Chief: Nope...'tis Da Nawth! Life still goes on here after a snowfall. Great news on the school donation...Maybe now is a good time to hire a nawth'rn boy as a Shop Teacher! Strategy??? Hmmmm Sounds like code for a Mayoral grits raid. To Arms To Arms! Don't fire 'til you see the whites of their Grits!
Sunny good but cold morning. Off to school right up the street. Lady won a contest from General Mills and they are gving the school of her choice $50,000. She chose Roseyville. Then off to lunch with neighboring Mayor for some strategy. Hope to get home and run Big Boy with Legacy. Got chip loaded but did not have time to run it in new form. Have a good one.
PS: Brent this is a copy of my reply to your last post on Sunday Photo Fun. I just read it.

I bought a Bob Ross book on landscapes to learn how to paint “Happy Trees” It was easy.
Broke down and got another Lionel/American Flyer accessory; the Animated Track Gang. Never would afford an original. I’ll post pics Sunday, not sure when it will get on the layout.

A good frosty morning from south central Ohio.
Brutus, Kpolak.....figures the cool ideas have already been done.
Going shopping at a warehouse sell they have odd stuff once or twice a year never know what you mayfind.
Good morning all,
It may be a partly cloudy day in SE Indiana and the temps may reach the 40s, but that is all subject to change. I was busy last night. I worked out at the YMCA for the first time in two weeks. I did some Christmas shopping, and I had a pleasant surprise on the health savings account. I went to balance it and discovered I had not recorded a deposit. Woo-hoo! Found money! Now I can pay off a bill. Just the usual fare on the dining car from "Points East". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is cold outside. 18 degrees. Going up to 44 today, with some sunshine.
Today, is a busy day. I have to run to a few stores and pick up last minute Christmas things. Getting ready for company this Saturday. Only one coming during the Holidays. No train time today.
Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck

CSXetc: Great news! Conga!
My daughter 3-yo plays 'Jump Start World'. A learning game for pre-k schoolers thru a CD at home that's linked to an online source. Seasons change...there's snow on everything now. Also keeps track of her birthday. Last week, they had Happy Birthday banners and birthday cakes out.

John F/jefelectric = you are correct, the terazzo is very expensive ( an additional $100K+) but it will last forever. The current school where my office is located has terazzo floors that are 50+ years old and look as good today as they did when new. The old school I was in was less than 20 years old and we had replaced the original carpet with tile and then had to replace parts of that tile floor in the hallway because it wasn't installed correctly and started to crack and come up. The new school also has a metal roof which is more expensive initially but will last at least 50 years, probably much longer than that. The terazzo installation will take 6 or 7 weeks and you are right, it will tie up sections of the building for a while. Contractors were hustling to get their work done in the first area where the terazzo will be installed.
Doug Murphy - LOL - I can barely balance myself and a coffee cup on the exercise bike much less a laptop.
Have a great day.

OH, you haven't been around. HUMM, hadn't noticed.
Mayor's party was great. Great food and drink. Only 11 mayors and lots of Town Commissioners/Aldermen. Was at the Capital City Club. 21st floor of the Progress Energy Building.
LAZ must not have gotten his Legacy. Not a word from him. If he did, it might have zapped him and he is out for the count. Was waiting for his report. Maybe he is SNOWED in and no internet.
RT, too late to return the call. Will call tomorrow after all the meetings.
Good night all.

"Happy Little Trees" - Gotta love Ross!
I think the interface cards come with software or drivers that provide the data, don't they? Ever play Animal Crossing? I was playing that with my kids for a while on the nintendo DS - wi fi. We could visit each other's world etc. Anyway, the game is in real time and sometimes it rains all day - it's tied to the current day/month/year and has all the seasons. To make big $$$, you could reset the date in the system to say 10 years ago, plant stuff, then set it up a week and harvest the fruit and repeat as necessary. Bad thing, if you skipped to far, weeds grew everywhere, people moved away and you got bugs in your house from neglecting it! One of the items you could buy was a trainset on a little table you could run in your house - it would just go around in a circle - kinda neat! I played that with the kids for months!
Sorry Sir James - got distracted. Had to snake a toilet and bathe Chewy - she's getting clipped right now, so pretty! G'night and TTFN!
JEF - you've been busy building that house, is it a Christmas gift?
RT -
Doug- for my grandsons third birthday his mother gave him cake and ice cream, soooo his now famous statment was: who gave me banilla? I wanted chocolate. Sorry its that simple, but we use it.
Brutus its suppose to be the combo car. There was less than 30 minutes but I bid and went to bed. I expected someone would jump on it last minute. I'm happy I'll have a fourth car for a lot less than a new freight car. Even if lionel sells add ons they will be more than that and the kids don't know it's the same number or care.
heres one for you chief its the southern version to Rudolph the red nose reindeer
Leroy The Reindeer
Well, you've all heard the story About Rudolph and his noseBut I'll tell you a Christmas tale That never has been toldYou may think you've heard it all But you ain't heard nothing yetAbout that crazy Christmas The North Pole can't forget
Well, Rudolph was under the weather He had to call in sickSo he got on the horn to his cousin Leroy Who lived out in the sticksHe said "Santa's really countin' on me And I hate to pass the buck"Leroy said "Hey, I'm on my way" And he jumped in his pickup truck
When Leroy got to the North Pole All the reindeer snickered and laughedThey'd never seen a reindeer in overalls And a John Deere tractor hatSanta jumped in and said "Just hold on Cause we've all got a job to doAnd like it or not, Leroy's in charge And he's gonna be leadin' you"
Chorus
And it was Leroy, the Redneck Reindeer Hooked to the front of the sleighDeliverin' toys to all the good ole boys And girls along the wayHe's just a down home, party-animalTwo-stepping across the skyHe mixed jingle bells with a rebel yell And made history that night
Before that night was over Leroy had changed their tuneHe had'em scootin' a hoof on every roof By the light of the neon moonSanta wrapped his bag with a dixie-flag He was havin the time of his lifeAnd you could hear him call "Merry Christmas to ya'llAnd to all of ya'll a goodnight"
He mixed jingle bells with rebel yell And made history that night
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne
