Hi GUYZ,

65 here and nice.  Going for a run now then taking MINNNIE to fetch ball at fields.  Didn't do that in a while.  Went to NED SMITH FESTIVAL at river yesterday.  Was well attended and MINNIE saw the dogs catching frisbees.  All she wanted to do was go play.  She has yet to catch a frizbeeee but does great with tennis balls.  Wish I could get her to do the frisbee things.

Stay frosty,

Good morning. It's 75° and the humidity is at 90%. The high will be 98° but will feel like 110°. It will be partly cloudy.

The clock has just changed to 6:32am as I type this and the a/c has already turned itself on. A harbinger of the hot day to come. I already have a train running this morning. The three GP9m's are pulling. Somewhere in the rear of the string of cars is one with a squeaky wheel or two. I'll have to locate that one and see what can be done about it. No plans for today except to stay out of the heat as much as possible. One or more of the meds I take cause me to sunburn easily and I want nothing to do with that.

I've located the squeaky culprit. It's an old Conrail flatcar carrying a 53' container. It has plastic wheels on metal axles.

BOC.......mother nature has a sense of humor and surprise.  67 now and 69 for the high with t-storms.  We have not seen cool temps like these for two months.  The rains this week greened things up in the back but the front lawn is a dormant tan color......so that's probably the way it will stay until Fall.  Looks like Brutus, DougM and KEV will get wet today.

Off to New Hampshire for the day shortly to spend some time with a grieving friend, then dog training.

Good Morning

Sunny and cool outside right now..going to a high of 82F feeling like 88 today...going to be pretty much the same temperature range with heat index around 88F to 95F all week by the looks of things...

Going to find some things in various closets around here that went missing on me..may end up throwing a pile of junk out in the bargain.....

Konnichiwa,

The wife had fun Friday night and I took the kids out for Japanese curry.  We spent Saturday doing chores and getting the house ready for another office get-together we hosted.  We made manicotti, grilled pork chops, salad, and tomatoes and mozzarella.  It was a great dinner and a fun time.  We had Sunday school and church this morning.  It is another scorcher out there as well.  The older boy and I just finished playing catch and having some batting practice and we are extremely sweaty and tired.  We will spend the rest of the day inside relaxing.

Jeffrey – Moving from Germany to Louisiana would have been quite the change.  That would have been more shocking to me than the Pacer.

Kev – It had a supercharger and it kept up nicely with superior sports cars.  I had some fun rides on I-95 during those times.  Amazingly I never received one ticket.

Rich – Sorry about the Philly job; I hope the other opportunity works out.

I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good night all.  Just got home from Friend Fred and his Wifey taking Wifey and self out to dinner [yes, a free one, family style pork bar-be-que, slaw, boiled potatoes {did noteat any}, french fries {did not eat any}, southern fried chicken, shrimp, flounder, slaw and brunswick stew].  Did drink my first sweet tea in 5 weeks.  Then they took us to the old movie theater in Sema NC.  Russel More and IIIrd Tyme Out performed bluegrass.

Now if things keep going as present, this will be all of us singing.

Evenin' All.

Thursday nite apparently was a roaring success. A good sized crowd although not as many as I had anticipated but there were lots of smiles, camera flashes and people stayed for a good while. All six of us were kept hopping all evening. Got home about 11:30 so needless to say Friday, most all day, the Better Half would just look at me and say "the lights are but ain't nobody home". Actually took two naps.

Today was the Kid's Club and all went well, but I believe we have a TPC that is about to crash. It was a bit finicky and responses could be erratic at times. Just finished supper, BL and home grown T. Best I've had in quite awhile.

BOC, Angel .

As well as for all our friends and families, Angel.

Howdy guys - sounds like you will have a nice trip, Doug Thumbs Up

BoC - prayers continue!

It was hotter here today than I expected, thought it was supposed to be down in the lower 90s?  I ran the rider and mowed just the front and sides where the grass actually grew.  A lot of the lawn is so dry it's really bad - like dry hay.  I'll have to start watering or I might have problems in the Fall.  I bought a new timer that has like an egg-timer on it to shut off the sprinkler.  That way I don't forget and let it run for hours, like I have been known to do Whistling  Need to do a bit of work in the basement tomorrow, good day to work inside I guess, lol.

TARDIS is ready, let's get going!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

 Jeffery,

You can do like some kids we saw a week or so ago at Wal Mart. They had no windshield on their car and they were driving with motorcycle glasses on. They seemed to be having fun. I think I smelled weed when they passed us in the parking lot and we were walking into the store. Whistling

Sounds like fun but no thanks.Laugh

That gives me what I need plus a little extra. Maybe I'll be able to afford a new windshield wiper motor next month. It only costs about $50 that I don't have.

Went to town earlier to get some gas to last for what little is left of the month. $25 got me a little over seven and a half gallons. That gives me what I need plus a little extra. Maybe I'll be able to afford a new windshield wiper motor next month. It only costs about $50 that I don't have.

Aloha. Bride and youngest have summer flu. I'm avoiding it I hope. Picked up the college-boy. Bring him back for his final week of orientation tomorrow. Then the youngest and I are off to camp in the UP for the week. Bride can't wait for us to leave. Kev, I have this nifty 'hobbyist tool kit' I got from an ad in MR. It has all sorts of small modeling tools, as well as tools for some basic woodworking. Between that and a simple Dremel, I'm set.

Morning all,

Off to TCA Western Div. train meet this morning.

All the car talk is interesting.  I rode a bicycle until I was 18.  After that drove a friend's 41 Ford.  First car I owned was a 55 Oldsmobile 88.  Best car I ever had.

Watched Olympic opening ceremony and fell asleep during the parade but saw the U.S. team come in and the U.K.

later,

Ray

Good morning. It's 81° with 84% humidity. It already feels like 88. The high will be 95° but will feel like 110. It will be partly cloudy.

Later today, if I feel up to it I'll go and check out the tractor to see what kind of repairs it needs. I'm hoping it won't need a new transaxle. No layout work planned for today.

Morning all.  Had big Tstorms yesterday afternoon/ evening.  Went to bed early.  Hot and humid today.

At the lake house.   Mowed and mowed.  Had to mow most of my lake house yard 3 times and some of it 4 times.  The only thing I find wrong with a JD mower is 4" is as high as it will mow.  At 4", it was pilling clippings.  Had to mow blowing the clippings out.  Mowed neighbor's yard and came back to dried out clippings.  Mowed lower.  Then mowed lower blowing clippings in and remowed the piles of clippings.  Finally no big piles.  Actually needed to bag or rake.

Moving slow today.  Off to Hunters Haven at new location.  Then Wifey and I are off to dinner and a bluegrass show with Friend Fred and his Wife [he bought the tickets].

Later.

Good morning,

Slept in some like SJ and still tired. BOC’s posted picture just about covers it for me too. Sleep

The neighbor and I were running trains yesterday afternoon when I found out at 3:00 that the wife had plans for us to meet the daughter and granddaughter at the MIL’s house at 6:00, 36 miles away.  Super AngrySo that is what we did. Oh Joy. Zip it! Screwed up my timing for dinner that was in the crock pot but it kept till we got home, So we had a late dinner and I fell asleep watching the Olympic opening ceremonies. Zzz

Kind of looking for some tools for working on small wood projects for the layout. What do you guys use and what do you think I need?

Not much else here, Indifferent

Prayers for those in need. Angel

You all have a good day.

Fifepup had to apply the Coasties on-line, even though he tried to just talk to someone in person.  Why-oh-why can't people just answer a few questions...?  Our police department is dipping its big toe into these waters, and already I hear rookies telling people to file their complaints on-line.  And I fire back at them, people above their 20's want a real live cop at their door! That's why they "troubled" you.  So put down your i-pod, pick up your pen, and serve.

It's 70 now. We just had about 30 minutes of rain. Yes we will take it. I got the alum. border in but would like to get it deeper. I need some extra hands with hammers so we can drive the spikes down all at once. We took a short walk tonight, granny seems to be doing very well with her new knee. Banilla is waiting..S.J.
