Jim, thanks for the thoughts.  We are fine.  Back in 94 and again in 98, we had two 500 year floods that devastated the area.  You may remember the videos of floating coffins, etc.  Did not affect the area where my home is, but down by the hospital was a mess.

As to the "Camera", talk about a misnomer, "Golytely", yeah right!

Ray, some prisoner in a local jail protested the Christmas meal that the warden's wife made as a special treat for all the folks there.  It was Possum stew.  Even brought in the ACLU on the deal, they ended up giving him baloney sandwiches.

Take care,
Dennis

Evenin All.

Great day at the museum as far as operations were concerned, did have one Atlas reverse loop wye that required some increased spring tension. It was either fight thru the repair or shut down one of the upper level mains, surprisingly the spring was extremely co-operative(no swear words required). Didn't hang around for the Atlas thing, they weren't going to be there til 7pm and I was to pooped.

Fried Bologna ! As a kid growing up that was an A#1 treat, all that changed upon my arrival in Boot Camp and getting mid-night chowhall KP my first nite there. As long as it wasn't able to crawl off the grille it was fried and served. (Please note that an appropriate smiley is not available.)

Good news - wife's tests were all GOOD and only one laboratory test remains, which takes 24 hours.  She'll start that on Sunday and go to doctor office first thing in the morning Monday.  Paperwork should be faxed to insurance Monday afternoon.  So, in a few weeks, we should be in the transplant process!!!

Checked one local store for a new power brick and cable - they don't have them, but could get in a week he said. Another store says they have them on their website, so I will check that out tomorrow.

Right - TARDIS trip to Blueberry Hill!  Let's hit the road!

Prayers for all in need Smile

Good Evening

Yep fried egg and bologna or spam makes a good sandwich. Add a slice of cheese, messy but good.

Low 70s today, I think our luck is running out. Cleared out the veggie garden today as cooler temps will stop the growth anyway. Whats left of the tomatoes are in the house wrapped in newspaper. Well banilla ready and waiting for the thingy, so lets go....S.J.

 Brutus - GREAT NEWS!

Dougnotta - that's really good information....I've been sitting on the rolling stock (99% new and in boxes) for close to 5 months.  Mrs is starting to make noises that it should go.  If it brings a good price, I'm in for 20% - I figure at least $1000 worth of stuff - but I'll have to price it out before the train show next week and take bids.  That e-bay thing is killer on the bottom line and then to ship is a nightmare - especially if I have to do multiple boxes.

Welp, nighty night time it's almost midnight EDST - so off to bed - I have train inventory to do tomorrow!

Morning all!

Brutus:  Great news!

Buckeye:  Awesome video!

Charlie:  Did you get a bear?

SJ:  Trying to stay up later, Sleepy and sleep in longer (past 5:00am), but it's not easy.  How 'bout I call you when I get up, and we can chat?  Big Smile

Trains today with some friend's Children.  Spent the last 2- days raking up acorns.  4-compost bags full.  Still more dropping.   Putt-putt with the girls was great!  Too short, but the 2-yo was done with it by the end.  I found 2-more spots close to home!

Good Morning from wet Southern Ohio,

Kids up and playing inside.  We watched the posted videos of the accessories in a current post and the video from Buckeye several times.  They are true train fans!

Pat, fried bologna reminds me of growing up.  We had meat maybe two or three times a week and it was usually bologna or SPAM

Buckeye – I’ll let you know when it arrives.

Dennis – Glad you are above the floods.

Jim F – Praise to God!!!!  Now shift the prayers to successful transplant

Going to try and work in the garage today

May God bless

Jim

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a gloomy and cool 62 degrees. Rain today and 72 degrees.

Today is a lazy day. Papework to do and then I will relax. Maybe run trains later.

Great news Brutus.  Prayers for continued success!

Peaceful morning as son is at a friend's house for a birthday party.  Daughter is in playing and wife and I are sorting through the return paperwork, etc. from 9 days away.  Have not had a chance to search the past days worth of posts, but hope to be up on most goings on.

Will check in later, but have some more paperwork to do for work.  At least with the net, I can do some of that from home.

God Bless,
Dennis

Morning All!!  Things have calmed down here for awhile. I sold an old leaf blower to the new next door neighbor yesterday. He was glad to have it and I got enough money to buy food this week. He even offered me a beer which I accpted cause when your out of work and broke ya don't spend on that and hadn't had any in almost two years . It was nice just B S ing (can ya say that here?) Then I found out he has a box of old trains!! He's supposed to find them and bring them over and trade them for an old engine I have sitting on my work bench. Might be nothing but who knows whats in that box? If it is really good post war stuff I have a trailer in the yard he really wants so I can use that as a barganing point. Got to go to a job fair...Later Steve

Steve W - ...even if we can't say "it", "it" certainly does happen here quite a bit... Laugh  Some folks here are regular PhD's on "it".  Some work on "it" like an artist would work with clay or a canvas.  I think if you were to Google it, there would probably be a direct link to the Coffee Pot.

Thanks Jim.

Steve W. sounds like the wild west days with people jumping the counter at the bank. However that happens down here in south Florida a lot at pharmacies and conveniance stores(7-11, Cumberland Farms). Also a while back somebody shot the Brinks armored car couriers while at a bank, used an AK-47(Soviet army assault rifle, 7.64 mm ammo, has full automatic), in the legs or knee caps, wasn't aiming to kill just injure the persons so he could steal the money from the Brinks truck.

Still very busy at times, did laundry this morning as my wife has a saturday class for her job with the school distric, two saturdays a year or about $400.00 extra pay, just for the classes.

Gasoline seems to be coming down in price a few cents, found gas today for $2.439 a gallon. Temp still in the high 80's during the day and near 75 at night.

Business seems to be picking up a little bit on the turnpike, at least yesterday was better than most fridays lately, more cars.

Internet was out yesterday. Finally figured out I needed to power cycle the cable modem for the internet not just the main cable modem after their little fun yesterday. Trip to Phoenix was good. Doctor said the test they wanted to do (and thus the second trip) would probably be inconclusive. Everything up to this point is looking like esophageal spasms and they want to start me on a calcium channel blocker. I have to wait and check w/ my doc first as we may need to substitute it for some of the blood pressure meds I am already on. Diabetic education class is good as well. I am now counting calories and carbs (warning: don't try this after you've had mexican food unless you have a calculator).

Roy's Train World was fun. I picked up the track pins I needed, but unfortunately they only sell Lionel smoke fluid and only had it in the maintenance kit. Was looking forward to smoking up the living room w/ the 2026. Guess I'll just have to get it on line. Also picked up the newest Lionel catalog, the Kalmbach Command Control book, and a Williams Pacific Fruit Express Reefer. Now I'll have something other than the submarine car and caboose to drag around. Nice detail on the Williams car.

Did a lot of organizing and cleaning in the garage yesterday. Hung lights and new power setup as well. Should be able to finish up today and next weekend finally start some engine work. Have a friend in town staying w/ me for a week or so. Will be seeing Rebel Without a Cause on the big screen tonight. I've never seen it. Then off to scope after church in the morning.

Brutus - awesome news!

Ray - glad to hear you are doing better

Well off to find something to eat and then more work in the garage.

Brutus--WONDERFUL news!!!!

We are in Cedar Falls tonight as our Grandson will be Baptized tomorrow morning, a special day for sure.  It's been a week of tremendous highs and the lowest of lows, I did explain it to Chief earlier and I'll share more after Monday but just let me say my heart is very heavy but life does go on.

Good evening all,

What started as a foggy day in SE Indiana ended up as IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  It was so foggy and cloudy (how foggy was it...) that we turned on the lights for a 9 AM soccer game.  The toad is still here.  I reffed a wonderfully played 4-0 game at 9 and a horrible 3-3 tie where half the scores came off PKs.  "My" soccer girls lost a heartbreaker 1-0 today and the boys lost 3-0.  After the games, I came home and mowed the yard (making sure to cover the toad with a recycling bin so I did not hit it).  Then I went to Mass.  Going to the Great Train Show at Indy tomorrow.  Tired.  I had biscuits and bacon this morning on the dining car for breakfast (courtesy the "saucy wench") before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL and I will be sleeping in the lounge section of the Tardis.  All I ask is that Don's neighbor does not shake the Tardis too much.   Great news, Brutus on the status of Mrs. Brutus!  We will keep praying.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Thanks guys!  Bruthilda is in good spirits Smile

Steve and Jon, prayers for your needs.

Buckeye - great video and love the music choice, perfecto!

Had a lot of fun at Blueberry Hill last night!  I left the other guys to play tag with Don't neighbor as I had to get to bed early to work today.  Didn't turn out very well, as I only got about 4 hours of sleep.  Worked, then went to a local train store (Electric Trains Outlet) and picked up a 180Watt Powerhouse and cables.  Big storm hit, so came home and took a nap.  Later, I hooked up the brick and ran my MTH 4-6-0 (proto 2) in conventional, then my new GP9, and then the Hogwarts Express - everything ran great, although I think the whistle on the HEX was a little off?  It's been a while, so maybe I just don't remember what it sounded like, lol!

Laz - they had that NS "oil can" set - man, great detail on that set - you got a good one Thumbs Up

Brutus,

Does the smoke go straight up out of the stack on your 4-6-0? I have the 4-6-0 from the Christmas set (yuck), and the smoke kind of rolls from the stack in a big puff, but I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to be. BTW, that friend request that I sent to you on Live should appear as a message. If you get a chance, check out the Forza 3 demo. It is an amazing racing game.
