Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

I hope you all don’t mind that I started a fresh pot for February.  I hope I titled the thread correctly.

The weather was warmer today; the high was in the mid-50s.  I spent the day preparing a Sunday school lesson and catching up on some reading.  I took advantage of the sun and grilled some steaks for dinner, accompanied by sweet potato fries, and a salad.  I believe I will treat myself to a root beer float tonight and relax in front of the television.

I’m glad Doug M. is doing well.  I hope you all have a great day.

Thanks JoePerfect job.  Really forgot that it was Feb. 1 when I posted last night.

Bet Buckeyeland will not be in the 60's.  We may have [guess what?] rain later.  Especially Tues.  That is good.  Wash all the salt and brine away.  That is Yankee fertilizer. Whistling  That is why the South is so much greener.  We usually don't have that stuff. Laugh

Not much happening today.  May install new TIU.  Old one years old and giving a few strange things.

Glad everyone is on the mend.  Sounds like Mr. Buckeye has a rehab program all set up for Mrs. Buckeye. Surprise

Charlie and Sir J, will ship you some sunshine Paradise for a price.  Ray, Dennis, Don and Doug W, will send you some rain Storm for a price too.  Whistling

Snowing and 27 degrees.

Chief wants us to pay for warm air, guess he remembers when he had to pay me to vote for him.

Was more than happy to rip the January page off the calender.

Good Mornin' Y'all From The Foot of Sunny Cape Ann,

The high temperature for the day has already been reached, 44.  May hit 50 tomorrow.  I sure hope Chief didn't think that because it was so cold down there recently in Roseyville he didn't have to take his monthly bath in the nearby creek.Whistling  More snow in the forecast for Monday, just a dusting.

GUESS WHAT DAY IT IS?  Why, it is RT's birthday!!!!  Not to be confused with Buckeye's birthday.  Thumbs UpBeerCakeGiftHappy B-DayThumbs Up

JoeyD.......thank you for starting the February POT.  I don't care what the rest of the guys say about you.  There is still hope for a Yankee fan. Laugh  Well, maybe not HudsonJohn and AF Ray. Whistling

Prayers continue for those recovering.......JON, DonnyB, DougM, HusdonJohn's Mom, and Buckeye's wife. Angel I know I am forgetting someone.....Bang Head

Buckeye........the ice cover on the Great Lakes is staggering.  I can remember visiting Door County Wisconsin with my wife about three decades ago and watching the ice floats from Lake Michigan making their way out into open water from Green Bay.

The wife and I are attending a fundraising event tonight for St Francis Children's Hospital.  Needless to say, I am already hearing the classic refrain  "I have NOTHING to wear!!!"  I sincerely hope this does not mean a trip to the mall to buy a dress and all that women buy to go with it.  There won't be any money left over to donate to the charity!!!Bang Head

Later, gang.

Good late morning all,  stayed up too late last night watching a movie (The Aviator) about Howard Hughes early life.  Gave up before it ended but didn't get to sleep until 2:00AM so I slept late this morning.  That's the nice thing about retirement.  No appointments today so who cares?

Glad to hear good reports on Don B., Doug M. and Jon and hope Mrs Buckeye is doing better too.

Don, looking forward to seeing some of your old slides of trains etc.  Wish I could do something with my old railroad slides.  I took pictures from about 1965 until around 1979 while railfanning.  Some of them are good but it is a major job to tackle that slide collection.

Had a hick up on my computer yesterday and lost the keyboard temporarily.  My son found the problem with a loose connection.  Thank goodness for him or I would be out of business.

We are having a special service at church this coming Sunday called a healing mass for people with chronic illnesses like mine and anyone who is suffering serious health problems.  I intend to take advantage of this opportunity and go for myself.  Wife is going too for her health issues.  The service is now called "Annointing of the Sick".  I will be grateful for any benefits that the Lord extends to me.

Can't believe it's February already.  Time flies when you're having fun.

Happy birthday RTHappy B-Day

Ray

Good Afternoon! 39 degrees and Sunny.

A Beautiful Day here. My wife Doray is planning daughter Michele's Baby Shower. I hope she is speaking French for I have been hearing a lot of what "WE" have to do. Her Rehab from the double knee replacements is going well.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! RT

Glad to hear that Doug M is doing well. Get well soon.

Good afternoon all, Accomplished nothing today. Not due to a lack of effort, just everything I touched turned to hash. On top of it all, got a nasty letter from Menard's telling me to pick up stuff I ordered in December. They were supposed to email or call and they did neither. Not sure I am going that route with them again. Customer service is not their long suit. I hope everyone has a good day. Keep on training, Mike C. from Indiana

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RT !!!!!!!!!!

Not much going on here.  Think I ticked off a home care nurse today.  This guy calls last night about 9:30 and says he has an authorization and wants to set up a time for today to come out.  So I tell him 1 pm.  At 2 he calls says he's going to be late.  So he arrives asks if we have done this before, we say yes.  (Actually same company).  Kay asks him does he have a badge.  He had forgotten it at the office.  Then he wanted the previous documentation so he could copy all the info.  (I'm not liking this.)  So I want to know how often a nurse is going to be coming out, and also the physical therapist.  He doesn't know.  Then he wants me to sign some forms saying we've discussed all this including frequency of treatments and treatment contents.  I again ask OK so where is the information?  Oh it will be coming next week.  I told him that is when I will sign the paperwork.  He was not happy, wanted/needed the signed paperwork.  So he left.

Will get it all resolved next week.

Spent most of the day in bed watching TV.

Take care and stay healthy!

Hello all

Well we got less than 2" of new snohio. Still closed up due to frost, but we may open up in the early morning.

Happy Birthday RT!

Chief, I imagine you guys got plenty of salt when Gen. Sherman came thru...Stick out tongue

DonB - sounds like you are getting some interesting visitors between the salesmen and the home care. We'll need to get you a Z-gauge set up you can run on your desk:)

I saw the new streetcar in Tucson for the first time on Wed. They are making test runs right now and are supposed to start up in the spring. Eventually I will be able to take the streetcar downtown from campus and then bus or bike home.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

We had an unseasonably warm day today.  The sun was shining most of the day and the high landed in the upper-50s.  This afternoon I caught a quick ride on the Tardis with SJ, Brutus, and RT, and then I was able to watch some UFC fights.  This evening we had a going-away dinner for my boss.  The dinner was at a traditional Japanese restaurant that also had a coy pond in the center of the dining area.  I am not working tomorrow so I can enjoy the Super Bowl; it starts at 0830 Monday morning out here.

Has anyone heard from Roy recently?

Fife – You can have all our mild weather.  I want some snow.

Thanks JackWink

Happy Belated Birthday RT!

Joe

Hi GUYZ,

Nice here at 35 and getting up to 44.  Helps with the heating bills.  Here is what I have been working on the past month on the layout.  There is more pics on SPF.  Hope you like it?  The mountain is done in 8 different pieces.  I did not want to do the work on top of the layout and on my knees.  So I decided to work in sections and put it all together.  This way if I need to clean track I just remove back part of mountain to get to it.

Front side.

Back side.

Stay frosty my friends,

Don B. -- good job with your "visitor", I had a similar visitor a few years ago when I had a hand surgery and after some discussion we had a better relationship.  You are the boss and sometimes they struggle to figure that out.

It seems like I'm sleeping more during the day but yet I'm still sleeping well at night.  Having our  four year old grandson here this weekend has been wonderful, oldest son was here last night and that was great.  Good for all of us  Thumbs Up

V8....We will remember your cruel comment for a long long time.  Mischief  We can't even see the grass.  A neighbor used his snow blower to clean part of the tree-lawn so that dogs being walked on the adjacent sidewalk have a place to do their duty.
