Sir James and Charlie..Thanks for the videos. Sorry I missed the show but I was reminded before Mass that I had another comitment. Almost unbelievable, but it did have a higher priority.
Prayers for all in need especially thoswe IN HARMS WAY
Aloha all. Mr-Momming here for the youngsters whilst the bride is away. So far I so good. Of course I have to get everything cleaned up before she returns tomorrow night. Nice reminder of the Great Grits Caper. Nicer chat with Berk-owner SJ, Charlie, RT and Brutus last night.

dougdagrump RT, Check out ERR, they have TMCC controls for dummies so you have sounds and directional lights. They operate as a lashup just as if it had motors. Think Chief and a few others have done them. Kind of a gray drizzly yucky day.

Doug I bought back sometime ago an electronic unit for GP-9 dummies which gives you light control and coil couplers it was put out by Lionel item # 6-22961 but its not made anymore to my knowledge but I have used one of the couplers on another unit so I have to get one for it ( already ordered) and since I was ordering I ordered 2 more to go with the power unit so when I order my ac commander for it I'll already have the coil couplers ready to go in it.

Afternoon. No meetings turned into morning meetings. Folks cleaning up and cable crews restoring cable and telephone. TV crews still in town shooting videos. Tired. Need sleep. Later.

RI Jack no the original plan was to use the engine I had gotten them for a deal and when I got them knew i wanted to add lights to the dummy but wasn't sure till recently about adding tmcc to them. I really like them and they will/do go good with my NYC GP-9 which is tmcc. I let the NYC pull/push the dummy unit now as it is. I just need to add one more coupler and the lights to it which are on there way.
Not much happening planted 7 trees this morning 6 Lombardi poplar and 1 golden sugar maple.
need to goto Lowe's tomorrow and get a masonry drill bit about 2/16" so I can predrill into brick for my ceiling layout. ( in the fireplace hearth) have the bolts already but broke last bit about a year ago.
need to do about 4 braces there as don't have board long enough to go from one end of room to toher so will be connection 2 boards about in the middle. also need some wood screws that don't go thru my 1"x8" boards where I add the brackets lol.
Good morning all, I missed one day on the pot and have been trying to catch up today. Don't know what to make of the so called "Grits caper" by Fife. That big bowl of steaming grits with butter on top looked pretty good to me but maybe my Southern heritage is showing. I thought that was an original picture of the Yankee Civil War officers and men but on closer examination, it appears to be a bunch of Civil War reenactors. Their uniforms are too clean to be real.
Chief, saw your photo of the lunch gathering interupted by grits. Figured the guy in front was LAZ but don't know the other guys by their photos just yet.
Went to TTOS train meet this past week end and picked up a new toy. I bought an electric powered working steam engine made by Empire. Got some distilled water but haven't fired it up yet. Some of my train buddies have these things so maybe we will have a steam get together some time.
My leg pain responded well to the prednisone. The doctor only wanted me to try it for 5 days. I need to report to him today.
Small rain shower overnight but clearing for the rest of the week and mild temperatures forcast.
Have a good week y'all,
Ray

Lunch time,
Stretched the wheels on my old 221 yesterday. That sucker still runs great. Thanks for sharing the picture of the Great Grits Caper.
Chief, Prayers for the old gent who was burned yesterday. He must be in great pain.
Mich and SJ, They look great and thanks for sharing.
Laz, I saw the snow line on the weather last night. Hopefully it is the last of it.
Jack, I know better than to get her "flanged wheels" for her birthday. We are going to be "sharing" a 24x24 room for a combo train / scrapbooking / craft room. "Quality time together".
RI Jack, Congratulations on your son's team victory.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Good morning all,
It was sunny and in the upper-40s when I left for work this morning, and today's high is 61. I don't have anything excited planned at work today, but that's when something unexpected will happen. I had a bowl of honey-nut Chex cereal and a banana for breakfast, followed by my usual umpteen cups of .
RI Jack - Yes, 50 degrees is a great temperature for playing baseball, but those of us who were watching would have enjoyed about 10 more degrees and less wind.
We don't have any plans for this evening and I'm hoping to run the trains since I didn't do that all weekend.
Good day,
Joe
Good Mornin'Ya'll from Rainy and Warmer Taxachussetts,
Granddaughter (7 y/o) spent the night Friday, then we took her with us up to NH for dog training (obedience) on Saturday. Everyone came over to our place for burgers, chili fries, and milk shakes Saturday night. SIL and I took on 1 pound burgers. Dessert from an Italian pastry shop. Need I say I was beyond stuffed? Burp!!!!!!!!!
We remain in a warm spell. Hit 59 yesterday, in the low 50s now. Flood watch and gale warnings in effect. Massive snow melt continues. About 5% of the lawn is now showing, mountains down to 3 feet or so. The curb in the street put in front of my house may make an appearance today, first time since December 26. Fog last night was so bad that driving 40mph in a 65 zone on the highwya was a white-knuckled experience. You couldn't see 50 feet ahead and the Winter road chemicals have eradicated most of the white lines on the road. If the lead guy drove off a cliff everyone behind him would have followed suit.
Chief........hope you are surviving the weather safely. Rolesville was just on the Weather Channel. Doesn't look good.
MikeC.....was thinking of your weekend with family trying to distribute belongings and keepsakes but was glad all seems to be going smoothly. Prayers this peace continues. Emotional time for all.
Brutus.......the good news continues. Between the PT and the upswing in her day-to-day activities, it sounds like Char continues on a roll. Prayers continue, buddy. Hope your Dad's knee is coming along too. 8N......a few more months and your wifey will be in better shape than you. Prayers continue for her continued progress as well. Dennis.......prayers for your friend who was ultimately claimed by MS. Many don't realize just how long and nasty that road to the end is. Heartbreaking. Being selected to be a pallbearer is quite an honor in my book.

8N......a few more months and your wifey will be in better shape than you. Prayers continue for her continued progress as well.
SJ and Charlie......thanks for the videos of SJ's scale Berk hauling those tank cars. SJ is right, quite the smoke pouring out the stack. And it looked like the Berk was having no trouble pulling the tender and 21 cars, not the lightest ones either. A prodigious hauler and a looker to boot! Ya gotta love those Lionel steam engines.
SJ........our kids get wrapped up in their schedules too. If they have children (our grandchildren) it gets worse. So Grammy early on declared Saturday nights Grammy and Grampy night at our place, attendance mandatory. We supply the beverages and the main course and the kiddies bring dessert and/or a movie. Ya don't mess with the Queen or heads will roll. Peasants are cooperating.
HudsonJohn.........some of us old timers have a hard time keeping to a reasonable work schedule, then leaving work and taking care of business at home. If left to the employers, we would have no family life, no personal time, or time for a hobby outside of work. I had a boss once who wanted me to postpone my already delayed first honeymoon that had been planned two months in advance.......due to the latest work disaster. The other "boss" came first, and work got along just fine without me. My work boss had the nerve to ask me for my phone number at the hotel down in the Carribean!!!!!!! Hope you got your wifey something that runs on flanged wheels for her birthday.
AfRay.........sons are sometimes thick like that, regarding visiting the parents. Daughters and daughters-in-law realize very quickly that a night without cooking and cleaning and the extra hands (reinforcements) that the grandparents provide AT THEIR PLACE with the grandchildren means an evening of relative r-e-s-p-i-t-e. the boys get outvoted 1-1.
Spanky......happy birthday to little guy Tyler. What did you get him?
RT........just think. If your carpet central had not been launched it might be another 35 years until the PRR GP9 was resurrected. Get well!!!
DougM........Jesuits have a long and winding road before they are ordained. Thelongest amongs the orders. Congratulations to your brother!!!! Your wifey actually trusts you to leave you in charge?
SubBob........we'd send you some of our H2O overstock, but it would all run right back to us.
Joe........50 degrees for the little guy's baseball games is nirvanna!!!! Try high 30s, a 20mph wind, and perhaps some rain which is par for the course around here at the beginning of each season. Glad to hear the little guy had a good time, got some hits, and came away with the W.
Gotta run. Later, gang.
Jack

It is 26 degrees. Going up to 44 today with some sunshine.
Today is a busy day. Wife is grocery shopping. I am doing usual chores and then working on paperwork. I'll be busy for a few hours. Maybe I'll have time for a nap, later. Ran trains for a couple of hours yesterday. Got some dusting done.
Dining car is here with an omlet for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s. I see where the Princess finished 4th Saturday in a NASCAR event, and is fourth in points. Perhaps NASCAR may have to rethink their "one series" only if the lower level series champion does not win a race or even score a top 5. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good evening all,
It was another long day for us due to day two of our 7y/o son's baseball tournament. His team won both games today and took first place. They did very well and our son had one hit and an RBI in the championship game. The weather was a bit warmer today which was nice.
Traindood/Buckeye/Doug - Thanks for the tips. I will swing by the Hobby Lobby to see if they have the Glue Dots. If not, I will try the pins.
Charlie - Thanks for sharing the videos of SJ's Berk and your tanks.
No trains today due to the tournament.
Good night,

Good Evening Guys...
Rain and heavy at times here at Exit 8....
Fixed a couple of fire truck lights today, dinner at cracker barrel with a friend and her daughter...was very good!
Yesterday was nice except for the wind...then clouds. Had a fire call in the township...aluminum wires in a wall and no breaker trip. Was out when we arrived, fortunatly. Spent the evening at Cranbury FD covering for them while they partied. Nice new firehouse and big screen TV, pool table and darts. Was good, back home by 1130 PM.
Mrs Hudson & Tyler...
That's all for now...more work this week... hope to check back soon.
