i have had bad boards befor and had to replace them its usually not that hard worst was redoing the board in my NYC GP-9 but all is fine in it now.

Not much happening today but did almost go into shock realized this is the first time in a long time I had nothing for sale on ebay or was bidding on anything lol.

Afternoon fellas and gals:       Kinda tech question. I recently purchased a lionel oil tank #6-16852. Works perfect. However, light on top does not flash. I called lionel and ordered led strobe replacement part #6307903300. It looks the same to me; lite, circuit board etc. I think to just swap it out for old one.   Any help?   Dining car has arrived.    Thanx.   Ken.   later.

Doug M.....Back in 1998, we had to build a road that is 1480 feet, to get back here, to build this house. It was a big hay field. It took 26 truck loads, about 170 tons to build a road good enough for the cement and concrete block trucks. That was a lot of gravel.

Good afternoon all,

I was not able to post last night due to getting home late from Bible study.  By the time we got home and I got all the kids to bed I was beat.  The weather has been very nice today and the high is in the 60s.  It's been a somewhat slow day at work.  I don't have much on tonight's agenda either.

Traindood - I lived in Germany for three years and loved how easy it was to use their train system to travel around Germany.  I'm not saying they are a better country in any way, but as a train fan I was certainly a happy camper.  But of course, the autobahn was certainly fun as well.

Good day,

Joe

Aloha all. Still battling computer issues at work with our continuing upgrades. Just normal stuff.  Sorry about Sable, Ray. That was sure a horrible end for Rutgers; don't think that team will ref again. Chuck, wow! 20 tons of gravel! That's alot. Serving at church mid-week service as video director tonight.

Hey Brent:          Just read your post on European train travel. Never been to Europe. You are right about that system. American mentality is so different. We love our freedom, and that goes for all aspects of life, including traveling. This Republic is fiercely independent when it comes to travel restrictions or even scheduling.  That's why we use so much energy.  I've never heard anyone say  "I can't wait to get back to Europe, everything is so much better over there". There is a reason people love to come to the best place on earth; we have the best medical care, information technology, science, entertainment, i could go on and on. We have the space and time to think. All because we have the freedom to travel anywhere anytime and anyplace. What a country!

Mornin' Fellas.

I missed my reduced fair to York and keep forgetting to call and preregister... got to get on that soon!

Also need to get my mug shot done for an updated license... needs to be done by next Thursday.

Not much else going on around these parts - except the rain. Sad

Ray - Angel for Sable

MikeC - missed what is taking place. Prayers that it all works out.

JimT - DC has all walks of life, and it is really a neat place to live. One of the few cities where you really don't need to own a car, unless you want to travel by car.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a rainy 40 degrees. Ground is getting soaked. Going up to 48 today with rain all day.

Today is a busy day. Gravel truck this morning for the driveway. ( 340 feet ). Probably going to take 2 loads. ( 20 tons ). Price went up a lot since the last time. Then, I will run an errand. Nap this afternoon. Good weather for it.

Dining car is here from "Points West". Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday. Keep dry.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana.  Any state that has the Indianapolis 500 IS heaven on earth.  Don B, nice addition to Chief's deck.  Scrimmaged last night with "my" soccer girls.  Lunch with sis did not go too bad.  She was not too upset about stuff so far so I am not doing too bad.  Work has been relentless.  Do not see a slowdown for awhile.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on "Points East".  TBIL anytime tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

I want to thank everyone for their kind words for Sable, for those who don't have pets you might not understand what pet owners go through when this happens, makes you wonder why we seem to always replace them sometime down the road.

Anyone catch the ending of the Rutgers/St Johns game? What a horrible ending! Catch it on ESPN tonight as I'm sure they will cover it. March Madness awaits.

Jack - Thanks for the info, I did some reseach on lipomas in dogs and it gave me alot of hope.

SJ - I can only imagine what line of defense you have in mind, we can only hope you can share it with us at a later time!

Fifedog- You're on with the weight lose....how much?

Chief - Great story, if that story doesn't remind everyone to have respect for others before knowing them I don't know what would, thanks!

Greg - Post away, it's a great thread.

Thanks again to all,

Ray

Brent,

The weather keeps interferring with my implementation of the next stalking phase.  It snows, then rains, and just as I am trying to get the PGT out, it snows again.SoapBox  As for the job hunt the place that I took my resume and application to hasn't called yet, but I received and responded to email for them through career services.  Hopefully I'll hear something.

As for DC, I don't think that would be the best place for me.Wink

Jack,

Hopefully that will get to that point with Ms. Boysenberry.  I wouldn't want to go into detail though as I've never had a post deleted by Bob before, and I wouldn't want to chance it.

Was going to post last night around 10:30 after work, but I went to bed since I had to work 9-5 today.  I got the Kennywood Memories DVD from WQED in the mail today.  Love it.  I do regret not attending Rick Sebak's lecture when he was at CalU last spring though.

Afternoon All.

Lots of sun & bright blue skies @83*. CoolYes

RockIsland52

DougDG........your gas prices are always higher than most of the rest of us.  How can you live so close to a major harbor and pay more for gasoline than those in Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana who have their gasoline trucked 500-1,000 miles?  On the topic of rare, vintage cell phones.  I may have you beat.  Mine can only be used as a phone and a camera.....that's how old it is. Stick out tongue

Later, gang.

Jack

Jack,

Well let's see, I think it has been longer since a new refinery than our last nucleur plant. The highest fuel taxes in the nation as well as an overly agressive Air Polution Control Board resulting in different fuel blends around the state at different times of the year.

Camera phone, Laugh, I don't even think that was a dream when my phone was made. It even has an extendable antennae like a CAB-1 controller, although considerably shorter. Blindfold

Don, That "deck accessory" you provided sure would make a mighty nice weather vane to mount on Chief's rooftop. Wonder if he has a cupola ?Hmm

Later All.

RE: gas prices.    We are spoiled living in the best place in the world. Close friends came back from England where gas is 10 bucks a gal. WHEW!!  Guess those joy rides are over for awhile.      AF53, sorry about your pooch, went through same thing, really hurts, couldn't get a dog for a few years after that.        Hey Chief: great story, the best ones are the ones with the punchlines you don't expect.    You'all have a great day.  P. S.  Creeks and streams here are just roaring with water, more expected tomorrow. later.

You can't compare gas prices in England to the US, the countries are so dissimiliar it isn't even close to being comical. England is about the same size as Alabama! The population is mostly around major cities and they have extensive public transit. Towns in Europe are located along centuries old roads and the rail system connects the major cities and the minor cities along the rail routes, not every town in Europe has rail service. So most people commute via taxis or personal vehicle to get to the railline, then they hop on a train to get to their ultimate destination. The best comparison I can draw is Germany... the rail system in German is much akin to our interstate highway system and the Autobahns are akin to our rail system. If you catch my drift, the focus in Europe is on rail transit to get from point A to point B over long distances, in the US we either fly or drive. Also, in Europe passenger rail has priority over freight and therefore the passenger trains run at higher speeds. Can't do that in the States (unless there is a fundamental shift in how we approach high speed rail service). I also don't see how high speed rail is going to be successful here due to the trains not being able to compete speed wise with the airlines.
