Man! That hot apple cider sure smells good! It's just the ticket for a cold morning like this. It's 3 degrees above 0 here in Sioux Falls, and I am not exactly thrilled with the idea of walking to work this morning in the cold.........actually the walking isn't all that bad. The bad part is just waiting for the manager at Wendy's to show up for work, and Miss Flakey is habitually at least 15 to 20 minutes late in getting there. I will probably freeze my feet waiting for her.
It's supposed to warm up to about 27 degrees here later this afternoon.
I hope the rest of you folks out there have a good day, and stay warm!

Good Sunday morning, to all. Very windy (winds gusting 30 - 40 mph), and getting light snow. Do see some local vehicles that didn't move overnight, that have a light layer of snow on them. Temps are at 32, 33 at 6:40, and will be dropping this afternoon, into the 20s.
Coffee is ready, as well as hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and hot water for tea.
On the warmer bar this morning: turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, bagels, bear claws and blueberry muffins.
Make sure you're bundled up real good this morning, going out to Church or work, wherever you will be going this morning.
Happy Sunday everyone. Well, we actually got some rain in Carolina. I'm not sure how much, but it was heavy at times. It came out of Georgia so hopefully, it helped with their reservoirs some. Currently, 45 deg and clear. I think I will hold it to a sausage dog this morning. Yall stay safe and warm

Looks like Joe took care of fixing the pizzas for tonight, and the chili and beef stew and cornbread are ready, in Crock Pots, keeping warm. (Well, the cornbread's on the warmer bar, with the pizzas.)
All we had was a little bit of snow, mostly freezing rain and sleet. On the north sidewalk, running along the side of the house, we had about 1/2 inch of ice/sleet. With it still raining, and the temps going down to somewhere between 25 and 28 overnight, imagine it's going to be ice covered again tomorrow morning. Haven't heard the local news and weather report yet this evening, so will go in a few minutes and see what's up for us overnight.
Joe the popcorn and hot chocolate sound good for later on; but, with me not being able to have popcorn anymore, guess I'll take a cup of hot chocolate later on.
You all stay warm and dry, and talk with you later.
well we have had about 2 inches of snow so far.the heaviest snow is near the I-70 corridor.tonight more snow with blowing and drifting.we'll see what it looks like in the morning.the pizzas for tonight are ready to go and we will have popcorn and hot chocolate later.
stay safe

Good late morning everyone. And yes, I can use a big bowl of hot beef stew--it's cool but with cloudy conditions, the higher humidity makes for bone-chilling cold. In short, staying warm could be a bit of an issue....

Good Saturday morning. We have a current temp of 33 (that's listed on the tv screen, at the local tv station), and our outdoor thermometer is showing 35.6 degrees. Streets are slushy, and I'm not sure if it's snow or sleet I see on the vehicles. I haven't ventured outside yet, this morning! Do know, via tv reports, that just across the river, in southern Indiana, they have gotten snow. They're saying that the closer you get towards Indianapolis, there's more snow on the ground.
Joe, thanks for cooking the ham, eggs and pancakes. Got my mug of coffee, right here with me, and a couple of pancakes and some eggs sound really good this morning!
good morning

By the way, due to the very cold weather all over the country, how about making big pots of beef stew with cornbread, chili and French onion soup for tomorrow instead of the Pizza Fest?
Hope you all have a great evening, and take care!
Looks like another sloppy drive home after PE on Sunday. If it looks too bad, I'll just get a room down there.

Thanx Joe!
Gas is whatever the Driver pays for it. I am right side and gas tank on left.
Millie doing well in ice/snow. She is front-wheel drive and ABS and just does super. I haven't even had to rip off a door handle once this season. The old Ford LTD was a sled.
1-3 snow this weekend - natch. I saw a coal and freight trains briefly yesterday afternoon. It was so nice! Not sure if we will make it out this weekend.
I am packing for my long sojourn into the holidays. After the 21st it will be the 2nd before I surface again. Maybe. Don't get comfy - I am liable to pop up who knows when or where.
So much time, so little mischief.
Dan be careful with the hammer.well the NWS says maybe 5-7 inches of snow saturday night but it all depends where the storm tracks. matt wants to get the sleds out.here mookie is your beagle and your coffee.gas was still 2.89 here in nw ohio this morning.
Mookie, used my "Gopher" and got your coffee mug down, and ready to pour your coffee, as soon as you get in. I'll be over by the heater, in one of the rockers, with my chocolate covered, cream filled doughnut and a raspberry danish and my mug of coffee, watching the trains go by.

I'll be right over. We've been in the $3.30 range for the past month or better.
In Denver, it dropped from $3.05 to $2.91 over the last 6 days....Tree(Larry) you could always visit Vail or Aspen and not feel left out. Those places tack on about an extra 45 cents/ gallon because they are off the pipeline and have to truck their fuel in from Denver or SLC. Grand Junction has a pair of fuel tank farms (Valero & Conoco) that are replenished by rail from Denver refineries. Kinda knocks off the alure of living up in the hills.
.........By the time you get here...it will be something else...! I'm guessing higher. They must have a boat payment due.
