Evening. Been pouring rain. Good soaking. Hope it is raining like this west of us. That is were the lake is and it needs it bad. Bet the pond is flowing over the spillway again.

Evening all,
Taking tonight off for the Rite of Acolyte service in Columbus. Made it up there and back with no problems. Worse snow was in the Columbus city limits. Due to the predicted weather I asked folks who were going to come not to try the drive. Daughter in Cincy had ice so she stayed home as well as oldest daughter who was going to go up with us. Now it is rain and lots of it. Already having low land flooding.
Thanks to all for the congrats on receiving the Rite of Acolyte. The service was real neat. We have a great Bishop. One more year till ordination.
All take care and may God bless
Jim

Sir James -- I'll leave the cashews in the tin - don't eat the peanuts, chewy licked the chocolate off them
Doug - I've got an electric, but it's very small - it's like a shovel? I think it's a Toro. It works pretty well, but takes a long time and if the snow is deep it takes a long time. They have a bigger electric model I've seen advertised, but I never found one to look at in person, is that what you have or the shovel one? I picked up this Craftsman one at a garage sale. It does have electric start, but I used manual today because I didn't want to move my truck to get the power cord - big mistake, should have got the cord! Will do tomorrow for sure.
All BSafe is right, Laz - every road around us is a sheet of ice now that the sleet has refrozen and snow is about 4 inches I guess. Not the 15 Sir James is getting at least. Hope Blueberry Hill got to run his trains too!

HI GIZ,
Well got CHRISTMAS tree today with brother. At least we did bag something this year. A tree!!!!
Ran trains for two hours NO PILE UPS!!!!! All ran good.
CHIEF $100 for LEGAC, well if its in Southern, all the dictionaries are sold out up here. You'll have to reprint and we know how long that well take?
Still waiting for the BIG STORM???? I think its another FIZZLE. sort o like my frizzen pan right before the flintlock goes off.
All b safe.
IT,s A SNOWEN,
Brutus - No cashews? ok i'll drop buy anyway. Repairman at favorite train store slipped on last weeks ice and cracked his shoulder. He must have landed on his arm as everything is badly brused and hand is swollen more than twice normal size. He asked if I would help with repairs and I sure would not say no as he does favor's for me. he is turning away many repairs but most regulars are going to wait until he is better. What he wants from me is the flyer type quick to fix items. Going to head for the barn but not looking foward to the mornings snow fall.Good nite Chewy, Sir james

Chief - I would REALLY recommend that you take the Big Boy back inside!!
Its a "L E G A C Y" system, and NOT "L E G A S E A" systen, and you are right that section about addressing the system, means putting it in the box and sending it to Don Baker, Cerritos California.
I hold off on sending the $100, because you would NEED to READ the manual, and by the time that is completed, Legacy III will be enroute. Just my
Don
We had some rain and sleet here maybe a couple inches when I got up this morning. Don't know how many inches it would have been as real snow instead of snow-like crud. We went to son's basketball games and it was actually raining and sleeting, but it was snowing when we got home at about 4:30. Daughter and I cleared the driveway while son took a shower after the game. We'll have to do it again tomorrow, but since it is now snow, then I think the snowblower should work tomorrow - today it was just slush and sleet so it didn't work very well and we switched to shovels. Sure goes through a "tank" of gas fast! I have enough for a couple more refills I think, but will need to get a new can that holds more before the next snow. It's a 40:1 mix. I might just convert the 3 gal can I have for the lawnmower and replace it next Spring. No train time today, but hope to work on the Christmas layout tomorrow.
Chief - Legacy sounds great, keep us posted sir!
Sir James, Nick, Doug, John S, Laz, John B and all others, we have key lime pie, cookie-dough icecream, potato chips, or mixed nuts, so come on over! BYOB - wife didn't get to the grocery store.
Good evening all,
What a day! The wife and I went back and forth on whether to go to Bloomington for a wedding today. We finally decided to go and the roads were fine. It was a long day. We did get some Christmas shopping done so it was not a total waste. The couple getting married are still in college and way too young and she is not pregnant. I hope it lasts, but if it manages two years, I will be surprised. The "saucy wench" in the kitchen made bacon and biscuits for the dining car this morning, and there is plenty left over for tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Chief, you would have liked one thing at the wedding. They served sweet iced tea, and it was good. No grits, though.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Phillyreading-You did not have a problem with the CW-80. A PW horn or whistle relay does not matter which way the DC + or - is. so the relay will work from horn or whistle button.
Lite snow most of today, but they are predicting 6 to 10, some places 15 inchs of s##w by this time tomorrow. outing to train show and then to store was nice but no new toys.Same sellers, same stuff. Later, Sir James
Well, 2 hours of quality Daddy/daughter time in the books. We painted the entire ridgeline to Wills Mountain, while listening to a little Vince Guaraldi Trio, and a little Tony Bennett.
No precip here as of yet.
Raining here with droping temps to change over to snow in the morning, Northern Ohio to have close to blizzard conditions.

Now we know how that layout got to be so good. Seven year old built it.
Got to work with a CW-80 on monday of the past week, it is a nice small size transformer. It will work with post war engines, the only problem I encountered with the CW-80 was that it will work the horn feature on post war tenders with either the horn or whistle button being pressed, not so with the newer tenders from Lionel. On a short circuit the green light will flash several times, have not tried the accessory output side of it.
Don't know how it does with Williams engines and tenders, will have to take a Williams over to Jerry's to see how it does.
Hey Chief! Keep us posted about the new Legacy system!!
Hey Jimbo!! Got tired of driving around the airport every day, have new job.

cnw1995 - Thanks Doug-a-roo. I've been getting updates during the day on my buddy's new set. His Mrs was even up this morning turning a few laps.
As for Willy Wonka, I too was a dyed-in-the-wool Wilder fan, but I got to admit, the score by Danny Elfman is fabulous (I was a big Oingo-Boingo fan in the 90's).
Chief - rest assured, DietCoke was not consumed in any quantity.

Agian, our Southern Boy doesn't know SLEET from SNOW!!! We are getting a mixture of ice and rain which is worse than snow.
Did you hear the Chief just got some new fancy locomotive? Just watch him run it off the table and land on the poor dog asleep on the floor. The dog, startled, will jump on the layout and knock over several cars and locomotives and after the melee, the Chief's repair bill will be greater than his new locomotive.
Laz and Don B. don't waste your money. If you received instructions from the Chief you would need to pay someone to interpret them for you, unless you have taken your advanced course in Suthern.
It has been a very busy week for me. Some of you know why, some don't.
Wes, did you get my email?

Hey LAZ and DON B, send me a check for $100 and I'll tell you how Legacy works.
LATER
Hay it is snowing off and on here at the southern edge of Columbus, I am warm at my computer where the music is allways in the 80's except for the occasional Johnny Cash train song
Snowbody on the pot at the moment??? Snowway I am going out today unless I have to
Chef have you ever heard of Groundnut Soup??? I have an americanized version that uses peanutbutter it is spicy and very good. It was from Africa and brought back by a missionary friend of the family from church.
Dr who fans here and across the pond I seen the Dr who movie that came out a few years back and allthough the effects were good as special effects go they just did not fit the "feel" of the Dr who theme.

Great fifey. You picked well. That is the engine I gave the kid. They are great pullers, smokers and the whistle works with easy at any voltage. I am impressed with Lionel's work on that one.
Sprinkling rain and hope it pours. Off to Miss Edna's. Thenn home to do some work upstairs.
Hope all have a great day.
PS: Fifey, you failed the pee test. Shows you were under the influence of DIET COKE while building the layout. CONFESS.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It's a cold 32 degrees. Suppose to go to 34 today with freezing rain and / or snow, later. Good day to stay home.
Today, I am taking it easy. Worked hard around the house, last week. I will run trains, later, and do some more scenery work on the layout. Not too much new going on here.
Dining car was here and breakfast was good.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Good luck, Javier!
Kudos to you, Fife. That was a classy gift - the five-year old will remember it too.
Hey Guys!
I am getting ready for another long day in the Culinary world. Today, I have multiples holiday parties through out the hotel. We are feeding close to 1,000 but the tricky part all them are in different areas. That's means 200 here and 300 over there, etc. With different menus..Awesome challanges... Yesterday, we did the same amount but it was one function.
My enemy in the kitchen is the clock. We are rushing to beat the time. Let's hope no one call in sick. Good training!
Keep Railroading!
Hi GIZ,
Awaiting the BIG STORM? Begining of the week, said was going to be a major snow storm, now only freezing rain? We'll wait and see. Got snowblower ready. Bring it baby,I'm ready to go.
BRUTUS, yes pirates chest was my own design. Got the bottom done and cut out the top arcs now got to use biscut cutter to glue up arc for top the make round with belt sander. Latter going to cut all hardware on CNC plasma cutter the is in our HS Vo ag shop. Of course when I can find some time?
CHIEF, hope this Legacy is all that they say it is. Love my BB and have the UP FEF ordered, hope that comes in on Monday too.
Going to go for Christmas tree today.
B safe.
GOOD MORNING to ALL,
Weatherman predicting a heap of bad weather coming at us. Nothing yet, just heavy overcast.
Going out soon to a local train show and then to the train store to see what has come in. Lionel keeps bumping the delivery date for the little Kline box cab, the old 520 so I may never get to see one. Oh well . Everyone stay safe,,,,,,,Sir James
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Awaiting whatever the sky flings down on us. Wasn't gonna go to the Arbutus train show, now I may. Only takes 20-30 minutes to check out the tables, and the VFD does have a nice toy train layout. (Man have they come along way...)
Soapbox time!
We received a shipment yesterday. It had the Legacy systems to almopst cover the BB's sold BUT even that was short shipped, the remainder are supposidly with another order due next week. We did receive Legacy GP-30's, Chessie and CP, and a number of K-Line items. Where's the rest of Lionel engines? It doesn't do a dealer much good when Lionel short ships items owed to customers, none for store stock, and they wait till the week before Christmas to make deliveries, especially when some states have an inventory tax based on Jan. 1 stock and dealers are depending on Christmas sales. Its supprising that the dealer network doesn't go belly up the way Lionel, and others, meet their product commitments.
Kevin, as in Alaska, close that dang door ! It has been getting far to cold at night down here, it isn't as bad as the midwest and northeast, but nitely frost for almost a week now is going to play HECK on the gas & electric bill. Poor furnace is working overtime.
Picked up some MTH scale freight cars from a gentleman in Ohio, arrived sometime late tonite, good thing I was looking for them. The FedEx idiot didn't bother to ring the bell or rap on the door.
