Good morning all,

We had a good day on the river yesterday. The boat ran great for not being out all year and we pulled the grandkids all over the place on the tube. They had a lot of fun. Yes

I got my LP contract on Saturday and the price is only $1.499 a gallon. That is the cheapest I have ever got it for. I also have 440 left over from last years contract so they reduced the price on that to the same so that left me with 557 carry over. Smile

Prayers to all in need. Angel

Have a good day

It's a sunny 73, going to middle 80s. Joe is right I would rather be too hot than spend 6 months with goose bumps. Shivering and shaking like shake & bake. The grass is green again so I guess we got enough short rains last week to save the trees. It's too late to save the orchard harvest(s) though. ..S.J.

Good morning. It's 78° with 94% humidity. The high will be 98° with a heat index of 110+°. A heat advisory is in effect until 7pm this evening.

I may get in some layout work today providing nobody else has something for me to do. With the weather being what it is I want to stay in out of the heat as much as possible. Otherwise I'll be inside watching some movies and taking it easy. Doctors orders you know. I certainly don't want to be spending time in that building with the red cross on the roof.

Rich,

345K makes me feel better about 196K on my daily.Smile  I keep thinking about the cost of a radiator too since I the one I put in the 91 Probe set me back $210, then $210 is what I got back from scrapping the car and selling the tail lights.Bang Head  Took at least a $2,800 loss on the whole deal.Bang Head  Thinking about a buyback.

Not sure which direction to go first today.  Grass finally needs cut, and I have to go buy a low profile jack and spring compressor so I can install the Ford Racing lowering springs that are due in today.  Going with a 1" drop all around to get rid of the Challenger look.Smile, Wink & Grin

Fired up the layout this weekend for the first time in a long time and got three loops running.  Need to get back on it.

Evening all.  Busy day.  Had curtain rod to hang in dinning over double window.  Then moved "remote control systems" to the Box.  Running fine and then suddenly nothing.  Had to go to MIL's so let it drop.  Came back with large "dorm frig".  Put it in old shop.  Took smaller one from old shop and put in the Box shop.  It is now under the small section of the two "launch tacks" in the back corner of the Box shop.  Microwave is right next to it on the file cabinet [short kitchen cabinet with 3 drawers].  Got back to the problem.  [yes, John F. painted the plugs to insure phasing is right]  Seems TVS is shorted out.  By-passed it and no short.

Off to bed.  Sleep tight.

Konnichiwa,

I’m just wrapping up my lunch break so I figured I would drop in for a quick post.  The heat and humidity continue out here.  I woke up earlier (0515) to start my run and it still wasn’t early enough.  I ran eight miles and I was drained by the time I finished.  Mondays are when I run my longer distances so next Monday I may wake up at 0430.  I know SJ won’t like it, but I can’t wait until summer is over.  The Yanks and the Sox are tied in the 10th right now.  It’s time to get back to work and then I have BJJ tonight.

BOC – I’ll be praying you receive some good news this week.

I hope you guys in the States get some rain as well.

Sayonara,

Joe

Well howdy guys - not much going on here today.  It was raining this morning, which is great news, but we need a lot more!  Char had to work on a project at work (comp time) so I did the running around for groceries and to pick up a chair she bought with my son yesterday.  The new chair was pretty heavy, but we got it in the house.  Unfortunately, the recliner mechanism sticks on it - one of the bolts on the leg lifter thingie hits another bolt on the frame.  I think I could fix it, but we just bought the thing new and it should be good.  We'll exchange it next weekend - already called and arranged it, but the store is only open on weekends.  Now our son is driving us nuts by insisting on sitting in it and bashing it into the darn couch.  Told him that if he keeps this up he will own a $400 broken chair and I will be really P-O'd.  Sometimes the kids just drive you crazy.

Chats with RT and SJ tonight, some good talk.  TARDIS is ready, so let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

It is ok temperature wise in SE Indiana.  Long days the past 3 days and they will not get any shorter for more than a week.  Friday was an all day staff meeting.  Saturday was spent moving red bud trees, all of which appear to be dying, and going to a wedding of Lucas' best friend.  Lucas gave a very heartfelt best man speech and good food and dancing was enjoyed by all.  Today was spent at youngest granddaughter's 2nd birthday.  Monday and Tuesday should be semi-normal although work will be busy.  Wednesday is last regular game.  Thursday is move out day for Lucas, and I did get a crew to help at Bloomington.  Thursday is also first playoff game as well.  Friday will be a recovery day.  Saturday and Sunday will be at Mid-Ohio or nearby areas, and Monday will be return day.  Was able to watch US women's first game against France finally on the net.  Hopefully I wll be able to watch the Columbian game soon.  TBIL but someone else will have to drive the next few days.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good night all.  Just got home from Friend Fred and his Wifey taking Wifey and self out to dinner [yes, a free one, family style pork bar-be-que, slaw, boiled potatoes {did noteat any}, french fries {did not eat any}, southern fried chicken, shrimp, flounder, slaw and brunswick stew].  Did drink my first sweet tea in 5 weeks.  Then they took us to the old movie theater in Sema NC.  Russel More and IIIrd Tyme Out performed bluegrass.

Good morning all,

Looks like the Pat and Ray cooking school is in session again.  I need to get back on that low carb diet too.  I make cauliflower South Beach "mashed potatoes" but have not tried potato salad with it.  What do you use for mayonaise?

Fence guys must have taken the day off today.  Almost 10:00AM and nobody here.  Nice of them to let me know if they're not working today.  Looks like a void behind the new wall on my side that needs to be filled in after job is done.  Have to scrounge for fill dirt.  I think neighbor has some from trench excavation on his side.

Had a small get together last night with a couple of friends to run trains and watch train videos.  Showed pictures of our departed friend from his circus days.  Was pretty tired so we did not stay late.  Went to bed early.

later,

Ray

From the Pat and Ray cooking school :

Duke's mayonaise is carb free. The secret to a great potatoless potato salad is to dry the cauliflower  so no water dilutes the salad, then cut up the cauliflower fairly fine. We use paper towels and let the cauliflower drain for at least 1 hour.

Happy Sunday!

DougM - hope your family gets well soon...safe travels on your "college trip"

Morning forecast said clear and mostly sunny until 5 or 6 yeasterday...so I rode to work.  Had a little overtime and caught a rain storm going home.  I was drenched.....to say the least....my sneakers are STILL wet.

Heavy storms blew threw about 830 last night, multiple wires down and a tree hit a house and a partial collapse....power was out from 8PM to 10 PM - HudsonJohn - JCP&L...not youse guys...lol

JUST got done doing my laundry...abbreviated from last night.

345K neon BACK on the road, running hot straight and normal....Pulsar had lost most of it's exhaust system to rust and was extremely loud.  Neon has no stereo, but my Droid and ear phones work well for now.  Amazing what a new radiator can do for you....Bang Head

Angel for those in need...

Have a good Sunday guys......off to finish cleaning up.

Good morning all,

Chief, thanks for the Bluegrass.  Sounds good once in a while.  A school friend of mine in Virginia has a little blue grass radio show on Saturday morning called Picken with Ralph.  Can't get it here but I got it over the internet a couple of times.  Make sure you order the low calorie bar-b-que etc.

Went to TCA meet yesterday and made my announcement about Ed Harrigan's funeral.  Unfortunately, one of the clubs is having their annual picnic on the same day.  Don't think they will suffer from lack of attendance though as only the older members remember Ed.  Anyway, it is what it is.  Can't be helped.

Oldest son and his family left for Kennedy Space Center in Florida yesterday for grandson's participation in NASA program.  We are watching their bird (cockatoo) while they are gone for a week.  He is a real rascal.  Wants out of his cage all the time and drives you nuts until you let him out.

Block wall guys took Friday off and hopefully they will be back Monday.  Neighbor in back is the one who hired them.  The head man told me they should finish it next week.  The sooner the better for me.

Just got phone call from the kids in Florida.  They had a good flight and grandson was thrilled with his first airplane ride.  They are visiting some train museum today.

later,

Ray
