Mornin' boys.  Overcast and 71 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Firemen's parade tonight, then vacation starts.  Weather has been perfect in July...watch out this winter.

Greenberg Show in Timonium this weekend.  Not sure if I'm going though.  Wifey says I need to tighten my belt.  Not sure if she's speaking metaphorically or actually.

Good Morning Guys, 74, Muggy, waiting for the next round of rain. It is official, Johnny is now a member of the Berkeley Township Police Department. The swearing in ceremony was nice. We took the family and friends that were there to the Forked River German Butcher for lunch which was good as always. He got his uniforms for the Academy, which are khaki and I told him that he looks like Barney Fife in it! So his rank is Recruit and after the Academy he will be a Patrolman. Mike: Thanks for starting a new Pot! Fife: Enjoy the Vacation. Almost 39 weeks to go! I got the same talk about tightening my belt also. Must be because we are loosing weight! RT: Yes, Bill paying time. Chuck: You can't beat a good afternoon nap. Doug DG: Yes, I am glad Johnny is in Berkeley Twp., NJ. I know what you mean. This Township is 56 sq. mi. including water, they patrol the Bay, Rivers, etc., with a population of 41,000. It stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pine Barrens. A very diverse population that varies by the seasons. "Snooki" from MTV's Jersey Shore is living in the Pelican Island section of the Township. That is next to Seaside Heights on the Southwest Side. They are busy there in the summer. lol Enjoy the Day! John

Hudson - Once again, congrats on the new recruit.  Certainly wouldn't want to start the job all over again, not that my agency would even give me the nod...

Hello there,

Quick check in.

The good news is…..Mrs has a job for this coming school year! After her classroom was taken over by the school district we were pretty sure she would but not certain.

We went to see Lee Greenwood and the Oak Ridge Boys at the Clearfield County Fair Tuesday night. Great Show!!!!!!!

Farming is still tough with the weather. Hard to get 2 or 3 days in a row to dry hay. Combined rye and didn’t get close to what was expected. Lots of stalk but the heads were blind. My theory is cool damp slowed pollination.  Garden is growing but the relatively cool weather is holding it back

New grandbaby is doing well

Bset get busy

Prayers for those in need

Good afternoon all,

Banks, nice photo of the new grandbaby.  Congratulations!

Hudson John,  would appreciate it if you mentioned the problem I have with the Santa Fe Northern when you see Mike Wolf.  Not holding my breath though.

My youngest son is having his 50th birthday today.  Wow!  that doesn't make me feel any younger either.

Woke up with sore throat today for second day in a row.  Think I got it from my son who had it a few days ago.  I have been sleeping in a room with an opening to the outside air for swamp cooler but I turn that off at night.  Feels more like a virus than suffering from night air.

V8 Dennis, there is another site called vpike.com that has been around for a long time showing peoples houses etc.  I was able to take a tour down the street where I grew up back in Virginia.  Kind of nice for nostalgia.

Went to doctor on Tuesday and he says I have early stages of diabetes now so I have started a new diet and he wants me to lose at least 10 lbs to start with.  Back on low carb diet again.

later,

Ray

Thanks Mike for getting the new Pot going.  Better a Yankee than that Carpetbagger in SC. Whistling

Congrats to all.  John and his son.  Banks and his good looking crew.

Chuck, glad to see you post/  If you hadn't, I'd been calling.

Up early with Fred coming by.  We have been re-securing Parker's Pond.  What a mess.  Folks been driving around the cables put up by the bad guy [who has not done a thing since he "ran" me off].  Was told by Raleigh Sewer Supv., last time he was down there, three cars full of folks fishing.  We are having to walk in as path has now grown up in the last month since Raleigh mowed the easement.  Fred and I are on "patrol" now and armed.

Raining and windy.

Hope all have a great weekend.

Good evening all,

Glad I could get August started.   First time in 11 years I had pole position.  Maybe that will bode well for the weekend as Sato was 3rd quick for AJ in the second practice session today at Mid-Ohio.  Weather may complicate the weekend, but the wife and I really look forward to this event.  It is 3 days away from the madhouse of normal life.   Work was another zoo today, but left at the end of the day with most of the work caught up.  Mowed the yard tonight going the across the yard rather than up and down.  This is the slower approach, but still got it done in an hour and a half.  Had time and energy to do some grass trimming and also along the former neighbor's tree line.  Still no sign of people moving in to a supposedly sold house.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Ran trains with Youngest of Hunters Haven this afternoon.  We broke down the big long NS coal train.  Made a smaller coal drag.  Ran the Big Boy.  Was really raining today.  Watched Hell on Wheels tonight.

Sleep tight.

Morning all nothing planned for today.  77 and calling for thunderstorms today a high of 85 is predicted Have a good sunday talk to you all later

Morning all!

Been very busy for the past week or so. Have had some beautiful weather the past week, 80's which as rare as hens teeth here. Also had enough rain to bring some of the yard back.

Possible rain today for NASCAR Pocono race.

Had an unusual failure on our '09 Tahoe. Differential ring and pinion gears failed. I knew the moan/whirring gear mesh sound well from tearing up gears in my 68 Vette many moons ago. Covered by my super extended warranty so no cost to me. Chevy has been really good here in recent years with free loaner cars. Replaced tires and got it detailed at the same time. Chevy also price matches tires so that worked well. One stop shopping.

TX Rangers living in the basement this season. Huge fall from making the Series a couple of years ago. Spending way too much money on a few "stars" not delivering to their pay grade.

Hudson John. Beatle's polka - most excellent!

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

V8, same situation over here.  A little rain that just leaves spots all over the cars.  Humidity still high.

Had to take wife to ER last night about 12:30AM.  She woke me up saying she was having trouble wheezing or something.  They kept her there about 4 hours.  Ran EKG, chest XRay, Blood test, IV with medication then prescribed more stuff from the drug store.  Picked up this morning.  One medication was an emergency inhaler with a $45 co pay with medicare part D.  Other stuff was only $6 each.  They said it might be a virus but covered all the bases.  She is feeling better this morning but I still have the same crud with sore throat and not sleeping well.  Will see doctor Monday if things don't clear up.  I think we both caught whatever my son had last week.

We were suppose to have a birthday dinner for my youngest son today but postponed until next week end.

later,

Ray

Mornin' boys.  Clearing and 68 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Honey-do list awaits.  Did go both days to the Greenberg show (I was bored).  Took grandson on Saturday, and he "scored" a Thomas wooden Flying Scot, and I picked up a few sections of Fastrack.  Next day (when i had more time to look) I picked up a half dozen VW Rabbits, which are the perfect fit for Lionel's 70's era auto racks.  And much to Wifey's chagrin, I picked up Christmas Train Spectacular.

SPMan - Hope you and Mrs are feeling better soon.

Good morning team,

SPMan - ditto

Hudson John - great news for your son.

October gettin closer -got York flyer in mail last week. Already registered.

Fife - Christmas Train Spectacular? Does that feature the Rockettes?

Thinking about picking up a Lionchief+ set for shows. Easier control for little ones to use. I really like the new CAB-1L so will be using that also.

Have bad traffic for my morning commute. Dog is sleeping in the hallway. Will have to step over her to get into office.
