Kurt - I checked that and the mounts aren't moveable. We are looking into getting a new dishwasher, but not sure when that will happen. This is a temporary fix and hopefully the new DW will have side mounts. The construction adheasive I used to secure the poplar should release fairly easily when I need to pry it off... we'll see.

Pat & Laz - Since I am modeling Baltimore during the 40s - 60s I think that sign would look right at home somewhere on my layout as well!

---
York Update - York is a no-go all around for me this October. I will be able to make it for dinner on Thursday, but won't be able to make it Friday or Saturday. We FINALLY are going on a vacation the weekend before York and I'll not have enough VT remaining to take Friday off, and Friday night I have my final sleep study/fitting for the CPAP. So this will be the first York show I'll miss in 3yrs. Sad

Laz and Brent - The Miller Engineering newletter says the Natty Boh sign will be available the first week of Oct., but you know how that goes. Laz, it should be available at York. Brent, I would think you could order it direct from them even though it won't be in their current catalog. Their web site is www.microstru.com.

Pat,
I may have to order it. I pre-ordered a boxcar while at the April York show and signed up to pick it up at the show in October... so not sure how I am going to get it now. I may just have to go up Saturday morning and get them... depends on the sunroom project as well... who knows......

I am not sure I can make York ether, or I would be happy to pick the boxcar and Natty Boh sign and send them to you. I think anyone from the Pot that goes would do the same. In fact, maybe someone could pick up both and give them to you Thur. (?) night at dinner.

Afternoon.  Back from the lake.  Stayed and extra night due to mowing for two neighbors who could not get there and had not been able to mow for several weeks.  Got all the grass mowed [had to mow at 4" and the mow again at 3 1/2 due to the tall grass].  Rained Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday AM.  Then sun came out and dryed everything out.  Finished at dark.  Tried the wireless at RJ's and it was acting up so could not sign on.  He was gone and the workers did not know what a computer was. Whistling  Probably neede to be unplugged for 60 seconds and reset.  Shot the Golden Boy a few minutes ago at the range.  Smooooth.

By request from the retired horn blower in Ioway, here are the photos.

As you can see the receiver, but plate and the part under the lever is brass and golden.  Thus the name Golden Boy.  This one is in .22 mag.  Did not want the higher calibers as cost too much to shoot.  Octagon barrel just like the ones in the "old west".

Got to run.  Town Hall calling and then Church photos a 4:30.

Chat later.

Good afternoon from the Heartlands where it is bright blue skies and strong winds out of the north, and I mean strong, you would think that the grits guy from Caroliner was giving a speech just outside the windows -- strong enough to knock you over Smile

We made our way north on Saturday to get ready for the Baptism of our new Grandson, we opted for the motel with a nice big pool so we all ended up there on Saturday afternoon and had a great time.  Big lasange dinner at the kids' home that night and lots of good conversation, I am glad however that we got to go back to the nice quiet motel.

Beautiful service yesterday morning, just perfect.  Our youngest son and soon to be wife are the Godparents and while Kristen (our 3 year old Granddaughter) was holding the Baptism candle she turned to her uncle and said very quietly "where's the cake"?  I didn't hear it but both of my son's could not look at each other for fear of breaking out in laughter.  Another great meal following the service and we all headed home, saw some folks that we had not seen for quite awhile and that was wonderful.  The baptism gown that they used has been in my wifes family for 112 years, very special.

With all the of the joy there was some great sadness last week that concluded today.  Our neighbor was the victim of a hit and run last Wednesday, he was on his way home from work with the National Guard at the DM airport.  He's a 30 year Vet of the Guard.  Two dirt bags pulled out of a convience store at a high rate of speed after a drive off gas crime and hit him nearly head on going the opposite direction.  It's in a residential type neighborhood and he was going below the speed limit riding his HD with helmet, with boots, etc., he did everything right but he didn't have a chance.  He was DOA at the hospital.  The dirt bags stopped and one ran back to check him and then they both took off running and were caught quickly by the police.  Brothers, but neither has a license and both have a police record a mile long.  In fact, the one (now 26) was involved in a police shoot out 10 years ago and lost a leg and supposedly had a head injury so he never went to trial, the county DA did not pursue charges but they are now "looking back" and possibly will file charges.  Today was the funeral at the Air Guard base and it was just so sad, he was only 49 with two grown children.  I've never seen so many top military staff with tears in their eyes when they thanked us for standing the flag line.  We did have a big turn out this morning and that was gratifying.

So as we sadly close the book on a good friend today, it's with joy that we celebrate the life of our new Grandson and pray for the families of those in need.

Jon, I understand the heaviness in your heart.  You were blessed with his friendship for awhile, though too short.  I have said before, we are all too often reminded how precious life is and that life and friendships/love of those in our lives.  Make sure you let the folks in your life know how special to you they are.

Chief, I have one of those rifles.  Won it at a Friends of the NRA event several years ago.  Have yet to fire it, but she sure looks good in the cabinet.

Long day.  Finished both cases.  Taking a little break as I finished the most difficult evaluation and now I have another, but this one will be easy.  Great guy who does very good work and it makes things go much better.  I could just copy last year's, but I'll be honest and do a new one that still gives him justice.  A lot to be said for consistancy.

Dennis, I kept the secret of your "where abouts" as I thought the Yanks might try to over run us with out your support. Whistling

Got to read over the posts and nothing worth while since OSU does NOT have a football team and NC State beat Pit.  Best news of the month is Brutus's wife's report.  Outstanding.

Just got back from Church for photos for directory.  Olin Mills trys to sell you the world.  Only purchased 24 Christmas Cards.  Figured I'd send them to the regular "Pot" gang and they would have something of beauty to see and enjoy. Laugh

Need to go to the gym.  ["doggone" weather alert keeps going off about severe T'storms and we are not suppose to have rain per our famous weather person]

Boinous nochaes from Manresa Spain. Partly cloudy and high 70´here.

Brutus - great news about your wife.  Also, my HWX has a weak whistle on the TPC.

Jon - condolances for your friend.

Flight into Barcelona was good.  Airplane was not full, decent food, on time.  Only problem is Delta sent my bag to Columbus Oh. instead of Atlanta.  It was not there when I was Sunday.  Finally caught up to me today.  Looks like it was left out in the rain at some point, as all of my shirts are damp except one.  Found out today that our materials department has not sent the proper material for the samples I need to make here.  Oh boy.  Tryng to recover from that one.  Might extend my trip into next week.

Glad to be able to get into the forum and coffee pot.  It provides al little escape from reality.

 Later all.

8N, I was in Spain about 25 years ago.  Absolutely beautiful!  While it is a distance from there, if you have a chance, Toledo is fantastic (especially the cathedral).  Also, if you like the beach, Costa Del Sol on the Mediterranean is a fantastic place.

Well, I had hoped to come home and work on some evaluations, but the hospital's system doesn't want to play nice with our home system.  I'll worry about it tomorrow.

With regard to our escape, I took the wife and kids, along with my parents on a Disney Land and Sea cruise/park deal.  Was a nice deal in that we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, along with park hopper passes for 4 days.  That part had us waking up to see giraffes and other game outside our window.  Then, we spend 4 nights on the Disney Wonder sailing the Caribbean.  Best food I've ever had.  While it was so much fun, all that running around has me still trying to catch my breath and get some sleep.  We loved it so much, we booked another cruise while still on the boat!  Starting to dig into the train budget if you know what I mean.

They have announced that Mike Huckabee is going to be preaching at our church in November.  Looking forward to it.  Actually, I look forward to every Sunday there.

Chief, I too got my CTT and OGR magazines when I got home.  And, after looking at the Santa Fe duo that Bob K. spoke of on the train box, I may have to expand my collection to a few modern motive power pieces.
While I type this, my son is building the 50th anniversary Lego "Town Plaza" set on the table.  It is for 12+ and he is only 7.  Kid amazes me.

God Bless,
Dennis

Jon - sorry for your loss.  Like Fife, I have this waaay too many times, and I, too am angry.  It's one thing to have an MVA in a car, but to take a life that was on a scoot is out of line.  I have long been a proponent of like execution (ya know, arson=death by fire...that kind a thing).  Dirtbag is too kind a word and decorum here prohibits the terms I'd really use.  Being 54, close enough to my age, puts it in perspective.  And a serviceman to boot.  Prayers for the family.

Speaking of the wind from the North...Hey Chief, How ya been?

Time for beddy bye...I have to get the Princess to school then a road trip to West Palm Beach, soooo I'll be late getting home tomorrow...at least I'll be off of KP duty.

I'll check in tomorrow before the trip!

Wes - not sure if they will let you pick up the boxcar for me. I have to look for the receipt.

Fife - Yep I've seen the sign. Smile And nope 43 played... 45 didn't and his presence in the middle was felt quite deeply. More than that, we missed #7... unfortunately he plays for Delaware now.

I had a chance to get back to work on the layout tonight because the DSL was down for a bit, and normally that would be a bad thing. However, that is a gift when you have online classes.Big Smile I was adjusting the spacing between tracks, and I think that I've just about got it. I was starting to lose my motivation recently, but a quick unboxing of the Coors Light set last night got me going again. I was watching Step Brothers last night, and the part when Dale and Brennan try to make their beds into bunk beds reminded me of my old benchwork.Black Eye

Once again, thanks guys - it feels good to get a little momentum on this procedure, that's for sure!  Test today was to determine how much chemo wife will require - urine and blood test.

Well, while mowing the back yard last night, I found sappers had come under the wire!  Varmint Cong everywhere!  I was down to just a little of that magic stuff in the yellow cone containers, so I stopped tonight and bought 2 more cones full.  It was overcast, windy and looked like imminent rain, so didn't salt them down tonight, but tomorrow I will give every little tunnel a good dose - and that's all she wrote!  Mischief

Tardis is ready, so let's get some banilla and check on RT - he's working like a zillion hours of OT this week I think!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Fife - I haven't seen the actual sign, but there is a recently released Natty Boh box car, by Williams I think, organized by VA Golfer from Virginia on the "other" form.

jonadel - The dirtballs walked once and will probably walk this time. I believe in due process, but most jurisdictions over due it. Thats why I thing Military Tribunals is the way to go with terrorists. Keep them out of the US courts.

Mornin' Fellas - Well the next round of inspections is today. I am really holding out hope that they pass because the furnance was running nearly all night due to the sunroom not being insulated. Scary thought what the bill is going to be if I can't get it insulated soon.

Jon - sorry for your loss. Stuff like that just drives me insane. Senseless to do stuff like that.

Found the receipt for the boxcar. No number to call to ask about having someone else pick it up so it looks like I'll at least be heading up on Saturday, depending on how the inspections go I may make it up on Friday afternoon... we'll see.

Aloha all. Cold and grey today with I-o-way winds upon us. Long day with class tonight. I'll be looking for riders with me on the way home. Brutus, what are you using on your varmints? I need some. I would use a .303 Lee-Enfield solution but the neighbors would probably frown. Yawned through last eve's football game as the bride unexpected went out leaving us boys to eat ice cream for dinner and watch the Sox and Cowboys. Glad 8n made it to Spain. Someplace I'd like to visit someday. Glad you enjoyed your trip, Dennis. I thought you might be asea with the Mouse. My condolences, Jon. What a sad story. Pat, I'm holding out for Jon to run for president again.

Morning all.  Carolina Blue Sky.  Kind of Fall like with temps.  Finally got time so off to the gym.  Dr's apt to get sinuses "sucked" out later today.  Xrays say sinus infection.  Wifey went for more xrays.

Jon knows how I feel about the culprits.  Hang them from a part of their body [can not mention on here].  Imagine being the lawyer the court appoints to defend them [they will probably get a freebie].  Would be hard to do his/her job.

Hey, Wifey just called.  She knew more than the radiologist.  She told them it was a tick bite and not a mass.  Sure enough, they now say it is a tick bite [after arguing with her and scaring her for several days].

Off to the gym.

Later.
