Well a couple of us survived anyway. I really think it is spring. I spent most of the afternoon in the greenhouse transplanting egg plant, peppers & flower seedlings. Jean put out the porch furniture and we uncovered the pond filter and took out the heater.
Brent, That sound good to me, but lets wait till the weather improves a little. That was a little nasty yesterday.
The Chief called from the Harrisburg Airport a little while ago. He was waiting for his flight home. He may be home by now.
I sure have a hard time typing with this bad wing. Have to keep editing my posts.

Hi all got the walls finally up in my room now to put putty between the cracks so it don't show then paint with kiltz to primer and seal then from there not sure what color I'll go with but thinking a light blue as in sky color then i'll be able to add clouds no problem. Wife said she would paint a mirral if i wish. of what I wanted as train seen or back ground. The floor will be next going to put in 3/4" ply for a safty factor seeing this room has a couple of small holes in it (bought this place cheap as a fixer upper and so far doing fine. ) Starting to look great in fact. had a cople of health issues during fixing which set me back a little but all is going fine now.
Next time fifedog if you need some back up will send my missle cars with you and you can nail him with farina.
Take care all

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone, great day here; church great and then a surprise birthday party with surprise out of town visitors! Can't ask for much more than that. The tubular track, and two cars were my birthday present, and I'm pretty pleased. I'm also ready to pick-up another Polar Express tender to begin customizing (you know who you are ). All in all a very good day.
My wife asked me if I felt any older, and for the first time in my 32 years, I actually said, "yeah I do, and 32 feels tired." Ran the train for a few minutes tonight and I love the tubular even more every time I run the train. I think when I add the 2 inch insulation board, it will take out the deep resonance coming through the track, that's the next step. Then its saving pennies to pick up switches.

HI GIZ,
Well I guess spring has sprung? Pulled off the netting from the ponds and cleaned all the flower beds in the front of the house. Dumped all that stuff then pruned all the butterfly bushes and dumped that then went for a nice 6 miler in shorts and t shirt, felt good. It got to about 60 today and I could live with this weather all year.
WHOs ON PAGE 18?
Got to check it out.

Visited daughter and SIL yesterday. Went out to lunch where the discussion centered around the doctor visit on Friday. Found out that baby is a boy. After lunch, went to the nearby "Baby's R Us" for a while before stopping at Hobby Lobby for a few minutes. Good Grief! It's amazing how much things have changed since my kids were born. Saw a combination stroller/car seat/carrier for $300.
As we were parking the car when we got back to their house Karen said she heard a train. In a few seconds I also heard a diesel horn. Within a minute, a CSX freight train came roaring by on tracks that are about a 100 yards from the house. Didn't know they lived so close to train tracks. Will make it more fun to visit.

Greg, That reminds me of a time I went to baby sit two of my granddaughters some time ago. The intent was that I would take them to a park down the street. Never did figure out how to unfold the space age stroller so I carried the smaller one. These things have more gadgets than a lot of cars did when our kids were little.
Anyway, enjoy the grandson. Is this the first? My grandmother lived close to RR tracks when I was a kid and it always made the visits more fun.
Regards, Roy
Good morning from New England!
Had a great time at the train show on Saturday. I bought some post war stuff, and an HO Gordon (Thomas) set for my kids. Saturday night, my wife and I got to go out on a date. First time in a long time! We went to a benefit fundraiser and had a great time. Took her out to breakfast Sunday morning. It was just like when we were dating!
My post war 736 arrived Friday night. She's a beauty! Got to give her a good cleaning and lube, then she'll run a whole lot better.
Have a great day, all!

Hi GIZ,
40 and not to bad today carbon copy of yesterday to get to 58? Tomorrow 76?
Looks like the CHIEF on page 18 of CCT has gotten snagged?
All have a good one.
Hi GIZ again,
Something I just came across and to ponder?
A man and his wife were getting a divorce at a localCourt, but the custody of their children posed a problem. The mother jumped to her feet and declared that since She brought the children into this world, she should Retain custody of them. The man also wanted custody of his children, so theJudge asked for his side of the story. After a long moment of silence, the man rose fromHis chair and replied:"Judge, when I put a dollar into a vending machine,And a Pepsi comes out, does the Pepsi belong to me Or to the machine?"Don't laugh, he won.
fifedog wrote:Mornin' boys. Finally got the wall spackle out of my system...but I'm a better lad for the experience. All kidding aside, had a great time up in Harrisburg. The Chief is much smaller than on his avatar, but a soft-spoken gentleman through and through. Glad I could get you guys over to the hallowed ground at Rockville Bridge. Perhaps after the raid, we should rename it Roseyville Bridge... By the way, that CN 2598 (DASH9-44CW) finally took off at 1636 hours.
Good morning all,
It is sunny and warm in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s to 80s today! I love global warming. I have been busy with the granddaughter this weekend as my wife and I kept her overnight for the first time. I did get to go over to my dad's and we watched the IRL race Saturday night. The best the good guys did was 11th. I hope the dining car made it to "Points East" the last couple of days. I will have to read the rest of the postings later. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Buckeye,
Here is the RAF!
Much prettier and won't hurt anyone.
(Hope there's no one at home on this site?).

88 - You forget, I still shoot with K64. Nice posting of that UP ballast train;that was cool.
In answer to the post on Mrs. 88, Mrs. fifedog totally understands what she is doing..."it's a woman thing". "She saw what she liked, and what if it's not there in a month or two...?"
rtraincollecter - Farina---? You want me to throw dog chow at him?
Laz57 - I am sure General Buckeye is formulating a strategy to see that justice is served for the stunning defeat on the shores of the Susquehanna. Actually, we were standing close enough to the Susquehanna I coulda nudged the invaider in...
FIFE, we know its gonna be a good one with the INIVATOR OF MADNESS behind it?
Hey Laz,
How did you make out with your K-Line Berk? Is it fixed?
JIM,
Yes kind a? I got the EOB from Train America Studios and put it in and got my chuff working good but now the smoke unit is burnt out. It just seems that it goes from one thing to the next. Oh well just going to run it with no smoke for a while. At York I'll get a few smoke elements and put it in.
Morning all,
Running a little late today, got to get going to the fitness center.
Did finish installing passengers in one of the dome cars, both levels, now to put it back together. Only 6 more cars to go.
Looks like the grass is starting to green up, need to give the roses the spring pruning and do some cleanup of winter debris.
Where is Chuck this morning?
Take care,
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 67 degrees. Going up to 78 today. Maybe we'll get a little sunshine.
Late posting today. We are moving all the things in the kitchen. Guys will be here soon, to put down the new kitchen carpeting. A lot of work. Wife finished painting the walls. Should look great when all is done. Nothing new on the train subject. I will be busy most of today.
Dining Car was here. Ate breakfast. I guess it got to " points west " early.
Where's Buckeye ???
Chuck
Y'all have a great Monday.

BRENT - Mrs. Fifedog's assessment is correct. Also, it's called organization and the Scout motto of "Be Prepared." AND....When you do get ready to move, she won't have time to be out doing all that shopping. Sounds like she's right on track!
DOUG - have read a few of those translated directions. They are hilarious but often frustrating!

Greetings and salutes from the Bluegrass!
63 degrees right now, expected highs in the 80's we might break a record here today, we came close yesterday but fell short a degree or two.
Still pretty excited about my new track, I love how much quieter the tubular is and how versatile the track is over the ballasted track. CTT had a nice article on cutting the stuff in order to customize certain pieces, found that pretty interesting, but father said that the article was more work, and all that really needed to be done was to secure the rails. He uses a piece of 2x4 that has 3 groves cut in it with a radial arm saw, he then lays the whole piece in there and can cut all three rails at the same time with no movement.
I also found a picture that shows the detail level that I want to have on my layout. It's not quite Post-war, but then not High-rail either, its a nice compromise between the two styles. I don't know if there is a name for this in-between style, but I like it and I think it will work nicely with a Kentucky Bluegrass rolling hills landscape.
BTW; thanks Scott, I'm looking forward to receiving that Pole Ex tender; it'll soon have "Pere Marquette" written all over it!
Well, it is almost the end of the morning, so I will just wish everyone a great day. It was HOT yesterday as we took the kids to the amusement park. Hoverring around 90 the last few days. Even with sun screen, we got a little burned.
ATS, Happy birthday. Sorry it is a day late, I had trouble getting the computer to work....very frustrating sometimes.
I am not sure the north can recover from the defeat suffered over the weekend. Next thing you know, they will be eating Collard Greens and Chitlins.
Not any train time this weekend. Anyway, have to head in, I am on call and it will be a long week as one of the guys is out in the woods acting like a turkey. I get to see more in my own yard than he does hunting.

Morning all. ATSJer, belated travleing and all, I missed it. Would you believe I slept until 10 AM. Been sleeping with one eye open while up Nawth [never can trust Yanks]. We will now referr to the GREAT BATTLE AT HARRISBURG as a REBS victory. When I went to the restaurant, talked to the manager, handed him the big bag of GRITS, offered to pay him, he busted out laughing and said, "I'll do it free!" [BTW: most of my "buddy" reps went to Doc's for steaks that night. They say the steaks are great]
Great trip and great visit. Got to see NS and CN all at one place. Fife, thanks for the tour. Found out I would not have to drive far from where I was staying to gt to that location [we went back on I 81]. Next trip up, guess where I will go?
Got to get moving. Slept too late. Have a good one.

Just got a call from the carpet layer. Can't make it until Friday. Now we have to put back the kitchen. It's gonna be one of those days.
