Went to 2 LHS's today with no luck getting scale windows/doors so will have to look into buying online. Oh well. With picking up some last minute stuff for the wife and delivering some gifts to a friend, I didn't make it to electic trains on Page, so no Ross switches to play with - Wasn't going to get to them until next month anyway, so maybe will just wait now. If I save my allowance, I can get more then anyway!

Sorry I missed you Sir James, I was out eating with friends and then watching Jingle All The Way with the wife and kids before I finally got to CTT website.  Some time, why don't you shoot me an email (just hit the button) and send me your home email address?  I tried sending to you, but I think it must have gone to your junk folder or something.

Got my CTT magazine and read a few pages this morning waiting to go on the fieldtrip.  Nice letter Don!  Spotted that even without help from others!  Hope to finish reading it later.

CSX - I LOVE Bluegrass too!

Chef...First of all Lebanon is a beautiful small Ohio town.  It was an old stage coach stop between Dayton and Cincinnati.

For train watching, forget about Lebanon and go to the museum (old train station in Cincinnati) and watch the yard from the tower and see the huge S scale layout of Cinncy.  It is the best layout in this part of the country.  There is also a good train store in Mason, Ohio which is very close to Lebanon.  It is in the old downtown area of Mason on the north side of the stree.

Have a good trip. Cool [8D] Hope you can stand all the Ohio sunshine. Whistling [:-^]

Thanks for the information. I will visit those places tomorrow.

Just got back in from Bluegrass Jam at a local church, they sing mostly gospel but do a few non religous tunes as well they ended the program with Franklin county womanHeadphones [{(-_-)}]Laugh [(-D]

They break halfway thru for dinner(I only ate a small piece of peanutbutter fudge) was a pretty good turnout for being close to Christmas.

Excellent news Colin, get better soon.  York is a few months away....

Mel, I guess I'll see you on the morrow...Hope David will be busy!!!

I just got my announcement for the Deland show Jan  12-13th.  I may be able to go, my trip to NJ later that week may be postponed due to lack of green....at least Christmas will go well.

Sitting here having a little Dinty Moore Stew and watching the Polar Express run around the tree. Nice way to end the week.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes!!!! The surgery went well. I cannot put any weight on the knee right now. I have some pain, especially when I adjust my leg. I'm hoping the pain will leave me soon, as I really want to be able to walk on it before Christmas, even if a little.

Thanks again everyone!!! Have a good evening.

Got a call from my LHS a couple of hours ago. My disappearing hobo car finally came in. Rose didn't say whether the hobo was still with the car or not. So will make the trek to the Train Works tomorrow to pick up the car. Will be my first time with hands on anything train related in quite a while. Today was first day of winter and it looked like it. If I had been up North I would have expected snow with the gray skies but the temperature was in the mid 60's. Leaving town next Wednesday night on Amtrak 92, the Northbound Silve Star, for the big apple for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Will come back on Amtrak 97, the Southbound Silver Meteor. The ride will be more comfortable going up the old S line through Columbia, SC than the A line through Charleston, SC. Will give a report on the new dining car menus when we get home.

Baked a batch of cookies from a recipe of one of my Great Aunts from the early 1900's,(my Great Aunt, not me) They turned out well. If you are in Jacksonville, stop by! Any of you Yankee boys remember city chicken? I fixed that dish for Madge last week and she just about rolled in the gravy, she thought it was that tasty!

Prayers to all for recovery from surgery, illness, and loss of friends, especially at this time of year. Have a blessed Christmas or Hannukah and a great New Year.

Chef, You should get some replies since there are quite a few Ohio guys on the forum.  You might want to put your question in a separate tread since not everyone reads the pot.  Enjoy your vacation.

Thanks for the information. I am on vacation in Lebanon, Ohio for a week. I wanted to see what runs down here. Do you know what railroads runs by?

Only thing I know about Lebanon Ohio is that there is a big flea market down that way called Traders World. As far as trains I would Guess Norfolk Southern and CSX.

A quick stop by while I wait for the next case.  Just about done and then I am out of here.  I got called in early for an emergency that actually worked out real well as it moved the schedule along.

Decided to get the wife a day at the spa.  I will go and pick that up this afternoon.  Then it is to the house and plenty of work to get done before the company arrives.  I am hoping to get some train time in this evening.

I may not be able to be on till after Christmas, so in case I can't, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!  I hope the season brings renewed hope and peace to all.

God Bless,

Dennis
