Don't ever think about running from a police dog, Holy Cow!!!!!!!  I just watched about 4 hours of USPCA National PDI Trials in West Des Moines, there are about 90 dogs here from all over the USA and it was amazing.  Today's exercise was the criminal apprehension and it was very cool, in a nutshell---the dog and handler were on the goal line (footbal stadium) and the bad guy was on the 30--they both took off at the same time and in most cases the bad guy was caught at about the next 30 to 20 with the dog hanging on to the arm (HUGE cuff), the handler had to catch up and give the verbal command to release (some in German).  A few of the bad guys (other handlers) were taken to the ground but most stayed on their feet.  There were other exercises that they had to do but that one was the best :)

I repeat, never run if there's a police dog bearing down on you, he or she is MUCH faster.

Jon, great advice for us on the forum. But I do hope the true bad guys run!Whistling

Good afternoon all,  this has been one frustrating day for me.  Drove 70 miles round trip this morning to pick up an engine from shop where it had been for  about 6 weeks more or less for repair.  Got home, put it on track, and all kinds of problems.  Not blaming anybody but I'm ready to throw these trains in the trash.  Now have to go back tomorrow and start all over again.  I've had it.  Sorry for the rant.

Evening all.  What a day.  Worked out at the gym.  Came home and serviced the 4Runner [no problems there].  Went for a hair cut.  Off to Raleigh to Sears for a tire rotation [$15].  Guy cross threaded and messed up a lug nit and lug bolt.  Had to wait for Toyota dealer to deliver replacement.  What you get for trying to start chrome lug nuts with an inpack wrench.  DUMB "NUT".  Took over an hour.  They should have made it free.

On the Pot, may start it early tonight as got early to rise [5 AM] and rush to a breakfast meeting in Raleigh.  One guy in CA can never get it right anyway. Whistling

Get ready for Criminal Minds later tonight.  May go to the lake tomorrow evening.  If not, Friday.

Later.

RT, You will get used to it, I've been using one for about 10 years.  Still don't like it but it beats the alternative.

Evenin' Fellas

Got most of the insulation up in the sun room walls tonight. Need to stop at Home Depot tomorrow and pick up 3 more bags of R-13 for the walls (also getting extra for the one garage wall that isn't insulated. Since it is on sale may as well do it now. Got 3.5 of the 16 voids in the ceiling done as well. That stuff sucks! The ceiling voids are 14.5 feet long and are 2x10s so the insulation is R-30 unfaced. With a respirator I was still choking after doing the little I got done. Susan stopped into to check on me and said I was using the wrong respirator, something about this one being made for solvents and I needed one for particulates... Confused She's the chemist, so I guess she would know. Then she says 'That is my respirator, it won't fit you.' So I put my hands over the intakes and breathed in... nothing... removed hands before I passed out 'Seems to work just fine.' Smile

I need to remove the ventilated soffit and replace it with solid soffit tomorrow when I get home, stopped tonight and picked up the non-ventilated soffit but it was getting dark by the time I got home. Hope to get that done and the rest of the ceilings tomorrow night, and hopefully the finish the little bit on the walls. Friday I hope to get the OSB replaced on the screened porch that the electrician had to remove.

Going to be going gang-busters on it through next Thursday as the following Monday the electrician is to return to do the finish work... not sure I'll make that target as we're heading to the finger lakes next weekend for a short respite.

What's this all about???  If I'm looking at things right this is about 4 hours early.  There could really be severe impacts from ending a thread prematurely !  Even Obama doesn't have the authority to shorten a day, much less a month !

Maybe this is an attempt at Censorship!  We don't post often out here on the west coast, but WHEN we do, there is always significance in our message content.  And to think an effort would be made to deny that, is just unbelievable.

I am thinking a revolt may be in order, if we allow 4 hours "slack" time this month, what will happen next month ?  Shut it down at dusk?  Or maybe in the afternoon because of a meeting?  Limiting threads to a specific number of pages?  Its obvious where this can lead.  It will be no time and the entire pot would be closed after 1 or 2 posts.  (And we know by whom)

Now as my father would say, "If the heat is too hot in the kitchen, get out of the kitchen",( or "close the oven door", something like that), lol.   Seriously Now, this is a solemn responsibility, not to be sheirked off easily, as it even becomes more signifcant the further away from NC you get !   As earlier stated the intended cutoff time at 5:00, THAT IS 2:00 HERE ON THE LEFT COAST !!!  How reasonable is that!

Finally, even the "overseers" are quite forgiving and gracious during the transition activity.

Just when I think I've identified most of the issues, more come to mind ......

- Our most celebrated and highest posted  member (+10,000 plus), cutting posting opportunities of others.

- Premature curtailment, (hmmmm??)

Now what to do ???    That is a real quandry!  Have to think on it!

However, it is important that I don't commit the same "lack of regard" and want to make sure that other will have an opportunity post on this thread, as it is now 23:05.  Therefore I will sign off for now.

Don
