HI GIZ,

OK the BIG NEWS is got my LEGACY!!!!!!  YEA!!!

The worst thing about the system was the wait for the batteries to charge up.  After the charging, I put the module chip in for the BB,.  Transfered all the info into hand held and we were off and running.  Neat way of starting the BB, you press start up and the voice say I'm going to start this Big BOY up now.  Sounded real cool.  The other great things are the speed settings for various settings, slow ,med, fast, and high balling.  Where the voice comes on and says we are high balling it now, pretty cool.  Also with the speed you can see by a graph how fast you're going.  The one thing I couldn't find on the new Cab2 was the reverse button.  I had to read this and where it is , is a toggle switch on the boost and brake button.  You press in on this and toggle the reverse and forward applications.  Nice big veiwing screen.  I used the throttle, red L knob and really like it.  You can feel the steps by way of a little click.  All features worked great and the smoke unit  for BB works terrific.  You press the number 9 key and smoke comes on, press it again and you get the low setting, press again and get the med setting, and again get the high setting.  Neato features.  Only played with it for about 20 minutes but boy it sure is COOL.  As the CHIEF said "IM IN LOVE".  ME TOO CHIEF ME TOO.Big Smile [:D]

I'll report later on other stuff I didn't try yet.

THIS IS REALLY COOL!!!!!

I'll be running maybe later but have to do my Christmas shopping for my wife tonite, and its GIZ NITE OUT SHOPPING.  Oh boy!!!!!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 37 degrees. Going up to 40 today, with maybe some sunshine later.

Today is the day to drive to Cambridge for the groceries. Nasty job. Prices still high. Gas is still around $2.90 a gallon.  We have been averaging only, about 600 miles a month, lately. Car insurance is lower. Looks like no train time today. We'll be busy until Sat.

Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Had a successful train night tonight!  Got my Cotton Belts back on line.  Had a capacitor come off, which was strange.  I had the cab off and the cap just fell off a pcb.  What surprised me was the leads were still on it.  When I put it back in the holes in the PCB only had solder on one side, like what you expect in a wave solder machine.  Just the solder dimple.  But no solder in the feed-through hole.  Got the cap back in and now secure.

Then got the Polar Express put up around the Christmas Tree, and everything is good.  And the C-80 transformer is great!!!  Had some minor problems with it after first of last year, had it repaired and boy did they do a great job!  Looks like a Newone!

Glad to see the environment is improving, Too many good guys here for anything else to happen.  Thanks everyone!

See you all tomorrow.

Watch out now.  Frankie's wife is Italian.  Come to think of it, her madian name means "wall layer" in Italian and her Dad is the last of his family line of brick/stone masions.  Frankie has now learned the trade and helps his FIL on his days off.  The night before their wedding, Pam and I gave a good old Southern Pig Pick'n.  Those Italian Yankees from the state of NY loved it.  A happy fun loving group of people.

Hey Sir James!  Good Coffee, did you make it?  Went to our kids' Christmas pageant and my folks came too.  Nana and Papa got to visit with the kids for a few minutes after the show and they were happy, will see again on Christmas Eve.  Mom will have knee replacement due to arthritis in Feb?  This is good, will get rid of pain!  Sounds like we did get great deals on those HWX cars!  I was just thinking some icecream would be great so get a bowl ready!  Chewy would like a big spoon of peanut butter and nothing said to my wife, okay?  ;)

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

GOOD EVENING ALL,

Lee F-your welcome, have fun

Brutus-I still have ice cream and chips, peanuts, was at the store today but forget cookies, sorry. I think we did ok with the HW cars as last nite the #20 went for $31.00+s/h.

It was 33 today but no signs of snow going away. streets are clear now, didn't take to long after the wind stopped. I let a couple of trains run around today,I like to let them run while i'm doing other things as it's kind of like ,oh here comes a train. Not bed time yet so i'll drop back.

Chief, what do you feed the deer in the cold weather? Last winter I was surprised to see some deer in my back yard eating the birdseed I had put out after a snowstorm.

We feed the deer, here, too. They will eat birdseed because it has cracked corn in it. Found that out. We feed them shelled corn. They love it.

Next spring I am going to try to grow some okra grew it twice before in Ohio but it seems to be a picky plant but once it gets established it produces and produces lots of pods and you have to pick them pretty often or the pods turn wood like. Ok, I misread & misunderstood your statement below, which is why I wrote what I did. For that I will apologize for, publicly here . I thought you ( meaning Brent ) wrote the part on lip service, thereby attacking 53. Thanks that someone straightened me out on this.

Frank,
Your post would have been just fine without the off-handed instead of just publicizing it with disingenuous lip service comment.

I have nothing against any of the forum members, but it sure would be nice if personal feelings could be left to private conversations... Whistling <img src=" border="0" width="30" height="20" /> It grows tiresome after a while.

Boy, Lee, that temp sure sounds good. The Aventura Mall layout looked marvelous in the magazine.

I'm overhearing the youngest as he watches Curious George on PBS - he's playing and dispatching his toy trains - go George go!

Spent a delightful afternoon building Mt Seaman higher, re-working lights, putting down a few roads, vastly expanding a station at the front of the layout, beginning the prelims to putting in an airport in the middle of Fortner Yard, tripling the size of Apitz Forest and lastly, expanding Eagles Ridge Electric Park.

sir james, thank you about the CW-80, have been playing with two at a friend's house in WPB FL and some new Lionel trains. The CW-80's work very good and I found out my Willaims S-2 steam locomotive,# 671, has both bell & whistle in the tender along with smoke in the engine.  He has a UPS steam loco set with two boxcars and a flat car with a UPS van on it and the UPS caboose, the locomotive has whistle feature in the tender. We are using 031 tubular & 027 track to set up his layout but not combining the two track sizes, has been a real chore to clean up that much track with a dremel tool, would have been worse with sandpaper!

Now about the weatther here in south Florida, about 54 overnight and near 74 in the daytime, feels a little cool. Hopefully we get some more rain!!  We won't get snow for the big day, maybe rain.  My air conditioner gets to take a break now! Have central heat but have only used it two years ago to try it and then burn out the thermostat, replaced the thermostat and it works great.

Been to Target in Lake Worth FL and they are almost out of Lionel Train sets, just two left and that was at 1:00 PM est 12-18-07, no track expansion sets left.  I don't go to Macy's as that is out of the way for me.

Wow!  Not sure what to say having read a few threads.Disapprove [V]  Well, I hope to get to some trains this afternoon.  Colin, on the History Channel, they have a show on the Pennsylvania RR.  Mostly in the Eastern part of the railroad's line.  Plenty of steam action.

On other fronts, have a housefull this weekend, so have to clean up the train room and get ready for the inlaws.  I hope to check back soon and hope that SPF is kept on the enjoyable side.

God Bless,

Colin--

Good luck with your surgery, you'll be glad you did it at your age as the recovery time will be quicker.  Our oldest son had it done when he was 25 and it worked out well, he's still a fantastic downhill skier and has no problems, in fact the DR. said the repaired leg was better than his good leg.  Skiing did not cause his problem.   Line up several good books for the down time.

Good afternoon everyone,

Its 4 days until the ACL surgery, and that is all I need on top of this week. I had an english and religion test today, I have another english test and spanish test tomorrow, and another english test and history test on Thursday.

Regarding the flaming, it's really just a waste of space on here. That's all I am going to say about that.

Have a good afternoon. Merry Christmas.
