my signature, but here is the picture I want to post there eventually.  I will keep trying.

I'll post more pictures of the O and Wide Gauge collection as I find the time.

I am a transplanted Yankee of 40 years and have developed a tolerance for grits. The best I ever had were on the grill car on the Nancy Hanks II going from Savannah to Atlanta, GA on the Central of Georgia in 1970. Before Amtrak, SCL trains used to offer grits in their dining cars for breakfast. There is a prototype for almost everything!!! as I keep discovering.

Best Grits I have had were made by my bride, slow cooked and served with a full breakfast of Biscuits and Sausage Gravy.  I am not just saying that cause she would been me on the head with a cast iron pan. 

Was a good day at church.  Was on camera for both services, so back aches a bit.  The official edit starts on the movie tomorrow.  I will probably help with hospital and fire scenes, but the director is quite capable.  I don't want to see too much till it is on the big screen.  They told us we would never look at a movie the same way and were correct.  Pick out how they do different scenes and stuff.

Anyway, hope everyone has a blessed week.  Early morning so I am off to bed.

It would be nice if Amtrak varied the menu to match the local you are traveling through, instead of the one size fits all that they now use.  I will say the food on the Empire builder is the best of the lot that I have experienced.  And yes grits when traveling through the South would be nice.  As would eggs with salsa in the SW and scrapple in PA & NJ.  Maybe baked beans in New England.  Any other breakfast suggestions?

  Well just got back from MOMs.  And NO DEER, but came real close.  BROTHER pushed swamp out behind UNCLE PAULs house I was about quarter mile away waiting.  Great day with about 3-4 inches of snow on ground.  Melting but not crunchy.  He started came upon 3 deer beds by that time I see them running full force at me all doe.  Raise the gun pull back the hammer and wait for them to come within shooting distance.  They are getting closer, I raise the gun, wait for them to get along side of me, they are still running fullforce.  Picked out the first one, she is 35 yards, (I paced it) away and swing with her, pull the trigger and click.  DA!  Pull back again and by that time deer are gone about 75 yrds away and still running.  Brother came up and we had a good laugh.  Still can't figure out how we beat the BRITs with these things?  My turn was next to push for bro,  Made big push for him and nothing.  Sat for an hour to calm things down and just maybe see some mouching around, no luck.  Went opposite side of Uncles and did another push for bro, this time he saw 6 but to far away.  Oh well we did have fun in woods today and left with a BAG FULL O MEMORIES.  It was fun.

  DOUG M., we just use a glove to put over the lock to protect it from the elements.  I had made up some chrom tanned leather protectors but takes to long to get them off.  And when it just to bad out we stay in.

  No trains today maybe tomorrow?

Well, you giz finally started me moving into the 20th century, I've ordered my Powermaster, Cable and CAB-I for my conventional layout.  Just need to get some TMCC stuff.....

De-Christmas-ized the interior of the abode, geeez, didn't think I had that much trackage...and now nowhere to put my Polar Express or the trolley (no Doug, you can't borrow it..) I'm thinking that another new layout plan is in order (no...not again!) and more switches.

Warm today about 65 or so, don't really know, was inside most of the day with the tree and HOW 'BOUT DEM GIANTS!!!!! (whoze team is jag-wires? some local AA team?)

And Grayson...nobody likes a brown noser... You're only like 2.5 hours from me...(just kidding!)

Waffle House and Bob Evans is good, but the Jersey Diners are the BEST!!! Italians and Greeks cooking together...PostWarMan can I get a AMEN!!!

Full of mexican food   Went to the game store and wife picked up a bunch of stuff, so I just bought a small card game.  Still thinking about that Railroad Tycoon board game - it sure looks cool.  They also had one called Empire Builder where you draw your routes on the board with a crayon (it's erasable)....  Maybe next time we're up that way. 

Maybe next year, Laz - sounds like a great time though.
