Got my CTT. Enjoyed the forum member features.

Went to Miss Edna's and got the long-desired MTH Premier six-car Southern AAR hopper set. Looks great behind my Southern FM.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and mild in SE Indiana with temps in the 40s.  Congrats to Jumijo on the article!  Very nicely done!  Congrats to all the other forum who were published as well.  Maybe one day CTT will have an exclusive fourm issue (or maybe not, not sure the advertisers would go for that).  I read some of the articles last night, but not all of them.  I liked the Route 66 article and the collectible page on the twin bin dump car.  I have some ideas as well and maybe I will fire up the word processor.  I did weights and track work at the YMCA, but I am still getting back up to speed after the two week down time.  I had the usual fare on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all,

Up early for dayshift.  Wet and 40 F.

Yes the kids can run them, but with supervision!  It is strange, but they like to run them slow and easy which is OK with me!

Got to go

May God bless

Morning All,

Brewed a fresh pot with some great Community Coffee from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  My wife's cousin sent us a sampler pack to remind us of the great coffee we had when we visited with them in Gonzales, LA. Wow is it good...

Jim Apitz - great article and photos in the February CTT. Finally got time to read some of it last night. Great job.

Today's the last work day until January 2nd.  Only a half day for kids.  They go home right after lunch.  Last year the Superintendent sent everyone home early. That was a first.  Hope he does the same this year. Could use some extra time for shopping for the Mrs.  I already have a few things but really need to get a few more items from her list. I wonder if she'd like a new locomotive Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg].

Have a great day.

Congratulations to Don Baker for having his letter published, Dave Connolly for having his photo published (and for being next issue's feature article), and  Dennis Brennan for his layout article, all in the February CTT. That's 4 forum members in just one issue!

Schools have already broken up for the holidays over here. Lad is going to a friends today for a sleepover. They are going ice skating. Might swing past the local train store on my home. Very little O gauge but I need lots of trees for our mountain....

Got the layout baseboard frames finished last night. Might start laying the slate floor in the gamesroom later.

Have a great day all.

Nick

P.S. Did someone mention Cookies...Hmmm.

I have all the makings for Sherry Trifle in stock. I'll make it tommorow. Its made to my Great Grandmothers recipe. Lets just say it has its own octane ratingWink [;)]

Finally got the laptop back - my wife is printing labels for Christmas cards - bet she is up for hours putting these things in order!

I want to thank a lot of great guys for the personal emails you sent me and the kind posts above.

Sir James, Chewy and I will be over very soon - love cookies and peanut butter!

I'm off through the 1st, so just started a nice little at-home vacation.  Tomorrow, I'm going on a field trip with my son, then I'll sign him out of school and we'll go do a little shopping for my wife (shhh!) and also plan to swing by 2 hobby shops, one carries Ross switches.... RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Been a long couple of days on this end. I hope everyone is doing well. Rich, as to the Sherman comment, he just did a little "Urban Renewal" I know you remember that from your FF days in Jersey. As to living in Georgia, it is great! Was in the 70s today and we are getting the much needed rain right now. Two things I miss are the train stores and the food varieties. They also have great Southern Bells down here....married one.

No time for trains as we had plenty of honey-dos to get to. We are having inlaws this weekend and I had to get some work done. I am looking forward to a nice deep fried turkey with all the trimmings. Should be a good weekend.

One train related item, got a NYC yard superintendant car from Diecast Direct. It is very nice and they had it at my door in two days. They are limited production, so if you model NYC, it would be good to get your order in now.

Well, I am beat and have to get to sleep. Only a few cases in the morning, so I hope to get home and rest for awhile.

God Bless,
dennis

Brutus- we hit the jackpot. My wife spent the day baking christmas cookies.Bring Chewy and a back pack. I'll just tell her I ate them.

All the layout is working good, so I just turn them on and watch. I was reading the threads about Fl. and Jan & Feb. would work for me but not year round. I'll say goodnite to Chewy but I may drop by again,,,,,,,Sir James

Evening all

Beauthiful weather in Southern Ohio.  Last day off for a while and been busy.  I have the garage ready for the sheetmetal roof.  Finished the gutterboards and facia today.  Tough to hang them when working alone.

Dennis, Looking forward to the movie.  We are going to show Facing the Giants to our youth group during a lock in we are going to have in February.

Hope you all have a great evening, I'm going  to relax for a bit.

May God bless

Jim
