Okay...does the diner sell booze? Because I am ready for a double of Napoleon brandy in my coffee.

Sure. Have all you want. Just don't get silly and try to tickle Vinny. That would be a bad idea.

Mornin' everyone!

"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas....."  Ah yes, everything is white outside today and is supposed to stay that way for a couple days here in the Finger Lakes.  Not a whole lot, but a couple inches of nice fluffy snow to make evertything look right for the day.

Zoe, I'll have a cup or two of Seneca Lake Roast Organic Coffee in my my R&GV RR Mug and a couple of those sour cream glazed donuts you have over there on the counter.

I have to get to w*rk.  Have a big dish of my Famously Good Winter Squash to make for Christmas Dinner at my son's house tomorrow.  I will be going over for breakfast also.  Will then probably leave for a few hours and then head back over for dinner.

Just got an email that the missing gift will be delivered by UPS (says "out for delivery") today.  So I now am a happy Santa with all my shopping done and only a couple gifts to wrap!

Later!

Galaxy- Boy I can’t even imagine living in a place that small….and still have BrendaSurprise Laugh. We have 1800 sq ft three bedroom, two bath, greatroom, dining room and kitchen. Plus 1800 downstairs and we STILL don’t have enough room for shhhhtuff. Now me, I could do it. I agree with the anti-loft. Wouldn’t want to have to negotiate the ladder. And the one with upstairs, cabins I think, well let’s just say I think with the stair design, you had best get your bed and furniture in before you set the roof…

Todd: 1} remember we live in a 920 Sqft trailer with no basement. SO half the size of your grandios cottage!

2} I'd add some 6-8 feet to the great room to make it 15 x oh about 17feet, so about the size LR we have now, actually a litttle bigger.

3} If we had a basement too, it'd be grand.

4} the 1/2 bath would go where the closet by the door is and into the BR closet in front { Seal off the clsoet ffrom hall and The toilet in the closet facing the BR the mini-sink in the part of the closet and a shorter BR closet will result}. with a full closet behind the front door by moving said door over, we'll have I think ample closets.

5} the closets in the rear BR {extended to 8 feet wide} would be "conjoined" all one closet along that wall.

6} the loft WOULD be over the frotn BR for Atttic style storage. The loft would also be over the kit area for sleeping for guests or maybe storage too. Just no loft over the Great ROom.

7} Those stairs you think you can't get your BR furniture up? YOU CAN, except maybe a KING size and we only have a queen. I've been in houses with those types and size. works OK. Not as tight as you might think.

I am thinking of maybe building one here if we ever get the chance, and obviously one for Hawaii, where every SQFT costs upwards of $250++ and so Has to COUNT there!

Oh well we'd probably be better off buyng an old small house already dilapidated and fixing up!

Dreams, wonderful dreams..

Have a great holiday evening!

Good Evening on this night of all nights!

We are back from the visit to our son´s place. It was good to see the little one, as we have not seen him for months. We spend about 5 hours with him and his GF - I will tell you more about it tomorrow, I still have to chew on a few things before I will be able to swallow them.

Petra and I will spend a quiet evening tonight, share some good old memories when times were good, will laugh a little, but also cry a little about the losses we had to bear this year.

Peace on Earth, and goodwill to all men.

Blessings to all my friends NOB, SOB and Downunder and prayers to those struck by illness or misshap.

No computer time thus far today. I was busy doing this and that until my father left for work. Had a chat with my niece this afternoon while she was wrapping gifts. She's one of the 'last minute' crowd when it comes to that. When she finished that she took off to visit her husband at work. That's about a three hour drive. Just over two hours the way she drives. I put the gifts I wrapped for my family on the trestle table in the great room so they can be packed up to my sisters place tomorrow. Christmas dinner will be served there also. No turkey. It's Tex-Mex. Her enchiritos are famous. One by itself is enough for a meal. Many people can't finish one. I can tackle two plus the dinner fixings. There will also be tacos, refried beans, sweet potatoes and whatever else she whips up. My father is taking a large ham so there will be something he considers to be Christmas dinner.

Music  Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus lane[/color]Music

Merry Christmas EVE!

Wellm, guys and Sue if you are here, hope Santa brings you lots of goodies to your liking. He's been under our tree and tomorrow we will open presents!

No train stuff again this year, was hoping for some Z scale stuff, but bills got in the way.

Tee Hee: I went to the Credit Union today and the usual gal who waits on me, we had a conversation like this:

I said "Have you been good so Santa can bring you lots of presents?"

She said: "Oh, I have been VERY good"...

I said: "Oh, so it's a new car he's bringing you!"...

SHe said: "oh, I haven't been THAT good...I've had my moments!"

Sleep well, and may there be a Train Under the tree in the morning!!!

Well,

It looks like Christmas will be just the two of us for now.

We will open the Santa presents under the tree.

Then I will cook a glazed ham, sweet potato dish, mixed veggies and maybe some regular potatoes.

FIL is going the 2 hour trip to the cemetery {MOH hates FIL for picking the military cemetary so far away but his only close option}. I tried to get MOH to go with FIL, BUt the two do  NOT get along. I could barely stand the 2 hours in the car with those two to get there at funeral time! It is always instant clash between them. SO MOH isn't going. FIL wants to visit and se the wreaths they have on the Military graves.

We WILL take MY widowed father a nice dish of CHristmas Dinner.

AND later when the FIL gets home, we will take a dish to FIL later.

That's our plan and we are sticking to it!

MERRY

Good Morning!!! And a…..

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all!!!!

Coffee and the Christmas buffet please! Thanks!

Yup, it appears since the …Confused..can’t remember the name of the pub that used to be here for those that partake, kinda fizzled, we got some less than soft drinks in here. Of course there was always that “special bottle” they kept in the back for Inch’s coffee.Whistling

Galaxy- Oh yes I know you’re used to being short on  space and quite frankly you would be downsizing just about the percentage of what I’d say we could if done smartly, and still be comfortable. Use to live in a mobile home myself for a couple years. All a bigger place does is allow for more un-needed stuff and to hang on to the things you should really get rid ofLaugh. Besides, the older we get, the farther things seem to be from where we want them!Laugh I was just looking at the living room/dining area and thinking…you know that is reeeeal small and with no real storage, I don’t know. But I see you have that noticed and accounted for, and I think actually you said that the first time, just slipped me mind. Hey, they are nice looking though. Take some getting used to, but they are nice

Today is a supposed to be quiet and uneventful because we had our Christmas exchange last night. All went well by the way. Brenda and I will have our modest exchange this morning as soon as the dog gets up for the second time (which should be within the next half hour if all goes normally) and then….well just don’t know. Dinner for three, counting the dog, will be Prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable that I hope will be broccoli, and of course a salad. Dessert will be some kind of chocolate peanut butter pie I bought from some school thing last month.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Good morning. It's 30° with 100% humidity. The high will be 55° and fell like 60°. There will be a few clouds.

Not really in a festive mood today. I've was up all night. GERD has been kicking my butt big time. It would flare up for a while, die down for a bit then flare up again. I've been taking some Tums antacid tablets and they're helping a bit but it's still kicking me around. Getting ready to take my morning meds and have a light meal to keep my stomach settled. I hope this goes away before the family festivities start. Of all days why does my body pick today to pick on me? I hope nobody decides to pull a practical joke or something on me because it would be easy to tick me off and having a hacked off short tempered Indian in the room wouldn't be fun for anybody. Well my friend Harry (an Apache) might enjoy it but I sure wouldn't. Think I'll see if I can get a bit of rest while I can.

Good Evening!

It´s been a quiet day today - the phone rang only once. Took my time to study all the pictures in my new book, which gave me some hints on where to improve my loco design to be more prototypicaal.

Tomorrow, I will start on the cardboard mock-up of it.

We already had our dinner - Petra spend hours in the kitchen and we both wolved it down in 15 minutes! But, boy, was that delicious! It looked like this:

We have enough leftovers for tomorrow!

Well the GERD finally decided to go away and leave me alone, for now. So I managed to get a bit of a nap in and I feel a lot better now. No unwrapping of gifts yet as the festivities haven't started at my sisters place yet. At least this time I'll be able to walk up the steps. I've been practicing a lot and can do fairly well as long as I'm not carrying anything. But if I'm carrying something all bets are off. And I can get into her house without having to do the first seven steps of the ballet on my butt. That's a BIG improvement. Now I already know what one of my gifts is. After all I ordered the little gem.

That's called a 'FloppySD'. It's a SD card reader/writer that emulates an Apple II Disk II floppy drive. The other gifts that have my name on them I have no idea whatsoever what's in them. I'll find out later today. After dinner they might have to roll me back down here.

Now I imagine there might be one or two questions about this morning computer related photo, like what the heck is that after the '//'s. It looks like EPB but believe it or not it's 'SRB'. Seriously! I entered 'SRB' in 'Source Code Pro' font then switched it to 'Symbol font' and it comes out as ' '.

Hope you have a great day and remember, all food cosumed today has zero calories! It's the Christmas exemption at least that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

We are off to my MIL's place soon for dinner. It won't be a traditional Christmas one though as we doing Italian food, chicken parmigana.

Ho, Ho, Ho.....

Merry Christmas!

I went over to my son's this morning to have a great breakfast and to exchange our gifts.  I will be leaving here to go back over there for a Prime Rib Christmas Dinner and to photograph and document the gift "Feeding Frenzy" that is part of DILs family tradition.  I have some very expensive chocolat bark from a downtown chocolate store here for each of the rest of the family and will likely get a few small gifts during the sharing session afetr the meal myself.

I got a couple of needed tools from Micro Mark (Wire rope andspring wire cutter and a wire stripper/cutter and a few other things.)  Son just called and said dinner will be served soon and to get over there!

Later!
