Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a nice 57 degrees. Going up to 78 today, with a chance of a thunderstorm, later this afternoon.
Well, we are doing ok. We got thru yesterday. Slept a little better last night. It going to be rough for awhile. Thanks, again to all my friends for your support. Wife says " Thanks " , also.
Today, I have to run a few errands. I need to get away for a few hours. I may run trains later. That does me a lot of good. Takes my mind off of things. Maybe. I will try hard.
Good Morning, Jim..Thanks.
Dining Car is here. Need to eat breakfast. I will save a lot for " points east ".
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Good morning all,
It is rainy and mild in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s today (still above normal for this time of year). My wife and I went for a walk last night to enjoy the nice weather and then I went to the YMCA for weights. I was still tired from the workout I had Monday playing soccer. Tmcc man, good job on the grades! I went over yesterday during lunch to check out where I will be working at the new job. I did a little "meet and greet" while I was there. It will be different, but the pay increase will definitely compensate for it. This may be somewhat sacrilegious, and I do not want to offend anyone, but I made the observation last night to the family that the Israelites spent forty years in the desert, and there are various accounts of people spending forty days in the desert fasting. March 3 marked forty months of me being where I was and now.... (well, maybe it is not the Promised Land, but maybe some better times are ahead). It was just an observation. Some times you have to go thru h*** to get to a better place. If I upset anyone with these thoughts, please forgive me.
I sent the dining car to "Points East" this morning with a load of donuts. Maybe that will be of some comfort. I hope everyone, especially Chuck, has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Chuck, Glad to hear you are getting along! Running trains is very therapuetic! I can't wait to get to the new house and start construction...
Classics, I hear you on the 40 months thing. I was at a job for that long when I had to leave for health reasons - stress and the ex had caused me to add 50 lbs to my frame and I just couldn't do it any longer - took 10 months to get straight, divorced, find a new job, and get on with my life. That was 3 years ago! WOW! Best of luck to you and congrats on the promo! Weather to stay nice here in Northern MD through Sunday! Looks like I'll have to mow the lawn on Saturday . Wife wants to paint a wall in the living room, probably start that tomorrow night after work. Also need to replace a couple sections of carpet... any one know how to patch carpet? I have a few 4x8 spots that need to be patched (have remnant that I can use).Brent
Mornin' boys. Good to see that the Dining Car is still saving a little for "points east."
No offense here, Hoosier.
Looked out front expecting to see youknowwho fishing out of my fishpond, but it appears I can drink my coffee in peace.
88 - Still ringing?

Since we have a medical doctor or two on the forum, I would like one of them to write a prescription for me such that I am required to purchase O-Gauge Trains in vast quantities. Train Barn here I come!!!
Good morning to all the Coffee Potters and the lurkers from a bright and warm Buckeyeland, where excitment is in the air about the upcoming basketball games in Atlanta. The Buckeye Nation was sad to see North Carolina go down to defeat because we really wanted to put a whoppin on them.
It took all season, but our Columbus Blue Jackets finally are winning. Of course the season is over in six games, and I will join Tom S in rooting for Buffalo.
Mike, I have worked in some really bad holes. I have had owners go to jail. I have seen the FBI investigating owners. I have seen tantrums where books were thrown. No place is perfect, but.....
Tom, glad to see you back up and running.

Hello from the soggy Bluegrass!!
I can't stay long, but I wanted to drop a line to let everyone know that I passed my Hebrew Mid-term!! Yea!!! It wasn't glamorous (75%) but considering the fact that I was sure I failed it then 75 ain't too bad. Right now I'm just glad that I passed, what's more is that it only counts 10% of my grade so it won't kill my grade for the class.
Got a long day still ahead, take care all and keep 'em on the track!
Buckeye, I tried that one...... it didn't work for my wife, doubt it will work for yours. Every once in awhile, she will say something along the lines of "Gee Honey, think of all the trains you could buy with the money you would get for selling some of your guns". I only suggested one time that we sell some of her furniture to buy more trains. I am still recovering from that one. I think the internal bleeding has stopped.
Anyway, y'all have a blessed day.

Good (early) afternoon,
Almost typed morning till I looked at the time.
Don, I didn't start a York list yet, but it will be mostly small stuff, running out of room.
Colin & ATSjer, Congrats on the grades.
Tom, nice to see you post, got to stop working these crazy hours that interfere with trains and forum time.
Take care,

Good afternoon everyone,
I am hoping the week will go as fast as it has been. ECLSTS this weekend at York, it will be fun.
Don I won't be attending the TCA meet. This is what I am attending: www.eclsts.com
I know it will be fun. I don't have much homework tonight, so I am going to finish packing stuff for the show. Talk to everyone later.

Colin, Is there a web site that has info on this show? Maybe I can convince Jean to go along over and we can check out the road work and alternate routes for TCA. She likes the garden layouts.
(Added later) Colin, I found the info on the York Expo site. Two questions, can you take pictures & where will you be located.
Chuck - I am very sorry about your dog passing.
Colin - good job on the grades buddy.
Buckeye, LAZ - stop obsessing over GRITS. Just give in and walk towards the light...
Mike -congrats on the new job.
Brent - I have the constant ringing in my ears. Diagnosed as auto-immune syndrome. The doc says my body is treating the cells in my inner ear as foreign and thus anitbodies created to combat them. Must have been too many rock concerts (Iron Butterfly, Ten Years After, MC5, Bloodrock, Humble Pie, Mountain, Josephus, ZZ Top, BTO, Three Dog Night, Fleetwood Mac, CTA, Blue Oyster Cult, Bo Diddley, Jethro Tull, Foreigner, Rolling Stones, the Who, Herb Albert...).
Nice day here today. Warm and sunny. Might rain tomorrow.
Regards, Roy

Evening everyone,
John, yes pictures are allowed. We will be located in the modular hall, to the right of the entrance.
Hope to see you there.
BTW, thanks for the comments on my grades.

Chief, don't you have any real fish in that pond? I'm talking about Musky, Lake Trout, and Salmon. The pond on the north end of Buckeyeland has really big fish. So you are heading to Orlando....Is it your turn to wear the mouse costume again?
Roy, you think Laz and Buckeye have Post Traumatic Grits Disorder?
Here's some news I got at work that I found interesting (sorry, not train related):
March 16, 2007:
The last American combat veteran of World War I recently passed away, on February 22nd. Howard V. Ramsey was 109 years old and lived in Oregon.
He was a corporal, and arrived in France two months before the war ended in 1918. Ramsey drove trucks and cars, which brought him under enemy artillery fire as he delivered supplies to the front lines or drove an ambulance up to retrieve wounded troops. After the war ended on November 11, 1918, Ramsey spent seven months recovering the bodies of dead American soldiers. Ramsey was born in Colorado, and volunteered for service, as he was too young for the draft. There are still seven American World War I veterans, but none of them went overseas.
Some 4.7 million Americans served during World War I, of whom 53,513 died in combat, 63,195 died from non-combat causes, and 204,002 were wounded. The U.S. did not enter World War I until April 6, 1917. World War I cost about $100 billion, most of which was incurred after the war for care of veterans and interest on the war debt.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Jim ; that's very interesting . Looks like all of World War 1 vets are about gone.
Saw a cute firetruck for the other Jim ( Sturgeon phish ) on ebay ! Just had to tell him about it, it's S-gauge & not too expensive. he's a good seller, I bought my tiedown chain from !!

Hope everyone has a nice night !!

I'm not sure if she's still alive, but I read that there was a living child of a Civil War veteran still on the rolls a few years ago. Her father was very old, maybe in his 70's, when she was born and she got his pension because she was a helpless child. You take it easy, John!
BTW - got my Building O Gauge Layout dvd today from oldies.com. Also, I'm winning a Miller Lite vat car. I've been trying to find train cars/buildings etc that will sort of represent friends of mine on my layout. This one will fit my friend Jeff! (edit:)never mind - got sniped at the last second :(
Hello from the Mile High City,
Sorry...I haven't posted on the coffee pot thread in about a week or so. Work has been hectic with an office restack taking place this last weekend. Then I was sick about 2 weeks ago with fever, sore throat and aches and pains. That knocked me out for about 3 days and I stayed home from work to try to recover quicker....I think that was smart.
The weather here in Denver has been super nice the past couple of days. On Sunday the temps were in the upper 70's. Tomorrow it's going to be cold and wet....but Spring will be back on Saturday with temps back around 70.
I got part of my bench built on Sunday. It's framed and the plywood is down. I'm going to lay the foam this coming weekend. This first bench is 6'x16'. I'll place another bench that will run approx. 6'x10' followed by another 6'x12' essentially making a large horseshoe shaped bench layout.
Well I hope everyone is doing fine.
Jerry
P.S. I too just received my "Building an O Gauge Layout" DVD. Can't wait to watch it.

I have had the tinnitus (constant ringing) for 6 years. For me it was Yes, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, The Who, Pink Floyd, etc. who have killed my high frequency hearing and caused the tinnitus.
Not much going on the train front for me this week. Heading to NYC on a bus trip on Saturday. Anyone have any train related recommendations in Manhattan?

LAZ - I notice Buckeye has not responded. Denial is the first major symptom.
Hey - did one of you guys add TMCC to a Polar Express? Whose upgrade kit did you use?

Hope it is warm this trip. Last one, it frosted. Could go layout by the pool and look at .
Good night.
