Mike,

I too am concerned about you.  Sure hope you are able to hold it together.  You are an important part of this forum, and no doubt you have been through a lot.  But, one of the big advantages of this forum is the help and genuine caring and concerns the guys here provide.  Also, don't cut yourself short you have provided so much for all the young people you have helped and guided through the Soccer programs, you are indeed needed

Fife really hit the spot on the head with his comment.......

cheapclassics - No need to walk alone, when so many are willing to walk with you.

Also as Brutus advised,   "Don't give up man, go see your doctor and keep trying - I know this is overwhelming, but just putting one foot in front of the other is all any of us can ever do.  Many prayers for you my friend."

As most of you know, I get carried away at times with my rambling, but like Forrest Gump professed, When life sometimes gives you lemons, you just have to make lemonade.  I am definitely NOT trying to make lite of your situation, but it IS our responsibility to just keep moving forward.  And most importantly, don't forget we are ALL pulling for you!

Good morning all,

Mike C., Not sure what your ailment is as I miss some of the post but I include my prayers with all the others for a positive outcome for you  Hang in there buddy.  We all have a cross to bear but mine seems a little lighter after hearing about yours.  The Lord be with you.

V8, glad you had a good solution to the pit bull problem.  Too bad you had to go through so much to get it resolved.

Took another walk through the park this morning to take advantage of the shade trees.  Man! I have never seen it so dry over there.  Large areas that are completely without any grass left.  Looks like a chicken yard.  Concerts in the summer have destroyed the grass.  Usual meeting of the 12 step group did not show up in the park for some reason today at least by the time we left.  They had a lookout there but nobody else.  Nice not to have to walk through the smokers.  Maybe somebody blew the whistle on them.  They have no smoking signs in the park.

#2 son will go to North Carolina and Virginia next week to visit one of my sisters in Jacksonville and then on to Suffolk, Virginia to visit another.  Both of them have terminal cancer.  Wish I could go too.

Had a nice talk with our buddy Don B. yesterday.  Hang in there Don!

later,

Ray

Mike C. you can't leave.  Who am I going to fight with about Hockey being an un-American sport?  Serious.  This is your support team.  Nothing is too bad that you can not share.  If noting else, email one or two of us.  Even better, call one or to of us and talk.  We are with you all the way.

Now for good news.  Think guy is really serious over lake house.  Also, friend in real estate called with prospective restaurants for Roseyville. Thumbs Up

Sold my pride and joy this AM.  My Ranger bass boat.  Sold it to my best friend at the lake.  Still get to use it but he will use it more as he is retired and lives there.  When I fished it, he always went with me.  Why I sold it to him.  He will baby it like I have done.

Later.

Mike I'm involved with a church in VA. and I shared your post with the minister of that church who I am good Friends with you have been added to their prayer chain. You have more pulling for you than you realize  so please try to pull for yourself and don't give up we want you here and enjoy you being here. Go talk with your doctor also tell him of your disappointment and cost it caused by them not sharing your vitals for your Blood Sugar ( was going to put BS but that just didn't work with your last post) And also your Blood Pressure and I believe like you that your Blood Pressure was way up because of the stress you where under. Please try to keep posting when you can you have more support here than you really realize. I personally found that out when I thought I was about to die because of my heart condition but later found out that it wasn't as bad as I thought but my point here was the support from these guys and also the prayers all these guys gave me when I needed a job and it came thru also more support these guys gave me. So please let us give you support and help you through what ever is really going on.

Mike, God Bless, and your choice to post or not is yours, It is understood by many of us who have passed through here.

You have been through so much! It is your time to decided how you want to deal with what is going on. I will not advise.

Glad to hear FifePup is okay too - wow, so much stuff going on with people lately.  I guess we are getting older and so are our friends and families.  Prayers out for everyone.

Chewy suddenly got very sick and we lost her back in early June.  She was born with a bad heart and when we got her they said she would only live a few years at best.  She made 9 years.  Kids are back to school today so we will probably wait to get a new dog for a while yet.

Thanks to SJ and RT for telling me about these events here.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill.......

It is a cool 50 degrees. Going up to a sunny 72 today.

Today is a busy day. Wife is running errands and I am doing chores. I will be busy until lunch. Hope to get a nice nap this afternoon.

Cheerios for breakfast on the dining car.

KEV.......I want you to know that I really appreciate all the prayers from you guys in the past for me. I went thru a few years when I didn't think I would make it. Today, I get around on a walker and I can drive short distances. I walk down the basement stairs to the train room ok, and I can do chores around the house, to help the wife. I really feel a bond with you guys, not only with trains, but as friends.  Thank You.

Good afternoon all,

Chief, Sounds like you have a buyer for the lake house.  Was counting on a ride in that ranger though and an introduction to Bass fishing.  Will just have to go back to float tubes now I guess.  BTW, got my first advertising in the mail from nearest to us Bass Pro Shop.  We have one in Cucamonga a few miles from here.  Need to see it just out of curiosity.  They advertise all kinds of guns but I'm not a hunter but would like to check out their fishing stuff.  I noticed they had some aluminum jon boats at a reasonable price some of which would even fit on top of your car.  Would love to have a little boat to putt around in but I fear I don't even have time for that anymore.

Mike C., good advice from the Chief.  Guys on here are a good support group.  I know they care about me.  At my age, all my friends are either dead of have moved away so it's nice to have these guys at least.

Have a good weekend all,

Ray

Morning.  I'm old and tired. Crying  A long day at the farm and in the woods.  Left at 7 AM and got in at 9:30 last night.

Idiots that own a track of timber next to mine have had it cut again.  Had just been thinned three years ago.  Was starting to grow good.  Been "murdered".  Shame how timber buyers will talk folks into selling timber when it is not ready to cut.  Now it has trees but not many.  Will grow up a mess.  Guess someone needed money bad.

Very distant cousins  of ours have also sold there land on the other side of mine.  Talked to one of them a year ago and she was telling me how proud she was of the family land.  Humm.  Think it may be for the best.  The new owner had Posted it and signed it.  Keep the illegal hunters out [which is a problem there].

All this work.  Hope it pays off during deer season.

Prayers for Mike C.

Rest of yuz giz, hang in there.  [That is LAZ's language Wink]

Afternoon All.

Heat & humidity are back, ugh.

Good day at the museum yesterday, DCS gremlins were prevalent most of the day, Thank goodness I was running TMCC, although I did have a couple of traction tire blowouts Grumpy on the Challenger. I invested in a CAB-1L shortly after they were introduced to use at the museum, they are so much better than their predecessor. Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Watching an interesting show on PBS while checking in, "Trains Around North America". Pretty cool program, really liked the segment on the Columbia Star dinner train.

Fife, Glad to hear that fifepup came thru unscathed what could have been much worse. Learning experience we hope. Like most of our kids they will someday realize that Mom & Dad really are smarter than they originally thought.

Chief, Lakehouse gone ! Oh well, I guess the left coasters won't have a place to throw a party should we all make it to York one of these days. Sigh

Mike, Prayers for you and the family.

Brutus, Sorry to about Chewey.

Gotto go, the BetterHalf ain't feeling well. Time to check and see how she's doing and what she might like for supper.

P.S. Where's Laz ???????

I ate the whole thing!!!!!  Plop plop fizz fizz [Alka Seltzer].  Wifey took me to new eating place [for me] after I took her shopping in Selma/Smithfield NC [big outlet area and JR's].  Robin's Nest.  Buffett.  Fried chicken [Southern style, 4 pieces], eastern NC bar-be-que, slaw, fish, shrimp [two big helpings], 2 deviled crabs, [other meats I didn't eat], all the Southern style veggies [I ate only a bowl of butterbeans, lima beans to you Yanks] and chicken pastry.  Plenty of sweet ice tea with lemon.

Now I will put on my "comfy clothes" [as the Wifey calls them] and slippers.

Later

PS: Fifey, at JR's I started to buy you a yard flag.  Had a blue sailboat.  Read, RED NECK YACHT.

Evening all!

Chuck - nice post

Got a bit of rain this afternoon.

Nice weather and enjoying the weekend so far. Drainage project went well yesterday.

Chief - no lake house and no boat. What will you do with all the time?

Brutus - so sorry about Chewey. Our mutt is pushing 15. Seems to be doing ok but in the last couple of weeks  there have been a couple of times it seems her back legs collapsed. Keeping a watchful eye on that.

Have a great evening all!

Hey Brent/88 - I guess you are a moderator here.  Can you go in and change my user name to Gut?  That would be awesome.  Not much going on here - worked OT, picked up a small desktop computer for my videos as it was half the price of the laptop.  Hannah's laptop is crashing from heat so the heatsinks failed.  It was a very cheap one I bought for travel years ago - the first year vista came out - so it lasted a good while for a laptop.  We'll pass the other laptops around and she and my son will both have "newer" machines.  Got an HP with AMD and Radeon (etc).  8GB ram and 2TB HDD for $499 on sale.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Mike - I'll keep you in my prayers.  Keep plugging.

Brutus - good to hear from you.  Sorry to hear about Chewy.  Dogs is people too.....

We will have another train day on Sept. 13 at the KATY Depot here in Sedalia.  I know a lot of you folks on the forum don't live too far away.  Would be great to see some of you.  I'm planning on having a 9' by 18' layout set up with maybe a one or two smaller loops in the middle.  The smaller loops will be on a TPC 400, while the big outer loop will be on my Legacy.  Send me a PM if you are able to attend and want to bring something to run.

We've been oiling the economy the last couple of days.  We bought a set of loppers at the State Fair that can cut through a 2" diameter limb like butter using a ratchet system.  Got one of those spicy Italian sausage sandwiches along the midway too.  Those things are so good, I can only stand having one a year. We stopped at the wine shop today and bought a case of assorted white wines, since the white section of our wine cooler was empty.  We also went to a 'Dutch' bulk food store a couple of towns east and bought a bunch of weird baking supplies (almond flour, coconut oil, etc.) for my wife's paleo diet.

I spent the afternoon patching up my front porch steps with a Locktite product called Magnacrete.  Neat stuff.  It is a resin and sand mix that uses an activator instead of water.  This stuff sets up in about 15 minutes, and sticks to the existing concrete much better than standard concrete or mortar.

For lunch today, we stopped at a small Mexican store here in town that has a lunch counter.  We got paposa's.  They were really good - as good as what we had in  El Salvador  on a trip a number of years back.

All for now.

Mornin' boys.  Filtered sun and 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Pretty weekend.  Wifey and I were invited to our best man's place in York County yesterday.  We had spare time, so we cruised up to Hanover, PA, and found Toy Trains Unlimited (CTT advertiser).  The place is a treasure chest of O-gauge (and Flyer), old and new.  Picked up a 19th century B&O gon, and a Harley Davidson crane car for Grandson.  Then we drove around Codorus Creek, which is a pretty area.  Was hoping to spot YORK 17, but must've been too late.  Then we spent a wonderful evening with our friends.
