Aloha. Up and about today for the first time in a week. Hope to go to work tomorrow! SJ, how was the Thomas modules? That's a beauty of a display cabinet Jim. Rich, I heard Thantos shows his face...! Hope to celebrate my 18 year old tonight with a few men. Have a nice home-made book to give him.

Bob.......... "slow on the uptake" with the English girl who was paying you and your a car a serious compliment? The word s-l-o-w suggests movement. You were not moving AT ALL!!!
Your later model Corvair, besides the suspension improvements, also had several engine improvements over the earlier model ones, after they got some of the weak points sorted out (plumbing, gaskets). What a lot of people don't know is how far ahead of its time the Corvair was......like, only the second ever production American car available with a turbo, and a Boxer engine with the horizontally opposed cylinders which are used today with great success with the Porsche Boxter and the Subarus. The Nader stuff (rear suspension tripe) that helped kill the car was disproven.
In the final analysis, we need to help you with your "hunting" skills , but your car selection is great. Every day your ride will stand out among what I consider too many vehicles that look far too similar. For example, my wife and I frequently joke that it is hard to tell one SUV or CUV from another unless you lnow the manufacturers' badging.
Sweet ride! Next? TURBO---TURBO---TURBO (not Tebow).
Later gang.
Jack.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a beautiful day. 72 degrees and sunny.
Today is an easy day. I plan on watching the ballgame and the Nascar race. Want to spend some time outside enjoying the weather.
Dining car has rolled in from Points East with Cheerios for breakfast. Then, it will depart for Points West.
Y'all have a great Sunday.

Yesterday I was able to visit another of America's great model train stores, Summerfields in Butler, Wisconsin. There was no snow on the ground in cheeseland. I found a Miller Brewing car to commerate my trip to Milwaukee.

Sunny and low 90's today.
Long and frustrating week at work. All manner of probl -er- challanges that needed to be worked through. Ended up at work today from 8am to about 10:30pm.
Had a bit of fun on the way home. Another Cobalt SS pulled up next to me at a stop light. He had me when the light turned green, but I think I controlled wheel spin better 'cause I had him by a fender as I shifted into 2nd. I figured 45 headed for 50 about 1/2 a block after the light was good enough and shut down.
The item that arrived ath the LHS was one of the comand controlled switches. Haven't even had time to read the instructions for it yet.
Bob - Neat car. One of my good friends family had a very similar car - Was a 4 door hardtop in a 'coffin rose' sort of color with a black interior. '65 - wasn't that the year they replaced the rear swing axle suspension with half shafts with a u-joint on each end?
Got my bicycle back from the bike shop this morning. I think my wife will probably want me to accompny her on a ride with her newly acquired mountain bike on the KATY trail tomorrow.
All for now.
Konnichiwa,
I hope everyone is having a good night’s rest while I type this. We had church this morning and will spend the afternoon relaxing. We have a soup and sandwich social event at the church tonight; it is a nice way to casually get to know other church members. It was nice this morning but the rain should start any moment. The sky is now dark and I can hear plenty of thunder. Yesterday we were fortunate enough to have no rain and dry fields so the baseball team had its game. The kids played alright for not having any practice the past week. Our princess had her ballet and dance recital yesterday afternoon as well. She performed wonderfully and had a great time. I took advantage of yesterday’s nice weather to take care of some outdoor chores.
Bob – That’s a neat car. You must be out of practice; I guess you could stake out the grocery store and wait for her return. Of course you don’t want to look like a stalker.
I’ll pray for all of us in need.
Sayonara,
Joe
Hello all
Well Jack, I guess I'm in on the Crud Club. Picked up some kind of chest cold that reared it's ugly head about a day after I got to work. Last night was not a fun shift. Think I'm on the upswing, but we'll see.
Thanks for the comments on the car, it is a nice ride. Turns a few heads around down. Had a pretty English woman ask me in the grocery store "if that was my beautiful car out there?". After discussing it a bit and heading off to do shopping, I realized I should have asked her if she would like to take a ride A little slow on the uptake I guess...
Kev - glad to hear about you catching Chief's breakfast. Maybe Buckeye can send some Skyline Chili so he can "make it a meal"
JimT - yeah, the car is is pretty decent shape. May have only 44K on it too, but no way to be sure. Glad to see the '91 is close to being on the road. Nice Flyer collection you have there BTW!
Brutus - just saw in a recent issue of Trains where they are restoring an interesting inspection locomotive at the transportation museum in St. Louis. Would be neat to see that some day. I think they also have one of the only N&W Y units remaining.
Have a great weekend everybody!
Good Morning....its 20 mins to Sunday, so I'm early.
for Jean, Marvin, SPRay, DougM and Jeff...did I miss anyone? Oh, yeah, Jack and Mrs and anyone else with the CRUD. Yes I qualify as I am Mental...no doubt.
SubmmBob - Nice ride!
DJ - as far as shelves go (BTW, Nice job Probe!). I got a display from Home Depot and funny, it was Orange. I used it to make shelving for my (at the time) small assortment. I could double stack them, so the rear was elevated about 1" and the front just sat on the shelf. I used old tubular and some really bad fastrack and it looked really good. It was 6' tall and about 4 feet wide.
Laz & Dood - I was looking for a good series, but Philly talk radio inflamed me to the point that I want the Flyers beaten and soundly. The sports radio had the Devs out in 5 and playing the Rags (Rangers). The Devils have been playing good sound defensive hockey. And that's Devils Hockey!
It's too early to talk smack about baseball...see me about July 4th and we'll talk.
Full time job has me hopping, and I can't tell you about the pay, but it is work and that is good.
Princess' birthday is Monday, but I took her out Wednesday night to and Irish restaurant. She had a good time as it was jut me and her. She took me to see the Avengers last night (that was MY birthday present) and the movie is ALL THAT!!! STAY TILL THE END!!! Great flick 4 stars!
I'm off to bed, I'll see about checking in tomorrow. My computer time is limited here and at work.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Howdy guys - busy today, in a way. Guy came to look at house for appraisal for refi with cash back to build the wall. Based on what he said, I think we're fine. We'll know in about a week I guess. I checked Angie's List and found a very good review on the guy who gave us an estimate.
Worked on my son's laptop, which had some kind of error on it - thought it was a virus, but turns out he messed up the clock so the protection kept thinking it was way out of date? That was a goof that cost me about 2 hours of my life I'll never see again We then picked up some stuff for the yard and for the basement at Home Depot and some burgers and hotdogs at Schnucks. Got home and had the first bbq of the year - yum!
Nice chat with SJ and Charlie tonight, sounds like they'll have tons of fun tomorrow too TARDIS is ready - let's get moving!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Time for me to call it a night. Had two characters pop in on me unexpectedly. Tiredness and exhaustion. Time to go see what my pillow is doing. See y'all tomorrow.
SJ,
Thanks. You'd really like what's resting on my pool table right now. With that said, I need to build more cases.
68 now.
The patio did not get finished as granny decided to work on the flower garden instead. Some patio work got done but not much and I can't do granny jobs without supervision. All husbands know that. So I did some lawn work. 1 piece of fried chicken with mashed taters and gravy for supper. Worked for me. Maybe some Banilla later. I am looking forward to tomorrow and the village. S.J.
Jim you have some nice Flyer engines.

Spank,
Here you go. The case with the Lionel in it is 39.5"x49.5" with 6" between each shelf. That 6" gives enough space to get pieces in and out easily. It is made entirely of 1x6 pine stained with a Minwax dark walnut and is backed with a sheet of masonite.
I built this case for Gilbert AF. I used 1x4 pine for this one, but it is constructed the same way.
Hope this helps.

That is what I am thinking of as well...this thing we have is about 30 years old and is falling apart ....
KEV.......we had the deck built (16' X 14') on 12" centers instead of 16" which meant more threaded/glued nails (headless) per board, shorter unsupported spans, and less board flex and pressure on the nails. We have probably had over 20 people on the deck at various times, some of them super heavyweights....... Plus the deck has to survive the New Englans weather extremes. I do keep it clear of snow in the Winters, and it sits on the North side of the house so it doesn't bake in the sun/heat all day. RaySP, DonB, DougDG, and V8 are glad I have supported the California logging industry.

Good morning all, lots of things going on here this weekend. Fullerton Railroad Days celebration with real trains and models on display, an air show at Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, Calif., and finally TTOS train meet on Sunday. However, I don't think I will make any of them due to health problems. Might try to get out to train room/garage today and figure out how to add some feeder wires to the layout. Have a good weekend all,
Ray

Hudson#685 Jeffrey, good luck with your "Urban Renewal Project". Remember it was a gas station, so you better get the DEP, soil samples and tank removal permits.

Afternoon all!
Long stressful week this past week so glad it is over! Taking it easy today. Had pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Watching NASCAR qualifying. Plan to watch the Nationwide race later today.
Will put some stain on the new fence today.
Final Senior prom is tonight. Just a few weeks left of managing HS student and events. Whew!
DougM - sounds like the leg is improving?
Kev & Jeffrey - man you guys are right about those racoons - the one Kev caught is wearing a possum suit!
Going to 91 or 92 today - hot already!
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Later, gang.
Lunch Time,
Quiet morning here. The rain stopped and the fog lifted. very Damp and cloudy. We can finally concentrate on our work instead of taking care of those little "Emergency 10 minute jobs" that turn into an all day project.
SJ, have fun with the afternoon patio project. I am sure that you will be rewarded with a great dinner for your efforts.
Laz, enjoy Cabella's. they were to put one up by Giants Stadium, but they were afraid to disturb Jimmy Hoffa's burial ground. So now a Bass Pro is going up across the river from our Garage on the old National Lead Co. site. (Dutch Boy Paint)
AF53, Ray, 2 Boxes arrived.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in Need.
John
Have a Great Day!
Good morning All on the pot forum.
I haven't posted much lately, but I am current on reading the forum.
On the Raccoon front, I greased the T-poles holding bird feeders this AM. Ever see them try to climb up the greased poles? Fun to watch!
Our grass in the fields is getting away from the cows. It's ether feast or famine. I'll bet Banks knows what I am talking about.
Chief - I have been following your progress on the box. Don't you wish you had more time to work on it?
Spanky, it good to hear from you.
SJ - enjoy your emails and Facebook entries.
On the train front, I ordered a remote camera to record the trains movements. Hope to post on the forum, and on YouTube (once I learn how to post on YouTube).

Aloha. Grey and cool today. Youngest off to the Cubs game with my FiL. Got to the basement to run trains last night. Still hurtin' - hope to go back to the office on MOnday. 8nT, those road-trip car maladies can be expensive though that price sounds about right - we had the exact same thing go wrong with our mini-van a few years back. Prayers for your ankle, DJ. Smbob, that's a beautiful Corvair!
55 now with a cooler 60s today.
Granny fixed us a nice breakfast with real home fries and sausage gravy. This time tomorrow I will be at Greenfield village with Charlie and others running the Glancy modular layout with a Thomas theme. The 1/1 size Thomas is there for 3 weekends, I am going for 1 day only. Granny wants to work on getting the patio ready for summer today so I guess I will be getting some unwanted exercise...S.J.
Sunny and a high near 66F today...a lot less stick and gum as well....
We did an early morning yard sale hunt and found nothing of interest...although I didst bespy a layout in a garage near here..still being worked on...
We had an interesting evening here...a good 4 hour operating session with 6 operators and NO INCIDENTS at all!!!....yes!!!
And, we are still working on our house..now we need to work on a new back deck...sigh..which means a continuation on the next to no $$$$ for mrr stuff
