Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work.  Only one other person in our section was there (of course, it had to be the most annoying one, but still mostly quiet).  Got some work done as well.   Rained again very hard for a bit at home.  Still muggy.  Supposed to clear up and be nice from Wednesday on.   Got pre-registerred for the procedure so all I have to do now is show up.  Tomorrow will be busy at work.   Hang in there, Don B.  You and Kay have been thru the mill.   Fifedog, I have heard of that store.  Fortunately the girls did not shop there while growing up.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evenin' All!

Too busy for my own good, something has to give. Did some early Christmas shopping for Patrick and picked up a G scale Thomas train set. Never been used. VERY tempted to run it for awhile.

Roy - Looks like you can't get a break with the weather. I don't think I could get use to your temps. While visiting family in Florida (springtime) it was still too hot for me.

Don - Good news on Kay! Don't let Fife or RT get you down, Fife might be a bit jealous, He thinks he would look cool on his yachtette on a peg leg!

Later............

Brent and 8n,

If you're running IE, try toggling Compatibility View.  It's in the Tools menu.  If the Tools menu isn't visible, right click in the nearby area and make sure Menu bar is checked.

 me.

The NASCAR race barring the delays was one of the best in years. AJ and Ambrose banging into each other around that road course was amazing. Too bad about that Stewart dirt track incident.

Good morning,

It was a good race Roy,

Boy the media is really going after Tony Stewart on that racing accident.  I have a feeling it will kill his racing career like when Ricky Rudd hit and killed that pit crew member. He did not last long after that.  Tongue Tied Shame that kid should of not got out of that car and then ran onto the dark area of that track.

To bad about Robbin Williams too. Sad

Bonjour mon amis. Back from 2 weeks in France for work. I got to do train stuff - including riding the TGV and every Paris Metro line just for fun. Also got to search for trains in flea markets and even found a gigantic train store in Chatillon but it was closed for lunch! Kinda glad to be back...

Guess will staple my green carpet to the second level to give me some grass up there Smile then I can lay my oval of track and wire it up. then start working on the hills coming down from the second level to the main level. have it planned out in my head about 75% its the last 25% I'm still working on and it will come together once I get the first 75% done lol.

Well guess that's about it for this morning ( most afternoon lol )

Good morning all,

Still trying to make sense of the Robin Williams tragedy.  There is no logical expanation.  Depression can overcome anyone I suppose.  He had all the advantages growing up and a very successful career.  But it only shows that success and money are no gaurantee.  RIP Mork.Angel

Had a good breakfast with hardly any carbs but ate everything else.  Got to watch the calories too.

Short walk this morning as wife was having neck pains (not me) so we cut it short.  She has recurring pain from a cervical disc in the neck.  Been to doctors but no cure.  Just takes Tylenol and wears a neck collar some.

Have a good day all,

Ray

Pouring rain.  Was beating down one time.  What we need.  More rain.  Better than drought though.  Early to rise tomorrow AM.  Off to get gate and fence for back of Parker's pond easement.  Fred is paying. Surprise

RedfireS197 - thanks for the tip.  Looks like everything is back to normal.

Let's try a paragraph break, just to make sure it works.  Mowed the lawn for the first time in a month.  That will probably be good for the next couple of weeks.  It is cooler than normal here.  Highs this week are around 80.  It is usually in the high 90's and low 100's during State Fair week.

All for now.

Good evening all,

Another sad day.  Robin Williams and now Lauren Bacall.  On a brighter note, got to give Victory drinks to soccer kids.  They always seem to appreciate them.  Got one set of grandkid's games schedule.   Too many games, too little me.  My favorite time of the year next to May.   I pulled a fast one on the pain at work.  When I left tonight, I said I would see everybody on Monday.  All she could do is say, "What, what???"  It was priceless.  Outside the world's problems, it was a good day.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Partly sunny & 70 here in the mid-Atlantic region.  Back to work tonight.  It was an ok vacation until fifepup crashed his car early yesterday.  His fault.  Everyone ok.  Wouldn't heed Dad's advice, so all on him.

Aloha. Still sleepwalking a bit. Survived class last night by giving out a lot of assignments. My mind and body thought it was 2 am. Smile Glad Fifepup is unhurt. Those situations sure are frustrating.  Testing to see if image link works:  . oqKBQb

Afternoon all.  Back easement is now fenced [instead of cable like before] and gated.  Pond is all locked up as far as vehicles go.

Fifey, sorry man.

Off to the lake house and meet prospective buyer.  Mow and mow there.

Later.

Good morning all,

Took short walk by myself this morning as wife still having neck pain.  Might try accupuncture next.

Chief, did I read correctly that you were selling the lake house?  Sometimes you don't get enough use out of things like that to justify the cost.  Anyway, hope it works out for your satisfaction.

Got a call from my brother in Virginia before my walk to get update on us.  We talked or about an hour.  Thats called a few minutes in the South. He has diabetes too.  Had  his for many years.  New to me though.

later,

Ray

Hello all

Back up at work for summer maintenance. We have been in the clouds w/ rain the last couple of days.

Been working w/ the trolley group on my days off. Good bunch of guys there. Will post some pics when I remember to take the cameraStick out tongue

Had some fun coming home from the last Corvair get together. Two of the rocker arm nuts backed off and was running on 4 for a bit. One replacement rocker arm, two pushrods, and two locknuts later we were back on the road.

Very sad to hear about Robin Williams. I know he struggled w/ depression and addiction for some time.

Fife - glad the son was unhurt. Maybe you should get him in on HudsonJohn's body shop class:)

Don - bummer on the additional surgery, hang in there buddy!

Good evening all,

Today was a very bad day.   My medical procedure was cancelled because my blood sugar and blood pressure were too high.   Stupid staff at doctor's office neglected to let him know what the blood sugar was from tests ran 2 weeks ago.  That was one red flag that could have prevented me from wasting a day and $2K+ in hospital billing today.   Then after they told me how high the blood sugar was, they took my blood pressure.  Of course it was higher than a cat's back!!!  Then they had the unmitigated gall to state that if I saw a family practice doc that all the numbers could be down in a week or two so they could do the procedure.   Never BS a BSer!!!  My wife has been treating her blood sugar for years (and it is better) and she is not close enough yet to meet their standards.  How stupid do they think I am????

I am writing this note to say goodbye.   I am not sure if my wife would know how to post on here, so I am not going to pretend all is fine.  It has been a pleasure to have chatted with all of you over the years, but I need to spend whatever time I have left making arrangements and settling things.   Good night and may the Good Lord look after all of you.

Keep on training,

Evening all.

Cooler here - it is a good thing - but like CA we need rain.

Mike C - good luck with whatever you are dealing with

KEV I fear for Tony Stewarts career also. He went from being a bad boy to a really good guy. Unfortunately the media is dredging up the past.

V8 - glad to hear you finally got a good outcome.

Fife - I hear our kids will not realize we have good advice until their late 30's. Glad he is ok.

Chief selling the lake house????

Regards, Roy

Mornin' boys.  Mostly cloudy & 70 here in the mid-Atlantic region.  Grandson is here making things better.  He's "discovering" the old wooden "G" sized train we've had.  It's Mennonite built, and really has him occupied.  Had to pick up my SIG2340 the agency "let" me buy before retirement, this morning.  37 weeks...

Chief - Don't sell our your lake house.  I was planning on vacationing there next year.  Got to go cheap for awhile.

Morning fellas

RedFire: thanks man! That did the trick.

8n: Top Right corner under the [X] button to close the window there is a GEAR button (settings), click that and a drop down will appear, about 3/4 down is 'Compatibility View settings', click that. A window will appear with Trains.com in the 'Add this website:' box, click the [Add] button to the right. This will move trains.com to the 'Websites you've added to Compatibility View:' box. Click [Close]. Your browser window will flicker (new settings being applied). All should be OK. To get the menu bar to appear, press the [Alt] key on the keyboard.

MikeC: Dang man I REALLY hope it doesn't come to that! Prayers raised for a positive outcome.

Fife: Glad FifePup is OK.

Brutus: Glad to see you post again. Sorry to hear about Chewy.
