Hello all
Catching up on posts. Crazy busy weekend. Glad to get back to work.
Won an animated caboose on fleabay I've been seaking for a while. I have been fairly lucky lately. The track maintenance car last week and a caboose this week.
It was good to see a few birds on SPF.
Prayers for those who need them
May God bless
Jim
Afternoon all!
Running around done for the day! Kids all better.
Chief: Sorry for the cold...It was from my kids. I'll remember to wash my hands before typing.
Lions lost....again.....Cowboy's game was fun to watch. Nice stadium for a $Billion$.
Brutus et al: Beacon is on! We have some leftover cheese cake bride made for last night's gathering!

Evenin' boys. Back on daywork. Pleasant and 73 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Good day yesterday. No dents. Good day for both of my number 5's (Joe Flacco & Mark Martin). Got to get out on the bay for a sail, with dinner at Red Robin.
Fifedog,
Did you get the new Red Robin Burger with cheese sticks, spegetti sauce, pepperoni, banana peppers, meat, and bread on it? I can't wait to give that a try. My favorite appitizer included with my burger has got to be good...
Jack and I spent some time playing on the layout. For 3 years old, he is pretty good at getting the cars on the track and making them go, stop, and make sounds. Makes me want to buy every train I can find for him!
Got a package from up north. Contained a car that needs the wheels stretched to fit on O gauge. First one I have seen of it's size. I can see why American Flyer is/was so popular. Nice car!
Wes
RED Robin, all you can eat fries
Like the whisky river BBQ burger and the Fiesta burger as well
S scale and gauge is still alive and well in the form of Lionel produced stuff as well as American models and S helper. But there is just something about A.C. Gilbert produced trains that attracts so much attention they are realy good models compared to lionel's stuff from the same era.
Diehard S gauger with a serious O gauge habit.
Good Evening
We had a warm muggy day, 76 I think.
I just goofed off today so waiting for the thingy with banilla and rootbeer.

Finally home. Tired. Had full day. Lots of meetings and now crash. Do have a box in livingroom with NS Dash 9 in it. SP, all the work I do is not workout work. Dr. says that does not count. Kurt, don't have a cold. Allerigies. Got two pills and one nose spray. Seems to help. Good night.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

CSXect- S guage is awsome!!!! But I am biased!
Chief- If congestion is the issue try a netti pot nasal cavity flush. It seems disgusting but it works!
Fife - What did you think of Greg's (Northwoods Fyer) flamingo shots!!!! They were great! They looks like the ones from Dept 56
Good Night and may God bless
Morning to All,
Stopping in for a quick cup. Tonight is the last of the Back to School Nights. Hoo-rah. Maybe after this Back to School event I'll have some time for the train room now that cooler weather is ahead. Last time I tried to run trains a few weeks ago there was a problem with the power to the main line. Have to do some troubleshooting.
Take care,
Mitch

Stay frosty,

Good morning all,
Weather map looks crazy with three fronts in or near SE Indiana. Will probably rain sometime. Did weights, treadmill, and some soccer drills at the YMCA last night. The "saucy wench" came along as well and did treadmill. She has three sub "bookings" this week so she will be busy. Watched a little of "Dancing with the Stars", but it was just the guys dancing so nothing super impressive. Did some Second Life. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast and then sent it on to "Points East". TBIL after the boys' soccer game tonight (weather permitting for the game), and the lightning resistors worked really well. The only shocking thing on the Tardis was some of the non-outfits that Don's neighbor was not wearing (not that any of us really minded....remember, what happens on the Tardis...stays on the Tardis). I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' FellasSPMan - missed the most about your Aunt. Prayers for you and your family.Laz - Sounds like a good time with your Bro. I still have to break down and clean SusieQ's 45 and 38 Mag. they need a good cleaning and I've been putting it off.----Was working from home Friday and yesterday since the electrician was at the house doing the electric rough-in. Now have a ceiling fan in the Family Room - been wanting one in there since we moved in. Called for framing and electric inspections... really nervous about these as if they pass then I get to start insulating and drywalling! Hope to be painting next week. Also will have to start putting siding back on and installing the exterior finish boards on the sunroom. Still a bit to do, hope I can get it all done by Winter.

Good Morning
70 and sticky, everything feels damp. But sure beats what is happening in Ga.
I have no real plans for the day, going to take a walk and then maybe go to some big store and walk some more. No I do not run, at 70 I am greatful that I can still enjoy a walk. Bacon and egg sandwich, melon for breakfast. I don't think it will be enough to last till supper.
Morning all. Rain. Needed it. More to come. Hope all is well with our GA. folks. Spent the morning at the gym. Went through all 13 weight stations and then 30 minutes on tread mill [over a mile and watched the end of a TCM movie while walking away]. Ran trains some. Now to do town stuff. Got Town Board tonight. Chat later.

Wes,
Be careful, because that is how the Flyer addiction starts. Soon after that, your inbox will become flooded with Paypal receipts.
Laz,
Do you teach just woodshop, or do you do metalshop as well? My shop teacher during the junior high years taught us sandcasting as well as woodworking. In HS, the teacher focused solely on woodworking. I sure do miss my days on the lathe.
88,
Maybe you should do the cleaning in case the inspector gives you grief? Seriously though, good luck with the inspection.
I got more track down this weekend, so I am slowly getting closer to scenery. I need one more set of RealTrax elevated piers, but I spent the money on the wireless racing wheel that Microsoft makes for the 360, as well as a new cell phone. When I checked Best Buy's site, the wheel was shown as unavailable at all of the stores in the area. I decided to call the closest store anyway to be sure, and suprisingly they did have one left. They even held it until I could pick it up. I need to do the work formy online classes this afternoon before ifall behind.
Jim, good purchase. Just save a little more for the piers.
BTW Gang: posted some photos of new horses in the Roseyville stable on Sunday Photo Fun.
Chief,
The set of eight elevated piers is only $20, so I'll get them within the next couple of weeks. I need to stop spending for a few days though. After typing my above post, I have confirmed once again that my typing skills are lacking at times.
Evenin' boys. Evenin' English. Overcast 7 77 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Northwoods - appreciate the thoughts,as well as your efforts. Already have my own Dept 56 beauties, and even got one published (CTT 1/08, page 70, look over the CSX cab roof.)
An Early Good Evening
An hour walk around Walmart this morning, spent a little, can't go there without finding something I need. Had fried chicken, mac and cheese and some kind of fancy potato dish. Ate too much, just got back from another walk..Never did get to the trains. 79 and still humid.
Banilla is ready for the thingy so fire away...S.J.
green97probe Laz, Do you teach just woodshop, or do you do metalshop as well? My shop teacher during the junior high years taught us sandcasting as well as woodworking. In HS, the teacher focused solely on woodworking. I sure do miss my days on the lathe.
JIM, I teach just woodshop. 7th and 8th graders in the morning then go to HS in afternoon and teach basic cabinet making to a hodgepodge of 9-12th graders. Lots o girls are now taking shop classes. It is an elective there at the HS in the MS it is manditory for all students. I just got done teaching the lathe to my 7th graders, showed them a simple turning of a 12inch baseball bat. They love it. Problem is I only have one lathe and the kids have to wait to get on. But that's ok because all kids gotta make something on it. Projects they can try and turn are, baseball bat, egg, mini football or a candle stick holder. Also my favorite tool too. It usually takes me 10 minutes from start to finish to do a baseball bat. Had all the other stuff in college, Hot metals, cold metals, graphic arts, mechanical drawing, electronics, and of course wood. Seems like ages ago.
Kids bathed and in bed. Bride at a meeting. Sat down with a cold Moleson and catching up on the pot. Feels good just to sit for a bit.
Good luck on the electrical inspection. They usually have to find "someting" usually an easy fixand all is happy.
Fife and Greg - Gotta love the little pink beauties
Laz - always enjoyed shop class. I wish I could get started on a bookshelf project, it has been too long since I had swdust on the shopsmith
Good night and may God bless

We had two lathes in HS, but occasionally there would be a waiting list. Unfortunately, school policy prevented us from making bats. I turned two lamps though. One is solid mahogany, and the other is a combination of cedar and oak. I did start turning a third lamp, but it turned into a ballistic missile when the screws holding the faceplate to the workpiece decided to take a vacation. Fortunately, I was standing off to the side when it let go, and I am glad no one was in the way. That would have done some serious damage. If I had the money and space, I'd definitely have woodshop. Shop class was mandatory all three years in junior high, and I chose to take it all four years in HS. I loved every minute of it.
ChiefEagles30 minutes on tread mill [over a mile and watched the end of a TCM movie while walking away]. Ran trains some. Now
Chief, walking is very good for you. 30 minutes a day at least. I have not joined a gym yet but I walk about 45 minutes every morning 7 days a week and have for the last three months. My triglycerides went from 500 down to 159 and I lost 19 lbs. Of course, I had to cut out some fatty foods too. Watching movies while you're walking sounds like a good way to pass the time. I used a walkman tape player for a while but got tired of hearing the same stuff too many times. Need to get some new tapes. I have been walking without it lately. My wife has joined me for the last 20 minutes of my walk as I swing by the house. She needs to work up to longer walks. One issue here is the air quaility since we had all those fires. I see no more smoke but the paper still calls it unhealthful for sensitive people. We are having another heat wave this week with temps around 102 for the next couple of days. Fire danger is up again too. Our county fair is going on now and I'm glad I'm not out there. They always have it at the hottest time of the year. Getting ready to put some steaks on the outdoor grill tonight so we don't heat up the kitchen. Ran some trains this morning without any crashes. We have a TCA meet coming up this weekend. Only one more meet after this one before the big Cal Stewart meet in Pasadena in November which is billed as the largest show West of the Mississippi. It might be but nothing could compare to York for size that I have been to except maybe that show in Chicago. Keep up the good work at the gym.
Later, Ray

Howdy guys - some rain today. Ran my new GP9 for a while. I can get it to run in one direction and keep it going with like 3 volts. Can't get the TPC to switch the e-unit. It doesn't drop down to 0.0 volts. It hits like 1.3 or something? CW80 goes lower, like 0.7 or so? I mean when you hit the direction button. However, the TPC can hit 0.0 when you hit the aux1-0 combo, so why won't it do it on the direction button? I don't get it.
Tardis is ready - Doug is about to his station and Jim said the banilla will be ready soon, so let's get going!
fifedogNorthwoods - appreciate the thoughts,as well as your efforts. Already have my own Dept 56 beauties, and even got one published (CTT 1/08, page 70, look over the CSX cab roof.)
Fife,
My pleasure. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I went back and read the article from 1/08. I had just discovered and joined the forums at about that time, so I didn't make the connection between the article and "fifedog" on the forum. Great article and pictures. I see that your pink buddy actually made it into two photos.
It looks like someone in Flyertown ordered from the same breeding program.

Cloudy, cool and drizzle today. About 9 hours of rain starting at lunch time yesterday.
Brutus - I got out my Williams GP9 the other night for some run time after hearing about your adventures. No problems running on a powerhouse, TPC and Legacy. I was pulling three lighted passenger cars, though. Light bulbs make a difference? Have you tried AUX1, AUX2,0,SET to reset the stall voltage to zero (page 16)?
Laz - Glad to hear somewhere in the country shop is a required class. Shop classes teach on so many different levels - creativity, common sense, safety, proceedure, housekeeping, etc, etc.
Marx trucks got here today from e-bay. Replacing a couple on my friend's train. The cars are not really worth the time, but when he saw the video of his 666 pulling 10 of my box cars and a caboose, he started talking about setting up a train table. Worth it to encourage our sickness in others!
