I'll be right over. We've been in the $3.30 range for the past month or better.

MC - a Runza and Bean soup!
She who has no signature! cinscocom-tmw
No need to worry, Mudchicken: we won't be putting you in the soup pot!! Not today, or any other day! You're too nice a guy. And, as Mutt said, there's always apple cider around, ready to be heated up for you and anyone else who wants some!
Early predictions on the snow(?) for Saturday here: our area may receive 1 to 4 inches (so we'll probably get only a dusting to maybe about a half inch.)

Denver's new residents from CA and TX learning the hard way that 4WD is not an excuse for driving as usual. The vehicle carnage out there on the roads is on an upswing. Think Copcar and I will avoid the roads for a while until the insanity stops. LC seems to be missing in action.

There's always Cider around here. (unfermented!)
Beano and Gas-Ex are available on the counter.

Mook, in lieu of chains for Christmas, would you like a set of cleats?

Posted below is the menu for today:
Soups: Chicken Noodle, Tomato Bisque, and Ham & Bean
Sandwiches: grilled cheese w/bacon, PB&J, tuna salad, turkey and roast beef
With the rain we're still getting, that menu sounds really, really good for today.
....About 40 degrees here as we write. A bit wet, not raining much but must have put some down overnight. All snow is gone.
I too note of snow coming to Pennsylvania and NY and on up thru New England. By Saturday a system just now starting out in the southwest is forming, and we will reap some "benefits" from that. Note the Low will pass south of us and that's not good. The most snowfall occurs north of the Low system. No figures posted on how much we'll get yet. Expect several inches. Guess, it' time to put my several waterproof sand bags in the back of the truck bed. Winter tires are already on. A truck with wide tires is not the best situation for winter snow. One can picture narrow tired Model-T's sloshing thru thick mud decades ago and see what works better.
Roads are dry, not a cloud in the sky last night (all those stars!), but it's cold. Thirteen at this moment.
Gonna be a cold, windy last weekend of Polar Express. Long johns are definitely part of the wardrobe this weekend. At least we have snow this year. Adds a lot to the general atmosphere of the event.
Ck noo soup sounds good for lunch (along with a couple PBJ on rye sandwiches to dunk).
Today's my Friday. Probably ought to get some work done.
good morning
cw thanks for supper last night.roads are wet but the front and back porches are tricky.guess we got lucky again.they were talking snow for pennsylvania and new york in the foot category(?) last night on the weather.its finally friday been busy loading trucks trucks and more trucks.Friday night we are going to hear some christmas music and relax.all but 1 were my former band directors.be careful out there.
Coffee any time, please. Thanx CW
Tree - nose runs, feet smell?
It was "Whee!" getting out the back door this morning. But glad we have power and not a lot of snow to deal with.
Lunch - let's see. Grilled cheeze with bacon sandwich? Reuben? Chix salad with grapes and English walnuts? Ck noo soup? Tomato bisque? Ham N Bean?
Ok - I have placed my order. The rest of you are on your own.
Good Thursday morning, everyone! Not sure about the current outdoor temp, but it is raining again! "Supposed" to clear out sometime later today (we can only hope). I have heard that somewhere in our area, it has rained now, for eight straight days.
Coffee, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready, and oj and oj/tangerine juice are also freshly made this morning. Mookie, got my "Gopher" grab it tool, and got your coffee mug down for you. I'm ready to pour, whenever you're ready for coffee.
On the warmer bar: The thick buttermilk pancakes (Tom's request) sausage links and patties, scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, oatmeal (several different flavors, including peaches & cream), turkey bacon, and in the cooler, pineapple slices.
Going to take requests for lunch/dinner today, so let me know early what you'd like to have.
Tom

Not on good terms with the ol' shnoz?
Dan, congrats on the recert!
Got more pepper steak over rice and mixed veggies on the warmer bar, for supper tonight.
Joe, got your lunch ready for work tonight, along with a slice of cherry pie for dessert.
Hope you all have a good evening, enjoy your supper, and stay warm!
You try to catch it of course!!!!
Randy, Happy Birthday!!
Dan, Congrats on the recert.
Just wash the muffler out each day. It'll catch that!
Randy! Many happy returns.
I got re-certified to certify ( stay with me here!) new lifeguards today. I was a bit disappointed that one of the requirements for passing the course was dropped for a rather disheartening reason. Instead of having to swim 500 yards (20 lengths of a 25 yard or 'average' pool) in under 10 minutes, now you can take 'as long as is needed' to swim 300 yards (12 lengths). The change was made, apparently, because candidates complained that the test was 'too hard' and 'Why do we have to swim that far anyway?' In 12 years of rescuing swimmers I can say that you need to be in good shape to do it! Regardless of how big the pool is.
Especially if you have to rescue someone of my build: I'm 5'10" and 270 lbs, but it's a solid 270 lbs. Here's a hint at what I can do with my legs. Currently (as of yesterday) I can do 90 lbs more than what's pictured or 1125 lbs for 3 repetitions. My bench is around 350 lbs right now on its way to my goal which is 405 lbs.
Anyway...I think I'll grab something warm to go and sit by the tracks for a while. Any train I see that I don't like I'll tackle!
CW - saw a knitted one one time - guess if you wear glasses, they steam up your lenses so you can't see to walk. And - what if your nose runs?
Mookie, I don't knit, but I do crochet. Maybe I can crochet you a nose muffler; or, I can call a certain friend in AZ., who does all kinds of knitting and crocheting! Maybe she already has a pattern!!
In honor of Randy Voss' birthday, for lunch and dinner we have: pepper steak over rice, mashed taters, and mixed veggies. I know he doesn't prefer birthday cake of any flavor, so I've made several cherry pies (just in case he does get a chance to drop in here today.)
....And along with the above Meterological news also is another one....In about 3 days, the sun will start to set later.....
So far, we've been missing all the terrible ice, sleet and freezing rain...! About 37 and very bright outside now with lots of blue sky. Looks like the weather pattern is finally changing and a big High system is coming down from the north and bringing cold weather. At least it looks like it will be more of a "normal" late Fall type system and not the treacherous stuff that's been spread over a large portion of the country.
All of our few inches of snow has melted....Bare grass....some leaves.

Mookie: you need a nose muffler.
Maybe someone will knit me a nose muffler? Let's see - I have a forest green coat, can borrow the red stocking cap from The Driver (resemble an olive) and now we need to decide the color for the nose cover.. Maybe red again for Rudolph the Olive?
Good morning from cold Sacramento, CA. It's 37 degrees outside as I type this.
(Grabs big mug of hot chocolate and big bowl of oatmeal with maple and brown sugar)
By the way, the Sacramento City Council has finally agreed to a plan to transform the former Sacramento Rail Yards into a major housing and shopping district. Unlike houses out in the suburbs, I think the housing at this new development will sell really fast, mostly because of its close proximity to downtown Sacramento.
Ack! Got frost up my nose!
They closed the schools (except ours) and I get to stay home when the Lincoln schools close. Driver was supposed to go in, but told him he wasn't taking himself and MIllie out on glare ice. It was total ice until after day break when it snowed a little.
But Missouri and Oklahoma have now gone into hibernation and we won't hear from them until spring thaw.
We were lucky - bored, but lucky.
Off to find my desk top.
Toast and PB, please. Got coffee?
morning
the temprature stayed warm enough so we had no ice last night with the rain.I'll make the mook a beagle just in case she comes in.
Joe
Good Wednesday morning, everyone! When I went to bed last night, our temp was still in the 60s, believe the temp was like 64.2 at 10 p.m. Now, the wind has picked up, drizzling rain outside this morning, and temps are 45.5 at almost 8 a.m. We got up to 74 degrees yesterday, and could actually go outside in short sleeves! Today, temps are to gradually fall during the afternoon, with more rain coming in this afternoon, and night.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, and hot tea are ready. On the warmer bar, there is: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy, and the following kinds of oatmeal: peaches & cream, regular oatmeal, maple & brown sugar, raisin & spice, and cinnamon oatmeal.
SPECIAL NOTE: Hope Mookie was able to make it into work this morning, and will possibly make an appearance in here soon.
SPECIAL NOTE #2: TO RANDY VOSS!! Will think of something very special for lunch/dinner today, in case he gets to drop in on his birthday!
