Our morning paper had an article about the passing of the last serviving female veteran of WWI. Don't recall the name.
Good afternoon all,
Brent, I was about to ask why you are painting a house that is already sold, but you cleared that up for me.
Dep, Welcome back, sorry it had to be in the middle of the nignt.
Dr. John, That MTH 2-8-0 is a nice little engine, I have the freight version, only difference is the crew talk.
Jim, Great picture.
Don, This Saturday we are going to the large scale train show at York & do a little recon on the traffic situation and check out an alternate route I have in mind for Wednesday morning when we will be traveling to York durring rush hour.
Doing some cleaning and trash removal in the basement, found a few things that I had bought nad haven't seen since.
I need to make a few more display stands for the book cases.
Take care,
fifedog
The Chief of course, is always elegant, eloquent and efusive while dressed in any sort of apparel including his "Grits Chef" outfit.
Don
I think you are right regarding pshaw!
Our local grist miller back in the '30s, Ab Kaiser, was quoted as saying, "aw pshaw" when he lost three fingers of his hand to a drive belt/mandrel. Probably was milling corn grits, but we never did know if they found the fingers or whether they were "packaged" for grits distribution to Yankeeland.
p.s: no siding to the Mill. they just stopped on the A&Y main and rolled handcarts up a ramp trackside to load sacks of stock feed, flour, corn meal and----grits of course!

Greetings from the Bluegrass!!!
Well a little soggy here today, but not as bad as yesterday. Last night I had the opportunity to attend a lecture by the author Jim Wallis who wrote Blatantly Religious and Political Material click at own risk. It was a great lecture, he also spoke at our Seminary chapel today, and delivered another bang up job. Anyways, I've got some reading to do today, tonight, and tomorrow, but I wanted to stop in for a minute.
BTW thank you Scott, the Polar Express tender arrived today, and it looks and works great. I will post pics as soon as I transfer the lease to Pere Marquette.

Well, you confirmed that it was an S scale firetruck Jim !! Looks good on your layout ! Yes, I'm always on the look out for S cars & motorcycles for you since you mentioned how hard they are to find a while back. BTW, I have the MTH motorcycles & if you get a chance, check them out as they look like they just might work with your layout, not sure.
Wow, some nice pictures of The Chief !! Looks like the pendulum swung back in a battle win for the North !! I knew Buckeye had a new battle plan !!
Thanks, John
Good afternoon everyone,
It was a good day here. Nothing went wrong, and I hope it continues like this for the rest of the day. Lots of good grades, but one that did upset me, a 78 in history. I got 50 out of 40 for the essays ( I did the fifth one for extra credit) but I did horrible on the scantron. I wasn't too happy, but I got over it.
It's going to be a good day tomorrow, because York is here. John, I can't wait to meet you there. I'll try to get you to the dark side
Talk to you all later.
OH MY Them pictures of the Chief remind me that they just had a anniversary for the filming of "Deliverance". Hey Chief, love ya man, but those pictures are starting to worry me.

Dr. John, I replied that to Buckeye's comment because only a bunch of GRITS raided D--- Yankees would believe it. Well, you can tell Ohizoians anything and they will believe it. The mouthy one from New England is really in for it the next visit I make in his "happy" town.
Sunny and beautiful in Orlando. Eat your hearts out Yanks. I'm sending you bad rains and then some frost. Told you, don't mess with Mother Nature and the Chief.
Had all you can eat seafood buffet for lunch. Off to the room. Watch TV and eat microwave popcorn. [Store event is not until tomorrow at noon. Sold some chargers already.]

You know saying you dated someone is different than saying you went on a date with someone, so my guess is you were really drunk for quite some time. So, which Fraternity were you pledging when this took place?
Hello all,
Busy day today in the office. Trying to cram all this week and two days next weeks worth of work before a little time off. The Fiance and I are heading down to Central Texas to visit my parents for Easter. Driving down so that I can bring back my childhood Lionel trains. Woohoo....I can't wait to see them again. Oh...I also can't wait to see my parents It's a long drive....but the Sirius radio helps make the long boring stretch through Kansas and OK a little easier.
This morning we woke up to about 5 inches of snow. Keep in mind that our high on Sunday was in the low 70's and the forecast temp for this coming weekend is back in the mid 60's. I won't say we don't need the moisture...I just like it to fall in the form of rain. I'm just over the snow.
Got my May issue of CTT today. Also received a couple of beautiful boxcars I won on ebay. Anyway...I'm going to go run my train for a little while. Talk to you all later on.

I just hope I am able to get these images out of my head before I go to bed tonight. This is the kinda stuff nightmares are made of. Sorry Chief, the tights just don't fit the image that we have had for you. Hope everyone gets plenty of sleep and has a happy Friday eve.
Need to get the lawn mowed, but it rains a little every day - Oh well! I'll need a machette at this rate. In the 70's every day and seems like maybe we won't get that last ice storm we usually get after my wife's birthday. No time for trains this week so far, maybe Saturday....
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good morning from the mouthy one in New England!
Supposed to be a very nice day here weather-wise, and on into the weekend.
We ran our Santa Fe El Capitan set last night after a good track cleaning.
Beakfast with the Easter bunny tomorrow morning! Can't wait...
Hey, all you lucky guys going to York. Be on the lookout for a 2034 shell in nice condition. By nice, I mean minimal scratches and both marker lights present.
Have a nice day, everyone.
Chuck, hang in there. Each day will be a little easier than the day before.
Modeling the Baltimore waterfront in HO scale
Good morning all,
It is cooler and cloudy in SE Indiana but temps are supposed to rise to the lower 70s today. Boy, you sign off here for a couple of hours and you miss a lot. The pictures of the Chief are an absolute riot, and the comments are great as well. Tmcc man, good luck at your train meet. It was another busy night at the home front. Worked on the mowers, got gas for the car, did weights at the YMCA, met with a program person at the Y to set up my schedule for reffing some soccer games and mentoring one of the teams. The pay is not great, but they deduct my membership dues off the bill so I get a little "train" money as well. I figure I am going to spend an hour there any way so I might as well get paid for it. Tonight is Lucas' drama club show, and maybe I will trim trees this weekend, weather permitting. Time for the dining car to head to "Points East". Hopefully everybody there is getting their appetite back. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
Good Morning, Jim....You are absolutely right.
It's a sunny morning of a cool 37 degrees. Going up to 72 today. Mostly sunny.
Today, they are going to put down the new kitchen carpeting. I will believe it, when I see it. Have to move a few things, but nothing heavy. I will be glad when this is over with. Wife is excited about getting a better carpet, down in the kitchen. Old one is too light colored.
I have not done anything o the layout lately. Haven't had the interest. I guess that will pass and I'll be down there working. I need some quiet time to myself. That's a good place for it.
I had a nice call from Chief last evening. It was good to talk to him.
All aboard for the Dining Car. I need to eat a good breakfast. I will save some for " points west ".
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Good Morning Y'all,
In the process of getting the kids fed. Can be quite the chore. We have DIY on with Bob Villa. Kids seem to love the building shows. Perhaps I can use this for future help with the layout. Now, if I could just get them up to speed with wiring, I will be set.
Hope everyone has a great day, and please Chief, wear some respectable clothes.
Hellooo from Cloudy & windy Florida.....(wonder if its like this in O-Town?)
I finally got 3 loops running, had my new CNJ BEEP with the Sunoco tankers & CNJ caboose, my NYC Flyer with the appropriate NYC consist. Likewise the Pennsy Flyer with some of the PRR box cars & passenger cars. Using my CW80 & KW, all 3 run pretty good. The fastrack is nice, but I may throw in some tubular track. Fastrack is VERRRY 'spensive.
I gotta line on a TMMC C&O engine & tender for $300. It was purchased and put away, then the gentleman died. my LHS is getting it for me. So, we'll see what we'll see.
If I can get my camera running I may show up on the Sunday Photos.
'til later
Rich
Mornin' boys. Mornin' Miss White. Sunny & cooler today in the Mid-Atlantic region. Just about coughed up a lung after catching up on some of these posts of the past 24...
88 - Mrs. fifedog is checking up on your posts about your EVERLOVING. We should keep them separated at all costs...emphasis on CO$T...
Good Morning from the Bluegrass!!!
Lots of reading to do here today, more blatantly political/religious material. Good stuff though, but since he's from a different tradition I have to decipher half of what he's saying in order to figure out implications and all that good stuff. I was up 'til 3am reading it, and I ate so many jelly beans that I think I'm gonna be sick. BTW, those mixed with Diet Mt. Dew equals .
Got a lot of running on the schedule today, might run the PE before I leave in order to get my daily fix.
